Disappointing round of yard sales

Guitar Hero 3 (360) $5
Xbox rental kiosk disks $2 for 4 of them. You have to format the HDD to run them, tho, so I've no use for them. Anyone want these?

I'm interested.

What numbers are they?

do I need a cd key to sell this? there's a bar code on the bottom but i don't see a cd key.Huh. I found a 10.4 set at the flea market last Wednesday but someone got it before me; they wanted ten bucks for it.

I didn't find much today:
Starship Titanic (PC) almost complete (it's missing the big manual) and audiobook sampler - $5
Two old comic books - $1 each. The bastard wouldn't lower the price. :(
Descent Freespace + Silent Threat two pack - $1 at the dollar store o_O

SNES - Super Nova & U.N. Squadron

Picked these out and offered $5 and was countered with $8 and I offered to meet in the middle at $6.50 which was taken.

Broken Game Boy Color In Box (Teal) - Free
Bubble Bobble Double Shot (DS, Complete) - 3

Found the broken GBC at the 3rd sale of the day, the screen is messed up. BB-DS I found pretty early on with 2 other DS games, not priced but I think they were asking 5 but took my offer of 3 with no problems.

Playstation A/V Cord In 1st Party RF Box - .25

4 Xbox & 1 360 Games (Dead Or Alive 3 No Manual, Sega Superstars Tennis No Insert) - 5

No price on the A/V cord and took a quarter for it. Found the Xbox games late in the day, SST was marked a buck and the Xbox games 1.50 each. Offered 4 for the Xbox games and ended up also grabbing SST.

[b]PS2 Slim With 1st Party Memory Card, Power Plug & 1st Party Controller. 2x Wavebirds, 2x 360 Wireless 1st Party Controllers, Kingdom Hearts II (Complete) & a 360 Cord.

26

All of this was 39 if bought at asking price. I offered 20 for everything except the 360 cord and was countered with 25 which I took. Grabbed the 360 cord then which was a buck and made it all 26.

18 NES Games & A Zapper - 5

Asked about games and the guy that owned them was out but was going to be back soon so I came back after a few nearby sales. Ended up bringing this out with a NES with some tangled up cords for the NES including some SNES (3rd party IIRC) controllers. The system and controllers were all really dirty, no lid on the NES and the one controller was missing a good hunk of plastic and you could see the PCB inside. I ended up offering 5 for the games which was taken.

Flea market trip, Sunday July 25th, 2010.

Don't chase me with torches... Please? I played the role of DAMN DIRTY RESALER today LOL.

Okay, today the first booth I stopped at had a soft DS case with a copy of Mario Kart in it. The 2 things were priced together at $8. I asked the guy running the booth if he'd take $5 for just the game and he said yes. (I've been wanting to play this title).

I stopped by my favorite game resaler today and he had in a HUGE stock of new (to his booth) N64 games. I left some titles I wanted for myself and for eBay (Mystical Ninja, Mischief Makers, and Mario Kart 64) since I wanted to be on a semi-budget today. His price was decent at $7 a game. I asked for the best price for 3 (Castlevania, LoZ: MM, and Mario 64) and he told me $20. I kept looking in the booth and in the corner was Valkyrie Profile. I looked it over and asked how much for that. He said since it was a 2 disc game it'd be $7. It took me a long time (about 0.5 sec) to decide to get that LOL. He had a few new NES titles and I always make a point to get a new one for my collection. Wild Gunman was $3. (I left Krusty's Fun House, which was also $3. I'm now regretting that because I've never seen that title in the wild before). Also, I saw The Adventures of Darwin and it looked like a fun lil' obscure title. The guy said he'd do $6 on it since I was buying some other stuff. I was about to pay ($36) and the guy told me he had some new "old gameboy games" in stock. Pokemon Silver and Dragon Warrior: Monsters were $3 a piece. Man, I've been wanting DW Monsters for forever. All in all, it was a $42 well spent.

Speaking of games that I've been wanting forever I spotted this copy of Diablo (PSX). The lady running the booth had that and a Diablo II game guide in cruddy water damaged condition. I asked if she'd sell the game seperately and she was adamant about selling both together for $5. Again, this is something I thought about for a while since I hate paying $5 for practically disc-only games but I've been wanting to try PSX Diablo for a while. And it seems that even in this shape (original case & inserts, and missing manual.) it brings close to $20 on eBay. I threw out the guide since it was in terrible shape.

Also, going back through the flea market I stopped by a booth with N64 games, $5 a piece. I figured since I'm going to eBay the other MM that I'd get a 2nd copy. Both are the holographic covers, btw.

Sorry about the wall o' text today, I guess I had a lot on my mind. The 2 copies of Majora's Mask, Mario 64, and Pokemon Silver are all going to eBay. I want to try out Valkyrie Profile and if I like it I might keep it. The other games are going to my collection.

Oh btw, Valkyrie Profile is minty and complete :D

Here are those pics I promised from yesterday:

http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/ww264/garagesaleking/DSC00850.jpg

Right when it caught my eye I did a double take, being that I was the first person to the electronics section at the rummage sale I quickly found this during my primary scan, I paid $8 before ever even opening the box, and when I get to the car I find inside a whole bunch of games, I was pretty thrilled. The books for all the games are there. I initially thought this was worth a lot more than it is, but still a really great find, Ill take offers on it if anyone is interested, Sea Duel is the highlight, its an r7, and I tested the system and it does seem to work properly.

http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/ww264/garagesaleking/DSC00851.jpg

This was actually the first thing I found, I had it marked sold and set aside, It is pretty dirty but should clean up nice. It was marked $8 which I gladly paid. I knew it was a quadrophonic receiver right away, and knew it was probably worth a good amount. I underestimated the value by a lot though. It is actually one of the best receivers sansui ever made, this is the best of the best from there qrx line, the qrx9001. Worth about $350 as is for parts, or up to $650 if working, sadly mine needs some work done, but I should be able to get $350 out of it.

http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/ww264/garagesaleking/DSC00852.jpg

Had absolutely no idea what these pieces were. They were marked $5 for all three pieces. After I had looked and was still scanning the electronics, my dad said we better set them aside and we did. The bottom piece was insanely heavy, like 30 pounds. I knew it was some sort of stereo stuff, but literally took a shit in the dark on it. Turns out the bottom piece is called a dynakit mono block amplifier. It is tube which just got me even more excited. Just a pair of the block amps goes for $500 to $550, so one should be an easy $250 for someone who only needs one. And the other two pieces I should be able to get $50 for the pair.

http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/ww264/garagesaleking/DSC00853.jpg

Lastly, this was also quickly grabbed. Me and my dad had the run of the electronics section for about the first 10 minutes of the sale. People just seem to avoid them. The resellers flock to jewelry, and books and dvds. I just laughed as they were all fighting over some disney dvds and books to make a few bucks when none of them came to electonics and I smoked any of their potential finds out of the water.

It was marked $75, I did not really notice it until my dad said what is this, I said holy sh**, when I saw the specs I knew it was a must buy. It is an acer desktop with speakers and mouse and keyboard. It was actually still factory sealed and brand new, we just cut it open to make sure it was all there. It has 4gb memory, 640gb hd, a 512mb video card, dvd burner, dual core intel processor, vista premium, it was marked as being sold from a store in February 2009. I should be able to get $230 at the very least from it.

The first week in August is when the next mega church sale is and my dad has a vacation that week. They start the sale on a friday so we will be there hopefully first or close to the front of line. have done really well in the past finding video games and high end stereo stuff there. I hope I can do as well there. It always helps having my dad with me when he can come, it is such a help having somewhere to help you carry stuff and point things out to you quickly.

This has easily been one of my single greatest finds days ever, and it was all dumb luck.

Found the loose DC keyboard at the second Goodwill of the day. Found all the SNES carts at the first, which I only happened to stop at because I got out of a family reunion unexpectedly early.

Castlevania Dracula X
Donkey Kong Country
Doom
Eye of the Beholder
Final Fantasy II
Final Fantasy III
Mega Man X2
Nickelodeon Aaahh! Real Monsters
Ogre Battle
Populous
Super Double Dragon
Super Mario World
Super Metroid
Super Punch-Out! (2 copies)
Turtles IV

FF2, Super Double Dragon, and one of the copies of Super Punch-out were 99 cents. Everything else was 1.99 each. The dumb luck part is that the SNES games were all put out today, based on the date on all the price tags.

And he's right, just because it loads fine at the start does -not- mean the disc will work all the way through.

No you shouldn't need one. I'm 99.9% sure that all OSX discs do not have any CD keys. I'm going to assume it goes for so much because I think it was the last Mac Operating System to run on PowerPCs. I can't imagine people having that much of a problem with Snow Leopard that they'd pay over $80 more just to get Leopard.

Anyway, I really haven't found too much recently. I just picked up Kirby Tilt 'n Tumble for $6 and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego (MS) for $3 at my local game store. I think what was more notable was what I didn't pick up, a TurboDuo they wanted $200 for. A little too much out of my price range. Still, I've never seen any Turbografx-16 systems before and they had 3 counting the TurboDuo in stock...

The other day I took a chance on a "broken" DS Lite at a garage sale. The lady wanted $20 for it but I was able to talk her down to $12 for it. Pretty jealous of some of the great finds I'm seeing. Fortunately I have some stuff I'm happy about from the past few days. Friday at a garage sale I found a 2600 jr w/ 3 commons with no price. Offered $3 which was taken. It works great, though only 1 of the 2 sticks with it works. Also found GBC Harvest Moon, Pokemon Silver, and a Monster Rancher game for $0.25 each.

Yesterday I picked up this GBASP lot off CL for $35.

Story Time!
So this stuff was advertised with misc. other games from a variety of systems. The way he had it priced, I was going to spend $32 for Mario Kart, SSB, Ogre Battle (it was not listed as complete), and Chrono Trigger. Emailed on early Sunday morning, so by this morning I figured I would never hear from the guy. I did get an email early this morning, though with his number and I called within minutes of getting the email. Talked very briefly and set up to meet at 11.30 this morning because he has an interview. Oddly enough, that interview was in 6 minutes and he had to put on a shirt, but he was just casually talking to me. So that tells you something if the dude is talking to me 6 minutes before an interview. This was at about 9.30am.

He expected the interview to go until 11 or so, but at 9.50 he calls and says the interview was a bust so I could come right away. Then he vents a little saying how the guy was mad since he wore shorts and asked what the pay and hours were. So I bust hump to get the kids in the car and drive the 35 minutes. In the meantime he apparently got a call and someone was going to buy just Ogre, SSB, and Zelda MM (listed in ad as w/ box only) for $60. And he'd agreed to that sale. The buyer was working so the buyer's mother was on her way.

So as much of a douche thing as that was, not even calling me or anything, the dude is clearly unemployed with shitty prospects and living in his parents house, so it isn't like I'm going to talk him into sticking with the deal we'd agreed on. To his credit, he pretty quickly offered to make me a deal if I bought some more stuff since I'd driven all the way. Poor guy also talked about how he'd had 3 copies of Zelda OOT stolen over the years all right after he'd reached the dark temple (or whatever it is called). Then he tossed out the Earthbound guide and said that game had been stolen, too!

So I looked through what he had and picked out all that stuff and paid $80. I stipulated the $60 for the 3 games and with his prices the rest would have been $31.

too long, I know, sorry.

short addendum: the manilla folder is a printout of a pretty extensive walkthrough of OgreBattle 64. Also, the Ogre and MM manuals were MIA at the time I left. Luckily I went to a garage sale around the corner (very odd for a Monday) and shortly after he called saying he'd found the manuals among a bunch of PC game boxes he'd let me look through (nothing special). So I had to turn around and it cost me an extra 10 minutes, but well worth it.

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/Finds/finds223b.jpg
Saw this on CL today, and I've been in the market for a PSP. Advertised at $100 for the PeaceWalker bundle, and sealed games for $10. He let me have the Lego game for $5, so $105 for a pretty much new PSP3000. Too bad he didn't have the box for it :(

Well today was weird.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2010-07-27a.jpg
$2 each. Descent 3 is a Mac version and there's people selling disc only copies on eBay for more than $50. o_O There's a used copy for $20 on Amazon. I figure it's rare, but -that- rare? Eh, I can probably get $25 for it. Fine with me I guess. :p

The Sailor Moon thing is... well I thought it was that Adventures of Sailor Moon game that I bought years ago, but it's actually a Colorforms set for computers. Kinda like a KISS doll set or something. I figured it might be worth a trade.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2010-07-27b.jpg

Ah, the irony. I got all these CDs for a buck each. And guess what? I downloaded two of them last night and was working on getting the third! The CDs are:

Lynyrd Skynyrd - One More From The Road
John Cougar Mellencamp - Scarecrow
The Who - Who's Next
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced
Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon

I got both the Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd albums yesterday, both FLAC vinyl album rips. And The Who album was up next. Oh, irony, how you like to smile at me sometimes.

I passed on three PS1 games: Wheel Of Fortune 2nd Edition, Family Feud, and Ford Racing. All were in good shape, but I already know the seller, and she would've wanted $8 for each at least... maybe I'll get 'em tomorrow if they're still there.

This past weekend's finds (click pics for full size):

http://www.killedaway.com/images/yardsales/snesgenesiscastlememtn.jpg (http://www.killedaway.com/images/yardsales/snesgenesiscastlemem.jpg)
GEN Altered Beast (missing manual), 6-Pak (complete), Arcade Classics (complete), Home Alone (complete), $8 for all
SNES Tetris & Dr. Mario, Yoshi's Island, Tetris Attack, Super Mario All-Stars, $10 for all
GC Pokemon Box memory card
DS Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin (complete), $7 for both

I'm most excited about 6-Pak and Arcade Classics. I already have these games, but they're both cartridge-only and I pretty much never see these games complete. More than that, they're in excellent condition; they look like someone just opened them. Very cool!

The Pokemon Box memory card really stings. I mean, it's a cool little find, but obviously the best part is missing: the game! I asked the guy who was selling if he had the game that goes with it, but he said no, and didn't seem to know which one I was talking about. I'm guessing the game sold by itself earlier that morning. Oh well, someday... At least now I have the memory card in case I find the game by itself.

XB Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic
DC 102 Dalmatians, Frogger 2, Vanishing Point, Walt Disney World Magical Racing Tour, Xtreme Sports, (everything complete), $10 for all

These Dreamcast titles may not be award winners, but with the exception of Magical Racing Tour, I didn't have them in my collection yet, so I was very excited to have found them. They're all in pretty good shape, too. My DC collection is approaching the 100 mark.

SNES Super Advantage controller in box, $4.50
GB Original Game Boy in carrying case with 3 games (Panel Action Bingo, Tetris, Tetris 2) and manuals, $7
Table Top arcade Frogger game, $2

I probably overpaid for the Super Advantage, but I just to rescue it! It still has its box! The seller wanted five dollars for it, and I argued for $3 and then $4 until I was blue in the face, but he wasn't having it. He leaned a little and said he'd do $4.50. Fine.

The Game Boy was a neat little find. It's like my billionth one, but I didn't have Bingo or Tetris 2 yet, so I had to have it. He wanted $10 for everything. I asked if he'd sell a couple of the games separate and he said, "Sure. Five bucks each". I told him most folks wouldn't give him more than $5 for everything and he countered with $8. I offered $7 and he accepted. Some people are just weird.

That Frogger game is actually the second one I've bought. I had one years ago in far worse shape and I ended up selling it because the peeling and faded stickers drove me nuts. This one is pretty nice overall, but the top sticker is half torn-off. Darn kids (or whoever). I'll probably keep this one and display it.

http://www.killedaway.com/images/yardsales/oddsends0727tn.jpg (http://www.killedaway.com/images/yardsales/oddsends0727.jpg)
Odds & ends:

DC NCAA 2K2 College Football: Road to the Rose Bowl (complete)
PSX Final Fantasy IX (missing manual and disc 1), $2 for both
SNES Super Nintendo (no cables), $1
XB Project Snowblind, Galleon, Steel Battalion, $5 for all

Another DC game off my list. Yay! I won't be playing it, but somehow I don't think that's gonna upset anyone.

Final Fantasy IX is my first copy of the game and sadly, it's missing disc 1. It's missing the manual too, but that's not as big of a deal. I always buy these orphan games when they're cheap because I almost always end up finding the missing pieces later on.

Finally, the Xbox games were a really cool find because I can't find my copy of Steel Battalion and I want to test one of my SB controllers. Perfect!

http://www.killedaway.com/images/yardsales/17nesgamestn.jpg (http://www.killedaway.com/images/yardsales/17nesgames.jpg)
NES Defender II, American Gladiators, Quattro Sports, Big Nose the Caveman, Tiny Toon Adventures, DuckTales, Motor City Patrol, Sesame Street Countdown, Millipede, Ms. Pac-Man, Freedom Force, Crystalis, Mega Man 3, Balloon Fight, Wrecking Crew, Adventure Island 3, Monopoly (with manual and poster), 9 game sleeves, $12 for all

Aw yeah, finally got a copy of Crystalis! I've been looking for this game for a good price (and in good condition) for a while and now I've got it. Can't wait to play it. Balloon Fight was another game that I've wanted for a while. I used to play this a lot as a kid, so this title carries a little nostalgia with it. Adventure Island 3 was the icing on the cake. This is only the second time I've seen it in the wild; I sold my last copy years back and figured I'd never see it again. This one's staying put.

This weekend also marks my NES collection breaking the 300 mark!

Not worth the pics but I did get a small cache of game stuff at the lot sale.

SNES system, with yellowed top - $5
Small pile of common Atari 2600 games, with the most notable being Atlantis and Turmoil - $0.50 a piece.
Lonely yellowed NES in need of cleaning, retr0bright, and perhaps repair - $3
Atari 2600 Jr. system, with no hookups except a single Star Raiders touchpad attached - $3
ACDC Back In Black and an REO Speedwagon album IN 8-TRACK FORMAT!!! - $0.50 a piece (I have decided I want to beef up my 8-track collection, now it's at 7 tapes!)

aaand that's it, I really didn't find much, but like I said I did get a lil' cache of video game stuff.

I also got a pair of speakers from the 50s, in handmade solid wood cabinets. They are very heavy. I can't wait for a chance to open them and see what lies within!

From the looks of the grill and cabinets I thought they were from the 50s, but after looking inside them I've found out that they are actually from the 60s or 70s.

And they're made by Grundig, a German audio electronics company O_o. They say "Lautsprecher Kombination LS-22" on the inside. Interesting... I did not expect German electronics inside.

Sorry no pics:

Today on CL I picked up a CDX with all cords for $40! I was very skeptical that it would not work...But, tried it there and it works great, and is flawless.

As I was walking out the door the gentleman says that he has the older version of the CDX too. I ask to see it and he goes and pulls out a saturn (I'll take his error on sytems). He has no cords, but says he'll throw it in just for my trouble of coming out. I happily take it and leave. Upon returning home I hooked it up to my existing Saturn connectors and no problem (other than the game save battery). I also found a nice copy of Croc in the unit too.

Overall a nice day for craigslist!

Toe Jam + Earl is complete and was $2. The CDX with all the Sega CD games was... $25 total. The system is in decent shape other than the A/V cable, the plug's been cut up and rewired (it actually fell apart in my hands) but it can be replaced easily, I think. I plugged it in and it works, and it outputs audio, but I'm too scared to hotwire the video myself. :\

I thought I had a Genesis 2 A/V cable around but I can't find it.

I'm not sure if I should sell this or use it instead of my Genesis 1 + SCD 2 set... Can this be modded for S-Video?

ETA: Well, I hotwired the video cable and the Genesis part works. The CD... does not. It spins up the disc for two seconds, then winds down, does this two more times, then it says there's no CD. I don't hear anything grinding, so I'm not sure what's up. I tested some SCD games and a normal audio CD. :(

Picked up a few NES games from a local video store.

Adventures of Tom Sawyer
Alpha Mission
Ikari Warriors II: Victory Road w/ manual
Mad Max w/ manual
Overlord w/ manual
Target Renegade
Time Lord
Twin Cobra

$2.50 each

All are former rentals and have a few stickers on them, but I am usually pretty good at cleaning them up. They came in the plastic clamshell cases that they were rented out in, so I failed to see that Alpha Mission's label is torn up. :(

All for free.

We are an e-waste drop off at my store, and someone brought in that whole box to recycle. I'm going to throw in a new 72-pin, bring some of my better dupes (mario, tetris, etc), and hook it up in the break room. Fun times ;)

A couple of Craigslist related finds today…First one was someone listing 2 Game Gears and games for $20:

http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/8372/gamegears.jpg

When I met the guy, he actually had a bit more, including 2 soft cases, a cleaning kit, a battery pack, and a Game Gear link cable – something I hadn’t seen before. Since he also had 2 copies of Streets of Rage, I’m guessing that it is a link game. I’ll have to find a list of what games are linkable and start doubling up. Was happy to pay 20 bucks for this lot.

Next was a Craigslist rummage that claimed to have a lot of video games. I was only able to get there near the end, but was surprised to see that there was still a tableful of games and hardware. The games were mostly sports and common titles, but the hardware was a different story:

http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/9928/dslitemicro.jpg

The Crimson DS Lite and accessories was marked $40, while the Gameboy Micro and accessories was marked $20. All were in great shape and powered up right away. I offered $50 for both and they said sold. I’ve been looking for a Micro, but have been resisting the DS up till now…guess I’ll have to start picking up cheap DS games.

Thank you Craigslist!

While the screen is really tiny, the GB Micro is easily my favorite version of the GBA. The size, landscape configuration and controls are excellent. Very nice pickup!

Oh man. Today was good, but it sucked.

First off, some forum purchases:

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2010-07-30a.jpg

I bought all of that for $49 shipped. The games were cheap, but the shipping was not (not the guy's fault, though). Still, I managed to get a ton of games I'd been looking for and I had some extra disposable income so what the hell. I had to pass on a few games I wanted. :(

The bad thing, though? I almost got fined with import fees by Mexican customs. Yes, really. (Remember, I live in Mexico.) I told the agent that it cost me $49 but since I didn't have a receipt she didn't believe me, and she wanted to fine me, but I managed to convince her otherwise and she let me off with a warning. The thing is, Mexican customs doesn't care if the item is old and outdated - if it's a video game, and you don't have a receipt, you CAN get fined. They've been checking up on everyone this past week (due to drug busts and school supply things, I guess) and it's making me nervous. If they keep this up I won't be able to buy anything and bring it home by foot. This WILL be a problem for me since I depend on my flea market purchases to survive. :\ I'm gonna have to ask people to include actual receipts whenever I purchase something. Bloody hell. This is going to suck so much. Fucking government leeches...

She couldn't fine me for these though:

Mexican customs are tough. I once shipped a copy of Killzone 2 to Mexico and the guy asked me to include a PayPal receipt for that specific reason.

Yesterday I picked up a PS One with two Dualshock controllers and the cables for $6. Normally I wouldn't buy a PS One but this place is a local charity that does good things for the community. I have no problems overspending for a good cause.

It's especially hard for those of us who live in the border regions. We get taxed to hell on anything.

And I CAN'T ship anything from within Mexico either. The POST OFFICE has a customs clerk and they won't let you ship anything without a receipt that proves you bought it and paid for it. Jesus. I hate this stupid country so fucking much sometimes.

It is Church Sale Mania near me. I went to 2 yesterday, and 1 today. Now there are 2 tomorrow morning, but its not worth going to them late, so we are picking the one that looks better and hoping for the best. We know the area really well, its a trendy area with money. They have a lotus and aston martin dealer and bmw dealer, you name it they have it.

This was all from the 1 sale yesterday. Everything other than the NES games was $2 total. It was all stuffed in a box marked $2. The nes games were 50 cents each. I also got a mint condition pink floyd the wall lp which is not pictured for 50 cents.

The sale today sucked ass. Last year at the church I got a dreamcast with one of those arcade sticks that goes for big bucks. This time they had a genesis with about 7 games, 3 were boxed. It was marked $10, but I passed because I already have a million genesis systems and no titled stood out from the ordinary.

And I think Monterrey is different. I live -next- to the border, and Monterrey is around 50 miles away, isn't it? We have different rules, or so they used to tell me.

Thanks in part to some bills, I haven't had much free money to go to any garage sales, although I did have some on my to hit a few sales this morning:

- Final Fantasy VII Official Strategy Guide (Used, obviously; seeing as it is a little beaten-up): $3
- Heavy Rain (PS3. Used in mint condition): $15
- Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete (PSX. Used in near mint condition, with everything except the soundtrack CD): $35

The FF7 guide was something I had been wanting for a long time, and finding Heavy Rain at such a low price was very shocking. Seeing as I don't have a PS3 yet, and since the price of this game would likely drop by the time I did get one (Seeing as a used copy typically sells for $50 around here at the moment), I went ahead and sold it to a friend of mine; turing a $20 profit in the process; that money being used to get that copy of Lunar 2.

The copy of Lunar 2 is in very good shape; the cardboard box and the game case have some shelf wear and the soundtrack CD is missing (It's sleeve is still there, though), but everything else is in almost new condition. Speaking of...does anybody know if I can just get the game's soundtrack by it's self, in order to complete my copy?

Ive had a nose for cd's recently. There was an estate sale that had advertised on craigslist 500 cds. I did not start there in favor of the church sale that I antcipated to be really good. Well, the church sale was absolutely terrible. I got nothing. So in a panic we made our way to the estate sale. The reason we didnt start at the estate sale is because it is a professionally run one, and they usually charge $2 or $3 a cd with no discounts at all until noon. So we got to the estate sale at around 9, and there were probably 350-375 cds left. At first the titles were not impressing me and I found out they were $2 a cd. I asked the lady running the sale if I pick out a hundred or so whether she will make me a deal. She said yea we will do something. Well turns out I quickly had 200 in my pile I wanted. It is all not a type of music I have ever heard of much, its all mostly I guess what would be referred to as new age, large collections of Chris Botti, Peter White, Acoustic Alchemy, Pat Metheny, Wayman Tisdale, Buckethead. Now I knew of the Rippingtons and Etta James. But he was also into just guitar music in general, he had many Jaco Pastorius and Joe Satriani albums, many albums were even a year old or less. Strangely, there was a large collection of about 15 megadeth albums. and others like Buddy Holly and Dire Straits, others which he had multiples of. So once I had that many she said she'd even go a buck a piece, so I ended up grabbing about 50 more, lol, I have a hard time passing on anything. I paid $235 in the end for around 250 cds. I cant believe how much value there is in these new wave jazz artists. Im guessing real early any led zeppelin or beatles went, that kind of stuff. But I still found about 3 Rolling Stones, a bob dylan, 3 eric clapton, 3 Marilyn Manson, 3 Boston, some good oldies like the turtles, bobby darin, frankie valli. It was just a real odd mix. I also lucked out finding a few rare and live cds, and everything I bought is mint and complete with all artwork. Well theres my story, I am sorry its so long, I am just so excited about them.

The best outing that I've had in a few weeks.

Vintage Eskimo fan - $1.50
HP computer w/ keyboard & mouse (works) - $10
Sirius InV2 (brand new) - $12.99
Realistic Equalizer - $2.99
XBox w/ two games and cables (works) - $15
Life Line for the PS2 - $5
Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 for the PS3 (disc only) - $2

The guy I bought the Life Line game from (really didn't want to pay $5 but have always wanted to play this) thought he was a genius. He had purchased a lot of cheap games from Gamestop, removed the stickers, and had them marked up. He even tried to persuade me to buy a toaster NES missing the door for $35. :\

Has it been repainted? The paint job looks too perfect for a vintage fan. It's neat nontheless.

Sales were bad today, not many at all and the decent finds were sparse. I stopped at one sale and dug through some old boxed computer software and pulled out a copy of Sid Meier's Civilization, boxed and minty. The box is heavy so it seems there is either a lot of stuff inside or more than one game. That was $1

At another sale I dug through some old boxed computer shovelware (Man, how could anyone pass up a 5,000 clipart image collection from 1994!?) and pulled Mission pack 2 (http://www.mobygames.com/game/spear-of-destiny-mission-disks-mission-2-return-to-danger) & 3 (http://www.mobygames.com/game/spear-of-destiny-mission-disks-mission-3-ultimate-challenge) for the old Wolfenstein prequel Spear of Destiny (http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/spear-of-destiny), both boxed and mint in 3 1/2" floppy format. Am I a terrible PC gamer for never playing Wolfenstein? I guess this is an excuse for me to track down Spear of Destiny. Those were $0.50, btw. Are they worth anything? I don't see the seperate mission packs on eBay, just the CD that contains all the missions in one.

Also, since people have been sharing their electronic finds I got a pair of vintage Koss K 2+2 quadraphonic headphones (http://members.cox.net/quadraphonic/headphones/KOSS%20K-2+2%20Quadrafone%201.JPG). They were $1, and it's a shame because the wires going to the headphones have been cut, although the original curly "telephone cord" type cords that were originally there are wrapped around the headphones. I have a friend who loves old electronics like these and he's going to flip when he sees them.

Yes, it's been repainted. The picture makes it appear better than it is but it's still a neat, old piece. I bought it from an elderly man who likely purchased it new decades ago. Can't decide whether I'm going to keep it or sell it; the fan speed, like many vintage fans, is incredible.

And no, you can never have enough 5,000 clip art CD's. Never.

I did pass up on a cartridge only Sonic Blast (Game Gear) for $3 today. Seems it has a rarity of four. Oh well, I'm going back to the same place next week and I'll pick it up if it's still there.

Today's stuff:

Zelda 4 Swords GC $2 from yardsale
Metroid Prime 3 Wii $8 From yardsale
Donkey Kong Hockey (Nintendo Micro VS from 1984...really nice shape!) $5 from thrift
Box of like 20 pounds of Magic the Gathering Cards. $15 from thrift
I don't know really anything about these, I bought them for my partner.
They weren't all land cards, they were in pretty decent shape, and I noticed a few rares.
He'll have fun going through them. I'll report back if there was anything fabulous (which I doubt)
