Today is a nice back-to-basics day with LRG. No new overpriced CEs or mountains of merch. Just two games with base releases. There's Chronus Arc for PS4 and Vita and The Escapists for Switch. Me, I'm always happy to add another Kemco RPG to my Vita collection, so I'm glad to grab a copy of Chronus Arc.

I see kof97 finally sold out but i pass,it's a okay one in the series but kof98 is the better one period. Then again if lrg could have done one for samurai shodown 5 special id be sold on that.Right now, nothing interest me currently for what's lrg selling.Just this past friday though i did finally get my copy of dust elysian tail for the switch.Kind of annoying that it's release was delayed due to it needed a rating before the game ship but that's fine. Also recently i decided to give strictly limited games a try and i put down a order for r-type dimensions on switch.

A pretty exciting sales day today with Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon for Switch, PS4, and Vita. There's a CE version for every platform, and the standard versions for PS4 and Switch are open preorders. Standard Switch copies will be available at Best Buy too. LRG also has A Hole New World for PS4 up for sale and, bizarrely, a NES version of its soundtrack. The first batch for everything with finite quantities is already sold out, so check back at 6pm Eastern if you missed out.

I got a Vita CE of Curse of the Moon myself. I also recently got the last of my 2018 LRG orders: Defender's Quest, Dragon Sinker, Night Trap, and Siralim 2. But I'm pretty disappointed and frustrated in the fact that Night Trap on Vita is apparently glitched and unbeatable right now. Hopefully a patch will come, but it's pretty ridiculous that physical copies were manufactured of a broken game. It's not like it's even a long one to play through beginning to end.

I preorder bloodstain cotm for switch and it's just the standard edition, good enough for me.Beside just yesterday i did get windjammers for the switch from lrg it's one of my favorites on the neo-geo so having it portable is a plus for me.

I almost forgot about it since it's another one of their weird releases that don't fall on Fridays, but LRG put up Project LUX today, adding to their small PSVR library. Seems to be a relatively slow seller, so there's still a good chunk in stock even now.

Today LRG is selling there first (and presumably only) Wii U game, Axiom Verge: Multiverse Edition, which has a doozy of a story behind it:

https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2019-03-15-axiom-verge-producer-files-suit-against-badland-publishing-for-usd200k

They're also selling Stikbold for PS4 and Bomb Chicken for Switch and PS4. The latter has open preorders for both platforms.

I'm passing on everything today, but I'm really looking forward to getting Nurse Love Syndrome for Vita, which was just announced. Here I was thinking The House in Fata Morgana and Sharin no Kuni was about all we had left to look forward to on Vita in terms of visual novels, but now we have Nurse Love Syndrome, the first Utawarerumono coming digitally from NIS America, and there are rumblings that London Detective Mysteria could be getting a physical release through LRG too. I'm already enjoying London Detective Mysteria digitally, but I'm definitely down for a physical copy and would love to see its reach expand so that more discover it.

SRG is not bad. They had a pretty rocky start, but I think they've gotten everything figured out now. I've always gotten my games without an issue from them. A lot of the games they release are usually of high quality, in my eyes. I've spent a lot of time on enter the gungeon as well as the Shadow Warrior games they released.

Today LRG has got Dragon Fantasy: Volumes of Westeria and Forma.8 for sale, each for both PS4 and Vita. The first batch of the Vita versions went pretty fast, despite that there are more Vita copies of Forma.8 than PS4 copies.

The prequel to Nurse Love Addiction, Nurse Love Syndrome, was put up for sale for Vita today (both digitally and physically). I predict Degica's digital sales are going to be crap when they're pricing a Vita game at $40 at this point, but despite LRG's physical release being even higher yet, they still sold out of the first batch of standard copies lightning fast. Only collector's edition copies remain at the moment. LRG is also selling Alone With You for Vita and PS4, in both standard copies and a "Classic Edition". LRG has used "Classic Edition" to describe their retro-style collector's editions before, but this one doesn't seem to be a genuine limited edition. It seems to just be a soundtrack bundle, except instead of a standard jewel case and insert, it's in a Sega CD-style longbox with a manual for the game. Right now, all that's left of Alone With You is standard PS4 copies.

I missed making updates on previous stuff, but LRG has open preorders for Minit for Switch and PS4. It's another Special Reserve release where LRG is distributing a cover variant. They also have open preorders on Giga Wrecker Alt. on PS4 and Switch, some CE copies of the PS4 version of Giga Wrecker Alt. left, and if you're desperate for a Switch CE of Giga Wrecker Alt. and/or The First Tree for PS4, they're still available via the April 12th mega-bundle.

As for myself, all I've picked up among this stuff is a Nurse Love Syndrome CE and a standard copy of Alone With You for Vita.

LRG has another VR game today with Prison Boss VR. The first batch is already sold out, but there will be more available at 6 pm Eastern.

Personally, I'm more interested in Vblank selling a new run of Retro City Rampage for Vita. I wasn't collecting for Vita when the original run was offered, so I made sure to grab a copy today. The packaging isn't exactly the same as the original run, so those who care about variants may want one of each.

I finally got the opening post updated with the recent releases. I hope everybody who wanted Lumines and/or Jak 3 got a copy, and Aegis Defenders for Switch and PS4 and Battle Garegga for PS4 are still available.

A lot of my orders have been coming in recently. I got a big box of seven Vita games (three of them CEs) from that brief window when I could combine my orders. Then Forma.8 and Dragon Fantasy showed up, and Nurse Love Syndrome and Alone With You should arrive tomorrow. The only unfulfilled order I have left is my Bloodstained CE. Now to just find the time to open and try out everything.

LRG is selling a trio of PS4 games today: Desert Child, Strikers Edge, and The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker.

Today LRG is selling Dragon's Lair Trilogy (both standard and CE copies) for Switch, and they're finally selling Tharsis for PS4, after announcing it like a million years ago.

I'm waiting for next Friday myself, when they'll be selling The House in Fata Morgana and London Detective Mysteria. For me, LRG has never had a more exciting day of releases, and I've never been more nervous about the prospect of them selling out before I can get my order in. I've never missed out on anything thus far, so I'm hoping it'll go well.

What's kind of crazy is that, right now, I have no outstanding LRG orders. That was basically unthinkable not that long ago. I guess that's one benefit to Western Vita card production ending and also the end of combining orders. Since all the games are already manufactured, the only thing holding up my orders now is the other components of CEs.

For anyone who still visits the LRG forums, I wouldn't go there right now (especially if at work). Someone completely spammed each topic with pretty gross porn. I'm sure curiosity may get the best of some, but just don't go (especially if BLIXNRIXR was the last to comment on a post...which is every topic).

Aussie2B
05-30-2019, 08:58 AM
Yeah, I just discovered that myself this morning. It's nice that LRG didn't totally pull the plug on the forum and passed it off to the regulars, but as far as I know, they only gave mod powers to one person. I don't know if the mod has the ability to make more mods or even ban users. The spammer is definitely taking advantage of the power vacuum going on over there.

It's too bad too, because I get a lot of my info there. I mean, I could technically still go there, but I think once is enough for seeing that image. I'm good until it gets cleaned up.

I'm going to switch the topic quickly here and just say that I got my Jak 3 standard, Lumines Remastered standard for Switch, AND....My PS4 Curse of the Moon Collectors edition within' the past couple weeks. I honestly believe that the changes that LRG have made to their business have worked for the better. My games are getting shipped in a timely fashion, I like the new web design, and they have really had a little something for everyone as far as titles and genres go. The only change that I wish wasn't made was keeping the stock % listed. Even thats not a big deal and I can see why they changed it.

I've been buying from them for awhile. There can be some annoyances like long wait times for shipping, and some folks don't like the stress of having to buy right when a title goes on sale. There have been some other things here and there mostly for intl buyers. At the end of the day, if you successfully purchase the game you want, it will make its way to your mailbox. Also a lot of titles have maintain value pretty well, so you know you won't be spending $60 on a game and go to sell it 4 months later for $15. While you won't always be able to MAKE money off the titles, I haven't seen any values completely tank to sub $10 values (unless someone can show me otherwise).

Aussie2B
05-30-2019, 04:29 PM
Lowest I've seen them drop is sub $20. I've been selling off some of their PS4 games I bought years ago, and I've been having trouble getting some to move at a price point where I'd break even (so, the cost I paid for the game + plus the shipping LRG charged me + eBay and PayPal fees + the cost for me to mail them off to a buyer). But I'm in no hurry to sell, so I can just as well hold on to them and see if the values increase later on.

mailman187666
05-31-2019, 09:56 AM
Also if you are selling used copies, it is going to affect the value (on some titles drastically). My point above was that even if you lose money on the sale, it's not as often as wide of a margin as it is when selling used "store bought" games. When I sell LRG, it is either because I played it and don't care to hold onto it, or need the money for other expenses. I won't sell if I'm getting less for a sealed copy than what I paid. I'd rather hold onto it.

Aussie2B
05-31-2019, 10:46 AM
Yeah. In my case, all the ones I'm selling are still sealed.

Visual Novel Friday has finally come, and it's been a bit of a mess. People were having so many issues with the new site that LRG actually reverted back to the old design. I lucked out and didn't run into any problems myself, so I'm relieved to have successfully purchased the soundtrack bundle for London Detective Mysteria and the Vita CE of The House in Fata Morgana. An expensive order for me this time, but I've been looking forward to Fata Morgana more than practically anything else that's been on LRG's upcoming list, and I already have played and loved Mysteria.

Yesterday, LRG put up Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight for Switch and Airheart and Psychonauts for PS4. There are open preorders for standard copies of Momodora and Psychonauts, and both of those have CEs too, but Momodora's CE is only available via the mega-bundle at this point. Similarly, Airheart is only available via that or its soundtrack bundle now.

Nothing for me, but I'm looking forward to LRG's E3 stream on Monday. Among other things, they'll be revealing all of their remaining Vita releases.

Momodora is worth picking up if you're interested in the style of game. It's not very long for it's style though and doesn't really have too many areas it feels like. The gameplay is good though and I like how it's difficult but well balanced. There's no leveling up which is nice, there's usable and passive items that you can acquire as you progress as well as the rare ability upgrade.

Oddworld: New N' Tasty for PS3 (with both standard and CE copies) and Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack!!! and Guacamelee! for Vita have all been put up for sale today, alongside Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid for Switch and PS4, which went up on Monday during LRG's E3 presentation. Did anyone get their copie of Battle Garrega standard editions in yet? I got mine and read the back of the case and says as follows; "The Legendary Arcade Shoot Em' Up From 1996 Is Back In This Meticulously Craftedrelease That's Sure to Please Both Devoted Fans And A New Generation of Shmup Maniacs"

What I find funny on the back of the box is that within' the same sentence of mentioning how meticulously hand crafted the release was, they forgot to put a space between the words "Crafted" and "Release". Look at the back of the case, if you have the cover variation with the description on the back. It has to be one of THE most ironically made game boxes of all time. I'm not sure ironic is the word I'm looking for though.

I know certain people here will defend it, but remember when LRG stated that they charge $10 more for all titles at a minimum of $25. They've been charging more than $10 each title for the past few weeks now, atleast the only titles I've been interested in purchasing. Bloodstained Curse of the Moon $10, LRG price was $30. Freedom Planet $15, LRG price was $30. Mercenary Kings $15, LRG Price is $30 Transistor $20, LRG price is $35.

And they're selling 90 games per week, maybe if you didn't shove all this bottom of the barrel bullshit week by week you'd actually keep people interested in full set collection, the casual collectors probably wouldn't have been scared out, and you wouldn't be selling worse than you've ever been for not just the PS4 but the Switch as well lately. And unfortunately other limited publishers are requiring to do lower sales amounts on their games as well because LRG's greed is cannibalizing the market.

A friend of mine told me what the acronym for LRG really means, and it couldn't be any more perfect for this company. LRG. Literal Representation of Greed.

Heads up for LRG overcharging tax.

I was charged a 1% Allegheny County Tax (that's Pittsburgh for those not from around here).
Both Pittsburgh and Philadelphia (2%) have additional sales tax - obviously only for residents of those cities/counties.
I don't live in either, so LRG wrongly charged my orders an extra 1%
The extra $5 or so isn't a huge deal, not that I appreciate them taking extra money from me, mainly I wonder how many other people are being charged extra taxes improperly.

What's essentially a loose repro with 10 cents worth of cardboard and plastic for $40.

Shadows of the Empire is worse, considering it's $5 more and there's the fact that you can buy the original game for less than $5 shipped on Ebay. You can buy a mint complete edition for less than the standard version LRG is selling.

The Star Wars releases aren't going to end anytime soon, since they announced a whole boatload of them. I have zero interest in them myself, considering I don't care about the Star Wars franchise in general, I haven't played any Star Wars game I thought was particularly good, and I would sooner buy the cheaper, fully official (as in, licensed by Nintendo) versions of the ones I don't already have. The only repros I would even consider buying would be of games that are very expensive on the secondhand market.

Anyone here knows where I could still get LRG The Tribute Treasure Box for Switch?

I would assume eBay is your best bet. You could look around on forums and social media to see if any collectors are selling directly to other collectors, but there's no guarantee their prices would be any better than eBay.

Greg2600
07-25-2019, 12:10 PM
Well there's plenty of GREAT Star Wars games, but these aren't them. In fact, Shadows on PC was far superior, and they should have just offered that on PS4 or something. In terms of swag, I still have the PC soundtrack CD, which was excellent, if you dig Star Wars music. Not dumb coins or posters.

Is it greed on LRG part? It's really about the nutcases who have to collect EVERYTHING. Their M.O. was physical copies for digital only games, which was fine. This repro stuff is nuts, but they're not the only ones. You have other indie publishers now selling total repro CIB cart games, and yes, people clamor for them. Even if the original is $200 rare game, who cares? Buy an Everdrive if you NEED to play on original hardware. Buying a repro game to me is the dumbest thing.

Aussie2B
07-25-2019, 01:27 PM
If a repro is 100% unauthorized, then yeah, you may as well pirate since goodness knows who your money is going to with those repros. There's often a fine line, if any line at all, between repros and bootlegs, and a lot of these "repros" coming out of China are only different from traditional Chinese bootlegs in that they're not contemporary with the original, official release. And when you're talking Chinese bootlegs, you very well may be funding organized crime. I think a lot of people are inclined to be dismissive of that, since they can't picture their niche hobbies like retro games, anime, soundtracks, etc. having anything to do with literal mafias, but those people will try to make a buck wherever they see one to be made, even if it means selling "nerdy" goods.

On the other hand, you've got partially licensed repros like these from LRG. They're not licensed by the hardware manufacturers, since a company like Nintendo obviously isn't in the business of putting out new releases on long ago retired hardware, but they're licensed and authorized by the publisher of the IP. In this case, your money actually does reach the people who made the game (or published it, at least), so that's preferable over pirating. (Granted, that's also preferable to the publisher over people buying secondhand copies of the original release, but when you put out a physical product, you have to expect reselling.)

Greg2600
07-25-2019, 02:23 PM
I'm not even thinking piracy, it's more a question of authenticity. It's not a true release, in my book, so there's no "collecting value."

As for the IP's, well they're normally worth hundreds of billions so this is like a speck to them either way. The old publishing houses are mostly dead, and you're just making some vampire/garbage picker a tiny pittance.

Aussie2B
07-25-2019, 03:28 PM
In the grand scheme of things, "collecting value" is totally in the eye of the beholder. No games, authentic or not, have any collecting value to someone who has no interest in games. On the flip side, plenty of people have all sorts of fanmade items related to games like art prints, comics, music CDs, etc., just because they enjoy having them, even though they're not licensed in any shape or form. Fanmade items can even command some decent monetary value on the secondhand market sometimes.

I bring up piracy since that's what using an Everdrive amounts to. You may as well go that route if the repros are effectively physical pirates. But when there's a reasonable way to buy legally, either by buying a used copy or some form of currently available licensed (whether fully or partially licensed) copy, I'll always go that route. But I'll always go for the fully licensed copy over the partially licensed copy unless we're talking a game where the original is like $100+. But realistically, I already have so many games that I'd probably just skip an expensive game entirely rather than drop money on a repro.

Gameguy
07-25-2019, 08:15 PM
From what I remember those Star Wars games on the NES and Gameboy were almost unplayable and aren't worth owning today. Those games don't need any reprints, I would prefer if some fan translated games finally got official releases like Sweet Home or Clock Tower. Those would be worth buying unlike these rereleases.

On the other hand, you've got partially licensed repros like these from LRG. They're not licensed by the hardware manufacturers, since a company like Nintendo obviously isn't in the business of putting out new releases on long ago retired hardware, but they're licensed and authorized by the publisher of the IP. It's funny how the terminology within collecting has changed over the years as people used to refer to cartridges from Tengen or Camerica as "unlicensed" while those weren't pirated and were made and approved of by the rights holders of those games.

I remember people used to like repros except for destroying existing games during the production of them, back before flash carts were a thing. It used to be the only way to play unreleased games on actual hardware, and they usually weren't too expensive to make back then, and they were only made by hobbyists with decent soldering skills as they took actual effort to produce. Times have changed quite a bit since then.

Also people used to collect pirated games like multicarts as they were somewhat rare pieces of interest, now they're just treated like trash entirely.

Fanmade items can even command some decent monetary value on the secondhand market sometimes.
Like the English Mother 3 strategy guide which was made by the fan translators of the game. Some fan produced stuff is actually interesting and high quality.

I wouldn't say terminology has really changed. It just has to account for a wider range of scenarios these days. Tengen and Camerica NES carts are still referred to as unlicensed. In that case, it's just shorthand for "unlicensed by Nintendo". Back when the NES was alive, everything fell into the categories of licensed, unlicensed, or pirated. Identifying an NES game from back then as unlicensed distinguishes it from bootlegs, so it goes without saying that the game is authorized by those who developed it. A key distinction between those and games like LRG's Star Wars rereleases is that unlicensed games that came out when the NES was alive COULD have been licensed. These publishers just chose to release unlicensed games because they didn't want to pay Nintendo's licensee fees, or maybe they didn't want to be limited to five NES releases a year, or maybe they just didn't have the confidence that their games would get the Nintendo Seal of Quality right off the bat and would require costly revisions at Nintendo's behest. On the other hand, modern NES releases literally have no option but to be unlicensed from Nintendo.

I wouldn't expect fan-translated games from LRG, or anybody else trying to do things as officially and legally as possible. Fan translations almost never make the transition to official localizations. It's legally murky, and even if you go that route, you still need professionals to comb through the translation to confirm its accuracy, edit, perform QA, etc. It's too costly of an endeavor for an old game that's only going to be available via a couple thousand physical copies. And doing an official localization from scratch is even more cost prohibitive. It only worked for The House in Fata Morgana because it's on modern systems, is available digitally as well, and likely used the PC localization as a base.

I think, at this point, I'm probably never going to get caught up on my master list of LRG releases. It's lacking the most recent info going back to the June 28th sale. LRG is just releasing too much too frequently for me to keep up with, and it gets all the more complicated with all the CEs, open preorders, the fact that nothing is released in sequential order anymore, and so on. On top of that, I'm not interested in buying most of what LRG puts out these days. I've been buying all the Vita releases, but that's it. So if anyone wants to take the reins on my list, you're welcome to do so.

As for my buying, getting the remaining Vita games has been a trying experience. I haven't missed anything completely yet, but I had to retry during the second batch to get the Atari CE. It's frustrating that LRG won't set Vita games to 1 per customer for both batches. And there's the fact they jacked up the price on Revenant Dogma just because they canceled other Kemco Vita RPGs (which I wish they hadn't, as I would've rather had more of those than some of the other remaining Vita releases). And despite the Vita games getting manufactured in advance, I'm building up a decent sized backlog of unfulfilled orders again. Why couldn't they manufacture the CE components in advance too?

I finally received my London Detective Mysteria soundtrack bundle and The House in Fata Morgana CE, and LRG is really dropping the ball with packaging (more than ever), both inside their CEs and for mailing. All that was inside the box to provide padding was a few small, folded up pieces of paper. Even though the shipping box looked just fine, my Mysteria OST showed up with a big crack in its jewel case, and while Fata Morgana's outer box looks fine too, it looks like whoever or whatever packed the CE together didn't give a shit about what they were doing. The section of tray between the game and the OST is torn loose, so those two items are barely gripped in place, and CE box is barely big enough to contain the tray. And it's designed in such a way that you have to pull the whole tray out to access everything, and then you practically need a PhD to get the damn thing back inside. It takes more force than I'm comfortable with to pull things out and put things back in, and I eventually gave up on trying to put the tray in back exactly as it was. Instead, I flipped it around, so the game is facing the back of the box rather than the front. The tray just catches on the opposite flap of the CE box, and the artbook catches on the flap inside the tray too. It's all such a terrible design, and this is what you get for a CE that was a whopping $85. But so many of the people buying LRG's CEs never actually open them up or care about anything but how the outer box looks, so LRG couldn't care less.

I stopped getting LRG CE's as they are just trash for the most part. Most of them are crap fillers, and to make matters worse, they raise the price to an all time high. A huge scam in a way, so I avoid them.

I stopped getting most of their releases. Can't wait for the last 3 Vita releases and I'm done with them. Though I'm going to sell many of them anyway.

I'm having a hard time wanting to give them my business as well.
Just received my Giga Wrecker CE and there was no bubble wrap at all at the ends of the CE box, just a loose wrap around the "waist" of the box.
The shipping box had empty space at the ends, and the CE box was just free to slide back and forth in there. It is crushed and banged-up at both ends.
I've asked for a replacement, we'll see how this works out.

LRG has dug deep, probably as deep as bottom of the barrel trash you can get. If Kemco isn't bad enough, they're now releasing Compile Heart games. They're now the publishers of two of the worst JRPG companies in the industry. It's literally incredible how much absolute sh** they publish on a weekly basis, they've even surpassed my expectations.

I've made it a point to call out Compile Heart games at every turn, I'm sure I've said it here. So proof I'm not crapping on LRG just because it's LRG.

I'll take games from Kemco and Idea Factory International over like 90% of the other stuff LRG releases. I'd prefer IFI just publish their own physical print runs, but it's a good move for LRG and should allow physical print runs of games from more developers than just Compile Heart, though they've made some good games.

It's pretty hilarious that someone who supposedly hates Compile Heart with a passion has a Neptunia avatar in his sig.

It's pretty hilarious that someone who supposedly hates Compile Heart with a passion has a Neptunia avatar in his sig.

The one good thing about the Neptunia games are their characters, atleast somewhat. Some of them I can't stand, but some of the dialogue is great, pretty much anything and everything from Iffy especially. I've never been able to power through and finish any of the games though because they're just complete trash gameplay wise. Now, maybe I'll be able to finish that one made by Sting(amazing dev) but most of their games in general suck.

The last one I've played I bought because it was really reminiscent of Phantasy Star Online. That one 4 Goddesses Online game. When I played it though, unbelievably bad. I can get extra attacks off than intended because you can block mid attack to cancel the animation and then attack again, making the DPS from whichever character was the Samurai class far higher than any other class(atleast as far as I got.) Without grinding I never once had to retry a mission. They kept giving me trophies every minute. It's like in five hours of gameplay I got 40 trophies, basically trophy loaded to try and sucker other people into purchasing the game thinking that the player was collecting trophies because it's so good, but yeah... it's not. Compete garbage. I think I played about 10 hours before I quit. Far more time than this pos game deserved.

I haven't updated my PSN profile in a long time so it doesn't ever update. I've changed my avatar awhile ago to Veronica from DQ11. I'll update it to PSN profiles so it atleast changes.

I watched a review of it and then watched the beginning of the first level of Blazing Chrome. I was already sold after the review, but wanted to see how the level design was for the game in regular play not cutting between areas and looks great, so I'll stopped there and will pick it up. I'm going to wait though because since it's preorder I'll pick it up during a week there's something else I'm interested in.

The only thing I saw in the review that I don't like is the scaling stages. Your characters still run left to right despite the scaling stage coming towards you. I don't see why they couldn't have made your characters run forward and then shoot to the sides. Either way looks pretty awesome.

LRG is publishing Divinity Original Sin 2. While I believe the games biggest design issue comes from the split armor types, something that is integral to the core gameplay, everything else about this entire game is amazing and for those who purchase Switch games, this is truly a must own game. If you play strategy games in any form or RPGs in any form just buy it, don't give it a second thought.

So anyone hear about the situation that occurred with LRG a few weeks ago? The banning of a member called "Brivot"? I had front seats since he's in the FB group when everything blew up!

Personally, while the guy was being a bit of a dick, LRG really fucked up their PR and shows how shaddy they can be. Over a freaking meme (there was history prior to the incident, but this was thr issue that really caused shit to hit the fan).

Anyone hear about this?

I heard a little bit about it, but I honestly didn't care enough to look into it, haha. It's nothing new to me that the LRG guys take things too personally and overreact sometimes. I'm more concerned with how they handle their products and the process of selling them. I don't like this bait-and-switch they've been doing with some of their CEs, like for Celeste and Atari Flashback Classics, where they show and promise one thing and then change the design later, even when a lot of people are buying because of the design that was advertised (and LRG hasn't been saying anything about the designs being subject to change). And then there's the whole mess with Night Trap on Vita. It took over a year to get a patch to make the game beatable, and LRG still takes no ownership of the situation. Making a patch was out of their hands, but they should've tested the game to confirm it's actually beatable before selling it. And even if a patch exists, the version of the game "preserved" on the card will forever be broken.

There's also the stringing along of Vita fans by not selling both Rocketbirds games together, forcing Vita collectors to pay more in shipping and trying to manipulate them into buying other stuff just to get a "better value" on their orders. And the supposed "free" soundtrack the first Rocketbirds included, even though the game could've been priced at $25 and still be over $10 more than the digital price point. They included the soundtrack just to jack up the price another $5 and force people to pay that even if they don't want or care about the OST.

the game could've been priced at $25 and still be over $10 more than the digital price point.

The $10 extra of the digital price has been changed long ago. LRG has removed any word of it from any posts or tweets they've made, Dark Overlord got banned from the forum over a year ago for pointing it out. There's so many games that have came out since earlier this year that have been increased beyond $10 additional.

Bloodstained Curse of the Moon was $30 despite being $10 digital, that's a whole $20 increase. LRG did state that $25 would be their minimum, but also stated they'd never go more than $10 over the digital price, and many other games have hit $15 over or more. The latest Kemco RPGs for example, they were all $25 releases and all of them have been $30 releases since April. I think Kemco is garbage so I didn't purchase them, just know the costs. So while people can say Bloodstained Curse of the Moon is a big game, they can't say that of the Kemco games. Siralim 3 is the only recent game I can remember that the price wasn't jacked up and overpriced.

Aussie2B

They explained that the extra $5 on Kemco's games is because they cancelled a bunch of Vita releases due to the deadline for production and rationing of Vita cards leading up to that. It's a BS reason, but at least they gave a reason. I barely pay attention to what they're releasing for PS4 and Switch these days, but with Vita releases, they're still generally sticking to the $25 minimum or +$10. So that's what made Rocketbirds stick out.

Anybody know what's up with the LRG forum? It's been down for some time now, only showing an error. I'm just wondering if I should keep bothering to check in or if it's been confirmed anywhere that it's down for good, considering LRG already decided a while ago to turn it over to the fans and no longer regard it as an official board.
