There must be tons of games at that price that arent listed cause the list he had was HUGE. I may or may not go to the Mesa stores tomorrow, kinda exhausted from all the running today and it's a long drive....

So are the eBay prices for these games staying pretty consistent? Can most of these games be sold for more than 5 bucks on eBay? I'm really tight on money right now and the only US-version consoles of those that I have are GBA and GameCube, but if I can make my money back selling duplicate copies on eBay (or even make a profit), I'd be interested in picking up some PS2 RPGs and such for when I can finally play them.

And while I'm on the subject, which of these games go for the most on eBay? I want to know what to look out for.

Yeah you can make a profit off of them. Maybe not right now because everyone will be posting mulitable copies. Just wait and see what happiens.

I would try and find veiwtiful joe,rez,disgaea and dark cloud 2 to get the most out of it. Maybe MVC2 for any system as well.

Ebay is being FLOODED with these games right now and already the prices are falling through the floor.

I'd say by tomorrow night the average price of these games will be around $8-$10 on Ebay.

I've already seen a lot of these titles for $8.99 - $12.99

Stupid people. Oh look after Ebay and Pay-pal fees I made $2 a games and wasted hours of my time and ruined the market. x_x

Well, I hit 3 different stores today, and it seems like they all eventually caught on as the day went on. One employee that I told the deal about at the first CC I went to, when I revisited the store later in the day, said that a company wide email was sent out to pull all the games off the shelves since they're not really supposed to be on sale until the 10th or 11th. The strange thing is that more games kept getting added to the list and even CC didn't know about it - how can the company not know which games are going to be added to the list or not? Something weird is going on, the employee had no idea who was behind the creation of the list or why it kept mysteriously growing. I did give the guy the list so he could get some games, although management hid most away because of the email. He said he kept selling the 4.99 games that they didn't pull even though he wasn't supposed to because he didn't really care.

At one CC I went another "cheap gamer" also had a list and he was trying to hunt for games at the same time. Then while we were looking, an employee just started throwing all the 4.99 games into a bin so that no one else could buy them. The cashier said we came in the nick of time because they were currently pulling all the games and hiding them away. She accounted it to a mistake in the computer systems, which I've heard some others mention on here. Another CC already looked like they pulled everything because the shelves were barren. However, no matter what, we never ran into any problems actually buying the games. They honored the prices, but they learned from their mistakes because they started hiding the games away.

Any suggestions besides Gamerush? There are none in Pennsylvania as far as I know.

Just a quick primer on policies:

No more than 20 things can be put on a ticket without separating it into two tickets, so many people are probably having to do two separate transactions. This is how it is at my store, where we're still on the older computer program, so some stores may not have this limitation.

No one is supposed to be allowed to buy more than 3 of anything at a time, although it's more of a "watchful eye" policy than one where a red flag is brought up on the computer. Case in point: I got written up for selling the remainder of our Pokemon Colosseum games to a buddy a while back, apparently because I sold him more than a few at a time, "violating bulk sales procedures." Anyway, I work tomorrow and Tuesday, when we'll be getting the bulk of the shipments for the week in as far as games/movies/music are concerned, so I'll post if I see a significant restocking of some of these titles.

How did some of you get Disgaea and Rez, I paid $50 for Disgaea earlier, the seller actually made nothing, he paid the full $49.99 + tax and thought he'd make a killing. I'd only stock up the games to build the collection, not reselling, it's just not worth the effort.

Another thing to keep in mind, some stores have other $4.99 games outside the list at store managers' discretion, those are on the clearance bin, Rayman Arena was not in the list but I got this from Roseville store for $5, it pays to check out dif stores.

Oh yeah, forget about reselling on eBay, I'm actually going to check out how low I can get certain games.

since you work at cc have you heard about this email that says to hide all the $4.99 games untill the 11th or whenenver the sale is supposed to start? I can imagine CC is a little upset that people got in before it was supposed to start. I figure CC was thinking that with some ads they could get the regular consumers in their who would buy other stuff besides the games.

Or at least a thousand dollars worth of games for $185.00...left lots behind for those still searching, but I had to get an extra Disgaea and Shining Soul to trade (hoping to get a Front Mission 4 or Xbox Driver 3 for Disgaea, and a Secret Weapons over Normandy for SS)...the pair of Disney GBA titles are for my daughters.

This reminds me of running from Best Buy to Best Buy the day they priced all their Saturn titles for $10...only these are for thriving systems and cost half as much...how can they afford to do this? Crazy! @_@

Here's a little bit about what went down today......


I arrive shortly after 10:00am (around 10:02, to be precise - I was looking at my watch when I walked theough the Daly City CC's dorrs) and there were about 4 people walking around the games section with printed lists in their hands.

ALL of them were Asian (myself included) but 3 of the 4 were only carrying a couple of games in their hands.

The 4th guy though..... man..... He had 2 baskets full of games!

He kept sweeping up and down the PS2, XBox and GCN games while looking at his list. I'm sure he must have taken multiple copies of games because I found it veryy diffuclt to find a lot of the stuff I wanted.

I decided to go for a bit of small-talk between customers and I asked him "So what kind of deals on games did you score?" the guy then looked at me with a seemingly puzzled look and had the nerve to say "What deals? I'm just looking around.".

YEAH FUCKING RIGHT.

I mean, c'mon man! The secret IS out! That guy didn't need to try and insult my intelligence by acting stupid. I guess he was just a greedy bastard, because he seriously had 2 baskets of games (like anyone would pay FULL price for em', in one single transaction).

Anyway, I then noticed an employee searching the games with his own list and I chatted with him for a bit. He was honestly surprised because no one told him about about it. Apparently, the entire store didn't catch on until about 45 minutes later.

Wanting to 'spread the love', I told the employee about some of the games which were not on the list he had and he was quite appreciative. From that poiint on, I had that same employee scan games and price check them for me (I brought up nearly 60 different titles) and ended up buying the ones that were on sale. The entire time, I was polite, simply because it's only natural for a customer to be pleasant (In other words, "do unto others as you would have them do unto you").

When I was done browsing the games, I grew quite tired and paid for my items. Nearly $100 which IMHO, is well spent, because these games are all meant to expand my game collection. :D


I had no intentions of buying these and selling them for profit (unlike some of the vultures) simply because it just wouldn't seem right to do so.


All in all, I had a great haul today.



Now my qurstion is..... Anyone willing to part with an extra copy of Viewtiful Joe or RE: Dead Aim?

I'm willing to pay $10.00 for each game (c'mon now, play nice.) which is literally double what you paid for it at CC. $22.00 altogether for the games and Media Mail shipping.

well yesterday I was lucky enough to have one of those guys share their list because I had no idea what was going on. But after that guy left several CAG people came in pretending like nothing was going on.

People really get a little crazy with cheap games. The guy who shared his list with me also gave me a copy of Viewtful Joe since he had taken more than one. I was really happy because that was one of the games I was looking for. The guy left his list and the news had spread through the store to your average costumer and because of the nice gesture of the guy with the list I gave my Mario Party 4 to a mom with some kids who were looking for family games. I took 10 games which I thought was alot but looking at some peoples list maybe not. I left a lot behind but I thougt I had already taken too much. I'm going to go tomarrow and see what's left maybe I pick up some sports games ... I'm sure that's all that is left.

Don't even think about putting them on eBay, many $5 games are already flooded on eBay. I'm even thinking about scoring some with low bids.

I came home with 16 games, plus one at regular sticker price (Soul Calibur GC since it's the only place I could find regular version, not the PC version), and these games are the ones I was planning to get eventually and slowly at more normal price ranges, but when sales like this comes up, I simply can't pass up.

I'm still debating whether to go to MPLS/St. Paul again later this week (time/$15 gas money/hassle involved), there're about 8 more GC games I want there under this deal that seem rather illusive with next to 0% probability (Ikaruga, Beach Spikers, Bomberman Gen) plus I can get them easily from elsewhere for not much more (just look at how many Bomberman Gen and Megaman Network there're on half.com), I might as well take my time to get the rest later.

i also had sword of mana because it was on the list that the employee gave me, but it rang up at full price. it wasn't on the cag list so it must have been on their list by mistake. i passed on disney party for gba and gc because i just didn't want it, and fire pro wrestling for gba because i had seen it at other stores for $10 so i knew if i ever wanted it i could still get it for real cheap. the only other game from the list that they had was def jam vendetta for gc but i passed on it accidentally because when i looked at the list after seeing it on the shelf i saw "die hard vendetta" and thought i had just read the list wrong. i probably would have picked that one up otherwise. i didn't look through the ps2 or xbox games very hard, but i didn't find any games on the list.

Also got a Magic Carpet PS1 longbox in totally mint condition for $6.99 and *still* have credit left over. :P


...and it even gets better! The first Goodwill I hit after CC, I find a mint & complete Casio SK-1 keyboard which should cover my CC purchases after I sell it on Ebay!

Welp, I went out to my area Circuit City today, and what a bust that was.

I asked the guy workin in the video game section to point me in the direction of the $5 games. I was informed that they got a memo from the home office that the sale wasn't supposed to start until next week, and that they had pulled all the $5 games back to the stockroom.

Since TRU was near-by I visited them too. They're running a sale too, $8 PS2/XB/PSX games, nothing noteworth except Tekken Tag and Mad Maestro. They also had some games 2-for-1, but I didn't want to pay the price for the one to get the second free (still had some DC games, but I prefer paying under $5 for those. 8*) )

Then a quick trip to the near-by Best Buy also turned up nothing. They did have the Spider-Man DVD box set for $20 (the one with the Kevin Smith interviews Stan Lee bonus DVD) so I picked that up.

So the day wasn't a total bust, but I have to wait until next week to get me my cheapie Gamecube games.

Gamestop has coupons for an extra $3/game for up to 5 excluding sports and they also offer an extra 20% on their trade ins when you put the $ towards reserving/paying off GTA: SA, Madden 05, and Halo 2. Check any of the other stores, since I work at GS, I know those are going on for sure.

Another thing, the girl I talked to this morning said the sale will be in a circular, which means you may be able to take it to any store that price matches (Wal Mart, TRU, Target, Meijer, etc.) and get any games you're missing that you really wanted for $5 anyhow.

Another thing, the girl I talked to this morning said the sale will be in a circular, which means you may be able to take it to any store that price matches (Wal Mart, TRU, Target, Meijer, etc.) and get any games you're missing that you really wanted for $5 anyhow.

What kind of trade-in value does Gamestop give you? I hear it's pretty low compared to other stores (EG, Gamerush), but I never actually traded in anything there before so I don't know for sure. I really want to get the Pelican Light Rifle from GS, so if they give good credit for trade-in's, I might take a few of these CC games in there.

My guess is that you have to be fast...When I hit the first CC on Saturday evening there were only two guys maybe looking around for games on sale, on Sunday morning in the second CC there were prolly seven or eight guys, most of them with lists. I'd be surprised if restocking occurs since that would be contradictory of the purpose of this sale. RAMONE, if this happens, let us know, ok? Thanks again for this early heads-up!!!

I don't like it when people "compete" in such a situation or grab 5 of the same game; I'd never grab 5 Dark Cloud 2s to sell them on ebay, other collectors and game players should have the opportunity to get these games for this low price as well.

I like it when people help each other out. One guy with a list made me aware of a game who was not on the official list but was nevertheless $5, and I made him aware of some other games who were surprisingly only $5. I provided another nice fellow gamer with my list so he could look for the games.

I suspected that some games were for sale although they were not on my list. In these cases I let one of the empoyees scan them before I go to the register, just pointing out that I'm not sure about the price and I wanna make sure; I never had any probs with employees this way, on the contrary, they discovered the sale this way and were very thankful (since most of them are gamers too); and I point out at the cashier that if a game shows up for more than $5 he should point it out.

Sorry, but Disgaea and Shining Soul were the only ones I got doubles of...alll the rest are going right into the collection. I hit the Southridge and Brookfield CCs on Saturday night, and kind of lucked out at Northridge Sunday morning. The CC website lists them as opening at 11:00 am on Sunday. I gave myself 45 minutes to get there, and with no traffic on the 4th, got there at 10:45. Almost crapped myself when I saw on the door that they in fact open at 10 on Sundays! Ran right in and was amazed to find myself alone in the game section! I quickly went through the list (downloaded to my handheld, more stealthy than a big paper list!) and snagged the games I needed. Got the last Viewtiful Joe, but there were at least 3 more Dark Cloud 2s on the shelf when I got mine...didn't know they were so in demand, or I may have got an extra of that one too.....again, sorry.

The girl was stunned when all of the titles rang up at $4.99, and said she had never sold so many games at once before. I finished right around 11:00 and literally passed by 3 guys coming in carrying lists as I walked out. Pretty damn sweet holiday weekend in my book. :D

I would say the 11th. If they haven't pulled their stock yet then there is probably not much left.

Ebay already has enough of these games floating around. Plus I don't like it when people take more than one game. If you take more than one game you should trade it with another gamer IMO.

Well I drove 90 miles todayu to go to the closest Circuit City and they had pretty much been cleaned out, so a big FUCK YOU to the ebay whores. All I wanted was a few games to add to my collection and I heard stories from the employees about people buying buggy loads. The Internet and Ebay really has ruined alot of good things :( If any of you happened to pick up an extra Disgea, Bomberman Generation, or Wild Arms 3 and would like to help out a fellow gamer instead of ebaying please let me know. um well so I went to one near me.(i have about 7 in a hour radius to me).

First one on Sunday, i jut decided to look at this thread, because i was like, blah it can't be like that best buy one. damn.

So i get over the cc #1 and the employee hands me a printed CAG list that he is puling games out of. I started helping him. Then he says there are more in the front. So i start pulling multiple games like lufia, rez, vj, phantasy star and everything that looks rpg like or something good. The manager comes out and tells me to buy everything now cuz he bets everything will be gone in a few days.

Next day 2nd CC. There is a employee just watching games, and stuff. I didn't see a bin so i asked. "we don't do that stupid shit here" i said ok, so i started looking in the shelves. He kept over me starring as i pulled out morrowind and bloodrayne, dragons lair. he said yea someone already pulled all the games and bought them, i am wasting my time. bah. asshole.

3rd cc, bin is already out and being raided, all kinda games the other stores didn't have. and EVERY PS game they had that wasn't a GH title was in the bin. I pulled out tons more...3 people had lists. and others were back in the game section with lists rooting the shelves for missed titles.

All was very cool.

Check the CAG site, there are a bunch listed there. I don't know if I said this or not but my local CC sucks a big one. The others are not close enough to make the effort and I'm broke too boot!

Just check eBay it's super packed with some games. I guess let the people who don't know better pay big bucks for several games that can be had cheap (if you're lucky ;) ).
