I heard the Sailor Moon Saturn game was crap, but I'd get it too if it were cheap.
It's not that bad, just disappointing that the character sprites look like bad claymation - kinda like if you were to try to render detailed humans in Donkey Kong Country. It's pretty much the same as the Sailormoon fighting game for the PlayStation. (remember now, there were two PlayStation Sailormoon games - the other being an edutainment title)
Enjoy the game and think of us little people when you find extra Sailor Moon games.
Well then it's grail time, as in a personal grail has been obtained. I know many will laugh at me considering this a grail but it always has been to me - and a good price is part of the equation as well. For $36 (which seems to be the magic number right now) 3DO, Pretty Soldier Sailormoon S, complete...

There's a fold in the cover of the booklet but other than that it's very nice. You can tell someone got a lot of playtime out of it but it's still in great condition. :D
Hmmm... now I need to get myself a 3DO...

Magic Knight Rayearth is good stuff. I paid $25 for mine (bought a Sega collector's extra copy when he was having a "help me complete my DC collection!" sale - Hikaru disc art... though he meant to send me Umi... 's ok though) and I thought it was worth every penny.
Is the JP Magic Knight Rayearth actually worth money? I swear I got mine for 100 yen, complete and nice. I thought only the US version was valuable?

Not really, the JPN release seems pretty common and can usually be picked up stateside for about $10 complete. The USA version is worth some cash as it was the last US Saturn game to be released, and of course for being a Working Designs translation.
The big difference between the JPN and USA versions is that in the JPN release, pretty much EVERYONE talks with full audio. This was cut out of the USA version to speed gameplay along, having the voiceovers return only for key scenes. Yeah, it may sound like a bunch of BS, but it truly does get a little frustrating waiting for EVERYONE to speak in the JPN release.

Not gonna laugh at either of you... my personal holy grail is the game I enjoyed the most, not necessarily the rarest, as I don't believe I have any rare games. Sure, there's Panzer Dragoon Saga, which had a low print run... but several dozen of those "rare" copies are languishing on ebay because the sellers have their heads up their asses.
*cough* ANYWAY... my grails are Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Phantasy Star IV, and Phoenix Wright... among others. None were necessarily hard to obtain, but I enjoy them all very much.
Though it might be my Agetec Dreamcast arcade stick as well... it wasn't boxed, and it was a little bit dusty, but I managed to get one without paying for shipping. :-D
If you would like to suggest rarity, then I guess it would be my Saturn RPGs (Albert Odyssey, Magic Knight Rayearth, PDS). I have completed Rayearth and PDS and loved every minute of it... though I wish PDS was longer. At least I didn't pay ebay prices for it... :-D

Just picked up the following at Game Crazy:
Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance II (Xbox) = $15
Strider 2 (just the Strider 2 disc, no Strider 1 :( ) (PS1) + Italian Job (PS1) (disc only) + Mechwarrior 2 (PS1) (disc only) = $10
Normally I hate picking up loose copies of PS1 games and I know I paid a bit much for 'em, but I've been really wanting to play the PS1 Italian Job game again and I was kind of interested in just playing around with Mechwarrior 2 and Strider 2 via emulation. The Strider 2 disc's label was covered with one of those Hollywood Video labels, so I wasn't sure if it was the first or second disc. In all honesty, I was kind of hoping it was the first game because while the second game had some seriously slick graphics, I never did care for the actual gameplay of it. :( (I bought the Japanese one when it came out and wound up trading it back in a few months later along with Bushido Blade 2 and a couple of other disappointing games)

Nope, no copy protection either. I've heard that a few Japanese games won't run on non-native systems due to them requring a kanji font base. Nearly all Japanese games that used it had the required files on the disc, but the handful that didn't won't run on a non-Japanese console.

Pretty sure it was. Besides, you know, Street Fighter II is so kanji heavy and everything. LOL "At the request of the 3DO company, most third-party developers included this font directly on the game CDs so that they could be played on any 3DO console; however, a few did not, including Sword and Sorcery (which was released in English under the title Lucienne's Quest) and a demo version of Alone in the Dark." It's like one or two games that won't work.

Not many finds, mostly retail stuff:
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u160/Xexyz1337/IM000484.jpg
My wallet is hurting. I picked up Yggdra Union, Metal Slug Anthology, Shining Force Neo, and to my surprise, Skygunner, all new and sealed. Everything was $29.99 each except MSA which was $39.99. The Ninja for SMS is complete and was $4.
Also, I'm a little irritated, but have a story to share. I also picked up Soul Star, that kick ass rail shooter for the Sega CD at the same place I got The Ninja and Skygunner from. It was only $4, but unfortunately, things were not as they seemed. When I got home and took a closer look at it, I realized the instruction booklet insert was for Battlecorps, another Core published title... Okay, I don't know how I could have screwed that up, but it gets even better. The game CD, the very same one I examined for scratches myself at the store was also Battlecorps. I can't believe I didn't catch this...
Anyways, when I go to return it tommorrow, I'll check out that copy of Battlecorps they have on the Sega CD shelf. Maybe if I'm lucky, it will have a Soul Star instruction booklet insert and game CD in it.

Yeah, I know what you mean, especially when you read about some of the sick GW finds other users have. The GWs in my area SUCK, and they don't even take part in the shopgoodwill.com experience. I'm shocked when they get something as recent as a PSX or N64 game.
I've been going there off and on for over a decade, and I've only really gotten a few really good finds. Luckily, we still have several Salvies here, along with three very good local independant thrift chains. I just stop by the GWs when I'm passing by.

I know how you all feel, but there is hope I recently found MarineWars for the Atari 2600 at my local Goodwill. It is the record for rarity in the wild, and its only an R5, but I don't give up the dream of finding a copy of NBA 2ball or Jack Bros. I know I just have to keep looking. Oh well there went my two cents.

I just got back from an out-of-state trip to visit my sister. I hit a few thrifts along the way, but didn't find much of anything. Bought a Saturn Analog Pad for $5, a Famiclone game cartridge shaped like an N64 cart filled with educational titles for $1.99, Donkey Kong for the 2600 for 99¢, and a boxed copy of Pirates! for the NES for $4.99. Pretty disappointing finds. Most of the thrifts down there are open bizarre hours. One particular store is literally open 4 hours a month. Really.

Got these at EB tonight:
DS:
Need For Speed Carbon: Own The City (new) - $19.99
N64 Transfer Pak (loose) - 99 cents
Unfortunately, this EB shipped off all their PSX and N64 games to another store months ago, but for some odd reason, they had several N64 accessories left (mostly rumble paks and third party memory cards). This also replaces another transfer pak that somehow disappeared a year ago, and if I get the manual, I'll have a complete copy of Pokemon Stadium.

The copy of Battlecorps they had at the store contained the instruction manual insert and game CD for Soul Star. A quick swap, and I now have a complete Soul Star, yay!
On the way home, I picked up Capcom Classics Collection Mini Mix and Breath of Fire: The Sacred Stones new for $32 and change.

Yes, that's seven copies of Final Fantasy Tactics. I also got Frogger because I already had the art and manual for it. Radiant Silvergun, hey, it's Treasure. Skullmonkeys, too. I love Tekken II, and South Park was only to piss off the manager who was bragging he got the South Park game a bit ago. He missed the complete copy under his nose. :p

For the GB: have you tried putting in fresh batteries and adjusting the contrast?
For the Saturn: congrats!
The power cord is a generic one that is also used on the PS1 and PS2 large models, as well as many common set-top CD players. You may already have one. A set of AV cables can be had from ebay, estarland.com, or possibly another member of DP. Ask around!
Once you've got that baby running, find some more games and enjoy! The Saturn is a great classic console.

Wow, good call on the gameboy! It's been so long since I played an original one that I forgot to check the contrast! (heh, last time I had my hands on one was when I was a youngin, and that was the only Gameboy out there =P)
The volume was all the way down and the contrast was all the way up, so I thought it did not work. Amazing!
As for the Saturn, I have spare cables and a small stack of games that I need to play on the Saturn. Looks like I'm set. Thank you very much!

Not because there wasn't any great finds. But the guy selling the Genesis games kept grabbing the wrong items in the display case and not the games and when I tried to explain to him a HUNDRED times what I was pointing at he still kept grabbing the wrong items and got an attitude with me.
Then I saw another vendor with an original, complete GameBoy. I asked how much? And he said $20. I offered him $10 and he agreed. But when I was talking with him about the price some girl gave me a dirty look and made a rude comment.:rockets:
It's called a FLEA MARKET! Ever hear of HAGGELING? That's the point! DUH!X_x

2.Minty and Complete "Streets of Rage 2" for the Genesis-$8
3.Minty and Complete "Cyborg Justice" for the Genesis-$4
4.Complete and almost totally clean original GameBoy-$10

This lot of PS1 games came in the mail late last week. The discs are in fantastic condition. I've already started parting it out. I really just wanted the demo discs.

I found an auction for a Gold NES NWC 1990 cart starting at only $24, I didn't want anyone to find out so I could buy it cheap but unfortunately its ending soon and its over $7K now.

Out at the local flea market today, things started off really slow but didn't end too badly. Nothing super cheap, it was more of a "fair price" day but I'm not complaining.
Digging through some boxes of miscellaneous video game items uncovered the following for $10...
GB - AC Adapter / Battery Pack
PS2 - Emerald Green DualShock2 controller
NES - Booklets for Baseball Stars, Battletoads, George Forman's KO Boxing, Golf, and NES Play Action Football
After my purchase the seller asked my why I wasn't interested in the PSOne he had (I hadn't even seen it) and offered to sell it for $20. After a little back and forth in my head I picked it up. It's 100% complete and minty aside from a dent in the box - but given how these things used to arrive at retail chains it could have always been that way. I have a boxed PSOne LCD screen sitting around collecting dust so I'll get some use out of it. The GameBoy battery pack amazingly still holds a charge but the PS2 controller needs some work. I think the cord is simply bad, either way it's fine.

Box of VCS and 5200 stuff further down from another seller, including a beat to snot heavy-sixer - really not interested. Did grab a couple games from him though, both in excellent condition.
VCS - Porky's ($0.50)
VCS - Reactor ($0.50)

Not much else, found a mint Power Base Converter for $5, been looking for one for quite awhile. It's awaiting being modified to work with the JVC X'Eye, a modification I will be documenting. Also picked up an NES AC adapter for $1, needs to be tested still. On the way out I went through the big junk dealer's piles of wares and came across this for $1...

:D I know it's been reprented under a different title so it doesn't fetch what it once did, but I bought it to read it anyway. Still an awesome find and it's in great condition, a rarity for books at the flea market.

I found a Game Gear at Play'N'Trade for 9.99, but it was missing a battery cover so the dude gave me ten percent off. I love how they will cut deals with you since it is not owned by a corporation.

That looks way more space friendly than my current setup of genesis model 1+ Sega CD & 32x. I'll have to start looking for one, they look pretty cool. I'll bet they are expensive though.
I haven't bought much this month, I'm saving for a JP ps2, and i'm almost there.
I picked up for $5 each:
Magic Sword SNES
Knights of the Round SNES
Both are loose and in need of some cleaning.

That is very cool. Close to the ultimate Sega Gaming rig.
I lucked out on another Craigslist find... top-loader w/ 16 games, zapper, hookups, 2 dogbone controllers, and it all came in a cool crate ;). Originally listed for $50; someone offered him 80 but never followed through, so I matched that price. Too much??? I thought it was a good buy, given that several games were high on my want-list (though nothing all that special), and I've wanted a top-loader. The games are Chip'n'Dale, Castlevania 1-3, SMB/DH, SMB 2&3, Mario Bros., Bubble Bobble, Rampage, Donkey Kong Classics, Pipe Dreams, Zelda 1&2, Contra, and tetris. A few have manuals that are in great condition.
