I'll start off the new year with some finds. I won these on Yahoo Auctions in the past week, but just got home to see them today, so I'm calling them the first finds of the new year.

The Delsol pack I actually picked up before I went back to Texas for Christmas, but I never posted a picture. The others are 64DD Mario Artist Communication Kit and the NeoGeo Pocket Wireless adapter.

This is an 18 game lot also from Yahoo Auctions. I bought this just for Moon Remix RPG Adventure (not in rarity guide?), which normally goes for $40+ by itself. I got the entire lot for $35 shipped.

A few things this time from the past few days and last night. Some I bought myself, some given as gifts but all great stuff.

To start off, climbing through the risers at TRU yielded some good finds. Really makes me wonder who the hell was running their electronics end before I took over recently. Anyway, unadvertised sale + unmarked clearance + hidden merchandise = great deal.

PS2 - Guitar Hero Aerosmith bundle ($38.00)
PS2 - Guitar Hero III Legends of Rock bundle ($21.00)
Air Hogs Twin Thunder RC helicopter ($38.00)

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2008-12-22(01).jpg

All the Guitar Hero Aerosmith bundles went half off when I bought mine, namely to get the wireless guitar. They then went clearance even lower than that ($32.00 and some change if I remember right) once the unadvertised half off sale was over. Guitar Hero III went clearance at the top of the month and then had an unadvertised promotion on top of that, which brought it into the $20.00 range. I happened to find a stack of 15 pieces or so tucked away and forgotten about, so that day everyone bought one. Amazingly the games only are still $50.00 a pop. The heli finally dropped to half off the week before Christmas which meant I couldn't put off buying one any longer. As someone who loves two channel indoor heli's, this is the ultimate since it's a three channel indoor heli with a unique design. Challenging to fly but a total blast just the same.

PS2 - Pinball Hall of Fame The Gottlieb Collection
PS2 - Shepherd's Crossing
PS2 - SNK Arcade Classics Volume 1

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2008-12-31(01).jpg

Pinball Hall of Fame was from my parents, they like giving me some random game in my stocking every year (tradition). Anything is fine since we all know nothing will ever top the year it was Metal Gear Solid. Shepherd's Crossing and SNK Arcade Classics were $14.99 each but one was half off. Most $19.99 games dropped to $14.99 after the 27th and it's B1G1 $19.99 or less. I've been playing a lot of Baseball Stars 2. :) Shepherd's Crossing looked interesting to me awhile back and I think it's a game my girlfriend would enjoy as well. That is if she'd stop playing Chulip for awhile. LOL

And finally some Christmas gifts in the form of gaming books.

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2008-12-31(02).jpg

Flack's books Commodork and Invanding Spaces were from my girlfriend (InkedFrog on here, thanks for helping her out, Flack!). I haven't had time to read much but I did read a little on Christmas day and both are excellent. I Am 8-Bit was from my girlfriend's parents. It's a book of pop art inspired by classic video games.

But, but....it's not January yet. Make sure you play Touken Redsuden Smork. It's an excellent wrestling game and the second and third ones(also availble on the PS) are even better.

They must have went to the future then came back to the past to post the finds which havent even been found yet. They have the games but technically theyre still out there and if the two copies met? Confused yet?

So what you are saying is that: if we went and bought the copies that they will be buying in the future, we could cause a rip in the space time continuum. And maybe by doing so we could cause a rift that destoys all fanboys, forum trolls and ruthless governments. Nah, theres just no way to get rid of fanboys.

Exactly. Japan doesn't support the 360 so they don't matter. Ok, they matter....a little bit.

I'd still say that technically none of those items were found in January, especially since nothing is open on January 1st, jumping a gun a little eh fellas?

That said something I plan on doing tomorrow is checking out the used shops around here, my expectations are relatively low though.

Grrrr, Damn the image limit. Seems I can only get two images using Photobucket as within the URL and the IMG Tags, IMG appears four times! So enjoy lots of images crammed and compressed into one!

Just got round to photographing everything from the Xmas break and the last few days :)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v366/cauterize4/IMG_6443-Medium-1.jpg

The first few photos, the Twin Fami, FDS Disks and the PS3 Games were from my parents for Xmas!
Im finally able to play Bio Miracle now and its been worth the wait :) Doki Doki Panic is getting alot of play too!

The girlfriend spoilt me rotten too...
Shes been naughty making note of all the games I had mentioned this year that I was eyeing up. Shining Force III in particluar, bless her, she bought the wrong one at first as im sure you can see ;) Either way, Book 3 looks great in the collection and holds a good memory :)
She told her parents to get Chip & Dale 2 and Dracula-kun for me too :)

The Flashboy was my present to myself after getting an email from the pre-order list :) Along with the NES Games too :)

And then an unexpected visitor arrived today, one who should still be in Australia travelling, however got an early flight home to suprise everyone over the xmas break brought home some little treats for me :) A Auzzie Sonic Spinball for SMS, some Pepsi Bottle tops and a Mini Twin Fami to go with my new one!

Hope you guys all had a great xmas too and Happy New Year to you all! Im looking forward to seeing lots more Retro goodies posted in this thread over the year!

Well, I picked up my packages from my apartment's office at ~7pm on the 31st, didn't get them back to my apartment to open unti 1am-ish on the 1st, so it's the 1st.

Actually, I did get some games delivered today (a big PS1 and SFC lot, pics shortly), which surprised me to no end that Yamato delivered on a day when even the grocery stores are closed.

Best friend gave me my christmas gift today... said he had to "dig it up".

What he gave me was a small motherload.

http://www.enginevoodoo.com/images/collect/xmas1.jpg

Atari 7800 Prosystem and a pile of games. The ones not pictured are duplicates that I already owned. A good admin always has backups.

New titles are:

Shark Attack
Popeye
GI Joe
Amidar
Tutankham
Barnstorming
Alien
Joust
Stargate
Pac-Man
Haunted House
Dig-Dug (7800)
Centipede (7800)

Video Touch Pad controller

The other three 7800 titles I already owned in anticipation of eventually getting a 7800. Good idea, that.

Next :D

Though the label had been torn completely off, I bought it anyway to see what it is (You never know; it could have been a prototype or even Phantasy Star IV).

My first 2009 find is a nice one: NES Top Loader and accessories for $50 from ebay. I hit "buy it now" within 10 minutes of him listing it so my timing was great.

The nice thing is that this is from a local seller who I bought an XEGS and some Atari games a couple of months ago. Since he's local I didn't have to pay shipping.

I've been strictly an Atari collector until this point. Now I have a new system to start collecting for :D

King of Fighters was 75 cents, Mr. Do! was $2.50.

Something I noticed is that my Mr. Do! has the part number as DMG-M4-UKV, does this mean it's the European version?

Technically December & January finds but I'm just now getting around to posting pictures. Most games are from clearance at Walmart (anywhere from $5 to $15) except for Little Big Planet which was bought for full price (and is awesome). There's also a Spider-Man 3 for PS3 but I forgot to take a picture of it:

Flea Market:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/MISC%20PICTURES%202/MiniTireChangerpocketbike011.jpg

Cold, but not crazy cold...low turnout of vendors.

The first thing I ran into was an arguement between a frequent customer and a vendor,,That same old vendor who I've told off in the past..The customer was telling the vendor off about him selling him a bunch of non working junk and the vendor giving him a sob story.

Playstation ELEMENTAL GEARBOLT..complete,not scratched $2.00
This was stood up like a display on top of lines of boxed of CDs..I looked through all the boxes but only found one Madden game.
This game I have been looking for as I mentioned in the DP trade in topic..,I sold it once and kick myself for it..I have never seen this in the wild.

Namco Guncon 2 with that special wire $2.00
Dreamcast lightgun $2.00

Xbox 360 DOA 4,Outfit.PS2 007 ..$1.00 each..
Ok,these were in a pile of games...but no games in the cases,,,,demos were in the cases.
I grabbed the only two 360 game cases with demos in them and the PS2
The 007 I gave a loose disc for ..DOA 4 I have the Platinum edition of and I HATE the box art so I'm switching it.
Outfit I own but I'm using the case for a cracked cased game I have.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/MISC%20PICTURES%202/MiniTireChangerpocketbike016.jpg
$20.00(all the junk in the box)

Black Gamecube with GAMECUBE GAMEBOY PLAYER ,but no GAMEBOY PLAYER CD(I'll get one-Got one LMK..)
Three Controllers.
AC Plug
AV
RF with adapter
Gamecube memory card
PAPER MARIO GAME(no scratches
Super Mario Bros GBA game
Cablewire
Atari Flashback System
Weird Controller/Looks like a TV game, has a battery compartment on back but the yellow and red wire ends are headphone type?????
The vendor wanted $35.00 for just the GC,I just wanted the Gameboy player..I offered him $20.00 for the whole box and he said..OK>>

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/MISC%20PICTURES%202/MiniTireChangerpocketbike013.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/MISC%20PICTURES%202/MiniTireChangerpocketbike012.jpg

The box that this stuff was in had some invoices in it under the lower flaps from a recent XBOX 360 Bundle purchase from Costco, and Halo 3 game..
The box was the actual shipping box to the customer as it's address matches the paperwork..there's was a small xbox live paper inbetween the paperwork consisting of codes for three free live games..

Atari Flashback System.I actually have an empty box for in the closet...
Passed>
SNES(dirty) mini system with two controllers..$15.00,NO plug or AV...I watched as the vendor dug the controllers out of a big pile of wiring, waiting till he got the whole thing out hoping he found the whole thing...I asked him how much,$15.00..I asked where's the rest-the ac and av?...It's not in the pile of wiring.
He would not go any lower..I walked to the next vendor and found the GameCube deal..($for $20.00
Walked back over to give the SNES vendor another offer of $10.00 and he sold it within a minute..Someone must of been up my butt when I put it down..Nonetheless I didn't want to spend $15.00 on it like that I got a better deal next door..

Vendor and his Son...eating,they had a big pile of DVDs on the table with mixed in PS2 and PS games($5-10)..I looked through what I could as the wind just kept blowing them off the table..Loose DVDs,CDS and booklets were flying off the table like crazy and getting stepped on crashing to the ground..Within them were PS booklets for hard to get Games/FF7/Chrono etc.. but where were the games?
I started to try and pick up what I could to be helpful but the vendor and his Son could care less they just kept chewing down on their food..they paid no attention to what was going on..I looked through what I could and left..Thinking:this guy could ask ($5-10) for the items yet not care one bit how much gets destoyed.....

Finally took some pics of my other big lots. First is two lots of Super Famicom games -- 252 games combined, ~$65 shipped. Everybody was asleep at the bid button over the Christmas/New Years period on Yahoo Auctions, I think...

I'm still sorting the games, and there's tons of dups and generic sports titles, but still a fair amount of goodness in the lot. I'd guess around 170 unique games in total.

Note not everything's in that pic, obviously.

I also won a nice PS1 lot, ~$25 shipped for 34 games. Some pretty decent games, too -- about half are complete with obi, and all are in nice condition.

Thanks,I had a feeling it was something like that..I remember seeing something like it behind glass at Walmart

I tried to hook it up earlier to portable DVD players but mine done have the inpits, only the av outs..

I wonder if this actually has games on it(?) as I'd go buy an adapter to make the ends into RCA jacks..I put batteries in it and it and a red light comes on with a switch..

Crazily this thing has no name on it anywhere

Oh dear, I've hunted for a decent priced Pocky and Rocky CIB for ages. I picked this one p for 22 bucks in a badly labeled Ebay auction. Yay!

What's with those Super Famicom games that look like a Gameboy game goes into them?

Oh, and Super Famicom games look so much better than American ones, despite the lack of end labels.

Found these at a thrift I thought was tapped out. Yup, Namco Museum 5 for PSX. Disc in like-new shape, instructions missing the back cover, but no biggie there. Tucked in witht he Kenny G CDs. $2.00

And the mug is a mail-in promo for Nintendo Cereal. It has the brand logo and two lenticular images of Mario and Link (shown) in action. Very cool for my coffee. 35 cents.

Does anyone else have a Play N Trade in their area? I am discovering that this place simply rocks.

All used games are buy two, get one free. They have a constant influx of new stuff, which is rare for a used game store (at least in my area). Every time I go they have tons of new stuff to go through. Last month I got TMNT Hyperstone Heist complete for $2.99 and Tomba 2 PSX complete for about $20.

I got all the stuff above today for something like $50.00 total, individual prices noted below:

Goldeneye 007 strategy guide (this was $.99)
Wave Race 64 (N64, complete, $4.99)
Blast Corps (N64, complete, $4.99)
Super Turrican (SNES, complete $4.99)
Blackthorne (SNES, complete $4.99)
Gundam Side Story (Dreamcast, complete $9.99)
Decapattack (Gen, complete $4.99)
Comix Zone (Gen, complete $2.99)
Streets of Rage 2 (Gen, complete $2.99) yippee
Belle's Quest (Gen complete $2.99)
Xmen: Children of the Atom (Saturn, mint complete $19.99)

Got a couple things this afternoon:

-PS2 memory card (first party, black) - $3.99 at Goodwill

-Zelda "skull" 2XL t-shirt - $21 at Hot Topic. Here's what it looks like:

http://i41.tinypic.com/ri9cmo.jpg

I wanted to get the shirt below, despite the fact that the labels are a little off (why is Excitebike two words?) and the Zelda cart is yellow, but they didn't have it in 2XL.

Topic's been carrying gamer shirts. It's the "in" thing to be retro, don'tcha know?

I bought this shirt just because people look at me funny and tend to respect my personal space when I wear it ;)

I got that shirt for Christmas along with a Zelda shirt that says "Everything I learned from Zelda...collect all the coins you can." I don't remember there being any coins in Zelda. To make it better it has the Nintendo seal of quality. So wtf did they even read it or do they just license shit without caring about if it is accurate or not.

Then this is probably the first time in my 30 years of life that I've been "in". This ties right into a package that came for me today...

Here is my view as I type this.

Also, yesterday I picked up a black GB micro (also has pink faceplate) with THPS4, Midway's Greatest Arcade Hits, SW New Droid Army, and Fortress, all for $15 off CL. While I was on the phone with the woman, she got a call from someone else that offered her $30, but she kept the not-quite-finished deal with me! $15 was the asking price. That's happened a couple times to me, though I'm sure the opposite has happened a lot more times, it just is harder to know when that occurs. Now I just have to figure out how to switch the faceplates.

Lookie what I found at my local Salvation Army today. 30 Boxed GBA Shrek the Third for $2.99 each. (the rest are behind the Spiderman things on the bottom) LOL! I went home and checked the ebay prices, saw that they are getting $7.50 on up and promptly returned to buy them all. It's easy money! (as soon as the shipping boxes I ordered online arrives in that is). Of course it'll take all year listing 1 box a week, but I'm patient. LOL!

Thats what I had to do with my Sega Saturn PS2 controllers. I've sold about 15 of those over the last two years on ebay. I remember the first one going for $70 or some such rubbish. The last two went for $170 each. Of course, those are actually very rare but still kind of similar as far as selling multiple copies of the same item. I now have some demos I have to get rid of, but instead of selling them seperately(which would literally take forever) I'm just giving them away as free gifts when I sell other stuff.

Monday the 5th's finds:

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/2009-01-06-nesgames.jpg
A bunch of NES games... $10 for everything, except Bubble Bobble, that was $4. What's up with that Indiana Jones game? I'd never seen it before. Oh and get this, the guy who sold me Bubble Bobble wanted $15 for the game the first time I asked him two months ago. :p

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/2009-01-06-cds.jpg
$1 each. My god, is that Radiohead album that old already?

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/2009-01-06-dvds.jpg
Later, I went to Big Lots, looking for some cheap CDR media (they didn't have any) but I noticed a new shipment of DVDs came in, and I got these, as marked plus tax.

...

Look, I didn't want to buy that stupid Boogie game but it included a microphone, and I'd rather pay $10 for a microphone AND a game than the $25 that Gamestop wanted for a third party mic. American Idol Encore was 10 bucks, too. Now all I need is the original KR American Idol and my collection will be complete. Or something. :P

Not really a find, but I'm pretty happy with myself about this one, so I want to brag. Yesterday in addition to the shoes, my ordered DS bottom LCD screen came. I got a chance to put it in the DS I paid $40 for w/ a broken screen, and it works great! So for $54.85 (plus fun labor) I got a working DS lite, a spare touchscreen (ordered one just in case, but it was only the LCD that was damaged), and a triwing bit. Dealextreme.com is a pretty amazing site for cheap stuff. Oh, also included in that was a 4-pack of styluses.
