Hit the Flea early yesterday
The Flea Market had to be one of the biggest turnouts I've ever seen.
I wasn't in the hunt for games as much as I was in the hunt for stuff for the new apt.(we are moving).Such as a certain sized table for the slot machines.
The first thing I ran into was a SNES deck with hook ups for $7.00
Bought my Son a GBA Pokemon Game for $15.00(A game he wanted that I saw higher priced in store .
Nintendo Super Mario World Watch $1.00
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/MISC%20PICTURES%202/0d788734.jpg
2 Seven foot long Plug Strips,2 for $10.00(from 20.00
.........
Passed
Trashed SNES system .deck only $10.00..With trashed hook-ups $15.00 but they were so tangled that I left it.
Sega CD system in box(used) $50.00
No Door NES deck.$20.00
Plenty of games but SNES,XBOX,PS2 were $5.00 and up..

.
Instruction books for Conkers Bad Fur Day & Zelda Majora's Mask, $1 total.

I went to the flea market today, and as usual, ended up with more music than games. However, I spent a little bit more on games than music. Music is just dirt cheap...
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3558/3456444611_111260ef3b_b.jpg
Games:
SOS (SNES) - $13
-Includes box, plastic cart bag, inserts, but no manual. I really liked this one, and I've never seen it in the wild before.
Duck Tales (NES) - $10
-It's Duck Tales. I overpaid by a few bucks, but... it's Duck Tales!
Music:
Listed in the "Last CD... (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1544372&postcount=2564)" thread
Vinyl - 12@$0.50/each
Cassettes - 31 + Plastic Rack - $11 (the CD guy wanted to sell all his tapes; his CDs went up in price, but cassettes were $0.25/each, so I found a lot...)

I've found a few things this week which I will post, but these are today's finds. Went to a sci-fi/toy/comic convention to get a few autographs and browse for stuff. Unfortunately, no real gaming dealers were there so there were only two dealers with a few items. The first had a Empire Strikes Back and Jedi Arena carts for the 2600 and when I inquired about them they were $5 each, "since they are vintage collectibles." The second was a guy with about 10 NES games (none of any rarity or note) which he wanted $4 each for. Pass. But I did find these items:
http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/9477/img5104.jpg (http://img510.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img5104.jpg)
Vintage gaming related card wax packs. These were 6 packs for $5 except for Super Pac-Man which were $1.50 each.

http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/7398/img5106.jpg (http://img510.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img5106.jpg)
From the same dealer, a complete box of Donkey Kong cards. 36 packs of cards, games and 28 year old gum. I got this box along with the cards pictured above for a total of $20 from the dealer.

This is a set of 13 Transformers Beast Wars Video CD's from japan. They are all "Hi Fi Video CD 2.0 Version" discs that appear to be sealed. I'm not sure if I have anything to play them on, but I'm going to try. Apparently the dealer who bought them didn't have anything to play them on either, so she sold me the whole set of 13 discs for $1. I'll try to play them on my computer, DVD player, and probably my CD-i, 3DO and any other machine that I have and let you know.

-1 Atari 2600 Jr plus 10 or so controllers & 45 games (most with instructions)

I got a complete copy of Zillion SMS from the local flea for only $5.
Then I traded in a Devil May Cry 4 guide and Final Fantasy Tactics A2 guide for a loose MegaMan's Soccer cart at a local game shop.
Oddly enough, it wasn't in the extremely overpriced "rare case". There was a copy of Xenogears, but it was missing the manual and had a filthy disc one.
That was $50! @_@
If I had bought MM's Soccer instead of traded, it would have only been $8.

Here's what I got yesterday before work:
Game Gear:
Baku Baku (cart only, R5) - $2
NGPC:
Neo Turf Masters (cart only, US version) - $5
Sega Master System:
Altered Beast (complete) - $1
I don't collect SMS, so Altered Beast is going to a collector friend who's been looking for the SMS version. I passed up a copy of Baku Baku last year and after reading about it later on, I wished I had picked it up. Needless to say, I'm glad I have it now. In my experience with R5s, you could find another copy in the wild a month or two down the road, or you might not see one for several months - you never know.
Neo Turf Masters is the first NGPC game I've bought this year - coincidentally, I've been playing my NGPC quite a bit as of late.

I should have guessed that, as the quality of art and packaging is questionable at best. Also, I am trying to teach myself Japanese, but I'm only a few weeks into it so I know mostly colors and numbers.

I popped the open one (#2) in my computer DVD player and it works but it plays both the English and Chinese tracks at the same time, one in each speaker. I'm sure if I play them on a VCD player I'll get some nice subtitles. Looking forward to it, thanks!

Sorry, didn't mean to give the impression that they were a complete set, but more like the whole "Group" was only $1. Still, for an oldschool TF geek like me, they are something neat to add to the collection.

Alright, I got my Sega CD lot today. First, here's the seller's picture:
http://i.ebayimg.com/01/!BP3VYIwB2k~$(KGrHgoOKjYEjlLmS1ctBJ14nTreZg~~_1.JP G
The first thing I noticed was that the box had a big hole, with one of the Sega CD cases falling out of it.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3603/3460031436_e67539ed50.jpg?v=0
I got worried, since I specifically asked the seller to "please take care when packing the Sega CD games, as the cases tend to be more fragile than regular jewel cases." Apparently, this guy didn't care.
Here's a picture of the box after taking a few things out. See those sheets of newspaper under the mess of wires? That's the packing material. It's not even crumpled up to take up more space, he just stuck flat pieces of paper in there. There's a layer of bubble wrap on the bottom, but everything's just sitting in there rattling around. There were two bubble wrap "bags" in there, but they were just loose. He could have put the CD cases in those, and maybe he did, but there's no tape on them or anything. The ball of wires isn't very professional, either, but it's true to the seller's picture.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3551/3459218623_53e810523d_b.jpg
The CD cases are in poor condition. ONE still has both hinge tabs intact, and two of them had their hinges make their way to the bottom of the box, but I can glue them.
Everything arrived though, and it all seems to be in working order. Five out of seven Sega CD games are complete, with Jeopardy and Sewer shark in Eye of the Beholder's case and a paper sleeve respectively. The Sega CD let out a horrible cry when I first turned it on, but after taking it all apart and giving it a bath and dusting, it does it less. When it first turns on, the gears grind a bit, but it stops when the game starts. The games load quickly, and I'm overall happy with it.
Here's everything (except controllers, RF, and a power plug) on my desk. That's my Model 2 Genesis hooked up to it; all the shielding plates were screwed to the Model 1, so it's a more complete setup. Note the pile of CD case covers on the left. I'll probably go the DVD case route.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3548/3460570350_1284949773_b.jpg
Given that I paid $94 shipped, and it was an auction, I think I overpaid a bit. Still, I wanted a Sega CD, Sonic CD, Silpheed, and a Game Genie, and don't think I could have gotten all that for much less. He didn't say the condition of anything beyond "works good," so technically I can't complain. Still, is the paint splotch/scuff on the Model 1 Genesis in the seller's picture? I haven't given him feedback yet, but it's probably going to be neutral.

Yeah, I've noticed that sellers have lately been trying to really cut costs on packaging. I got a boxed Famiclone that was shipped in the system's box wrapped in brown paper. It came here in good shape, so I'm not complaining. At least they didn't put the shipping labels directly on the box.

Flea 1 -
Playstation Hyper Blaster (Konami Lightgun) - $4
NES Games - $5 each
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
Dungeon Magic
Swords and Serpents
Megaman 3
Megaman 5
Megaman 6
Athena
Solomon's Key
A little pricey, but Megaman 5 and 6 are tradebait. So it makes up for it.
Flea Market 2 -
Stack of PC Games and Dungeon & Dragons books - $19
Nothing really special, and the one game that looked really interesting didn't have the game in the box. Serves me right for not checking. Coolest part is that one game had a receipt from a game store I used to frequent. It was dated May 7th 1989 O.o
Gamestop -
Prinny - Can I really be the hero? - PSP
Little Red Riding Hood's Zombie BBQ - DS
Some late birthday gifts from the girlfriend :D

It's getting harder and harder to break even on shipping via ebay, nowadays, but there's no reason the seller couldn't have put extra time into crumpling the newspaper and putting a bit more tape on the box. :/

I had to go to the next town over to drop off a resume, so I stopped at a couple of shops on the way back.
I bought loose copies of both Shaman King: Master of Spirits (GBA) games for $6.99 each at the local game shop. After playing them for a bit, I noticed that the gameplay for them is similar to that of the Castlevania series. Considering that they're developed by Konami, it kind of make sense.
Anyway, next I checked out a pawn shop down the road. They had a copy of Pandemonium that interested me, but the disc was all scratched up, it was missing the manual, and cost $13. So I passed on it.

I don't want to sound like an old fart here, but can some of you guys tone down the pictures? It's kind of excessive when all of the pictures are like 1024 X 768 and you got five or six of them showing the same stuff over and over. Every time I check this thread to see new posts, I have to wait for all those pictures to load again before I can get to the bottom of the thread. I love seeing pictures of peoples' finds, but I just try to fit everything into one picture, myself.

Can't speak for everyone, but my pics came out WAAAAY too big, so I resized them and apologize. I usually put multiple pics to show detail or condition of items, as many times I'll see a post with 30 items in one pic and I can't really tell anything about any of them because they are too small. Now I'll always shrink mine to this size or smaller.

Yeah but then you click on the thumbnail which opens a new tab, and then if you want to see it fullsize you have to click on it again which opens another tab... kind of cumbersome if you ask me.

Everything except Kaboom worked without being cleaned. Kaboom has a rattle, I think one of the springs from the tabs is rattling around inside the cart and probably shorting it out. The select and reset switches are a little touchy but otherwise it's in nice shape. I probably overpaid a little, but my spider sense was tingling, so I walked into GW and there it was on the front counter waiting for me.

Complaining about pictures is sorta like complaining about signatures. If you don't like it, disable it in your options. That way there's a link in each post, and if it sounds like something you may want to view you can click the link to be taken to it.
It's under User Control Panel and then User Options. About midway down the page there's a box that you can uncheck to disable images. I used to have this box unchecked when I was on dial-up.
But I will agree that quoting multiple pictures is just plain annoying and idiotic. Quoting the text in someone's post is sufficient enough in 99% of all cases. YOU MAY AS WELL BE WRITING IN ALL CAPS.

What are those shelves actually for? I picked up a big audio cassette rack at the flea market the other day, and Genesis games fit perfectly, but I'd definitely like something like that for NES, SNES, N64, etc.

A good week I think. First the NWC Hat for $44, now 2 Sega Game Factory Carts...nice.
Paid $39 total for both; may have overpaid since the GREEN has a torn label; but I think they are exceedingly hard to come by (now to find the RED one).

Hit a Goodwill on a whim, today. They had a bunch of Dreamcast games for $5, but none of them were really standouts. I ended up with a mint copy of Soul Calibur that included the registration card, and a copy of Return to Castle Wolfenstein for PC that came with the front and rear jewel case inserts and the serial number sticker for $1.99. Great game.

My 'big huge' find for quite awhile:

A small handful of you will know what this is... the rest I'll do a quick explanation:
It's a Commodore C65/64DX keyboard. No computer, but hey for $20, I consider it a damn good find. Someone had it mislisted on Ebay.

I went into a local thrift store today. I go in every now and then, they rarely have anything good. Today was different. In the shelf I find this sucker next to the $8 Goldeneye:
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3/Porksta/DSC00519.jpg
The price was $10.50 plus tax. I first only saw the controller, but under closer inspection I saw the VMU. Then when I went to buy it I saw the second VMU, both in the controller. Now I just need the matching system.

On Sunday, I got a MadCatz Gamecube controller for 2 bucks. Not great but I have been looking for a somewhat decent GC controller in the past year that didn't cost a fortune.
Today a friend at school gave me Dragon Ball Z for free. She said that she never plays it anymore and that I could take it, and that she would bring another game tommorow.

I got this lot off of eBay for $29, including shipping. The picture is not too good and the item description did not say exactly what was in the lot. I saw the 2 copies of SMB/DH, the boxed Dragon Warrior, and the game on the top that I believe is Crystalis (?). I counted 31 NES games total and three are boxed.
The seller merely said "30+ games and some are new" I hope that he's not talking about the 2 PC games in the picture. Hopefully one or two of the boxed NES games are sealed. You never know.
I took a gamble and I'm crossing my fingers that there ends up being something neat with these games.
Also I hope that it isn't 29 copies of SMB/DH.
I'll post a summary of what these games are when they arrive. Opening the package will feel like playing the lottery :)

Went to a few garage sales today and got a few good deals.
First was a sale with a table stacked with mostly PC games. Was a real pain to look through them, and my first time through I only came out with 1 or 2 games. Then I saw the sign that said $0.50 each, and I grabbed a few more that I wouldn't have otherwise... plus the CDs (also .50). Paid $7 for all of these:
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/finds151.jpg
That Sheryl Crow CD is signed. I'll maybe check with a friend of mine whose family knows her, since I know he has a legit signed album. No reason to think it isn't, I guess, but it doesn't seem at all legible to me.
Stopped at a thrift and they had this SNES that said 'ask for cords' on the tag. I asked and they had them, though they had to set aside similar bags for N64, NES, Ps2, PS1, and Genesis. They used a Mario All-Stars cart to test it, and I tried to get them to sell it to me, but they wouldn't since that's the one they use to test. Why couldn't they settle on Madden? I'd love to go through their back room, because they had bin after bin of hookups. Legend of Dragoon was in a baggie with Tiger Woods for 80 cents, no sign of other discs :(. Anyone need just disc 1? $14.95 for the SNES.
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/finds151c.jpg
Another sale had this N64 (w/ hookups) and all the games for $20.
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/finds151b.jpg
Both of the garage sales had video games advertised in their CL ads, so I was surprised to still find stuff since I didn't get to them until more like 9.30 or 10, though I wonder if the first one had some real gems that were already taken.
Another thrift had Jaguar, Cliffhanger, and Terminator for Sega CD, $5 each that I passed on. Should have gotten Jaguar, but I know little about SCD. They also had a GOTY KOTOR in a big(ish) box that I wish I'd gotten just because it is such a good game and I stupidly sold my release-day copy way back. It was $10, though.

That's kind of exciting! I'd have bought at that price, unless the seller does a lot of other NES sales, in which case I'd be more suspicious.

I checked the seller's feedback before bidding and that was the only video game related thing they sold. The others things they had sold were bags of dirt that people can sift through for gold. O_O I didn't know that people could sell that kind of stuff on eBay. That's also why I'm a bit excited about this lot. The person selling it seemed to have no experience with video games.

Also, that IS Crystalis. It's one of those horrendous Amercanized covers, with the hero looking like Atreyu from Neverending Story.

Yeah, it could very well be a "bag of dirt" with 27 SMB+DH, but there could be one piece of gold that makes up for it.

Pictures should be required for this thread. That said, yes...the quoting of already-posted pictures does get ridiculous.
Well, with that said, I decided to put out the effort of taking a picture of my finds. It's not something I normally do. Mainly because I don't think I did too bad today. And I lowered the resolution to 800 by 600, big enough for clarity but not forcing anyone to scroll to see everything.
I picked up a Slik Stik and a Tac-2 joystick for the Atari 2600 for $2.92 each. I came across an electronic handheld still in the box, Diamond brand Bridge Computer. I don't know what time period it came out, but it had some pretty decent features. According to the instruction pamphlet, it'll run something like 50 hours on a 9 volt battery, and it has essentially an early version of a Comlynx cable and port so you can play against another person. It was $2.99.
Here's the good bit. I went to a thrift that I usually don't go to often... for some reason, they don't bother with games as much as they used to. But today, I saw some Sega 32X cartridges in the case, so I asked to look at them. I picked up Knuckles Chaotix for the 32X and Out Of This World for the Genesis. $2.92 each. Then behind the counter I saw a 32X box. Turns out it's not to be sold without the Genny console. The console is in a Blockbuster rental case, a Model 2 Genesis with the Sega CD Model 2 attached. I checked both boxes out and all the proper wires and stuff were there, and I've been wanting a working Sega CD (my Model 1 can't even open it's door) and as a bonus with a 32X on top, so I coughed up the money and bought it for $59.99. It had Sherlock Holmes volume II inside. I also bought a loose Wonder Dog for 99¢. $60 might be considered by some to be on the high side for such a set-up, but I just couldn't resist.
