Yeah, it could very well be a "bag of dirt" with 27 SMB+DH, but there could be one piece of gold that makes up for it.

Ummmm..... >_<
(Sorry for quoting that pic but I needed to for clarity's sake.)
You focused on the bags of dirt, but you failed to mention their other auction where they sold literally "Nothing". I'm surprised ebay let that slide, and that 2 people actually bid on it.

Yeah.... I saw that. What do you expect from someone named "hippie320"?
Hopefully some rare games.

X-Files the Game for PC (complete with all docs and discs) - $4.99
Sweet. I've heard this is different from the PS1 version. More scenes. I've yet to try out my copy, but plan to do so soon.
Bythe way, GameStop started a B2G1 sale at 7pm local time this evening. It's running til sunday night so everyone run out and take advantage.

The Famicom and GBA games were from a trade. Dark Cloud 2 (PS2) and the Disgaea 2 manga cost right at $20/shipped:

Wow, did we just slip back into 2001? I remember in the early days of eBay, when all sorts of people were doing crap like this. "Air Guitar - comes with free Air Amp!" and another one, "Make a poor Mexican smile". It's like panhandling through the internet.

Sweet. I've heard this is different from the PS1 version. More scenes.
I have it and it's in my semi-yearly adventure game replay list. I never saw the PSX version until recently, and the resolution is halved. Cool things from the PC version get cropped out on PSX. This is probably the ONLY game (or piece of media, for that matter) to feature the Apple Newton, an early PDA that apparently gets wireless email and GPS in 1996. On the PSX version, you can only see the screen of the PDA, so you'd never know what it was. Also, my box is in CRAP condition, so keep that one nice. Also, be sure to do the "giant" full install. It's only like, 3gb, and the game was from 97ish.
I keep forgetting to post it, but I found a loose Ecco the Dolphin (GEN) for $1.95, and the price is Sharpied onto the label >_<. I also picked up a killer audio rack for $15, which fits all my old consoles with my Samsung GX TV on top, I'll post a picture once my room is cleaner (had to turn my desk to fit it)...
And just now I finally caved in and bought an Atari 2600 Jr on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290312435133). $32 shipped, includes the hookups, and five games including ET. I've wanted a 2600 for friggin forever, and I'm not incredibly picky about which model. I'll get a woodgrain one someday, but this one fits my style more. Seller picture below.

I've actually been wanting to cut the cutscenes together into a full episode, since that's really what it is.
Poor agent Wilmore, I don't think he ever made another appearance in the series. It's a shame, they could have easily done a spin-off series with the whole Seattle FBI team from the game.

I'm surprised nobody's done that. I mean, there's one of The Last Express (done by the game's creator, I think?)...
Are the game files Quicktime movies?

God I love Garage Sale season... and being a stay at home dad so I can go to them.
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/finds152a.jpg
30 for the black one w/ MegaMan X3 and Final Fantasy V off CL last night.
20 for the pink w/ tetris worlds
2 for the LED game. It had corroded batteries in it, and I haven't cleaned it yet. Does have the battery cover, though. Couldn't talk the lady down to 1 buck, but she did try to make change as though it were 3 (out loud, so honest mistake I think).
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/finds152b.jpg
PC games were $5 each, I got Planescape for 3 since it didn't have the box :) (funny, but yeah, I'd rather have paid 5 and it have the box). Elite Forces is CIB (I think) w/ the pin still in plastic. Magic new/sealed.
GB games were $2 each, no haggle there (Pok Silver and FF Legend
PS1 games were $3 each and I paid $5 for both (no manuals :().
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/finds152c.jpg
$25 for all this. As marked it would have been $27. The bag of N64 stuff said 10 games, so either 2 got sold or it was a mistake. GC games are complete and mint.
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/finds152d.jpg
These I actually emailed about, since they had them listed on their CL ad. I only emailed because the ad went up yesterday afternoon, and it said they were open all day yesterday, so I wanted to check that they were still there. She said she'd hold them for me, but they were just out on the table when I got there. Oh well. $5 each, but I got Monster Land free since I would have left it otherwise. Hint books were $1 each. Unfortunately only King's Quest, Monster Land, and Lost Stars have manuals, though King's did have the bonus sheets in the pic below:
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/finds152e.jpg
I love these handwritten notes you sometimes find. I talked to this woman a bit when she asked if I was a gamer or just liked Sega stuff. I said I collect just about anything, and she sighed and said her husband is the same way. These were all duplicates from a big lot he'd found at a garage sale or something. She also mentioned something about there being so many games he said he'd never play, and all I could do was smile since my wife has this same complaint. What can I say other than collecting doesn't make sense (and I'd like to play them all, just will never have time).

I'm pretty sure a lot of these are actually ways for people to build up fake feedback. That one's pretty pricey, but many go for only a few dollars. They try to look like those "clever" nothing auctions, and the seller leaves feedback for the buyer worded as though the buyer was the seller - "A++++ GREAT SELLER WOULD BUY AGAIN" or what have you.

I haven't had much luck either with Garage Sales this season. It usually rains during the days I want to go, the people sell their games before I get there or they are asking too much. Most of the great sales happen on Thursday and Friday around here, and by Saturday, its usually cleaned out.

Went to one of my local thrifts and they are starting to catch on to the whole collectable thing. Here's what they had:
PS1 - no games, one controller and wired $24.99
N64 - black with two controllers, wires, and Mario Kart $29.99
I passed on these but did pick up:
Final Fantasy VIII - complete and in MINT shape - all 4 discs are great. $1.91

I didn't plan on doing any thrifting today, but I still ended up with finds!
From a couple Movie Trading Company stores I went to looking for a copy of Sonic CD but didn't find one, I bought:
Thunderstrike - Sega CD - $3.99. The store had three of them, but this was the only one with a case that had intact hinges.
Wolfchild - Sega CD - $3.99. I don't know what the deal with this one is, it's like someone didn't like the long boxes of Sega CD games so they cut a chunk of the instruction manual cover off and put it inside a regular jewel case with the disc.
Another location had reorganized their Atari games, and I found a bunch that I needed. $1.99 each and loose, of course.
Buck Rogers Planet of Zoom
Motocross Racer - single ended Xonox game
Star Wars Jedi Arena
Fire Fly
Name This Game
The Earth Dies Screaming
Spike's Peak/Ghost Manor - Xonox double-ender
Artillery Duel/Chuck Norris Superkicks - another Xonox double-ender!
I really, REALLY love the Movie Trading Company!

I wish I bought those RE controllers when there were a bunch at my local GS for 20.
If they were still there I would keep one for myself and make a decent profit on the rest. I never bought one because I figured they would just keep dropping in value, but the things are cool looking.

Some are mentioned in previous finds in this thread, some are not.
My game consoles.

My DS Lite with Acekard and EZ Flash IV. The pins were glued on with rubbery epoxy after the backs were removed and filed flat. They CAN be removed if I need to.

Boxed Sonic the Hedgehog games. SA2 Battle needs a new case. I should just order new Gamecube cases from Nintendo and replace everything, many are quite beat up. I also need to disable date stamp in the camera.
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj72/diosoth/sonicgames.jpg
Other games boxed. NiGHTS is missing the manual. I'm keeping the 2 SFC games, for now, despite both being JRPGs that I will never hope to play.

I got Planescape for 3 since it didn't have the box.
Very nice find. That's on my short list of PC games to buy. I found one at Goodwill two years ago but ended up passing on it for Pool of Radiance... ouch. I didn't know what either were worth and had always wanted to play PoR when I was a kid. My kid self screwed me!

Man I hope so. I used to sell on ebay weekly but haven't touched it for probably four or five months. Fixed shipping and high high fees on video games just seemed like too big of a "F$@! YOU!" to me, so I use craigslist now.

Quad Desert Fury and Fairy Oddparents GBA- $1.00 each

Stopped at a couple sales on the way to a b-day party, and then a Goodwill I've never been to before. Very nice GW w/ about 16 NES games and some SNES and N64 too. All of those are 4.99, though, which seems quite high when I'm in garage sale mode. Still Magician is an R5 that goes in the collection. Rocky Rodent I'd never heard of for some reason.
I'm only posting these finds because it was kind of neat to find the Leisure Suit Larry games in the wild. (50 cents each).

Your Goodwill uses price stickers? The one I know of in my area writes price son with marker. AND their prices are MUCH higher than that!
All the ones in this area use the same stickers. blue, yellow, green, and red for stuff they get from Target (and never gets discounted). Wow, if they price NES games more than $5 I'd think there'd be stacks of them just sitting around. I pass on the majority of NES games I see there.
I forgot to mention in my finds post today that I got an SNES deck only for free! Seems the guy had 2 of them with full hookups, etc. Somebody bought one and took everything before the seller realized it.

Combat
Cosmic Ark
Defender
Demons to Diamonds
E.T.
Fishing Derby
H.E.R.O.
Home Run
Night Driver (2x)
River Raid
Skiing
Soccer
Missile Command (2x; one with caps lettering, the other lowercase)
Space War
Spider Fighter
Star Raiders (with overlay)
Superman
Vanguard
Warlords
Yars' Revenge
-Others-
Cabbage Patch Kids Adventures in the Park - for "ColecoVision & Adam" (this one's marked $10 alone...)
Pole Position II - for Atari 7800
Cartridge case - holds 14, plus a slot in the middle (manuals?)
Sega CD:
Heimdall - Marked $10, complete, one broken cover tab
Sol-Feace - Marked $5, just the disc in the paper case
Batman Returns - Marked $3, disc only
PC:
Crusader: No Remorse
Heavy Gear
Earthsiege
He said 3 for $10
First, I picked up Sol-Feace and Batman, which would have been $8. Then, I ask if he still has any Atari stuff, and I go through the box. Since my 2600 shipped today, I wanted a variety of games to start with, so I asked if he'd cut me a deal on the box, and offered $10. He agreed for a moment, then tried to go for an even $20. I countered by asking about the PC game bin, and went $25. Finally, I give Heimdall another look, and walk out with everything for $30.
34 games for $30, comes out to $0.88/game.
Also, here's my console rack from the thrift the other day. I took the glass off so I could slide my desk chair in front of it and still be able to reach in to swap games. Controllers run around the back and over the side of the TV, and power cords are off to the right.

So my find today was very strange. I stopped at a guy that had a box of anime dvds. He asked if i liked anime he had some more in the back. So he goes back and brings out the box. Sitting on top of the box was Exodus Ultima 3 boxed. I opened it up it has the books and two maps but no CD. It has a 50 cent sticker on it. I ask him is that the price he says no. I really have no idea my self what it worth or even if anything is missing. He tells me he got it earlier today at a yard sale for that 50 cents, but he wants a dollar now. I glady except.
Its the IBM version but no discs. I dont know if i should just sell it as is or try to complete it. Any idea on rarity and value? Also does it normally come with 2 maps or is that an extra.

What's the 80s / early 90s Nordic Track video game thing worth? Seems to have some kind of racing game onscreen. Unfortunately, I didn't take the time to note the actual name of the thing.
@ AZ Legend:
I found the exact same thing at a local thrift, although I'm not 100% sure it was the IBM version (it should be though).
Is the map cloth? I forget, but I know something that comes with the pack is cloth.
I checked out the price of my own Exodus 3, it wasn't worth much.

-Persona 2 (Complete) $51.10 from eBay
-Toaster NES (loose) $5.00 from the flea.
I finally have a working NES! The guy who sold it to me is a collector too, but he didn't want to sell it to me really high since it was cordless/controllerless.
I'd say five bucks is a good deal. :)

Loose copy of Bomberman Hero N64 - $5

Tales of Legendia PS2 - (price sticker said $19.99) rang up at $8.99 [I had been looking for a copy for a long time since I own it, however I own a sealed copy that I found for $4.97 that I refused to open]

I hear ya. I'm seriously jonesing to go out to the flea market, but my job screwed up and shorted my paycheck this week. After paying my car payment and car insurance, I'm down to $10. :( I always feel like I'm going to miss something amazing on the one day I'm free to go out there but I'm broke. Someone else in the Dallas/Fort Worth area will chime in "Yeah, at Trader's Village I found an RDI Halcyon for $5, a Japanese Saturn with every overseas release for $12, a Turbo Express for 50¢, a Taito Wowow prototype console for $2, and one of those blonde sex robots from the movie Cherry 2000 for $8". My Besy Buy had no copies of Soul Calibur 4 for 360 and only one for PS3. Quantum of Solace was still ringing up at $29.99(and wasn't even with teh other games displayed) and Silent Hill was MIA too. But I did manage to get:
TNA Impact(only copy they had)
WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2008(only copy they had)
Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword
I'm seriously getting tired of Best Buy doing advertising for these types of sales(like they did with Ninja Gaiden 2 a few months back) and then not having jack shit when you get there. I was even there when the doors opened this morning with a crowd of other gamers and they still didn't have half the advertised stuff(both from their ad and the cag list). I did manage to get a few things but only because I was one of the first at the store.
