New as in sealed on the conkers?

Yes, new as in sealed. Although it is not really in mint shape.

Alright so i haven't bought any games in about 3 months because my wife is pregnant with twins...(very very excited about that)... we've been trying to save money. so anyway, i went by play n trade tonight because i was looking for an NES 2 redesign system and didn't find one but did manage to come away with a few other items:

sorry to double post, but the snes i found was in emaculant condition.. The entire system was in great shape and not yellowed at all.. that makes 4 snes systems. i went ahead and bought the cube cause it was only 29.99 complete and even thou my wii plays cube games, i really missed this little system.. Also p n trade was doing a buy one get 50% off deal and so i came out fairy inexpensive given the amount of crap i bought.. The sega cd games were fairly cheap and the 2 snes games were under $5.

also, the play n trade sells retro mags as well evidentally. I bought the nov and jan 2003 issues of EGM and the dec. 2002 issue of EGM. They also had a bunch of Gamefan mags that i stupidly passed up on. But all in all, a great night.

There was a city wide garage sale today. Unfortunately, I had only 2 hours of spare time to go to some sales. I didn't come back empty handed though.

The first sale I went to had a black DVD/CD media shelf for 5 bucks. I had been wanting one to display my game collection for a while now, but the only one I'd seen new was $70.00! So, I'm quite happy that I found this unit. It's pretty dusty, but once I give it a scrub, it should look good as new!

A couple of sales later, I found a N64 with Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire & Diddy Kong Racing. Since I already have the system, I asked the woman running the sale whether she would sell me the games separately. She said I can have both of them for $5.00. I thought about it for a minute, and decided to put the Star Wars game back, since I'm not really a shooter fan. Then I asked the woman how much she wanted for DKR. She said $2, and I gladly paid the asking price because the game is near mint and complete!

Saw a bunch of awesome stuff today, but could only get a few things... so I got some awesome ones. :)

(These were $4 each.)

NES
--
Ninja Gaiden
Ninja Gaiden II: Ancient Ship of Doom
The Guardian Legend
Arkista's Ring

They had some other good ones too, and I seriously considered also getting Cobra Triangle, but I didn't, for now at least. Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2 and Guardian Legend are great, great games, though... it's awesome that I found them. :)

So, I finally found The Guardian Legend... now all I need to find are Gradius and Life Force and I'll have my three most wanted NES shmups, finally... haven't seen a copy of either of them locally any of the times I've looked in the year plus a bit that I've owned the system, sadly. :(

Rummage sales were a washout this weekend, but I did have a few finds:

http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/8875/fb2l.jpg

Picked up an Atari Flashback 2 unit CIB for $6.99 at Goodwill - I'm really enjoying the version of Lunar Lander they included. And at another GW, found a Star Wars Widescreen DVD set for $9.99.

360 GTAIV Special Edition came in from Newegg.com....$40 shipped.

And I picked up the 360 Two Worlds Collectors Edition new/sealed for $5 from GameCrazy....as of Friday, the GC in Cudahy still had 3 more copies.

Picked up an assortment of things at Gamestop:

Xbox games -

Dead to Rights
Enclave
Tetris / Star Wars
Deus Ex
Morrowind

Xbox Memory Card
PS2 Network Adaptor

Forgot about the GOTY edition of Morrowind, so I picked up a sealed copy of that on eBay and returned the regular to Gamestop. I used the funds to pick up Izuna for the DS. Looking at the sticker, it didn't sit there long. It was turned in the day before I bought it.

I actually found two things I really wanted at the swap meet yesterday, which is a rarity these days. First I got NES Contra Force ($20 loose, not a steal but a decent price) and second I got the unusual 1985 label variation of Atari 2600 Galaxian, which I'd never actually seen before. It was only $1.

Front label looks pretty normal:

I didn't really find anything at garage sales last weekend (Only got to go to 2 because of time constrants that morning), but I did find a few things over at Gamestop.

- Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance (GBA. Loose in near mint condition): $15
- Pokemon Platinum (DS. Complete in near mint condition): $27 after discount
- Pokemon Platinum Official Strategy Guide (New): $16

That guide for Pokemon Platinum is huge; it's easily 4 times as thick as my guide for Pokemon Crystal.

I can't see why. The slim has one built in, so the only people who would need them would be people with an original. Even then, there's not that many PS2 games that have online, and several have had their servers shut down already. You need it for FFXI since the slim doesn't hold an HDD, but at this point, who's playing it on PS2?

The one awesome thrift store near my work must have a new old lady in charge of pricing. They had a stack of PS1 sports games for $6.98 each (?!?!?) and one long box Doom (R5) that I picked up for $.99. That makes sense.

Stopped at my local Goodwill on a whim tonight. They actually had a few Saturn games. All sports games, of course, but I grabbed Fifa 97 that I didn't have yet and I grabbed NHL 97 for the nice case. They were $1 each, complete. Of course the NHL 97 had Daytona USA instead of the NHL 97 disc, but since I already have both and was primarily getting it for the case, I don't care.

i have a feeling this is what most people who are buying them from me are doing with them. its like what happend with the one psp game gripshift, and phantasy star for the gamecube. two seemingly worthless games skyrocket in price when console hackers find a way to use them for playing homebrew/pirated games.

There's a guy I know from the US flea market I buy stuff at... he goes around buying these and then he sells the PS2s filled with games and stuff. I saw him in the weekly flea market that sets up about two blocks from my home a couple of weeks ago and he told me his scam. He makes a mint by selling those systems.

Today I picked up a baggie of Intellivision games that, amazingly, had two games in it I don't already have, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Popeye. The others were NBA Basketball, Mission X, Night Stalker, Armor Battle, AD&D Cloudy Mountain, and Major League Baseball. The bag was $4.99. That thrift still has a boxed TurboGrafx-16, with no cables and a broken controller connector, for $15.99. It looks a bit worse for wear, with all the other people opening it up and cramming everything back into the box without any regard whether it'll fit or if anything will get damaged.

At the next thrift I picked up Pen Pen Trilcelon for the Dreamcast for $2.92, and a baggie with two little LCD handhelds in it, Double Dragon II and Knight Rider. That was $3.93.

On the way home I stopped at a really slummy looking used game and movie store. I went there once before and they had a good amount of boxed NES games. Now they have more of them, along with a few Atari games, Genesis games, Sega CD, SNES, even one Virtual Boy game. Once I asked the guy behind the counter to let me look at the Sega CD games, I understood why they're building up so much but not selling them. Star Wars: Rebel Assault for the Sega CD for $15.99? I noticed they had priced their stuff well above even eBay levels. Sure, I'd love to pick up Shadow of the Beast II for the Sega CD, but I can't justify the prices they want for it, and that I'd have to give my credit card to these two guys behind the counter who look to be fairly shady. If I do go back, I'll make sure I bring cash at least.

I went by Value Village today and found a UK/European version of Sonic & Knuckles. It's complete, but the box is kind of squished, and I had to use a lot of tape to fix the inner cart tray. Now, the funny thing is, when I booted up the cart in my North American Genesis, it played just fine. I'm curious why it worked. I thought Europe & North America had different video formats.

I know, I really didn't want to sell it but I needed the cash more than I needed a dead, but beautiful console. I didn't try that, but most of the damage seemed to be where the video cable itself connects, the connector and around it was falling apart, and the cartridge connector itself was also loose. Poor thing had some serious abuse, so I hope whoever bought it gets it fixed up

Several Genesis games will work on PAL and NTSC machines without any problems at all. Many don't even have lockout codes, so they just use the same program (and even carts!) between regions. :)

Traded from namzep. Sonic 2 and the GBA game are factory sealed. Sonic PS3 is practically new. I don't own a PS3 but from what I hear of the game, I'm probably sparing myself the nightmare of playing it anyway.

I got this adaptor yesterday.

I needed it to be able to use this on my PC:

:D

As for today, well...

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2009-05-13-stuff1.jpg

Bubble Bobble was $4, the Saturn was $4 and that Dragon thing was also $4. I saw it and for some reason it set off my alarms, so I bought it... it turns out it's worth around $100 on eBay. It contains the first 250 issues of Dragon Magazine!

That X-Com collection is the second one I've stumbled upon in as many weeks (that was Monday's only find). I got Splatterhouse and Bonk's Revenge today, in great condition. Beyond the Beyond is complete and almost mint except for a pre-owned sticker in the manual ($49.95!), and The Scroll was $1.

That Dragon disc is way-cool Kitsune. I've noticed it available via torrent all over the place but never have seen an original.

Not a find, but I did pick up a copy of Devil Summoner 2 today at GS:

Odyssey 2 games, all complete $2 each from Goodwill, Patapon 2 $20 at Gamestop, Polar Ice vodka + Red Bull + wifey + no kids tonite...Priceless.

That Devil Summoner package is pretty cool! Is it a GS exclusive?

I don't think so. Seemed like it could be pre-ordered off Amazon. I ain't positive tho'.

It's a standard Limited Edition, you could buy it at Amazon too.

Yea, I have mine coming from Amazon.

I wonder how Gamestop is going to gut them. I could see the plush getting "lost" or the customer just getting the game.

I received a package from Atari Antics today...a birthday gift. I was expecting one game (and I thought it might be a used game at that) but he actually wound up sending me the following four games (consider ME surprised!) that were still sealed in plastic:

Def Jam Vendetta (GameCube)
NFL Street 2 (GameCube)
Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus (Xbox)
PK: Out of the Shadows

I can't remember the last time I got a video game for my birthday (unless I bought it myself), so thanks again to AA...very much. :-D

Went to Goodwill on my lunch break today. Found some decent stuff to be sure

Shadowrun - Genesis (loose) - $3
Radiata Stories (complete) - $4
Sly 2 (complete) - $4

Value Village
You Don't Know Jack Mach 2 (complete) - $3
GTA Directors Cut (complete) - $3

Also, I picked up an "Advanced Readers Edition" of Christopher Moore's The Stupidest Angel for $1. Took a closer look at it later and realized it was signed. That's the second signed item I've found in a thrift store/pawn shop (about 6 months ago I ran across an "Into the Wild" soundtrack signed by Eddie Vedder for $2)

Hey, if it doesn't work, you can strap it on your back, forget to shave for a few days, and pretend that you're Segata Sanshiro. That's gotta be worth $4.

Yeah, but you have to live with the thought that you'll die in a spectacular explosion caused by you directing a missile away from a building and into space.

I gotta get that Segata Sanshiro game, the Saturn I got was modded. :D

I even have the hair for it, and a karate gi somewhere!

But I'm not manly enough. :(

They shouldn't have to gut them at all. At my local GS, the game was still sealed and behind the counter on display next to the over sized boxes of Excite Bots and Mario Kart (the steering wheel pack-in versions). The surplus copies were kept in the back.

I picked one up as did both of my cousins. It's unfortunate that there wasn't a strategy guide available for the game.

I also found a CIB Super Smash Bros. for N64 for $25. I tried peeling the price sticker off the cardboard but ended up ripping the box a little.

Personally I prefer to think of myself as Temjin when I have a Saturn on my back, but to each his own.

Not much today, just this...

Picked up a loose copy of Perfect Dark for N64 for $3, and a brand new Ipod Generation 4 sport armband case, both from the Goodwill. My nike branded one barely fits around my upper arm, but this one has a considerably longer strap. Woot. And it was 99 cents, rather than freakin' $30.

Picked up a 1000 series psp with a messed up joystick and no charger for 25 plus about 14 gas money. Next up I'm ordering the joystick and a psp lite umd drive from dealextreme to fix the one I got yesterday and the star wars psp I got around the beginning of the year for 20.

Not anything super exciting:

from Visc (DP member):
SimCity Societies guide
Super Mario Galaxy guide

from otoko (another DPer):
untested Ti-99/4a

and, I was out and about and remembered that Oklahoma has a Pac-Man scratch off card so I picked up one (and a pamphlet that explains the prizes) from a gas station.

In case anyone cares, the Saturn worked perfectly. I spent an hour last night playing Fighting Vipers and... um... Blazing Dragons.
