Bookman's selling something for under a dollar!? I've never seen that happen before.
My finds today:
EZ Pawn:
Boom Blox Bash Party - $10
NCAA All Play 09 Wii - $10
Grandia III - $6
Rogue Galaxy - $6
House of the Dead III - $6
Morrowind GOTY - $5
KOTOR II disc only - $5
They have a little library cart with some cheap ass (but shitty) games for a dollar or less. Bulls vs. Blazers shouldn't be more than 25 cents lol. I got the box and manual so it works even better for me. I'd stay the hell away from Mesa Bookman's, unless you like paying up the ass for stuff.

That's cool. It would probably be $3 at Tucson Bookman's.

I'd be interested in a jewel case copy as well, pseudonym. Are you mainly looking for the PS1 wants on your list, or would you deal with something else?
Sure. Give me a few days, I have to get it out of storage.
I'm looking for PS1 stuff lately, I'd love some NES, SNES stuff too.

You might not have ever ended up in this shop, it's a little hell hole in the middle of a crumbling strip mall. I pass by it all the time but it never occurred to me to stop in the place until the middle of last year. Stopped by a few months later to pick up Shadow of the Beast II for the Sega CD only to see that they'd marked it up from $9.99 to $18.99. That's why I was so shocked to see the prices of those import Dreamcast games.
Yea, it's a pretty bad place and even knowing where it is, I've only been there twice. Their selection is not that great, but apparently they will deal on prices a fair amount.

Heh, that's so funny because that site used to be epic for me when I drove down there years ago. Their genesis collection used to be absolutely amazing. I got so many good games there. I remember when they had tons of great CIB NES games for fair prices and a bunch of rare saturn games at equally fair prices....hell I even got a Swordquest Waterworld with the manual, 3 comics and rules sheet for 2 bucks, ;D.
Went there like a year ago...sucks ass.

Interesting finds at the dock sale today.
They had at least 120+ CDs this time. All of it was interesting stuff, too. Indie, emo, punk, alt, techno, all sorts of odd genres and bands. I myself got 40 CDs of bands like remy zero, Billy Talent, Year of the Rabbit, Firewater, David Baerwald, Treble Charger, Radford, Interpol, The Revolution Smile, Drive-by Truckers, Thursday, The Levellers, Ima Robot, Freedom Fighters, Humble Gods, Marc Copley and many, many others. I just tried to get bands with interesting cover art that I had never heard of. I've only looked up 1/4 of the CDs and I've already found 1 that's worth like $25-30. It'll be fun going through all this, so many bands I've never heard of. It's a great opportunity to get into some new stuff. The interesting thing about these CDs are that most of them are Radio/promo/single versions. The CDs were $0.50 a piece, btw.
I noticed several of the radio CDs have warnings about not being able to rip music off of them (and not only that it's illegal, the CDs themselve won't even play in a computer). Well, hope I don't like the bands that have uprip-able CDs. LOL
Neatest CDs in the lot: Trans-Siberian Orchestra Promo disc, The Killers Mr. Brightside promo, and "Man on the Burning Tightrope" by Firewater.
Might as well add, I got 2 non-music CDs, Age of Empires: Rise of Rome expansion for myself and a sealed Recovery/Microsoft Office Onenote 2003 disc set for a Toshiba Satellite A100 series laptop. Also got 2 empty PS1 dual-jewelcase CD cases from racing games and an empty DS case for some Pokemon game (has the manual and everything, though). The Pokemon game isn't Dash, Trozei, or any of the ranger games. I'll have to remember which one it is. (EDIT: Just looked and the case and everything is for Pokemon Platinum. and WTF it's a relatively new game O_o)
Got a Hasbro controller with a USB attachment. There's a little cartridge in it that says "Bubble Bonanza!". That seems to be familiar. I can't remember what it's called but I think we've discussed it on here before. (EDIT: It's a "Net Jet".)
Also found a Game Gear ($3) , and oddly enough across the room (with the CDs) was a copy of CJ Elephant: Fugitive for Game Gear. Dunno the rariety on this one, as it's an R0 in the DP guide.
And finally some sort of memory card that says "Gamedia 24 mega". Guess it's a 24mb... PS2 card?

How in the hell does this guy stay in business? Id seriously like to know...
I've also wondered and can only assume he does alright with last gen stuff (mostly PS2 surely) and might not be doing too bad with current gen. First time I was in I asked and found out that he will only give me .25 for any NES games as long as he doesn't have it already so if that is all he is giving for anything older then he only spent about 100 total on all of the older games he has and not too much more if he only goes up to .50 or a buck for 16 32 bit stuff then he still hasen't spent too much for all of his stock that is older then last gen.
This guy also had a clothing store before that closed down recently, he actually moved into a much bigger location just around the corner recently but I don't think things are booming that much it's probably just a case of him pouring all of his money into the store.
When I was last in I didn't notice Earthbound or the 2600 bundle but I doubt he sold them (especially around my area) for the asking prices I quoted especially with the 2600.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2010-02-04.jpg
Star Control 1+2 CD = $1
Windows 2000 Professional CIB - $5
Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, Resident Evil 2, Fighters Megamix were $5 each. :D
The PS1 games were all in a pile of random PS1 sports games. I got a bargain because the guy who was there likes me because I bought a Lynyrd Skynyrd CD a while back. RE2 includes some sort of Funcoland phone card. That was weird.
Fighters Megamix is damn minty fresh, other than your standard Saturn manual storage warping. They had several sports games, Robotica, that crap Criticom game, Bust-A-Move 2, and I forget what else for $5 each. So I bought the only game I wanted. The same booth also had... a SNES with a Game Doctor II for $40. The GDII seemed beat up, but it was complete (the cart slot was taped over for some reason, wtf). The guy also had eight random Super Famicom games: Dragon Ball Z Shin Butouden 3, Street Fighter II, Super Double Dragon, a Goemon game, a Turtles game (probably TMNT IV), a bootleg cart, and I forget what else. I'm considering buying the GDII, but... eh. :p
Anyone interested in it?

Good find with awesome prices there Geddon, especially with Little Samson.
I'll take a stab at this - are these from FL? I see FL on the price tag, and was wondering if that was a state deal or just something they print out.

Heh, thanks. Nah, this was right here in the Tampa bay area. The next best score I had from this store was a CIB Genesis Moonwalker cart, about 2 weeks before MJ died, for $5.
The funny thing about this is, I scoured the NES rack twice and found the Power Blade 2. I went to pay and the owner was on the phone and asked me to wait a minute. I was a little pissed off, and went back to the NES rack to kill time while he chatted with whoever. That's when I saw the Little Samson, and I was pissed at myself for not noticing it earlier! If that guy wasn't on the phone, it would still be in the store right now! ;)

Big day today at Play N Trade!
Total after tax? $14.94.
Nice little grab there. The Play N Trade up the road from me closed up a few months ago, but they had idiotic prices on loose CDs, like one disc copy of Lunar for the Sega-CD was $65. Went out of my way a few years ago to their Outerbanks, NC store in Nags Head (50 miles away) and that was a complete bust. All the ones around here within 20 miles aren't any good either. I've had best luck with their store in Richmond, VA that's nearly 200 miles away, bought a dozen items from there in the past. They had a Neo-Geo AES come in but they hadn't priced it because they were waiting on the seller to bring in the games. That one gets some good movement due to being in the capital and around a large college.

Found a decent selection of PSP games today:
Mana Khemia: Student Alliance for $19.99 (New) - It was the display copy at HMV, so it was gutted. Because of this, there is a hole and a couple of cracks in one corner of the case, which I didn't notice until I got home. However, the disk & manual still look like new, so it's not such a big deal to me.
Hammerin' Hero for $39.99 (New) - I've been looking for something other than RPG's for my PSP, and this looked like it could be fun.
Me & My Katamari for $15.96 (Used) - It looks like going to have to return this one. When I took the UMD out of the case, I noticed that the top of the UMD's plastic covering had split open, and it won't snap back together again. Does anybody know of a way to repair it? I really want to try this game, but I'm worried that it might damage my PSP.
Lexar 8 GB Memory Stick Pro Duo for $39.99 (New) - I bought this so I could transfer movies onto my PSP. But for some reason, only some of my MP4 movies work on it. Is there a particular MP4 format that the files need to be in?

I've seen "refurbished" PSP games at GS that had a clear casing around the disc part instead of the standard Sony white case. I'm sure there's a site out there that sells replacement UMD shells.
As for Hammerin Hero...ouch, you might want to take that back. All of the GS around here have it for $15-20. I think it was set to $15 at one point and GS raised it back up to $20. Still, that's a pretty steep price on that. Of course if you find it at GS, you'll probably have to settle for their version of "new" but that's worth saving $20 IMO.
Speaking of PSP and GS, I snapped up Every Extend Extra for $5. I almost picked up Folklore on PS3 at Wal-Mart for $20 but decided against it as I have a few other things I need to pay for first. They had 5 or 6 copies that I saw so I should be okay for a week or so hopefully.

cyber, which P N T closed in Hampton Roads? Was it the one in Greenbrier? I haven't lived down there for over 2 years now. Also, I know the P N T in Richmond that you're talking about. I bought my Turbo-Grafx 16 there, but I haven't bought anything else there since I noticed that the copy of R-Type Delta I bought there a year ago had been heavily resurfaced. :(

I actually bought Hammerin' Hero at an EB Games location here in Canada. I've noticed that any price drops that happen at the US EB or GS stores don't seem to be reflected at the stores on my side of border (or on gamestop.ca for that matter). It's too late to return the game anyway because I've already opened and played it. Well, on the bright side, at least I managed to get a factory sealed copy.
Also, I'll keep your suggestion regarding replacement UMD shells in mind. But first I'm going to try and return it the Best Buy that I got it from.

Big day today at Play N Trade!
That makes me miss a local Play N Trade that closed up recently (along with every other PNT in the Portland area, unfortunately). It was a pretty good place to find uncommon NES games - nothing as rare as Little Samson, but I scored a few titles that I hadn't seen in the wild in quite some time, including Kiwi Kraze, Bucky O' Hare, Krazy Kreatures, G.I. Joe: The Atlantis Factor, and Bartman meets Radioactive Man. Most of their NES games were $2.99 each.

Picked up a couple gaming type things today at a book sale. I got the Prima Official Game Guide for The Lord of the Rings Online - Shadows of Angmar, volumes 1 & 2. They were $1 each and are both sealed in plastic. I also picked up 3 Magic Knight Rayearth VHS tapes for $1 each. The first is opened, but the other 2 are sealed. And, of course, as my luck would have it, the tapes are #s 1, 3, and 5 of the series. I made sure to see if there were any others, but these were all I saw. Maybe that is why the last 2 weren't opened.
Anybody interested in the strategy guides, give me a yell.

Someone tipped me off about a game clearance sale that is happing at my town's local liquidation store. So I went down this afternoon, and found they were selling last generation's games (GBA, GC, Xbox, etc.) at the sale price of 2 for $15.
A lot of it was crap, but there were some gems to had. Here's what I picked up:
GameCube:
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Mario Power Tennis
Mario Superstar Baseball
Super Mario Strikers
GBA:
The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night
Naruto Ninja Council 2
I also took a browse around the rest of the store, and found a cool Sonic Rush Adventure wallscroll for $4.

The mini SNES was $6.95 (no controllers), the Tandy Football was $1.99, and everything else has price tags on them. This is my first SNES. I've never bothered getting one in the past, because I think Nintendo sucks and never liked their business tactics in the '80s. Picked up T-Mek for the 32X for $2.99, just because it's hard to find and I loved the arcade game. The Atari game, Star Ship, I picked up because I've never seen that label before. I thought Atari had discontinued Star Ship before they started calling the console the "Atari 2600". Mega Man X was $2.95, just so I'd have a game for the SNES to try it out. The Dreamcast Bleem! is for Metal Gear Solid, and it's got MGS disc 2 inside the case.

Something I couldn't pass up, a game by Lakeside called Can It!, made in 1974. It's a kid's game where you have to use little plastic catapults to fling garbage into the can (fish skeletons, old bones, broken plates, and busted pots and pans). Made in the USA, and sturdy as hell. It looks like it was just manufactured, like it rolled off the assembly line yesterday. They don't make 'em like they used to.

To the best of my knowledge, the PSP version was not packaged in the same manner as its PS2 counterparts. The only PSP games I'm aware of that had the over sized cardboard packaging were Persona and Prinny: CIRBTH?
Just to be sure, I double checked NIS' website and couldn't find anything on a cardboard boxed release of the PSP version. If there was one, the NIS store site makes no mention of it that I could find. I also checked Amazon, nothing there either.
I really don't think you missed out on anything with the PSP release SQ, when I bought my copy it had nothing with it and I got it brand new in the shrinkwrap.

The Atari game, Star Ship, I picked up because I've never seen that label before. I thought Atari had discontinued Star Ship before they started calling the console the "Atari 2600".
That is a very odd-looking Atari label... I have never seen anything like that. It's a text label, yet it says "Atari 2600" on it. Very strange. Could it be a reproduction?

Haha... yep :)
Ah, Athletic World, the one NES game that can almost give you a heart attack just by looking at it!
Everyone has made that mistake I'm sure. At least I hope so, or else I feel really dumb >_>

Edit: Hey, Xexyz, are you sure you're not thinking of the PS2 version? (FYI: Mana Khemia PSP is a port of the 1st PS2 MK game.) Because I just did some research online, and I can't find any proof that Mana Khemia: SA came with any kind of extras.
Yeah I goofed. I can never remember the subtitles for these Gust RPG's so I was thinking you picked up the PS2 release.

After going to my brother's house to pick up $50 that he owed me, I decided to hit a few thrifts and a Movie Trading Company on the way home.
http://i414.photobucket.com/albums/pp222/StevePW/snesandstuff.jpg
The Dreamcast Bleem! is for Metal Gear Solid, and it's got MGS disc 2 inside the case.
http://i414.photobucket.com/albums/pp222/StevePW/CanIt.jpg
Something I couldn't pass up, a game by Lakeside called Can It!, made in 1974. It's a kid's game where you have to use little plastic catapults to fling garbage into the can (fish skeletons, old bones, broken plates, and busted pots and pans). Made in the USA, and sturdy as hell. It looks like it was just manufactured, like it rolled off the assembly line yesterday. They don't make 'em like they used to.
that would be the second time i've seen that label varient, (i Picked one up years ago) i'm wondering if it was a foreign release maybe?

Meh, no game stuff today or yesterday. Rightly so because there was only like 10 garage sales on both days combined.
Only worth-mentioning thing I bought was a Soundblaster 16 ISA card for $1, perfect for someone making a DOS gaming setup.
One an unrelated note, has anybody been seeing Roombas at garage sales? It's strange, all of a sudden I'm seeing them everywhere. Got a fairly new one for $10 yesterday, and before that I've probably gotten 3 or 4 others for parts/repair at the dock sale. The odd thing is I really haven't seen them at garage sales before, and now a bunch are showing up. Strange.

cyber, which P N T closed in Hampton Roads? Was it the one in Greenbrier? I haven't lived down there for over 2 years now. Also, I know the P N T in Richmond that you're talking about. I bought my Turbo-Grafx 16 there, but I haven't bought anything else there since I noticed that the copy of R-Type Delta I bought there a year ago had been heavily resurfaced. :(
It's a Play & Trade that opened last year or two in southern Chesapeake towards the NC border. It wasn't anything special and there are a lot more around here, the next closest to me being off Cedar Road. There are 5 Game Stops in Greenbrier, didn't know there was PnT...

Honestly, I don't know whether there is a PNT store in Greenbrier or not. I haven't lived down there in 2 years like I said, but I remember there used to be a store out there near the hospital that sold retro games. Maybe it wasn't Play & Trade. I know there was a really crappy Cash Converters store out there back then.

My cousin was finally ready to pick up a PS3 system and we spent most of Wed. evening driving around town looking for one. We tried every Gamestop on our side of town, Wal-Mart, Target, Meijer, and Best Buy but everyone was sold out.
We managed to find one today, at a Best Buy WAY out of the way. Luckily I knew where it was and we were able to get there before they closed. When I called them, they said they had 10-12 in stock. When we showed up, there was 3 left and they only had the 250G units. My cousin had wanted the 120G unit but I told him the 250G was a better deal for only $50 more.
There was a bookstore in the same shopping complex and I happened upon this book...

Retro Game Challenge $9.99

it was Alex's $325 was the price. I thought that was fair, I figured about $12 per game avg and the system for $100 is what it worked out to.
All the games have the overlays in their paper sleeves inside the boxes, with manuals, etc. The only games without overlays/boxes were artmaster and animaction.
The rest are really nice complete shape.
