Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition, The (Complete)
Mario Kart Double Dash With Bonus Disc (Complete)
$12
I asked about video games at a house Friday and the lady said her husband might have some stuff he'd be willing to put out for sale so I stopped back pretty early Saturday. Sounded like the husband had some older systems but all that he wanted to sell was a GameCube ($30) and a few games. Games were marked $2 except Zelda which was $10. I was thinking of at least offering $10 for both but just decided to pay what they were asking since they actually rounded something up which usually doesn't happen when I come back to a sale the next day when they say they do/may have something.
GameCube Game Disc Soft Case - $1
Activision Plug & Play - $1 (IAP)
Crash Bandicoot Playstation Trilogy - $4 (Complete Except 1st Game Which Is Disc Only)
3D Action Pak (Sealed, Macintosh) - .50
Dreamcast With 2x First Party Controllers - $1
The GC thing was actually from Friday & I forgot to add it to yesterday's picture and was IAP. The Crash trilogy was from an unadvertised sale, asked about games and the guy had a PS1 and a few games he brought out with these that we agreed on $4 for. 3D Action Pak was a buck and took .50. The Dreamcast I really shouldn't have bought as it looks bad, I usually pass these up if they ain't dirt cheap since they could be broken but I couldn't resist the asking price of a buck.
Nintendo 64 With Hookups, 3x Gray 1st Party Controllers, 1st Party Rumble Pak, Generic 4 Meg Expansion & 3 Games
Mario Kart 64
Mortal Kombat Trilogy
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron
$5
Oddly enough I found this at the very last sale I went to today at about 12:45 sitting out with Mario Kart in the system and a $5 price right on the system. I didn't ask how but I don't see a nice little system bundle like this sitting out all day for $5 so I'm guessing it got marked down late or was just brought out late and was marked cheap as to better the odds of it selling and not coming back inside.

Found a bunch of different games for $1.99 at different Goodwills yesterday:
http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/8541/199oz.jpg
The N64 Madden games were complete, the PS2 game is sealed, and The Greatest American Hero season 1 was $4.99.
Then this morning, I found a rummage sale that had some games:
http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/6661/gbasp.jpg
Family Guy for the PSP was $5.00, and the Gameboy SP was in a baggie with the charger and 4 games for $10.00.

Got these today:
3DO Games Secrets- $4
Pokemon Snap- $2
Jet Force Gemini- $1
Stampede (Intellivision)- $1
I don't even own a 3DO, I just love old strategy guides, and this one was in good condition, plus it has tips for some multiplatform games.
Pokemon Snap is literally the first Pokemon game I ever played, and I kind of like it. I should check out the main series.
Jet Force Gemini, I haven't played much into this one, but it seems decent. And of course, Stampede is Stampede, which is awesome.

I went to the local flea today....
I got 3 NES games to fill holes in my collection. As I near the 300 mark it seems to be harder to find games new to my NES library. I'm having to resort to eBay to get some uncommons (see the Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu I mentioned earlier). I don't mind paying a premium for some uncommon games, like Felix the Cat and the Jackie Chan one. They're great action platformers.
Anyways, the 3 NES games I got were Fisher Price: Perfect Fit (Don't judge me >_>...), Star Soldier, and Castlequest. Not exactly the best of the NES library, but decent games nontheless. I've actually never played Star Soldier, but Castlequest is a hard as hell puzzle game. Of course the Fisher Price NES games are for little kids, and they're incredibly easy (which is the point of a kids' game, and I can't judge it for that, really)
The Fisher Price: Perfect Fit was $3. I got it from a game reseller friend of mine that sells to support his family. His game prices are actually very fair, unlike the stuff you usually expect from the game vendors.
The other 2 games came from a seperate booth. I asked how much they were and was told $3 a piece (average price I'll pay for a non-rare or expensive NES game, anyway). I offered 2/$5 and that was accepted. I don't know why, but it just feels better getting them for a five dollar bill and not having to throw in an extra one. (Yeah, call me a cheap bastard)
Oh and I got Cleopatra's Fortune (PSX) for $3.50 on eBay the other day. ($.50 + $3 shipping). It's in nice complete shape. I'm just a sucker for obscure Playstation games, and it looks like a neat one.
Ooooh and another thing. A vendor at my flea market has 2 neon signs that he got from GameCrazy when they were closing: a "Playstation" one and a "Playstation 2" one. He wants $40 a piece, and I could maybe get both for $60. Is this a good price? These are store fixture type signs, the real thing, btw.

Hit the flea market and thought that I had found something cool when I saw a zippered plastic bag containing a Genesis model 2 and a bunch of games, The thing that I had noticed was a plastic box copy of Castlevania: Bloodlines. I took the box out and looked inside to see if the manual was there. Yep, one manual. I asked him if he was willing to sell the game separately or if it had to go as a package. He said that he would sell the game buy itself, or I could have the whole lot for $10. At that price I couldn't say no. As it turns out, I need to look at stuff better before I jump in.
I got home and looked at all the stuff in the bag and it turned out that the wrong cart was in the Castlevania box. It was the cart for Race Drivin'.
The rest of the stuff in the bag was:
Beavis And Butthead - Complete
Dinosaurs for Hire - Cart/Box
Street Fighter II SCE - Cart/Box
Sonic 3 - Cart/Box
Monopoly - Cart/Manual
Desert Strike - Box
ToeJam & Earl Panic on Funkotron - Box
Sonic & Knuckles - Cart
Battleship - Manual/Outer sleeve for cardboard box
Genesis Model 2 with RF adapter and 1 3 button controller
1 6 button Sega brand wireless controller w/Receiver
some unlabeled 3 1/2 floppy disc.
Even thought I didn't get the main thing that I thought was in there, it was still worth the $10 that I paid.

I hate it when that happens; you find a game you want, but the wrong game is in the case. I can't count the number of times I've seen a Genesis game I'd want (Example: TMNT Tournament Fighters), but find some other game stuffed inside the case (Example: Random sports game, yet another copy of Sonic 2, etc.).

I just got this in the mail and couldn't wait to post some pictures!
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i168/kyle152006/SakuraTaisenLEBox.jpg
This is the very first Sakura Taisen limited edition. It comes with a set of decals, Saturn mouse, and mouse pad. There is an "A" and "B" version of this set. The only difference is what picture you get on the pad, but the decals may be different too.
The game case had a cool poster inside that doubles as a map. I'm pretty sure it came with every copy regardless, so I'm not counting that as a bonus just yet. Pretty cool either way.

Neither is game related, but good finds nonetheless. Found a loose Sony battery charger that works with my old Hi8 Handycam batteries for 1.99. Also picked up a DVD box set of Superbowl 1-40 for cheap. It's basically 4 box sets (10 SBs each) in one big package. 3 of the 4 smaller sets were still sealed and the 4th was open but with pristine discs. Good times.

This past weekend's finds (click pics to see full-size):
http://www.killedaway.com/images/yardsales/3ggeartn.jpg (http://www.killedaway.com/images/yardsales/3ggear.jpg)
3 Game Gear games: Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse, Shinobi II: The Silent Fury, Tails Adventure, 1 Game Gear cartridge case, $3.50 for all
I'm not sure why I keep buying Game Gear games. I almost never play them. I guess I just like that they're small so they don't take up a lot of space, and when I do get around to hooking up my Game Gear, a lot of the games surprise me with how fun they are.
http://www.killedaway.com/images/yardsales/metalslugxtn.jpg (http://www.killedaway.com/images/yardsales/metalslugx.jpg)
PSX Metal Slug X (complete), $5
Not much to say on this one. In hindsight, five bucks seems a bit much, but I like the Metal Slug series and I haven't played this one.
http://www.killedaway.com/images/yardsales/12nesgamestn.jpg (http://www.killedaway.com/images/yardsales/12nesgames.jpg)
12 NES games: Adventure Island, Back to the Future, Bad News Baseball, Big Bird's Hide & Speak, Donkey Kong Jr., Double Dragon III, Fisher Price: Perfect Fit, Q*Bert, R. C. Pro-Am, Rolling Thunder, Snake's Revenge, The Three Stooges, $9 for all
These all came from a really nice lady who had them all mixed in amongst a bunch of VHS and DVDs. I almost missed them at first; after finding R.C. Pro-Am, I started digging like crazy until I had found them all. I left Track & Field II behind as I have a half dozen copies of it already, and it had marker all over it. She wanted a dollar apiece which is already a fair price, so I just asked if she would offer a break for buying several at once. She counted them up and told me nine bucks. Nice.
http://www.killedaway.com/images/yardsales/sfhandheldtn.jpg (http://www.killedaway.com/images/yardsales/sfhandheld.jpg)
Tiger Street Fighter II handheld game, $1
When I was a kid, I had a friend who owned one of these, and despite the fact that it sucks and you can only choose from two characters, the nostalgia factor is super-high with this one. Fun little thing to have sitting on the shelf. At the same sale they had a Tiger football game which I also used to play, but I left that behind, as its graphics weren't as charming .
http://www.killedaway.com/images/yardsales/4ps2itemstn.jpg (http://www.killedaway.com/images/yardsales/4ps2items.jpg)
PS2 Onimusha, .hack//Infection, .hack//Mutation, $5
PS2 Code Breaker, $1
Onimusha and the two .hack games came from the same sale. They were $2 each, and I asked if they'd take $5 for 3, which was accepted. The Code Breaker was from another sale, and it was the only item of interest; there were some games there, but they were all sports.
http://www.killedaway.com/images/yardsales/bossphasertn.jpg (http://www.killedaway.com/images/yardsales/bossphaser.jpg)
Boss Super Phaser, $5
Not video game-related, but still a good find. No haggling on this one; five bucks sounded like a great price and the pedal is in really nice shape, so I'm happy to pay it. Hooked it up and funned around with it a little - works great.

A surprising sight at a local GW: NES games.
Out of the ones they had I picked Contra and Super Contra, for $2.99 a pop. These are in nice condition. They look like they've been barely played.
Also lot sale I got a "Jump! Music" MIDI keyboard. Jump! Music was educational piano-teaching software from the late 90s. Yoo Hoo, Kitsune (AKA "Random software guy"), have any of that? I have 2 Roland keyboards, a synth and a dedicated MIDI keyboard, and neither of them work right with my computer's MIDI card. It's either time to get this Jump! keyboard working or upgrade >_<.
Speaking of Kitsune Sniper, I got "World Clique" by Deee-Lite.... Uh wow... early 90s club music. Who could resist a cover like this (http://www.amazon.com/World-Clique-Deee-Lite/dp/B000002H8B/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1276025514&sr=8-1)? I think I've gone to a new low in terrible music buys.

The bad news is with the kids out for summer vacation, I'm not getting to make my runs to the thrift stores, half price books, etc. The good news is that my wallet needs a break anyway. I still hope to get out and find some stuff, but you never know.

Your kids being around means your wallet will be fuller? How does that work...?

Speaking of Kitsune Sniper, I got "World Clique" by Deee-Lite.... Uh wow... early 90s club music. Who could resist a cover like this (http://www.amazon.com/World-Clique-Deee-Lite/dp/B000002H8B/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1276025514&sr=8-1)? I think I've gone to a new low in terrible music buys.
Dude.
Dude.
Even I avoid Deee-Lite. Jesus, have some self-respect!
As for the MIDI stuff, I do not. I've never had any MIDI software... or a keyboard... or anything. I wanted to but I don't know how to play a keyboard.

I've already thrown the Deee-Lite CD out. It was terrible.
Worst $0.50 I've ever spent. That's what I get for buying CDs based solely on their cover art I guess LOL

David Byrne - uh-oh
I've got that one. I only bought it because a Fox TV show called Flying Blind from the early '90s had licensed the song "A Million Miles Away" for the theme music, and some of his back catalogue for the incidental music. Always liked that show, and the theme.
All I bought today was a boxed and complete Wing Commander III: Heart of the Tiger for the 3DO for $2.92, and a Japanese import, Dragonball Final Bout for the PS1 for $4.94. There weren't any other import PS1 or 3DO titles there, which always confuses me. Either someone bought everything else up, or someone donated a single game for that particular console. Odd.
Sorry for the picture quality, my camera must be dying.

I was very busy last week so I really didn't find anything until the weekend but I think I did pretty good.:)

The only game I got during week was Super Mario Galaxy 2 which I paid full retail for.
anyway the rest of the games in the picture where from a yard sale I went to on Saturday a kid was selling all his ps2 and gamecube games for $1 apiece so I picked out anything that I thought was interesting. I ended up with kirby: air ride, billy hatcher, dirge of cerberus, drakengard, devil may cry 2, ape escape 3 and jak3.
My next find was a big one (to me atleast).

I got a lose sega genesis with golden axe 1&2 and a copy of wwf rage in the cage and a turbografx 16 with 1 controller all the cords and the following games alien crush, bonk's adventure, dragon's curse, dragon spirit, galaga '90, vigilante, final lap twin, victory run, takin' it to the hoop and sonic spike plus a bunch of random cords in a box at a yard sale for $7.:D

It is possible someone just traded in Final Bout alone. The game was released here in the U.S. in the late 90s before the series was very popular. People began selling copies of the game on Ebay from other countries for that reason as the game was in high demand. The strange thing is it is supposedly not that great.
And before you go thinking the American version is rare, Bandai reissued it in 2004 for exactly that reason. Due to fan demand, and probably the dubbing of GT in America, it was rereleased in 2004. It even mentions its rarity on the back of the box.
Odd? Yes, but they had gotten enough e-mails about the game that there used to be a blurb on their website about not having any copies of the game.
Well I guess I have to post what I found now to make this post less of useful information and more on topic. So far I've just gotten Super Mario Galaxy 2 from Gamestop's website and Left 4 Dead from Target. Haven't really done much shopping this month.

I'll post picks once I find my camera, but made a really cool yard-sale score. Found a nearly unplayed "Forgotten Realms Archives: Silver Edition" (among a bunch of other PC stuff). The kicker is that the set is (as far as I can tell) complete with all the advertisements, 400+ page manual, and-most of all- the original code wheels.
I really need to take pictures. This set is gorgeous.
Other stuff includes a jewel case of "American McGee's Alice," the duel box of "Dungeon Keeper 1&2," and "The Temple of Elemental Evil."

The bad thing about finding that import Dragonball game was that I only realized that if they had a Japanese game there, that maybe one of the Playstation consoles they had could have been Japanese too. Damn. I'll have to drop by again and see. I did the same thing in a different store, found a bunch of British PS1 titles but it didn't occur to me to look for the PAL console to play them on until a couple of weeks later. Luckily, I did find it, albeit at a different location of their store.

Several things, all at thrifts.
2600 Games. Games had to all be purchased for $15 or 2 a piece. It was cheaper to buy all games for $15 than to cherry pick.
Yars Revenge
Freeway
Oink!
Circus Atari (x2)
M.A.D.
Gopher
Kaboom!
Picnic
Squeeze Box
Stampede
Berzerk
Air Sea Battle
MegaMania
Video Pinball
NES $1.98. Dirty. Don't know if it works. I'll have fun cleaning it up.
Genesis Games.
Shining Force $1
Boogerman $1
Golden Axe II $1
Fatal Labyrinth $1
Battletech $2 (CIB)
Everything was cheap. The Genesis games were all on special, and it was cool finding Shining Force for that price.

For $10 each...
Ghostbusters
Williams Arcade Pinball
He had a few copies of L4D 1 and 2 also, to bad I allready have them.
Anyway's I thought it was a good deal seeing how those 2 games are still relatively new releases and I've bee want ing to play Williams Pinball since it came out.

Gaming wise, finds where slim, although I did find some things I wanted:
- Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (GBA. Loose in mint condition): $10
I've been trying to find a copy of it ever since my sister moved out; who obviously took her copy with her. Also, she said she's got a bunch of GBA boxes for me, so maybe by a stroke of luck, the box for AOS is included...if she didn't claim it for her collection.
Non-gaming finds:
- iMac (Rev. B, bondi blue w\ original keyboard and mouse): $20
I may have paid more than I would have for the much older Power Macintosh a week prior, but this was easily a better deal; a much cleaner, more recent Mac than the other one, and the people running the sale I got this one at actually had everything gathered together and ready to go ahead of time; no waiting 30+ minutes for them to try and find the right keyboard and mouse, buried somewhere in their house. Now, I think I'm finally going to beat Nanosaur; after waiting nearly 10 years to try again...
Put the bikes off to the left of the vendor and people kept walking up to the wanting to know if they were for sale, one kid tried to take a test ride..For Sale>Sure if you'll give me 3-4 hundred..:p
That's one of the reasons why I rarely, if ever, take my bike to a garage sale. Hearing people constantly ask the price on it is annoying, which is why I got to where I rarely took my bike along to sales (Also, there are those sales where my bike is the nicest thing there; even nicer than their beat-up old truck). Also, taking a car was far more practical; there's a lot more room to carry bigger stuff...

Today I found a CIB copy of Super Mario RPG and Yoshi's Island at PnT!
I paid 27$ for Super Mario RPG and 14$ for Yoshi's Island.

Incorrect! That distinction goes to B.I.O. Freaks! Thanks for playing though!
Dragonball GT Final Bout was heavily imported by the people who A. wanted anything Dragonball and B. didn't want to pay the 150+ it used to sell for. I used to see the 'Best' version of that game all over.
TheDomesticInstitution: WOW! Nice finds on the 2600 carts. Four beautiful, mid-rarity carts in that stack. Nice.

Went on a run today...

Ramones: Anthology was $1. Disc 1 is kinda scratched... but I'll see if I can buff it. I'm also missing the outer box and booklet (DAMMIT!) and didn't know this until I got home. My niece is kind of a fan of theirs so I may give it to her if she wants it.
At another booth, I found The Producers (new movie) and Wipeout 2097 soundtracks, both for $3. I picked up the Wipeout one because it has Atom Bomb by Fluke in it. Hee. ~Springtime, For Hitler, And Germany~
Then, just before I left, I found Jesper Kyd's Assassin's Creed II Soundtrack (sealed, possibly a promo version) and Songs From The Trial Of The Century (by Nick Turner).
... Hey, at least it's not Deee-Lite...
I also found a sealed Microsoft Publisher 2002 for $8. There's still a $150 price tag on it!
ETA:
Wait a sec, was the Assassin's Creed II soundtrack a digital-only release? o_O

Basically I've gone on a new game buying bender. 3 new games in less than a month? And I bought another (NSMBWii) a couple days ago! This is a first for me. Not even when we first bought our NES as a family did we get this many new games in such a short time. I must have brain fever (or I've started hanging out over at CAG too much?).
Anyway, Zelda was $18 of filler for another Amazon order. Glory of Heracles was $10.99 + a $10 credit for a future game. SMG2 was $43.10 shipped and I got a $20 coupon for a future game.
For the used stuff: MGS was $14.80 and couple of uncommon N64 games were $3.80 each at Unique. Magic Darts was $2.50 and the manuals were $0.50 (these were all after 50% off for blue tags at Goodwill). Also from Unique, but on 25% off day were the cord ($2.45), Mouse Trap (.80), and the Gen games 1.80 ea. Saw a guy with a cart loaded with Genesis games and Atari XE games... bummer. Only one I could make out was Star Control.

Yeah, those are the nicest and cleanest games out of the whole bunch. It was even better, because this thrift only yields video game items every eight months.

Shit. I had to click on Ryaan1234's link to that Deee-Lite album on Amazon. Now all I'm getting for recommendations are crappy deee-lite stuff.
Also, meant to put this in my last post. Had an odd freebie find quite a while ago:

Disc turns out to be burned. I was out back not doing anything particular and decided to check out the drawers in this desk thing:

Found this stuff in there and scooped it out. There was also an ancient bag of cinnamon toast crunch, but I left that for the next treasure-seeker.

Arrived in the mail today via EMS: an ebay lot that I won last week. I've been wanting a Game Boy Light to add to the collection for years and I finally found one that came with some games too:
http://img814.imageshack.us/img814/5293/dsc0006.jpg (http://img814.imageshack.us/i/dsc0006.jpg/)
A Gold Game Boy Light - works great and has minor wear scratches, but the screen and buttons are great!
http://img814.imageshack.us/img814/636/dsc0008sm.jpg (http://img814.imageshack.us/i/dsc0008sm.jpg/)
24 Japanese games - I divided them up into two groups: ones that I can take a stab at the name, others I have no idea. Here are the ones that I kind of know:
http://img814.imageshack.us/img814/7572/dsc0010sm.jpg (http://img814.imageshack.us/i/dsc0010sm.jpg/)
Top to Bottom, Left to Right they are:
F-1 Race
A Kirby game (the tilt one maybe?)
Tetris
Super Donkey Kong GB
Golf
A Yugioh game
Dr. mario
Alleyways
Another Yugioh game - with "III" in the title?
A Yoshi game
Pocket Monsters - Red Version (Pokemon)
A One-Pieces Game
Now to the ones I don't know:
http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/1285/dsc0011.jpg (http://img824.imageshack.us/i/dsc0011.jpg/)
I would love some help with these and can provide larger images to any who can help. Here's what I do know, again top to bottom, left to right
Some Tile game with "Yakuman" on it?
A Konami game "Vector" and "4" on it?
A Mario game or compilation maybe?
Konami game
A Bandai game "SD" in title
A Kemco game "Selection"?
Banpresto game for "Super Game Boy" compilation or pirate? Cart looks standard
Epoch game - no idea, 1991
A Tomy game "Ninku"?
A Bandai game "Lacroan Heroes"?
A Banpresto game "Detective Conan"?
Bandai game, 1993 DMG-K4J
Oh, by the way this was all an ebay Buy-It-Now deal for $55 USD, but I upgraded the shipping to EMS for $24 more. so, $79 delivered and it seems like a good deal to me.
