As an aside, ALL prizes are going to be mailed out when the contest is over, so if you're wondering where the hell your prize is, now you know.

Wow, I got a BYE? X_x I never expected that. Thank God for Cameltry and Quester. And you suckas are lucky that Tempest was excluded, because i am da BOMB at spinna games. LOL LOL LOL

Seriously though, I didn't expect to get this far. So, if I'm reading this right, SB and I have a bye for the first game, and the second game we each play the winner from the match-ups of people who don't have the first bye? Am I making this too complicated? I just want to make sure I don't have to go head to head with SB. @_@

I'll answer a couple of questions:

INP files will be required for all 4 rounds of the playoffs.

Fergo: yes you have a first round bye. You and SB will play the winners of the divisional playoff games. Who you play depends on the seed of the winners.

Gapporin and I are going to try and get the playoffs started tommorow. If so, Scores would be due on Thursday night. The second round would start Friday morning and go until Sunday night. The thrid round would start Monday morning and go until Wednesday night. I think that I will then have a 'bye' period due to CGE, in which case the championship round would start on Tuesday the 23rd and end on Thursday the 25th.

You seem to be having a good time, based on the fact that you submitted scores every week in a timely manner and posted frequently in this thread. For that reason, I'd like to see you stay in the league. If you ontinue to have a good time that is.

I'm definitely gonna join up with this emulation league. I had such a fun time in this MAME tournament. Really surprised that I had won both of this week's games. Even more surprised about getting to Level 2 in Ghosts 'N Goblins.

Don't worry, fergo, you won't have to face me unless both of us win our first games (the second round, the Conference smifinals), when we will go head to head with each other to decide who advances to the finals.

Maybe I'll lose before then and you won't have to worry about it. :D

I do wonder which games are going to be picked for the finals, though. Are they all going to be quirky Japanese games that no one has played, so everyone starts off at a even ground? Or are they all going to be classics that everyone should know? Or some combo?

You said to make sure that the DIP switch settings were shown in our inp, well, I recorded one, and went back to it, and right when I brought them up, nothing showed up on the inp. So, what am I supposed to do?

Well, if it doesn't work then it doesn't work. We will have to go with the honor system. Besides, if you mess with the difficulty settings, it should be evident upon viewing of the INP file.

I love this game and play it all the time, it's like Road Fighter meets Road Blasters. However I'm going to take the opportunity in this first round to get the last of this RealLife™ crap out of the way since I have a bye. Still can't believe I finished thrid overall in the regular season. X_x

Just send in the score before you go too bed on Thursday night and you'll be fine. I am going to check my mail at about 7:00 AM Pacific time on Friday morning. As long as the score is there by then, you're good to go.

How do you figure that? You can get up on Friday and keep playing, which no one here can do. You have 7 hours MORE to keep playing. But you didn't geet the game announcement until sometime in the afternoon yesterday, whereas everyone here got it in the morning. It all evens out.

Also seems damn hard -- I'm glad I don't need to submit a score. :P

I never heard of it either, but it's a really fun game. I hope the next one is Food Fi- er, fun too. ;)

This seems to be a pretty fun game for something I've never played before. Got a good feeling that I'll win this week.

Its strange, one game I played I got to stage 4, and got a certain amount of points. Then another game, I almost finished stage 2, but I had substantally more points then the other game. Theres a technique to it.. I just dont know what..

Haha, yea, there is a simple trick how to get more points, just watch your INP again in fast forward mode and you'll find out ;)

I couldn't ever get past that damn 4th level. The time I got the furthest turned out to be my best score. Memorization is key in this one. Oh.. and kill some trees ;)

You had me, you absolutely had me, and I had my e-mail setup to send when I realized that I forgot to record an inp for my best game (at the time about 320k...also that was the very first game I played). So I went in and played one more game...and well, I guess I cut down a few more trees ;) I'm curious if anyone actually made it past level 4 though?? That seemed to be almost everyone's cutoff point.

Hey, you're playing against me so you stand a good chance to win. Honestly I really haven't spent too much time with this game in the past so we should be pretty evenly matched.

I'll be frank, I'm glad I'm playing against you instead of DragonMaster Sam. No offense or anything, but ever since he kicked my ass even when I put in a great Knights of the Round score in Week 1 I've been dreading having to face him again.

No, if anyone passes level 4 they should win by default. Sweet fancy Moses, that level is hard. The difficulty ramp in this game is ridiculous. Level 1 and 2 are beyond easy, level 3 is extremely difficult (for me), and level 4 just bends you over a car (or should I say a red brick) and gives it to you. Having to do that third lap is just too much.

BTW, I set my dip switches exactly as told including setting "show cut scenes" to "no", but every time I play it still shows the intermissions. Also, the sound gets really slooooooow whenever one of those rockets shows up. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

I just quit playing to come here and post about those exact same two things. The cut scenes seem to play even though the DIP switch is set to no, pressing the "block" button when the cut scene starts will skip over it.

Also, yeah the audio is chugging BIG time after the first couple levels, causing some sound effects to be cut off or not to sound at all. I had one game where the little "win" music didn't play because a bomb was dropping at the same time. It's almost like the game is trying to jam more sounds than it has channels to perform them on. However it's still playing fine. :)

I played this game as soon as I downloaded it on Thursday, and I was extremely non-plussed. I think I got 150 or something. But then I read the posts and found out about the Make Brick button (I didn't see the attract mode :frustrated: ). I think I did alright. I didn't get as far as Dr. Morbis though. Good luck Mr.FoodMonster, and everyone else!

I'm not sure what "levels" Dr. Morbis is referring to, but if it's the number of goodies you have on the bottom right of the screen then he's got me beat by a long shot X_x

Board 4 is as far as I got -- and I ALMOST got past it, damn thing. :angry:

Anyway, I finally submitted my score. I'm not totally happy with it, but it's the best I can do. Damn hard game.

Anyone else see a great argument here about the whole 'boy chase girl' thing? :) Damn, if I give a girl that many gifts, I better get something REALLY GREAT in return. :P

Well I hit about 25k, good but still very much beatable.

No... that's still a little confusing. Because starting off you get nothing down there. Rescure the girl once (and reach the part where you go down) you still got nothing. What adds even more confusion is if you die on the way down, you start again on the going-up board. So is stage three happen after you reach the girl 2 times (and thus are on the 1st half of the lolipop stage going up) or is when you have 2 items on the bottom right (since level "1" is indicated by nothing down there).

If I had one more day (I actually have tomorrow off), I could probably get to 25k or better, but in reality...I only had about two hours in the past three days when I mentally felt able to concentrate and play for more than 5 minutes.

I ended with just under 20k. Well done good sir :) I hath been slain.
