1. Donkey Kong Country (GBC)
2. Super Mario Land 2: The 6 Golden Coins (GB)
3. Sonic the Hedgehog (Genesis)
Breaking out the classics here, I played through the game from start to finish and got all six Chaos Emeralds.
I am just an observant Sega addict, and most people assume there are 7 emeralds, but there are only 6 in Sonic 1.

I am just an observant Sega addict, and most people assume there are 7 emeralds, but there are only 6 in Sonic 1.
Quoted for truth. Good to see there's another Sega fan on the boards that's from my area.
Anyway, back on topic...
1. Donkey Kong Country (GBC)
2. Super Mario Land 2: The 6 Golden Coins (GB)
3. Sonic the Hedgehog (Genesis)
4. Sonic & Knuckles (Genesis)
It was weird to play this one without Sonic 3 locked onto it. Still, it's a fun game, if not a little short. I really enjoy the music in this game, so it's always a treat to go back and play through it.

1. Pokemon Rangers: Shadows of Almia
2. Kirby Super Star Ultra
3. The Final Fantasy Legend
4. Pokemon Gold
The 2rd gen remains one of my favorite generation of Pokemon. It added so many great things. I was surprised to find that I hadn't beaten this one yet, after all the time I put into Silver. I suggest a play through for anyone who enjoys Pokemon and wants a nearly perfect (and rather cheaply priced) version.

2. Super Mario Land 2: The 6 Golden Coins (GB)
3. Sonic the Hedgehog (Genesis)
4. Sonic & Knuckles (Genesis)
5. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Genesis)
Played through with Knuckles and got all 7 emeralds. This game is still really fun to play, and playing as Knuckles adds a little bit of an extra challenge to the game, since Knuckles can't jump as high as Sonic although Knuckles' ability to climb helps with this a bit. The last boss in this game is especially annoying since Knuckles can't hit him as easily as Sonic.

Congrats on the Persona 3 finish, jwook.
I beat Dynamite Cop on the Dreamcast again the other night. I won't shame myself by telling how many continues I used to do it.
Let's see....I think that the only game that I've completed thus far is Bruce Lee on the Xbox. I just wanted to see whether it really WAS a steaming pile. It isn't that bad.

My first big one of the year, I've been playing it for over a week and I have to say I really enjoyed it. While I wasn't to keen on FLUDD at first, it allows for some interesting platforming elements, all in all it's a great game and one of the best Mario games I've played it a long while and I recommend it to anyone who has a GC and hasn't played it yet.

Another notch on the belt. Even after playing all the other versions of the game, it was nice to come back and play through this one again. The core gameplay still holds up great almost 11 years later, though I did miss some of the refinements made to the series in the later games, this one is recommended for anyone that enjoys a good RPG.

Probably one of the best Castlevania games of the bunch. Excellent music, excellent game play, more great music and an amazing art direction. Much harder than the previous installment, but that is a welcome change. I feel that I might be a bit biased, as I love Castlevania and tattoos and this game has both in great abundance. ^_^

Mortal Kombat (Sega CD)!!!!!!!!!!!
I have had the Genesis and Sega CD versions for years but had never actually set down and "tried" to beat them so I finally made time this afternoon. This is actually the first Mortal Kombat game that I have ever beat.
Don't know why the Sega CD version gets so much flack. The ONLY thing that I found to be a noticeable problem was the final battle with Shang Tsung. When he morphs the game pauses for several seconds to load the new character, however it does not break up the game. It doesn't interrupt your moves or anything like that so it might "look" jarring with all the pauses in the final battle but it still plays perfectly smooth.
It has a TON more detail and animation than the Genesis version and the music rocks! Although I did somewhat miss the chip tunes of the Geny version. I love chip music.:band:

Adding another notch to the belt, I finished this one up this morning. I have to say that I'm a little disappointed, the game is nowhere near as difficult as I remember it being, I haven't play it in like 15 years, and it's also pretty easy. I spent very little time grinding and still had little problem with the game, so I can't say that I recommend this one, give it a go if it's available to you but I wouldn't go out of my way to play it again.

Well, I always seem to start the year with some that shouldn't really count:
1. Mirror's Edge - Xbox 360
2. Zoo Keeper - DS
I thought I'd done this already a few years ago as I placed rank 1 in all modes, however found out that you can complete the main game and get to the credits, so I did it)
3. Peggle Extreme - PC
Yeah, shouldn't count as its more of a demo than a full game.

Silent Hill Origins. Good game I think. Only Silent Hill game I've ever played. Not as good as any of the RE title, but still a good game(not counting the first person RE titles which suck, as SH was far better than those.)

This one...I wasn't so impressed by, the game itself was pretty easy and I just didn't care for the 3Dish gameplay style, especially on the Genesis controller. Overall I thought the game was okay, but I had a hard time getting into it, so I can't recommend this one at all, this is easily one of Sonic's weaker Genesis outings...

Agree with you 100%! I just beat it the end of last year and was in love with it the moment I started it. More people need to get a hold of this game. I enjoyed this. I've read that many people didn't care for it, mainly because Castlevania doesn't function well in 3D (which, in all honestly, it doesn't). I only saw a few problems, like the maps being a pain in the ass to read and complete. Outside of that, I thought the game play was great and the story entertaining. I like Hector, I hope they put him in a future game.

7. Neopets: The Darkest Faerie
You really have to be a fan of the Neopets site to fully enjoy this game. The battle system is what turns most people away from it. Pretty much everything will kill you for the first half of the game, until you get better equipment, which creates an artificial difficulty. It's also glitchy as all hell, with music stopping at random moments, quests not being completable and other such problems. However, the game sounds and looks great. I'd really keep away unless you know the Neopets site well.

I'm going to post my games beaten in 2009 in this post. I plan to post my newly beaten games in a new post bumping this thread. I'm still going to update this post as my master list.
#1 - Soul Calibur IV (Xbox 360) - I'm a late comer to the game, but it is pretty fantastic. (Jan 3)
#2 - Street Fighter Anthology (PS2) - I unlocked everything which meant beating Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper and Super Gem Fighter: Mini Mix to unlock Hyper Street Fighter Alpha (Jan 20)
#3 - Puzzle Fighter HD (XBLA) - I've beaten it a few times - I now mostly just play it multiplayer with my wife (Jan 25)
#4 - Indigo Prophecy (Xbox) - fantastic game but wtf is with that ending? (Feb 4)
#5 - Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure (NGPC) - I beat the game, got 3 or 4 crystals (can't remember which). I don't plan on going back and getting the extra crystals. It's got the Sonic 2 style bonus stages that you have to beat to get a crystal and I really suck at these. (Feb 8)
#6 - Gals Fighter (NGPC) - This is my new favourite NGPC fighter. I'm really surprised how well this turned out. (Feb 8)
#7 - R-type Final (PS2) - I'm not ashamed to say I had to play this game on baby mode. This was damn hard for me, even on baby mode. The last boss was slowdown city. Also, I notice in the credits it says some of the music was performed by the Blue Man Group? How cool is that? In a nutshell, this was a neat game, but kind of boring and slow yet somehow quite difficult. I don't understand A.I. versus mode at all and will likely never play it again, which is a shame because I LOVE the original R-Type and play it on my PCE GT all the time.
Also, wtf is with the silhouette of the couple having sex in the background? (Feb 18)
#8 - Super Street Fighter II Turbo Revival (GBA) - I unlocked everything and everyone. This is an absolutely fantastic SF2 port (Feb 25)
#9 - Donkey Kong (GBA) - I beat this when it was first released, I beat it again this again just recently. This is one of my all-time favorite games - this may be my all time favorite game. (Feb 26)
#10 - Gunstar Heroes (Wii VC) - Of course I beat this years ago, but I just beat the Wii VC version. I wish I still had my Genesis cart! (Mar 8)
#11 - Super Punch Out (SNES) - I need to practice up for the wii version coming out in May. beat all 4 championships 4-0. I've beaten this a ton of times. It's definately one of my all-time favourite games. (Mar 21)
http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s182/c0ldb33r/th_002-2.jpg (http://s152.photobucket.com/albums/s182/c0ldb33r/?action=view¤t=002-2.jpg)
#12 - Super Mario Land (Gameboy) - I hate this game. I beat it again tonight (which takes all of about 30 minutes given that it only goes to level 4-3. (Mar 21)
#13 - Mortal Kombat (Genesis) - I beat single player and defeated Reptile - I pulled that head right off! Despite the crap graphics, I prefer the Genesis version to the SNES one. The presence of blood makes no difference, I just find the combat to be more like the arcade. The SNES version would always let you get away with stupid crap (like beating the enemy doing nothing but foot sweeps), luckily the Genesis version isn't so stupid. (Mar 29)
#14 - Sonic CD (Sega CD) - I've beaten it in the past but I did it again tonight. I actually had to play through the game twice. The first time around I got a "game over" during the mecha sonic race in Stardust Speedway 3 and didn't want to have to replay Stardust Speedway levels 1 and 2 so I used a level select to go straight back to the boss battle. This screwed up my save data and I had to replay the whole game! Oh well. I didn't get all the chaos emeralds, I just can't handle those 3D bonus levels. I did, however, play the whole game with the 6 button arcade stick which made it a lot more fun. (Apr 4)
#15 - After Burner Complete (32X) - Not much of an accomplishment because you get infinite continues. I love Afterbuner II and appreciate how near-perfect this version is. Great fun to play with an arcade stick. Whenever I get hit or crash, I like to shake the arcade stick because that's what it did in the arcade. I'll have to track down the Saturn version next. (Apr 4)
#16 - Metal Slug (Wii - SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1) - I've never beaten it before. Now I have. I'm surprised how short it is. That's okay - I'd rather play a great short game than a mediocre long one. (Apr 4)
#17 - Chrono Trigger (DS) - I beat it and got the normal ending (ending #1). I finished all the sidequests mentioned by the fellow at the end of time. I didn't bother with the fetch quest one because I hate stuff like that. Plus, I got some prism helmets and the rainbow sword, so I was well equipped already. I'll do the New Game + and check out the extra DS content some time. (Apr 11)
#18 - Peggle Dual Shot (DS) - I beat Adventure mode for both Peggle and Peggle Nights. I haven't beaten challenges yet, but looking at them I don't think I'll be able to, so I still count this as a completion. (Jun 4)
#8: Zone of the Enders: The Second Runner (PS2).

Two new ones:
#5 - Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure (NGPC) - I beat the game, got 3 or 4 crystals (can't remember which). I don't plan on going back and getting the extra crystals. It's got the Sonic 2 style bonus stages that you have to beat to get a crystal and I really suck at these. (Feb 8)
#6 - Gals Fighter (NGPC) - This is my new favourite NGPC fighter. I'm really surprised how well this turned out. (Feb 8)

For the first Real time strategy game I've played on the Ps2, this game was awesome and challenging enough for me. I hope they make a sequel

Old:
1. 1/3 - Resident Evil 4 (GC)
2. 1/5 - Dead Space (XBOX360)
New:
3. 1/28 - Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike (PS2) - While I've "beaten" the game many times, I finally beat it with every character, which unlocked Gill and then proceeded to beat the game with him, so now I officially consider the game beaten.
