1. Wario Land: Shake It - Finally got some time to sit down and beat the two bosses I was having trouble with and the Shake King. Hilarious ending movie. I'll go back and open up the secret stages and collect all the treasure chests... I'm not insane enough to try and complete all the missions though.

Another tick for the 360, I just finished Gears 2 last night. I had no idea I finished it when I did, I just suddenly saw the achievements popping up. That was probably one of the most anti-climactic boss battle/endings I've ever seen. Disappointing. Maybe I'll do some online for a bit, but I think next up on the block is Orange Box.

Beat Mr Gimmick the other night. I got the bad ending though.
Damn though, that is one decieving game. It looks so cute and innocent, but once you get going on it, its stupidly hard!

Worth every penny though :)

R-Type II (from R-Type Dimensions - 360). Never played through this one before, even though I've owned R-Types (PS) for years. Of course I had to use "infinte" mode.

Tomb Raider Underworld (360). I stopped playing this game near the end of the last level in early January. I thought I'd finally finish it this weekend. I didn't realize how close I was to the end. Upon loading my save, I finished the game in 1.5 minutes. There wasn't even a boss fight. The game is incredibly easy. I should've just played it on "hard" from the beginning.

1. Mirror's Edge - Xbox 360
2. Zoo Keeper - DS
3. Peggle Extreme - PC
4. Turn It Around - DS
5. Peggle Deluxe - PC

6. Gleam - GBA
Its a homebrew Lumines clone. I enjoyed it very much, its more relaxed and the music/skins are better than Lumines Plus on the PS2.

7. Sonic Rush - DS
Oh my God, the last boss on this has been a major bane to me for maybe a year. I did most of the game early last year, hated each boss battle. And then I got to the last boss. Played it for so long. Then in numerous other sittings I played it for ages and ages and ages. And couldn't beat the boss. So tonight I played it for not half as long as before and finally beat that stupid last boss! No way am I going to even bother doing this as the other character to have to face the bosses again.

And I've still got those 2 DS shooting games I aluded to last time. Am on the last boss of one of them.

And here's one of the DS shooting games I was talking about. I actually first heard about this game through this thread! And while it isn't particularly good, its charming in a very B-movie kind of way. The last boss is really annoying and I'm definitely not going to go through the game again on Hard mode just to see an extra boss and get the proper ending.

1 Ninja Gaiden Shadow - Game Boy
2 Stuart Little - Game Boy Color (I know, lamo, but it counts)
3 Brother Bear - Game Boy Advance (for the wife's sake)
4 Mega Man 7 - SNES (finally, finally able to finish Wily off!)

So far this year, I beat:

1. Top Gear Overdrive (N64) -- Very, very good game, and highly under-rated. Top Gear Rally is well-known for being great, but this one goes under the radar... it shouldn't. It's also got great arcadey driving fun, four player splitscreen, songs with full vocals, and pretty great graphics, as well. It doesn't have a lot of depth, but I like racing games like that... it's more like the 16-bit Top Gear games than any other games since (and I love the 16-bit Top Gear games!), though it's definitely its own game too. (Finished in mid January)

2. Kirby's Adventure (NES) -- Amazing game, of course... it's now got to be a close second behind Kirby's Dream Land 2 for my favorite game in the series. This is Kirby at its best, with powers, special abilities, great level designs, challenge near the end, stuff to find (the hidden bonus stages), and just general Kirby fun. I love Kirby games, and particularly the older ones, and this one is one of the best. (Finished in late January/early February)

3. Bonk's Adventure (TG-16) -- Another pretty good game... it's not as good and definitely not as innovative as Super Mario World or Sonic the Hedgehog, but it's a pretty good game in its own right, with nice graphics and music, fun level designs, and a nice "bonking" gameplay system. Good stuff... It's kind of easy, but that's fine, and there is some challenge near the end, with the final boss for instance. There are a lot of types of enemies and bonus stages, too. It's definitely more 8-bit-ish than Sonic or Mario, but it's clearly a next-gen game too... I definitely want to play the second one now, with how I've heard it's even better. :) (Finished today)

#7 - R-type Final (PS2) - I'm not ashamed to say I had to play this game on baby mode. This was damn hard for me, even on baby mode. The last boss was slowdown city. Also, I notice in the credits it says some of the music was performed by the Blue Man Group? How cool is that? In a nutshell, this was a neat game, but kind of boring and slow yet somehow quite difficult. I don't understand A.I. versus mode at all and will likely never play it again, which is a shame because I LOVE the original R-Type and play it on my PCE GT all the time.

Also, wtf is with the silhouette of the couple havinng sex in the background? (Feb 18)

Just finished (4.) Cyber Speedway for Saturn! :) That didn't take me long, under a week after getting the system... but I am of course a futuristic racing game fan, and Cyber Speedway is a futuristic racing game, and a decently good one. It's got some pretty good art design and reasonably interesting tracks, as well as good controls, but it's short and easy, and the first-gen Saturn graphics hold it back. It's too bad there wasn't a sequel, the game is good and there was a lot of room here to improve on it.

There are only two circuits, one five races and the second six, and then you're done. The conversation scenes in between with the other racers and garage chief are entertaining and help move the game along. The Beginner courses are sometimes interesting, but simple; the Expert courses are definitely more challenging, and in Expert you need to win every race to proceed too, while in Beginner you only need to finish in the top three (out of five racers). So yeah, short and easy; despite having to win each race in Expert and having limited continues, it doesn't take all that long. There were some definite tense moments as several racers always seem to be on your tail (they must have some catchup... :)), and I used several continues, but in the end I edged out the always-tough red hovercar at the last turn... exciting, but fun! :)

So yeah, the graphics are rough and it won't take long to finish, but for a 1995 Saturn game, it's good.

Tomb Raider (PS1) 2/21- It was a fun game, but the last few levels were pretty hard. I would give it about a 4/5, and I will probably play through it again since if you beat the game you get unlimited ammo on all guns.

Deja Vu(Nes)- An excellent point n' click mystery romp with catchy music to boot. The game's length is a tad lacking though.

Mega man 6(Nes)- Just had to beat this little jem again after neglecting it since childhood. Never knew there were hidden BEAT parts.

DeadSpace(360)- Loved the "The Thing" meets "Alien" atmosphere.

Mega man X(SNES)- One of my once a month or so gaming rituals.

Guardian Legend- Somehow this game never grows dull for me. One of my favorite Nes soundtracks.

Almost done with Maximo:Ghosts to Glory, Mega man X2, and Ninja Gaiden II(360)

11. Blacksite: Area 51 (X360)

It was a decent game, I enjoyed playing it and it is an overlooked title on the console, probably due in large part to it coming out so soon after Halo 3. But, to keep it short and sweet, it was a decent FPS that takes advantage of what the Unreal 3 Engine has to offer.

12. Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rainslick Precipice of Darkness Episode 1 (XBLA)

I loved this game, it was fun to play and had some of the best writing I've seen in a game in a while. Just finished it last night and I can't wait to play Episode 2.

2/23 - The Rocketeer (NES) - this game is fantastic, great use of weapons and air combat, awesome platforming, and they only use about 5 different bad guys in the game and I still get my ass KICKED. My only real complaint would be the bosses are SO repetitive in their actions it's a joke.

You'll be dying in thirty years from a massive Adult Overdose, sorry to say.

Ninety-five years? So you're five? Man, kids grow up quick these days...

As for me, I've been stumbling around more HL mods, and working on Contra and some games in MAME recently. I need to try out and finish up probably a few hundred games, but that'll be some other time.

Tried to play Full Spectrum Warrior, but it's unplayably slow on my system. No doubt it's a driver or multicore affinity issue, whatever; I've got other things to do. Watched a Youtube video of soldiers running across a map, done.

#4 Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers for the Wii.

Played thur as Aya on normal. Didn't feel like beating it with the other characters. Its a very repetitive hack and slasher. The Wiimote controls never really felt right, and it only took about two and a half hours to play thur the story mode. There are more quest and characters but its just more of the same over and over. Try before you buy!

Street Fighter 4 and Mega Man Zero. Not only did I beat SF4 on Hardest difficulty, I beat four of my friends 55 times in a row and on the first day I played it got 100 wins between two different XBOX Live account. Played it a few days ago got about another 100 wins along with about 20 wins in a row against two of my friends(one which has got better with Cammy.) The one that talks the most crap about how SF4 should be called Ken Fighter 4 since that's the only character I use now is the one who sucks balls at the game and is one of the worst people I've played at fighting games altogether, yet talks so much crap about how good he is at them if it's been a game we haven't played against each other. He was honestly pissing me off with all the whing about how Ken is unbalanced blah blah blah(which definitely isn't true) until I just flat out told him he sucks ass at fighting games and I could have beaten him with anyone in the roster, which I then ended up doing(Sagat though actually :P.)

Finished Killzone 2 last night. My total play time was less than 7 hours. Wow. Picked it up Friday night, finished it Sunday night. I guess the longevity factor is dependent on online multiplayer.

Metroid Zero Mission. Great game. One thing Nintendo could have left out though was that boring as hell Chozodia area. You get there and then you have to wonder. How did Samus lose her suit in that ship of hers? You also have to ask why did she even take it off in the first place. "Hey, the area is blowing up, but let me take off my suit before flying off, just so we can add a boring area." That's my only problem with the game.

1. Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX
2. Castlevania
3. Marvel vs. Capcom
4. Star Wars Battlefront Renegade Squadron
5. Mega Man X6
6. Saga Frontier (Blue)
7. Silent Hill Origins
8. Star Ocean Second Evolution
9. Contra(NES)
10. Astyanax(NES)
11. Street Fighter 4
12. Mega Man Zero
13. Metroid Zero Mission

Okay, from now on I'm going to comment on my entry if I do something really significant in a game I've already beat this year as well as commenting on the new game. I'm also counting the games in Retro Game Challenge as separate games beat, since I consider them to be full games, and if I ever do complete Retro Game Challenge that will count as well as it really is its own game - ie, i can cheat now and win the RGC which is kindof what it wants you to do.

1. Mirror's Edge - Xbox 360
Beat story earlier this year but just finished getting a star on all the time trial courses. I even managed to get 2 stars on one level and 3 stars on another.

2. Zoo Keeper - DS
3. Peggle Extreme - PC
4. Turn It Around - DS
5. Peggle Deluxe - PC
6. Gleam - GBA
7. Sonic Rush - DS
8. Little Red Riding Hood's Zombie BBQ - DS

9. Cosmic Gate - DS (Retro Game Challenge)
64 Levels of galaga clone. Pretty fun, but pretty easy, especially with warping.

10. Rally King - DS (Retro Game Challenge)
Some people have said this was their most hated game on the compilation but I really enjoyed it as I like racing games and I like the boost drift mechanic in this and placed first on all courses.

11. Guadia Quest: Feast Of The Mad King - DS (Retro Game Challenge)
The RPG in the set. Its about 10-15 hours long. The main game was fairly easy (involving far too much dungeon crawling and repetitive battles and its a shame the story only really happened at the end) but enlisting all 4 coloured GameGuardias was a bigger challenge and took hours of my time but I finally did it :)

12. The House Of The Dead: Overkill - Wii
Bought this with the official Hand Cannon shell. Its a pretty good lightgun game, lasts about 3.5 hours, the story got pretty disturbing also. Will try to go through it again on Director's Cut mode at some point.

The list of games I'm currently working my way through is far too large. Should have some more finished up soon though.

1. Pokemon Rangers: Shadows of Almia
2. Kirby Super Star Ultra
3. The Final Fantasy Legend
4. Pokemon Gold
5. Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
6. Castlevania: Curse of Darkness
7. Neopets: The Darkest Faerie
8. Final Fantasy X-2
9. .hack//Infection Part 1
10. .hack//Mutation Part 2

11. .hack//Outbreak Part 3

Another great installment in the series. Much harder than the last two, but that might be due to less preparation on my part in Mutation than in Infection. The story was really fleshed out in this one and some of the more annoying characters weren't available for most of the game. Plus, having unlimited access to Wiseman was a great bonus.
