Beat Halo for the Xbox Thursday morning. For some crazy reason I decided to play through the whole damn thing in one sitting, something like 8 or 9 hours.

And in the end....eh. Nothing too special. Although hitting someone with a plasma grenade and watching them run around before blowing up and taking everyone out with them is great.

I thought the days levels were a lot of fun, but the game kinda got dragged down by the night levels. Seriously, what happened? I thought Sonic was supposed to be be about running through levels as fast as you can, not beating the hell out of everything you see...

18. The King of Fighters Collection -The Orochi Saga- (PS2)

I beat all five games on the disc, I enjoyed it quite a bit as I actually hadn't played any of the games prior to KoF '98 before I owned this collection. The first two are really showing their age, but '96 onward are pretty good.

Beat Sakura Wars 4 this morning. I was disappointed that the game was so short(took me 7 hours to finish), compared to other games in the series. Oh well one last Sakura game to go.

A title I hadn't even heard of before getting the Ultimate Genesis Collection, but I really enjoyed it. It was short, but it was a lot of fun to play an early 2D stealth game. I plan on playing through it again sometime, perhaps with a second player if I can find someone to play it with me.

S or SS on everything but a single mission. No matter how fast I do it, not getting hit once, finishing it with a suit that has 1 in every stat. I even tried waiting and only killing mobile suits and not blowing up the Musai. Can't get an S rank. S rank on everything else in the game though.

Just as well rounded as the rest of the games in the series. story missions, side quests, cop chases, and now....selling drugs! This game did a fantastic job of using the touch screen as well. Was not expecting such a fulfilling GTA experince from a handheld version, but this definitely got the job done!

I've been on a bit of a Genesis kick lately. Alex Kidd was pretty interesting, it was my first time playing anything from the series, but I thought the platforming was pretty well done for its time and the Rock, Paper, Scissors mini game was also a nice addition, though I fail to see why the bad guys would consider themselves beat after losing to Alex at Janken...

Anyway, Vectorman was also a very enjoyable old Genesis game. This was honestly the first time I had ever beaten the game, though in my defense I haven't played it in a good...thirteen years or so. The game was a lot of fun and I look forward to playing the sequel.

I finished off Assassin's Creed tonight.

I can see why some people were disappointed with it after all the hype it had but I enjoyed almost all of it. I found that it dragged the last hour or so. Also while trying to escape it was too easy to run up a poll instead of running past it.

I thought that the story was well done and the graphics were good and it reminded me of Mirror's Edge, another favorite of mine. I hope that they do even more with the free running in the next one.

Overall I'd give it a 8.5/10

I always wanted to pick this one up, but didn't have an Xbox when it originally hit (2001?). The game recently got back on my radar when it came out last week as an Xbox Original on XBLA...for $15. My local used game store had a ton of real copies for $2.99. Three bucks is more my style so I got this and the sequel.

A pinball game and an adventure game all in one? It's very fun. All the characters and classic Kirby series music is here. Rather frustrating gameplay, though.

Ninja Spirit-TG-16

Wow I was pleasantly surprised with this game. Though it was fustrating at certain spots, but that made me even more determined to finish it. The toughest parts were the level where you had to ascend the mountain, and dodging(or finding a safe spot) falling down that cliff with the instant-kill ninjas flying up at you. Some of those bosses were cake walks ie: the large gray ninja who just walks forward and slashes, and the final boss who just takes a few dynamite blasts to defeat.

All in all a great introduction to the insanity of the Turbo Grafx.

Beat 15-stage continuous, a feat I never managed on Coast2Coast on the PS2 so I'm counting this beaten. A combination of learning gear drifting plus knowing when to brake drift in the later stages is what did it. However, I still crashed out quite a few times so there is much room for improvement!

I finally finished Sakura Taisen/Wars 5 tonight. While I did enjoy playing it, and admiring the all the eyecandy, I was disappointed that the translation faq I was using stopped at the third episode. I used a walkthrough that helped me score points with the girls, and figure out my objectives in battle. Since I didn't know what anybody was saying, sans engrish on rare occasions, I had to take a guess on what was happening.

Still lots of fun and more challenging than I thought the battles would be.

After dying about a million times, I finally managed to finish the game. It was really fun though, I'd never played it before but I really liked how the game played.

This is techinically my second run through of NSMB, the first was back in '06 when it was first released. I have to give the game credit, it was very tough, but it was a nice stroll down memory lane. This play through I took the time to play through every level and collected most of the Star Coins, and I still think I could go back and play it again if I really wanted to, but likely it will get shelved and played again a couple of years down the road.

Another entertaining old Genesis title, but for some reason, I just don't find it to be as good as the first Vectorman. This game came out pretty late in the Genesis' life and honestly, I don't see why it wasn't made for the Saturn, seems like the game probably would've been better off on a more powerful console, but maybe that's just me...

Whomp 'Em (nes) - Decent platformer which plays much like Wonder Boy or Mega Man - choose your path, gain weapons from bosses, figure out the right weapon to use for the boss etc. Pretty fun, but a little too short, the weapons were unbalanced, and the final level made me want to punch the designers.

Decided to get the Saturn out an start playing/picking up a few titles for it. Just ran through Guardian Heroes today, I hadn't played it in a while and it is still just as fun as I remember it. I'm sure it would've been more fun with a second player, but I'm sure that I'll play through it at least a few more times since the Saturn is back on the TV in my room.

I hadn't played the Shining Force games in a few years, so it was nice to come back and play them again. I tried to use some different characters that I don't normally use and I finally raised my characters to level 20 before promotion. It was a lot of fun to play through the game again and now I'm ready to move onto Shining Force CD before getting to Shining Force II.

Just beat Doom 1 (Ultimate Doom version) using the zDoom source port launcher. (Hurt Me Plenty difficulty)

zDoom is really the way to go on a modern machine and I finally got to experience one of the best FPSes. Since it's Ultimate Doom version I'll need to crack the expansion "Thy Flesh Consumed" then it's on to Doom 2 with the super shotgun.

I got my copy of Raiden Fighters Aces (360) on Monday and managed to "beat" Raiden Fighters, Raiden Fighters 2, and Raiden Fighters Jet. Of course "beating" a SHMUP is kind of like beating a fighting game...which is to say I've just scratched the surface.

Armored Core for Answer. Much better than AC4 and easily one of the most enjoyable games I've played for the PS3 and 360. They've added so much content on this one over AC4 that it's well worth the money you'd spend on it.
