Wow this thread has gotten super douchey in the last few weeks. Glad to see everyone still hates everyone, and the world keeps spinning.

Also, not to sound over critical, but Nathan doesn't pretend to have Down Syndrome, or even mentally handicapped. I think people need to stop using Down Syndrome as a general catch-all form of retardation. Just makes you look retarded. (See what I did there?)

For anyone who’s curious, here’s what I’m up to, outside of monthly AVGN and Spike videos.

1. BOARD JAMES
I’ve been trying to get another Board James episode out since April, but there hasn’t been any spare time. The next one won’t be anywhere near as spectacular as the last, but hey, the Mr. Bucket episode was a great way to segue into a break. Hopefully the new one will be done before I go into Halloween hibernation.

2. CINEMASSACRE’S MONSTER MADNESS
“Madness” is exactly what it is. Churning out 31 videos for October is a huge undertaking, but it’s fun bringing obscure horror films to light. I’ve really been enjoying all your voice-over submissions. I hope with the videos, I can live up to them. (See past years’ marathons here: 2007, 2008, 2009.)

3. PLAN 9 REMAKE
Darkstone Entertainment’s making a big remake of the “worst film of all time” Plan 9 From Outer Space. I’ll be playing a supporting role. Expecting to shoot Spring 2011.

4. AVGN DVD VOL 4.
I plan to start on this as soon as I humanely can. I expect it to go out November or December, usual time. They’ll be some good outtakes from the Crazy Castle episode. Other than that, I’m not sure how many bonus features there will be, but it will be packed with all the episodes from 2009. Buy past DVD’s here.

5. THE BLOB DOCUMENTARY
In the summer of 2008, I shot this documentary about the movie The Blob and have been trying to edit it ever since. Part of it covers the annual Blobfest celebration in Phoenixville, PA. The other part is a tour of filming locations from the original 1958 classic. For 2 and a half years now, this video has been dead in the water. Hopefully this Fall/Winter, I can sit down and finish it.

6. FEATURE FILM
Once I’m caught up enough and have some extra time to breathe, I’ll get to work on my first big film. Since it’s not happening any time real soon, I don’t want to spoil anything yet.

I have a hunch that mystery character in the last title card is mr hyde. o we can expect a review on such later.

What really did it for me in the video was that part about jason shooting first. That had me watching the video twice and laughing like a maniac. Seeing the AFC BTTF also made me smile, just to his reactions and how the game looked awesome.

I played the SFC BttF a few years ago via emulator. It's a decent platformer, nothing spectacular, but compared to the U.S. games, it's freakin Super Mario World.

Outstanding episode from his Nerdiness! Jabbed at George Lucas's insanity, Top gun plane flying out the window, called the Roger Rabbit number and got sex talk, and the maddening jumps in TMNT...hilarious.

His reaction on "discovering" BTTF II SFC was priceless, I just about fell off the chair laughing. I actually was about as startled as he was. I didn't remember that game even existing, but then again, I've never actively sought out SFC games. It's also not a game that usually comes up on rom sites or in rom torrents for SNES.

My money is also on Dr. Jekyll. After looking it up on GameFAQs, it actually sounds like it has a halfway-interesting mechanic, albeit a horribly implemented one.

No he didn't. The Irate Gamer did his TMNT and BTTF videos AFTER the Nerd did them. The Irate Gamer came on the scene about a year after the nerd, and then tried to ride the wave of the nerds popularity by stealing his act. But it looks like the irate gamer has pretty much given up since he makes about 2 videos a year now. What a loser. Seriously, did he honestly think nobody would notice he was plagiarizing one of the most popular people on Youtube. God he's stupid.

Anyway, this latest episode of the Angry Video Game Nerd was really good. I'll be looking forward to seeing which game he does next time.

AVGN will never be able to recapture the magical run of 2007 but his reviews are getting good again. I liked the Zelda II and the Re-visit of Back to the Future,etc.

I like when he focuses on a crappy NES game, that has always been his strongpoint.

I really like that his last few reviews have really gotten back to basics and he really emphasizes the gameplay instead of doing 10 minute battles w/ his friends in costumes. I think ever since the 3 part series on Castlevania he has really been on top of his game.

I'm not too sure about that. Don't forget that GameTrailers and Spike are both owned by MTV so it's really one big paycheck. They pay all of their content creators pretty well. At a panel with a bunch of GT creators (Stuttering Craig, Anthony Burch, Ashley Davis) they said that creating videos for GT was their job so it must be enough to support someone.

Not to me it isn't. I visited the site after Gameguy pointed me to it, and I find his horror movie stuff to be much more enjoyable than AVGN. I mean, it's okay to have your own act, but it's pretty obvious he enjoys doing the movie stuff a lot more.

Another online reviewer called Armake21 did a "mini-movie" where the story was about him talking to some friends, and within the conversation a game's name would come from one of them, and it'd cut to a short review of the game. James would probably do it better than that but maybe a similar concept.

He made reference to the Wayne's World movie, which still captured the feel of the SNL sketches but expanded on the WW world. If done right, it could be great, just like the WW movies are. I have little doubt it'll be worth watching, as I've been entertained by all of James' videos regardless of topic.

I would say that he is getting bored of the Nerd. This last effort was fine. Pure and simple fine. If all his reviews had been like this he wouldn't have lasted beyond the first one. I say he'll end it at 100 and that's the last we'll ever see of the Nerd.
