Yes, do we have to have the same freaking conversation every single time he puts out a new video!?

If I'm allowed to vote here, I vote NO.

Since this isn't a democracy (people can post what they want after all), I guess I'll just continue to skip over/ignore them. :frustrated:

New review: Transformers for C64/Famicom

And boy, that's a lot of Action 52 footage in the intro...

Really? I didn't see ANY action 52 footage whatsoever. Have you ever played action 52?

Anyway, good video I thought.

You were more right than you think...

Not only are there Action 52 games at 0:38 and 0:45, there's one at 0:19 (Rocket cowboy I think?), another one at 0:37 (With the Lizard, I can't remember the name), and 0:44 (called "Sombreros").

5 Action 52 games total BTW.

Did anybody notice the brief clip from Lazy Jones?!? (Man, I feel like a real nerd pointing that one out.)

In case you're curious Lazy Jones is at 0:27.

In case you don't know what the heck I'm talking about, Lazy Jones is a C64 game from which the song "Kernkraft 400" was taken from

ive played the 2600 and master system versions of the game, the 2600 version is interesting the same way any complex game for the 2600 is. most complex 2600 games arent very playable or fun, but are fun to dissect and compare and contrast to other ports.

the master system version was a more polished version of the often criticized NES version, the core gameplay is ok. not fantastic, but hardly the worst ever

No, I never played that game. I'm going to have to look through my list and figure it out. It starts playing at around 3:45 and plays until over 4:05.

Metroid maybe? Blaster Master?

I think it's kinda hard to make that much fun of Mario is Missing! Aside from the initial gimmick and some smaller details there's not much else about it, it's just boring. I did laugh at the King Kong part though.

Mario's Time Machine deserved so much more though, the SNES version was a nightmare to me as a kid, having not taken much of history yet at the time and being stuck in the surfing level FOREVER.

Eh. seems like he made this one a little half assed.

Yeah, the games themselves are far more interesting than his dissection of them. No real creative scenes of James on tape, just a bunch of narration and some bookends. It seems like he's spreading himself a bit thin just trying to cover so many mediums week by week. The old AVGN totally would have put the games into a time machine and sent them back in time to a pile of shit or something scatological, at least.

Happy to be the first one in this thread telling that I did own a Cross Fire boardgame. I saw the video review James did about this board game and all I can say is ... visual effects and mega trip ads parody, but not a review like I was expecting... but at the same time, there is not much else to say about this game.

Personnally, I've never saw the commercial he mentions, maybe because it was not translated in french or maybe I just don't remember it.

Jorpho

That game rawked!

I don't think I ever once played it correctly. I figured out that buy doubling the rubber bands on my crossbows and catapults, I could shoot them across the room and demolish my opponent in one shot.

As well as shoot my friend in the face with the catapult.

Does anyone know what the deal is with recent AVGN videos? They used to be every Tuesday night, no? And then it seemed like they moved it to Wednesday a couple of videos ago, but I still don't see anything in terms of a new video, or even an update on Cinemassacre. Am I wrong in thinking the videos are on a regular basis?

I was expecting the new Nerd video to go up Tuesday or Wednesday night, but I hear it’s been scheduled for next week. So don’t worry. Technically, there’s two Nerd videos a month. There’s 5 wednesdays in July, so this does not throw the schedule off, in fact it helps me when I have an extra week. Also, the next video happens to be 20 minutes long which might make it the longest single video since the first Bible Games. And the video AFTER THAT is going to be crazy, so the Nerd is definitely in full gear right now.

I just learned about the AVGN about a month ago and have since seen all of his videos... and learned about the Irate Hack. Holy crap is that guy a piece of cowabunga shit. I've heard of how much he ripped AVGN off but then I watch their videos of the same game, TMNT, back to back and it's an obvious that the Irate Hack is a HACK and doesn't know cowabunga shit about games. I've since rated all of his videos 1 star on youtube because he's a total piece of shit. You should do the same too. Search irate gamer on youtube and you'll see his garbage pop up. And all comments have been disabled on his videos. Hahahaha.

I wouldn't expect someone from Jersey to understand though. Right! Haha! FACE!

Speaking of Jersey, isn't AVGN based out of there? As well as the Digital Press store. I saw a video with someone either working for the store or it was just some gathering where they were interviewing him. Place seems pretty cool. Places like that have disappeared around here in the past 5 years or so...((for good reason though)(like selling a burned copy of Intelligent Qube for PS1 as an "import" for $70))... [(!)]~
