The Ninja Gaiden and Swordquest reviews were really good, I must admit. I'm not really what you'd consider a fan, so I wasn't aware that he thanked his fans for the donations. I apologize to any AVGN fans out there. Again, I really don't watch his reviews that often, and I shouldn't make statements that I'm not qualified to make. I feel like an idiot, and I hope you (and the AVGN if reading this) accept my apology.

I wonder if there's some traumatized kid out there who saw this game in the store, subsequently begged his parents for it, scrimped and saved half of the $200 price, promised that it would be the only game he asked for all year, and then brought it home... That's got to be disappointment of the same magnitude as the Star Wars Holiday Special.

I think I mentioned this before but I owned the Genesis version of Action 52 when it came out. It's hundreds of times better than the NES version- a couple are actually FUN- but still terrible compared to other Genesis games.

I watched some videos of this SilentRob guy at the behest of this thread and holy christ, he is awful. Not *quite* as bad as the GAME DUDE but the videos were cringe-worthy awful in every respect.

He has the same problem as GAEM DUDE where he feels the need to say "fuck" every third word. I love me some creative cussing, but SilentRob's just lazy. He doesn't really have any insightful comments or jokes, just "Fuck, this fucking game is fucking awful" or "Shit, I can't explain how bad this fucking game is." I guess that's entertaining if you have the mentality of a middle schooler, but not for anyone who's ever seen the Nerd or the very few other worthy video makers (or anyone with a room temperature IQ).

The AVGN knows where and when to use cursing. His Swordquest video didn't even use the "F" word whatsoever. Here's a guy with some videomaking talent, and from what I know, started this whole angry reviewing thing anyway.

These other losers should just give up and leave it to the Nerd. I mean seriously, that SilentRob guy farted into the camera lens. Yeah, a real genius at work there..

That's because with all great artists come imitators. James actually PLANS things out. There are scripts involved(as seen in a couple of episodes). These guys just wing it and say fuck every 5 seconds to make themselves sound funny. You remember what Bob Uecker used to say in those Miller Lite commercials: "Imitations don't make it".

I saw the video last night. That was probably his funniest effort yet. I was laughing throughout his entire 26-minute review. Action 52 is a travesty of a video game.

Still, he's not done yet. Part 2, where he reviews The Cheetah Men game, is yet to come. There were grandiose plans for The Cheetah Men according to the publishers of this garbage and hopefully James will mention that.

I honestly wonder how short his Cheetahmen review will be. It's about a game that was supposed to be the best on the pack of games and is also a failure. I mean is there really anything more he can say about it other than the first stage being different and rehashing the same thing over and over again?

He'll need to include Cheetahmen 2 if he's going to have a decent length, but Cheetahmen 2 is just the same game pretty much.

That game is friggin' impossible. I while listening to a podcast I spent over two hours, and 250 attempts (and counting), and I didn't win once. Judging by the comments, I have a feeling that other people have wasted even more time on it. On one try I did manage to get both the key and talisman before making it as far as the crocodile pit, but I never even made it

I also found a glitch in the flash game, which happened to me on two occasions: after getting the talisman, if you hit the square that makes you fall right before door 4, your character becomes stuck.

It's a great waste of time when listening to podcasts though!

Personally, I don't know why he shelled out money for a Famicom when he could have just used a converter in his Transformers review. He even knew that it existed, as evidenced in the Little Red Hood video, when he stacked all the stuff on the toploader. (there was clearly a FC converter there) Anyway, all the commenters were like: "oh the Famicom is a piece of shit" obviously because the AVGN said so. (which puzzles me... FDS compatibility, VCR6 compatibility... You can't lose with the Famicom) I love the AVGN, but his fanboy army will agree with whatever he says. If you don't like it, don't bitch about it. However, I am eternally indebted to the nerd for introducing me to classic gaming. In fact, I'm going to hack up that FDS RAM adapter and enjoy me some FDS Zelda goodness on my NES!

Well, its essentially the same, except the Fami has an extra 47k resistor somewhere that gives it the VCR sound compatibility. That's why you have to mod the NES for that. Besides that and the mic, its the exact same.
