There's another cameo right before them, too: The cop / security guard looks just like Lupin!

Has Doug Walker or James confirmed they've seen this yet?

Whos the 3rd man?!?

Probably just some random extra. Honestly, they are all just random background characters, they just made them look like popular people as a form of eye candy, mostly for people who are rewatching. You used to see this crap all the time in old anime, but the extras were made to look like other anime characters. If you're familiar with older anime, Iczer-One is a good example of this.

JesuOtaku posted that Doug has seen it (check the video comments.) No idea what James thinks.

It'd be kind of hard to identify him as James if it wasn't for Doug right next to him.

Kinda makes me wonder if the guy in the green shirt is supposed to be someone as well.

My comment was actually a reference to something. But its better no one picked up on it. I doubt that guy is supposed to be anyone.

So, apparently James' website had some malware and made it onto the dreaded Google "bad" site list.

I wonder if this was through on-site advertisers (this happened once to the website that I work for) or if he legitimately uploaded something to his own site/servers that was picked up by Google's scans.

I also wonder if this is some extension of the people who report-bombed his YouTube account. Maybe they managed to upload something malicious onto the site forum or article comments.

I also also wonder why he's been so radio-silent about it ... then again, he was really quiet about the YouTube thing too.

From what I remember if you don't have a direct contact at Google, it's REALLY tough to get that bad-list thing fixed.

Poor James, he can't seem to catch a break this year! Hope he clears this up.

The malware thing might've been a coincidence... because a bunch of sites hosted by Blind Ferret entertainment had the malware flags last night, too.

Is that his hosting company too? If that's the case maybe they can clear it up with Google.

AH. Yeah. When the company I work for had their site flagged it was through malicious java coming through on-site advertising. Crazy stuff.

I doubt he would stop unless he has an idea for another series. These videos have made him into something, without them theres no way he would have been able to get money to do a feature length film. Hes busy with the film, so a lot of creative juices are going to that, and soon hell start touring with it to different film festivals. At least hes doing some Nerd videos while he works on it and hasnt put them on hiatus.

I liked that he was trying something vaguely different this time, even if the humor was a little bit off. (I'm reminded of that odd video Mr. Rolfe did a while ago about Optimus Prime's trailer flying away and how it seemed to keep flogging the same joke that was probably a whole lot funnier in his head than it actually was.)

The only funny thing was him reanimating Kyle a few times with ABBA.Man, that's an awesome line taken out of context.

Ugh. I gotta say, this was my least favorite since the Sega CD review. It was just so boring. Like, "nod off to sleep" boring.

In other news, the HAPPY Nerd also has a new vid, on Doom 64, and it actually is NOT boring.

Damn Derek! That bastard is gonna make me buy my first N64 game in years. Eh, I need another version of Doom anyway seeing as the only one I currently have is on the 32X, which I don't have the connecting cables or power supply for.

I enjoy the AVGN very much, but this was a boring episode. He could've done a funny, entertaining review of Ikari Warriors in about 10 minutes (half the length of the actual episode). Or if he really wanted to do a 20 minute episode, do Ikari Warriors for the first half and Ikari Warriors II: Victory Road for the second half.

I'd love for him to rip apart the sequel; it's an infinitely larger pile of dung than the original!

I liked the Ikari Warriors episode, it covers everything I hated about that game. I went through that same shit with the stage select code! I had that "How to win at Nintendo" book, and I kept trying to complete that damn code before they stopped firing. And I did it a few times, but it never worked! I was a little pissed when I finally did it after they stop shooting, when you have more time.

I gotta admit, I... can not contain my sheer enthusiasm. THIS is the Nerd I know and love, and with some old guy I've never heard of who fucking ROCKS! Oh my. And I mean, especially after the disappointment of Ikari Warriors, I didn't expect much, it was.... oh, how can I describe it? It's like playing Devil May Cry 3 after playing Devil May Cry 2, or like playing Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete after playing Final Fantasy VIII. It was like...

THIS is the Nerd's best episode, or at least its one of the best, its in the Top Ten.

Agree completely. This was the best nerd video, i feel like. The outtakes of James laughing was a smart choice. i think maybe Lloyd taught him some tricks to comedy acting or made it less forced? idk.

I just remembered there was a canceled SNES version of Toxic Crusaders (the EGM Review Crew rated it early 1993, I think March). (like the other two Nintendo consoles, the game was made by Bandai)
I wonder if that would have also used Select as an attack button. :P
THERE'S FOUR BUTTONS OF THE FRONT OF THE CONTROLLER, THAT'S NOT ENOUGH TO WORK WITH?

Huh. See, I always thought that game was broken beyond playing. A friend brought it over once in elementary school. At just about the same point a quarter of the way through the first world, the game automatically reset itself back to that dumb time circuit thing. We assumed, at the time, that the game was never finished before being shipped or some such.

He can still do those too, but theres plenty of really bad games on the N64 and Saturn and PS1 to do. He still of course needs to do other bad Sega and Nintendo things. Im just saying mix up the variety. I didnt like the Bill and Ted review, its a weird bad game, but not really enough to be done by him, and he totally botched the Ikari Warriors one. Without Lloyd the Toxie episode wouldnt have happened. Maybe moving forward in bitness would freshen things up.

I'm liking these James and Mike Play videos more than the Nerd's last couple of episodes. I think the Nerd was in a rut for about a year, then the Atari Sports, Schwarzenegger games and Ikari Warriors were more like the classic Nerd and more enjoyable as a result, but then the Toxic Crusaders episode was pretty awful to me, and the Bill and Ted episode was passable until the end, which was incredibly stupid. It felt like some random wannabe trying to imitate the Nerd.

These James and Mike episodes are better than any below par Nerd episode to me, and way better than any solo Mike video for whatever reason. Hope these continue for a long time!
