This is not me selling a copy.

One of a few things happened here:

NationalGamesDepot was able to copy the cart and sell when he had it in his possession from Elliot Daae.

Someone else gave him the ROM and he made the game.

Portnoyd finally found a way to dump it and did the same thing.

I did not copy this game, so I have no idea how this guy got it.

I think the 2nd option is the correct one. Afaik there is a 5. Airball proto that was dumped.

I know NGD didn't have it copied as he was asking me about it. Surely Portnoyd didn't get it dumped and have a repro made that quick did he? He said over at nesworld that it would be quite a while before a repro of it would be made from his cart.

This 5th cart rumor might be true as this might be it. I'm tempted to buy this too just to find out.

That could be but I highly doubt it again. Who would he have sent it to to have it dumped? I'm sure if he sent it to someone over here that it would be known. Plus before I bought it, he told me he hadn't dumped it. I don't know. I will ask him about it though.

NationalGamesDepot says he did not dump it, but he was able to resell a copy of the Dragon Wars from the one he bought from me pretty quickly.

From the articles online, I had always thought that the airball proto had some kind of special hardware that made dumping very difficult. In fact, I remember someone saying that even dumped it wouldn't work without some extra hardware. Then I saw this picture at nintendoage:

If the board picture here is correct and I'm reading the chips right, I think anyone with a copynes could dump this without too much trouble. It also looks reproducible.

It would be really weird if this was NGD because this is the guy who bought NGD's dragon wars repro (see his recent feedback).

Do we know where both of the pictured protos are? There seem to be two different ones.

I think someone said that they each have different levels of completion, so I agree that that should solve the mystery if a person on here buys it and checks to what extent the game is playable.

The first pic is dreamtr's copy I believe. The other is Muresan's I think. I always thought port's didn't have a label even though I might be getting the two mixed up. TRE has already said this isn't port's for sure. I'll ask NGD though.

Here is what happened with Dragon Wars. Me and 4 other people pulled money and bought it together. We were prepared to spend much more than we did, but got lucky that it stayed cheap. We had it dumped and we all got a repro made for our collections. That is why it got done so quickly. The day I got it from you I put it in the mail that day to get dumped/repro. The person who dumped it was one of the people how help but it also.

But I always heard that Airball was un-dumpable, but seems that isn't the cause. Either way this is not me, I promise.
