Nicola, that test cart is just a sticker. There is nothing special about it. I had a couple of those, you can not tell ANY difference between that and the final released version, it's the same production label and everything....

I've asked the seller (before you told me that) and he has replied only now:

"It is a Mario game, the way it was put to me, was that it was an updated version of the game. Later than the original which had some bugs worked out.

Nintendo sent it to us to use, to use in an effort to find bad boards. Some of the earlier boards would not run the game correctly, this was their method for finding the older boards in the field."

No need to explain it any further my friend. But purely from a label standpoint it appears maybe a type of display cart in another light. Simply in that I think its a "not for resale" prerelease display cart... but just because it looks like that part of is just peeking over the part that has "test cartridge".

I was also pondering if anyone else had noticed that during the last day of the auction. DreamTR, still I think there is something subjective about it. If its a not for resale Mario 64 [which will be noticed upon looking for real in person] then you might say oh its a demo then...

Though It sounds like its something unique compared to something you might have owned once. Because hey, that would at least mean it has a different DIS serial no. not on the production Mario 64s label. Well it perhaps needs closer viewing.

That was my understanding as to what these were... I guess repair centers could buy these cheaper than a whole cartridge and 'repair' damaged carts... But you would think they would also come with a replacement sticker, don't you have to carve a screw out of the label of most 2600 carts?

I guess a working cart was the only concern... :)

Take that title with a grain of salt. Description says (and pics show it) "It is used but in AS NEW condition with box and menu!". That BIN is about 3 times what its worth. I don't see any Memory cards... Make sure its got the Yaroze one Programming Ace, otherwise its a waste of a system.

Could be a placeholder on 10 cent day. If you post empty auctions ebay sometimes ends them. But put an expensive game up and you can always change it later. Make it expensive so no one buys it.

I didn't look. But if its so good why hide it? Vidiots has great feedback too. If sellers cancel bids of hidden feedback bidders then less people will have hidden feedback. Whats the bid at? $10? Cancel the bid.
