The pony canyon had planned sale with the super Family Computer, it seems, is, but it seems that becomes the sale discontinuance, makes profit.
ROFL I love the auto-translate feature. Nice find anyways!

Concidering that he doesnt have a single picture of the actual cart, i'd say its 99.999% chance that its a repro. Check his other auctions, he got picture of the actual items there, but not in the FF2 "proto" auction.

Dunno how many here that care about it, but i can mention that this is the SCN (scandinavian) release which is much harder to get than the german release. So unless you're a region collector it probly does matter much.

Wait a second... these WERE just put together. I think the glue used to keep one of the carts together was still wet.
HUGE fiasico. Paypal got involved ,I got my money back (most of it) and he got his bootlegs back and he acted like I was wrong. I told him the bootlegs were not collectable and thus I had no interest in them. He said he only sells games to people who want to play them said no one complained so I was an problem bidder. He even admitted he made them and said he was doing the community a service providing these games. Whatever.. buyer beware thats all I got to say.

I just saw this on Gamesniped:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130121455903
NES Donkey Kong Classic demo/promo cart.
I wanted to make an observation on it (since you can't really leave comments on gamesniped in a sensible fashion)- The question is, is this real?
The on observation I can make is the numbers on the stickers applied to the chips. Those numbers usually reflect the checksum value of the data burned on the EPROM, right? If so, they would have to be either 4 or 8 digits. And what are the odds that the two different EPROMs would have checksums that are so similar?

Well, I always like the layout of a forum like this. So, if there an auction someone wants to comment on, they can just post a follow-up message that everyone sees (and they can 'quote' the specific auction they want to talk about.
I think the only way to make that really useful in a blogging format would be to have a 'comments' section for every auction listed, but that might get bit tedious as well... The other problem with the blog format is that people have to actively click on the Comment link to read it, and most people probably won't bother...
Looking at the comments on Gamesniped, the most I can find on any listing is 2 (and most of them have none). So I'm assuming most people just read the blog, look at the auctions, and that's it... Obviously for comments to work, people have to participate. That's where a heavily populated board like this seems to work better... Do you have any idea how many people actually check Gamesniped on a daily basis? That might have something to do with amount of comments, not sure.
Rik

rik1138, I will quickly reply to your message, but this is not a gamesniped topic! Sph1nx, don't go OT :P
Comments are mostly made by spammers and bots. Every time someone makes an userful comment, I copy-paste it on the main subject.
I don't know why people doesn't comment a lot. I would say that I'm lucky since searching alone takes up to 2-3 hours. I wouldn't have the time to moderate many messages.
As for how many people check Gamesniped, we have an average of 500 single visitors daily, 16,821 from the beginning, 1,457,283 accesses from the beginning.
Let me post two auctions that I find very cool:

I'm trying to find reference for this post. I suspect I know who you're talking about.
I have been coming to the very late realization that TIKyle is constructing his cartridges. I think it's pretty close to Best Electronics making protos with mask ROMs. He seems to have the company backstock. Problem is, I have noticed, having bought some of the same games from another source, that the label and case are different. The font is wrong. I'll try to post a comparison with pix.
Actually, I'm getting pretty pissed having spent quite a bit of money with this seller. Sucks he's just about the only source of these rare TI bits, but now I wouldn't really consider him a source. For the hardcore who want original goods, it will probably drop prices in the long run, as the less discerning and knowledgable collectors won't care as much.
He sells under: kyleti994a
He does have some interesting authentic stuff regularly, but I wouldn't trust his databiotics stuff. It looks pretty much newly fabricated. And it's a bit of a scam not to admit that he is constructing the carts himself, as needed.
Sure does.
I bought some TI games from him. Several hundred dollars worth. I only got a half shipment and all the games were MINT. Really really Mint. In fact they looked like they were just put together. His stuff is really good, yeah. His descriptions are awful and he has a $10 flat rate for one item to the US. I'm wondering how he could have perfect feedback when it's $10 to ship. I know for a fact you can ship a loose cart for $3 to and from Canada.
I wrote him about combining shipping. Anyone have any experience with the seller?

Here is an example of TIKyle's handiwork. The black cart was from a lot I got on eBay that had thrift store prices tags and was far more worn than TIKyle's stuff. These could have been faked but I doubt it.

Here is an example of TIKyle's handiwork. The black cart was from a lot I got on eBay that had thrift store prices tags and was far more worn than TIKyle's stuff. These could have been faked but I doubt it.
Its a shame.
The games are so rare most don't know what the real ones look like anyway.
He is making tons of cash selling these fakes. I wonder if even Texas Instruments cares?
I am 100% sure you will get your money back if you ask as he is afraid to get negs and ruin his "business" I am speaking from experience.
Paypal already has my complaint on file. Another complaint with the same issue (counterfit product) will help those others who come after you. He did not deny it when I complained only said it didn't matter Paypal thought different.
I do have to say this thou. The hardcore TI collectors have to be idiots. How can they not notice this and not throw a fit? Its been going on for along time and as the seller noted most of them bought and reported A++ on past sales. I only bought a few and even with no carts to compare it to these stuck out like a sore thumb.

Wait wait! Here I am!
The bay has many protos today, for various systems. These aren't hard to spot, but I find that 2 particular auctions are worth discussing here:
PC Engine Turbo 16 Development System Made by Sharp (http://cgi.ebay.com/Rarest-PC-Engine-Turbo-Graphx-16-Development-Dev-Sys_W0QQitemZ250146557270QQihZ015QQcategoryZ123439 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) and a great collection of concept art (http://cgi.ebay.com/52-Disney-Video-Game-Concept-Art-Production-Samples_W0QQitemZ180144306752QQihZ008QQcategoryZ18 7QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem). Not the original ones, but very interesting anyway!

This is not a PC Engine dev system. This seller has already been e-mailed by several people from the Assembler forum that this is just a stock Sharp X-1 Twin and yet he refuses to update his listing. It's not worth all that much as they are available frequently on Yahoo.JP. It's basically just a combination of a Sharp X-1 computer and a PC Engine, kind of like the Sega/Amstrad Mega PC.

Dan Krammer former Atari employee had these. He had a total of 3 or 4. Curt (the one running the auction) bought all but 1. I have the one he did not buy.

We all know it's a fake, but I thought you might be interested to know that this is the guy that said he had the zelda 3 proto for nes some time ago. No, not the guy from Canada who tried to sell zelda 3 on ebay and said that Silicone Knights bought it, but the guy who had an article on his site (ratedo.com). He had an article and a discussion and said it worked great. Then he got mad when everybody pressured him to prove it and said he wouldn't prove it because everybody was being mean. Then he said it stopped working (but he had a really bad title screen picture and movie and crap). Then he pretended to sell it on his site or something like that...
Yeah, so now he's trying to trick people into buying badly faked protos on ebay.
