Stupid Best Buy just sent me an email saying the Poker Pack game is backordered. I hate this crap...they do it all the time...list something in stock and then never have it. I'll probably swing by my local store in the next day or so to see if they have any. So, don't place an order with them, even if it says its in stock.

i really am close to picking up some of the import games from fry's. i don't normally like to import stuff, but they're making it so easy to just go in and get them... wouldn't mind jump superstars or bleach.


How much are the import games at Fry's? The nearest Fry's to me is about an hour and a half away. I'd be willing to go if I can pick some imports up on the cheap.

I got the glass case from a local company that sells store displays...it cost around $200.

The A Boy and His Blob is just the case. I got the final boxart that was made for the game from a guy who used to work at Majesco. I was really close to snagging a proto of this and Black and White, but in the end he wouldn't sell them :(

Basically it comes down to me knowing (for the most part) which games I'm going to enjoy...so those are the ones I'm going to open. The rest of them are for me to enjoy in a different way...to have as part of a collection, instead of being there to play. I'd rather keep the stuff I won't like playing in the best possible condition.

i think it's just top gun... *possibly* miss spider, but i think all of those are later in may...

and the rumble pak deal has actually been going on for about a week now. it doesn't come packaged with the game. the rumble pak is packaged separately with 2 stickers on it. sticker 1 names the games it works with. sticker 2 says that the you can get the product free with metroid prime hunters. go check it out at frys, that's where i saw it. they had a whole endcap devoted to the game, the rumble pak, and DS systems, with a little sign up telling people about the deal.

I was getting a little annoyed with the regular styli so I decided to find a cheaper better one and here is what I came up with

Step 1 Find a Bic type pen and an extra stili

And there you have it a longer stili that anybody can make. I also later added one of those rubber grip things that was on another pen. There is no glue used to make this unless you wanted to make it stronger but mine seems to work fine. And before anyone says anything I belive in japan they have a item that does the same thing but this is freeish and you dont need to import. And with that what do you think?

yup... picked up top gun at gamestop on wednesday. i've noticed that not ALL gamestops carry it though, so check the online store availability to see which ones near you have it in stock.

i also recommend going to a store that has 4+ copies, as the first store i went to had 1-3 and they tried to pawn off the gutted shelf copy on me. perhaps i'm just picky, but i can't bring myself to actually buy one of those.

I caught this auction the day it was posted. I've been looking for a complete copy of this GDC version for a while with no luck, but the seller's picture of the game only showed the cover with sticker. So to be sure it had the letter in it, I asked her a question about it. She responded that the game DID NOT have the letter with it. So I just let the auction go.

While searching through My Ebay today I noticed I still have the auction "watched" so I clicked on it to see the final price...$20...a reasonable price since its missing the letter.

So, the game did have the letter after all...hidden away in the manual...so difficult for the seller to look for to make sure. I've had a standing offer of $75 for a complete GDC copy of this game and this one sells for $20 :angry:

anyway, drexel, nintendo apparently gave the first 100 people who bought the ds lite at the nintendo world store in NYC a free copy of brain age... i know it has the seal on the front, same seal saying it's a copy from GDC. i'm not sure about the note inside, or the 'demo' sticker on the back of the actual card, but it's worth investigating. might be an easy way for you to pick up a copy now that newer ones are out there.

well... the fight to get the DS download station is over before it began... there's a ton of them listed now. looks like this thing probably won't be that hard to get actually. that is, at least no harder than any other kiosk demo card. that's good news. let's us all shop around and hopefully everyone can get it without too much trouble.

as for this week's games... point blank should be the only one. it's supposed to be in stores today, but i stopped by a few places and nobody had it yet.

made a good run at the download station though. i was winning for a full second before getting outbid at the end and ultimately lost. shocked me, since the guy that was winning before me is the same guy that spent $243 on a castlevania demo. i expected to see similar numbers on this one.

while i agree, the reward program for NOA is awful... but i can't imagine that this game wouldn't be available at all in the US... the other game&watch games for game boy came here... so did pac-man vs and the zelda collector's edition titles that were all japanese incentives.

i doubt we'll see game&watch offered via reward program, and if japan's not even getting it as a full release then we probably won't either... but i wouldn't be surprised if this became the first DS lite bundle offered later this year. it would easily fit in with the whole 'touch generations' thing of simple games for non-gamers.

just something to think about before dropping a ton of cash on the japanese club nintendo version... you may not want to hop on board the first one posted on ebay... hold off a bit and it might wind up coming here.

Personally I don't think US will see a release for it. But I could be wrong considering it does work well as a "Touch Generation" title, and Nintendo is really working hard to push those. But you can't compare this to the Game & Watch Gallery titles on GB/GBC/GBA, those were much more full fledged and actually redone, this is simply taking old games and putting them on the DS.

Thus far, anything that hit Club Nintendo first has yet to see an American release. We got Collector's Edition first, as well as Metroid Prime 2 Demo. Outside of that we haven't seen anything cool yet. And it sucks because I really want those awesome GameCube controllers.

I am hoping to get a complete DS collection too. But I am concerned that there will be too many title released eventually so many that I'll never have a complete collection like the playstation there are just too many to keep up with.

i think you're looking at a collection in the wrong way.

i'm collecting DS games because i genuinely enjoy the DS and its games. i'm not doing this because i want to have a complete collection of... something.

so from that perspective, i hope we DO get a ton of titles released. that's what keeps things fun.

You can't really compare the fanbase of classic NES games to the fanbase of Game & Watch games... it's like David to Goliath.

granted, a lot of people (the young'ns) didn't know what a game&watch was until SSBM... but given the NOA track record of trying to squeeze everything for the maximum amount of profit possible (as a good company should), i would not be a bit surprised to see it release this christmas for $20, or maybe even $15, slapped with a little 'touch generations' label...

"it's a non-game! it's retro! it's cheap! it's the holidays! it's the perfect stocking stuffer!"

at least that's what i would do... give it flashy boxart, price it to move (since it's only 3 games) and stick it out on the shelves during the busiest shopping season... people would eat that up.

EDIT: oh, and i found point blank ds in-store at fry's... had tons of copies, so it's probably not rare, just new.

I went up to EB Games to pick up Break 'em All for the DS. I saw Pirates of the Carribean behind the counter on the floor and they sold it to me.

yes, i knew about it... but i don't think that will make it any more difficult to find in the short run. i'd just make sure that you pick up a copy early on if you want it... cause i'm sure at some point the exclusivity factor will play into the game's ultimate value.

for what it's worth though... i read somewhere (?) that it's not an exclusive by gamestop's choice, but rather... they're the only retailer that actually picked it up for sale. all the others declined (no idea why) and thus gamestop sorta fell into the exclusivity... thus no major price hike. not sure if there is any stock in that, but interesting if true.
