For those who didn't know, the SNES version has it too. You can also access it in one of the levels (however, it wasn't included in the GBA port - it probably has something to do with the fact that it was published by Majesco).

I wonder how many people will purchase this just to play the original Pitfall! on their Wii.

I bought Dr Mario Express, it's pretty great. Well worth 500 points.

I also bought Birds and Beans. It's just like the warioware version, but it's neat that you can play it at any time. I also like that the screen is a little bigger than its GBA counterpart.

Do you know if this version can play online? Can it play online against the cart version? If so, that'd be great!

Actually, given the price, I'd probably just buy the original game.

The plane game looks pretty good. I know its on Warioware GBA, and I loved playing it on that version, but the DSi version seems to solve my single complaint with the original. It was too hard to see what turns were coming up. The DSi version fills the entire bottom screen so you've got plenty of time to prepare. At only 200 points, I'll buy this one.

That is not the last Koei Strategy game on the vc soon sadly as it appears.

Genghis Khan II: Clan of the Grey Wolf is ESRB rated has been rated for a couple months. All of us know Koei games are being released in North America lately, so it possible that it could be release in May or June.

Clayfighter - Genesis 800 Wii points

The source is http://press.nintendo.com/articles.jsp?id=18489 .

Clayfighter was released in Europe in February. I used to own the Genesis version of Clayfighter. It is not the worst head to head fighting game I played on the system, but it is one of the worst I played on the system.

I played my sure of Head to head fighting games on the system and that includes Ball 3d, Justice League Task Force, All Street Figher 2 games, and all Mortal Kombat games for the genesis.

The worst fighting game I played on the Sega Genesis goes to Virtua Fighter 2.

There are better head to head fighting games on the Genesis vc side like the 2 Street Fighter 2 games.

Screenshots, info and gameplay video of Clayfighter is found on http://vc.nintendolife.com/games/megadrive/clayfighter .

A game review on Clayfighter is found on http://vc.nintendolife.com/reviews/2009/02/clayfighter_virtual_console. The reviewer is a big time fan of head to head fighting games and has a much bigger collection of head to head fighting games than I do.

How many of these indistinguishable Koei strategy games were there? And why are they all being released on the VC?

There were 17 Koei Strategy game releases in North America for the Snes back in the day. We only got 4 of them on the vc so far.

Koei is only into releasing games on the Snes for the vc at this time.

Koei didn't support the vc a lot yet in North America. It took Koei 2 years to get another Koei game on the system after Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV was releasing in March 2007.

They are not releasing a lot of vc games as you expected. 4 Koei Strategy games released in Nov. 2006 isn't a lot.

It appears like Koei is about have another break from the vc now in North America, since there are no more esrb rated Koei games, or Japanese vc releases from Koei yet.

Blecchhh. I got 1800 Wii pts burning a hole in my virtual pocket. C'mon Nintendo gimme something good!

(or should I just cave & buy Groovin' Blocks...?)

Nintendo should be releasing something good soon on the vc based on the systems the vc has. Here is info each system based what North America could be getting soon on the vc.

I can tell you that Super Mario Kart got OFLC rated and Pilotwings is ESRB/OFLC rated for the Snes section of the vc and Square Enix did announce Final Fantasy 4 will be coming the vc. The problem is no one knows when for sure.

North America is one N64 game vc game behind Japan. The game is Super Smash Bros. I don't have an idea when it is coming.

North America doesn't have the following nes vc games that were released Europe or are ESRB rated: A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia, Devil World (don't know if will ever make it here), Pro Wrestling, Skate or Die, Super Pitfall and Square Enix announced Final Fantasy 1 (Don't know when though).

North America doesn't have the following Genesis vc Games that that were released Europe or are ESRB rated:

Crack Down, Earthworm Jim 2, ESWAT: City Under Siege, Pengo, Pulseman, Shanghai II: Dragon's Eye, Sonic & Knuckles (it is ESRB rated, but Sega is making the game XBLA exclusive for a period of time) and The Revenge of Shinobi.

North America doesn't have the following SMS vc games that were released in Europe: Secret Command(aka Rambo: First Blood Part II), and Fantasy Zone 2.

According to Hudson's website, Sim Earth will be coming to North America sometime this month.

There are not Neo Geo Game release plans at this time.

North America doesn't have the following arcade vc games that were released in Europe:
Space Harrier and Space Invaders was announced by Taito in March as a vc Arcade release(hasn't been released yet in North America.)

North America doesn't have the following c64 vc releases that were released in Europe: California Games, Cybernoid: The Fighting Machine, Impossible Mission, Impossible Mission II, International Karate +, Jumpman, Last Ninja 2: Back with a Vengeance, Last Ninja 3, Mayhem in Monsterland, Paradroid, Uridium, Winter Games, and World Games.

Space Harrier - Virtual Console Arcade 800 Wii Points

The source is http://press.nintendo.com/articles.jsp?id=18661 .

Video gameplay on the Arcade version of Space Harrier is found on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOH68OsvOEI .

Space Harrier was released on the vc last year for the Sms. The SMS version wasn't as good as the arcade version imo.

Just reaquired the SMS cart. For those who haven't played it, it's one of the best SMS games there is. It was kind of a special cart when it came out because it was a 2-meg cart. Once you play it, there's almost no need to play Fantasy Zone 1 anymore.

Today's vc release is the following:

California Games - c64 500 Wii Points

The source is http://press.nintendo.com/articles.jsp?id=18948 .

North America now has 12 less C64 vc games than Europe does after Today's vc release.

I never played the C64 version of California Games. I have played the Atari 2600, Atari Lynx, and the Sms version of the game though. All versions I played are pretty good imo.

California Games on the C64 can be played up to 8 plays like versions I have played the game on.

The game has 6 different sporting events. They are Half Pipe Skateboard, Foot Bag, Surfing, Roller Skating, BMX Bike Racing, and Flying Disk.

The C64 version of California Games is pretty fantastic IMO.

It was AFAIK the first platform the game was released on (along with the Apple II) and EPYX were one of the if not the biggest Commodore developers in 1987.

It was the version that I cut my teeth on and judged all other versions by ... I'm tempted to make that my 1st Wii C64 VC purchase.

The C64 version of California Games is pretty fantastic IMO.

I've never played the C64 version, but I had the NES and Lynx versions growing up and they were both a lot of fun (except for the Lynx version's half pipe). My friend had the SMS version, which was good, too.

For $5 (500 Wii points), it seems like a perfectly worthy purchase. I'll have to check it out!

Loved the C64 version of California Games as a kid. This is the first VC release in quite a while that I'm excited to be picking up. Hopefully, it's held up and it won't go into the "play for a half hour and never touch again" a lot of my VC purchases end up being...

Bit Trip Core is pretty fantastic. Balls hard, but really fun, and really good music in it, too!

Today's vc releases are the following:
Secret Command - Sms 600 Wii Points
Pulseman - Genesis - 900 Wii Points

The source is http://press.nintendo.com/articles.jsp?id=19042 .

Secret Command is the European version of Rambo: First Blood II. There is no difference between Rambo: First Blood II and Secret Command as a result. North America got the European version of the game because of Sega doesn't own the license to Rambo video games anymore and North America has to pay an additional 100 Wii Points to download the game as a result. The fact is North America would have to pay an additonal 100 Wii Points if we got the same with the North American name for this Sms title because of the Rambo license.

I played the game before. It reminds me of Commando and Ikari Warriors. Secret Command is an average game unlike Commando imo. North America is now caught up with Europe in Sms game vc releases.

Pulseman was a Sega Channel only game back in the day for Europe and North America supposedly. I never played the game as a result of me not having the Sega Channel during the time it existed.

Pulseman was released in stores in Japan only.

Gameplay video on Pulseman is found at http://vc.nintendolife.com/games/megadrive/pulseman .

The only reason its 100 points more is because they can get away with it by calling it a import title that's never been released in the US, making it somehow more special and worth a premium. You made it sound like it had to be 100 more.

Maybe I'm a little happier about Pulseman that I should be... ^^;

There was no vc release today July 20,2009.

The proof is http://press.nintendo.com/articles.jsp?id=19063 .

This has happened to Europe before.

Europe didn't a vc update for 1 or 2 weeks straight before. Europe still gets vc updates, but just not every week.

I am sure that is happening North America now.
