Why? What possible excuse can they have for not releasing one measly game? It's not like they've run out or anything! Annoying!
*sigh*
Oh well. Maybe they're trying to secure rights for Michael Jackson's Moonwalker across all platforms (Gen/SMS/Arcade) and have an MJ Tribute Day?
Ha... that'd be the day!

Well, usually WiiWare games come in 2s alongside VC titles. It was probably just because they had 3 WiiWare titles ready to release at once this time.

I doubt Nintendo or Sega is trying to secure rights for Michael Jackson's Moonwalker.

I expect the Jackson family to ask for a lot of money out of Sega or Nintendo to release Moonwalker and that is the reason why Moonwalker can't be released.

And here I was buying the whole trilogy in cart form a couple months ago... Still, I only paid $15 for all three so I still got a pretty good deal.
I had never played Empire before (had played the first and last quite a bit though); damn that game is HARD!
At least the others have a more reasonable difficulty!
On an slightly unrelated topic, I picked up Indiana Jones' Greatest Adventures on the SNES around the same time because I thought it would play just like the Star Wars games and be full of action and great tunes. Boy, was I wrong. Played to level 3 and declared it an uninspired snore-fest with annoying music. :p

PictureBook Games: Pop-Up Pursuit - 800 DSi Points
Family Slot Car Racing - 500 Wii Points

The source is http://press.nintendo.com/articles.jsp?id=19617 .

There is not much info on PictureBook Games: Pop-Up Pursuit except for the Nintendo press release description of the game . The description of the game is Enter the world of PictureBook Games: Pop-Up Pursuit and enjoy a family board game set in a pop-up picture book. Instead of simply rolling dice to move along the map, you'll use cards (which can help or hinder progress) and coins (useful for buying more cards, but don't forget about your Coin Bonus at the end of the game). Spaces on the map play an important role in the game's outcome, and your computer-controlled opponents exhibit different personalities and behavior. Occasionally, the mysterious Book of Magick will be opened, causing an event that may change according to how you play. This mixture of exciting game play and charming, artistic atmosphere give Pop-Up Pursuit high replay value and unique depth—even if its characters are flat.

Price: 500 Wii Points
Description: Originally released on the SEGA Master System, Phantasy Star is a pioneer in the role-playing game genre. Alis is the fearless female protagonist out to avenge her brother’s death at the hands of cruel dictator King Lassic. info obtained from: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2009/08/nintendo_download_monkeys_rattles_fantasies_and_pu zzles_us

IMO, the original Phantasy Star is still a pretty solid RPG, even with its faults. If you like the series (and don't already own one of the many compilations it's been released on already), you'd do alright to give it a download.

You must not pay any attention to this service or ever check the shop. :)

North America got it's first VC C64 release in February, 7 months ago. It launched with several titles, including The Last Ninja. It last saw a update in June, and now has 7 releases available to purchase for $5 a game.

What the...I must have missed it and I think the last time I did check it was on January. LOL Thanks for the heads up and my apologies.

Got a question, I noticed Earthworm Jim & Clay Fighters are on the virtual console. Were they better on the Genesis? I played both of them on the SNES.

Today's Wiiware releases are the following:

You, Me, and the Cubes
Publisher: Nintendo
Players: 1-2
ESRB Rating: E (Everyone) - Comic Mischief
Price: 1,000 Wii Points™
Description: Experience a unique combination of strategy and skill as you maintain a level playing field in the physics-based action puzzler You, Me, and the Cubes. The action centers around Fallos, mysterious creatures that resemble humans and have an ability to balance on a playing field of 3-D cubes. First, create a pair of Fallos inside your Wii Remote™ controller by shaking it up and down. Next, determine suitable places for the Fallos to land, then fling them to the selected cube with a swinging motion. After that, the Fallos are on their own. If your placement is sound, the Fallos will remain stable and you'll clear the stage after tossing a required number onto the cubes. But if the weight or locations of Fallos causes the cubes to tilt and sway too much, the Fallos will lose their balance and fall off. Adding to the challenge, you'll find that some cubes have different properties, making tosses tricky and further threatening the stability of the Fallos. Guide Fallos through dozens of single-player stages or invite family and friends to join you in two-player cooperative mode.

Got a question, I noticed Earthworm Jim & Clay Fighters are on the virtual console. Were they better on the Genesis? I played both of them on the SNES.

In my opinion, EWJ1 is better on the Genesis. It plays better, has more sound effects/voice samples, plus the SNES version omits the "Intestinal Distress!" level. EWJ2 on the other hand, seemed to be a little better on the SNES, at least for the reason you could play around with the cow's voice at the end of a level. Aside from that, they were pretty similar.

As for Clay Fighter, I always thought it was better on the SNES. It has crisper visuals, better sound, and do I even have to mention the opening song? Kick-A.
It's still OK on the Genny, but loses points in the A/V department.

I'm pretty sure there's a PS2 Capcom Classics Collection disc that contains the arcade ROM of Street Fighter. Would that be a better option if one were really serious about playing this game? I've only played Fighting Street for about 2 minutes at the Game On! exhibit in Chicago, so I can't really compare, but I remember having to "charge" the I and II buttons for stronger attacks. I own the Nes cartridge of Final Fantasy over 13 years. The nes version isn't a bad game imo according to my memory of the game.

The nes version had a couple flaws that I recalled like players in my group trying to attack an enemy that was already killed earlier in the same turn. That flaw is found in some of the older rpgs though.

Final Fantasy 1 isn't as good as Dragon Warrior 3 and 4, but is better than Dragon Warrior 1 imo.

This could be the start of getting the Final Fantasy Series on the vc, since Japan has Final Fantasy 1 to 4 on the vc in Japan.

FINAL FANTASY...

QUOTE]

It wasn't a flaw. Dragon Warrior 2, 3 and 4 + Final Fantasy 1 & 2 for NES were not programmed to conveniently redirect the attacks to other types of enemies if a targeted enemy was already defeated in that turn. Final Fantasy 3 for NES was one of the first games to change that.

When playing those 5 games, it kind of makes it so you really have to plan out your attack strategy rather than just keep pressing A during battles like you can do in many later games and get away with.
