Hey, my name is Brian P. Sulpher, and I come here by way of the NES General board at www.GameFAQs.com. The reason I come is that I am in search of information upon the crook named NMorgan, a fellow NES fan for whom I used to have some respect.
I am a fairly dedicated NES player, who has done a fair share of FAQs and IGN Guides (freelance work) in the past 3.75 years. Nice to meet you dudes.

Hey everyone! :D
My name's Matt, 20 years old, Linguistics major at Montclair State U., NJ.
A short time ago I discovered the digital press store, fell in love with it, and now, much to my liking, I'm the *second* employee there! :D
My first day was today, and I loved it so much!! ^_^ Joe and Jenn are absolutely amazing, and I'm looking forward to going to work now ^.^v
I've had a controller in my hand since 1988 when I got my first NES. I am a HUGE Mega Man fan, which began when I beat Mega Man 2 (best game EVER) when I was only 5 years old. I like pretty much all games, except for Grand Theft Auto. My favorite genres though, are RPG and Action.
I may be new here, but I look forward to meeting you guys, chatting with you, and working at DP!
Here's to the start of something great!

Hey Everybody -
I've been a lurker here for a long time, but finally decided to join up. I'm mostly into the old stuff (NES/Genesis/SNES, etc), but have recently been after AES, Japanese Mega Drive and other harder to come by stuff. I've been gaming since my sister got tired of her 2600 back in the day and it ended up in my room. I even went as far as to work at an EB/EB Games for almost 5 years. Let me know if anyone want to trade some old games. I have a ton of feedback on EBAY and CAG, and I'd be interested in anything old game related.

I am an American based writer, nearing thirty, who has been published in scattered locations. Right now, my current manuscript is a young adult fiction book which I hope to revolutionize the publishing world with. Short of those lofty goals, I will be happy paying the bills. I have had three previous user names on here, all of which were eventually closed due to inactivity. It is not important what names I used to post under, since I wasn't anything more than a face in the crowd (despite piling up 3,000 posts combined under those names). I didn't moderate, just preferred to participate a couple times a week. I have enjoyed the DP site for several years and would love to post regularly enough so I don't get locked out, but sometimes I fail to do so.
I own the following systems, which varying amounts of games: Commodore Vic-20, Atari 2600, Nintendo NES-top loader, Sega Genesis-Model 2, Super NES-Model 1, Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo Gameboy Color, Atari Jaguar, Panasonic FZ-1 3DO, Nintendo 64, Sony Playstation 1.
I can't say I have anything that is rare. However, I do have a few items that happen to move some dollars on Ebay, mostly because they are in demand. It has nothing to do with them being 8-10 on a rarity scale.
Excuse any spelling or grammar errors. Regardless of how well-written my introduction is or isn't, it doesn't impact my wallet. Otherwise, I'd put effort into fixing this. Catch my drift?
I'm John, from upstate NY and I found the site while searching for info on various NES clones, I've been gaming since age 3 (1981) with the atari 2600 on through the NES, gameboy, and genesis and then fell out of console gaming (prefferring computer games and pen and paper RPGs) untill about 2000 when I got the pokemon snap station kiosk out of blockbuster (I was employed there at the time), unfortunately my mom made me throw out the kiosk (and eventually the photoprinter), but I kept the tv, n64, 'not for retail' pokemon stadium and other strange hardware (like the pcb with two cart slots) from within. Currently I collect mainly NES and N64 games, but also am interested in Playstation, genesis, snes and gba.
Out in the real world I'm a fine arts student (painting).
My favorite games include:
Dr Mario (any)
The New Tetris (N64)
Super Smash Bros (N64)
Pac Man/Ms. Pac Man (any)
Final fantasy Tactics (PS and GBA)
Marvel Vs Street Fighter (PS)
Rampart (NES)
Gyruss (NES)
Life Force (NES)
GTA 3 (PC)
Hello, I am TDD, or The_Double_Deuce.
I am a Homestar fan. Basically, I like any Mario game, or anything Nintendo or Sega related.

Hi everyone. I'm Jose and I live in Progreso, Texas. I'm 32 years old and have been playing video games since the NES launched here in the U.S.
I'm currently a curriculum specialist in an elementary school and enjoy playing nintendo games.
I found out about this forum through Cmtz. He and I are co-workers in the same campus.
I'm not much of a game collector but do plan to start collecting DS and Revolution games.
Thanks for having me everyone. :)

Ah Hello. Pleased to meat you all, I wish to enjoy my stay and have fun like most everyone. As the name implies there is maybe a fixation or facination with nintendo games but thats hardly unusual. This digital press bussiness rocks as far as I can tell which makes me glad to be here. See you soon 2

02-14-2006, 12:08 PM
Hello all, NiktheGreek here. 19 year old student from the UK, also sighted at various unconnected forums such as Sonic Cult and World of Stuart.
Found the site a while back but I found myself put off for a long time by that slightly intimidating "large forum" feel. Over half of my collection is made up of games for Sega consoles, though there's also a fair chunk of Playstation stuff there and lately, there's even some Nintendo creeping in.
I never actually set out to collect games, it just happened along the way. I started playing games from a very young age (about 3 years old) on my dad's Atari 2600, which I was given when he moved out a few years later. Shortly after I got a Master System II for my birthday (largely owing to my Sonic obsession and the cheap price), and it all started there. A fair amount of my collection has actually been handed down to me for free, by friends or relatives. I only realised that I had so many games three years ago, when I started to build my collection list from an online database and found out I had over 300 games. This has since grown to the present figure of just over 500.

found the forum indirectly from a myspace account.
I started out playing fighting games heavily when i was younger...SF's,MK's, Killer Instint. Fell in love with Golden Eye. Legend Of Zelda... Big Halo fan. Roomate introduced me to world of RPG... almost too scared to emerse myself in that type of gaming... (ill forget to eat!)
I currently own an NES, (three types of Nintendo brand controllers) Zapper, Snes, super scope, mario paint, N64, GameCube, ps1,ps2, Xbox, Genisis. and many games. more in collection... ask if you really must know.
I just work to support the habit.

My name's Jess. I'm a 24/f. I'm short, have blue hair/blue eyes.
I live in an apartment in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts (boring little town sandwiched between Lowell and Nashua(NH) -- just 40 min. north of Boston.
My favorite games of all time are Final Fantasy X, the Legend of Zelda series, Mario Bros. series, Ducks Ahoy!, Kingdom Hearts, Bubble Bobble, and lots of others, but the list'd get too long.
The systems I own right now are NES, Genesis, and PS2 (but I own games for other consoles, as well). I don't know if I'd call myself a collector, but perhaps when it comes to gaming, I'm more of a pack rat. I've just never had the heart to throw any of it away. So, I've still got all of my original systems, as well as their original games. I do try to keep everything in perfect working condition, and I've never needed to exchange nor buy any new parts. I treat my older systems like elderly people who need lots of delicate TLC.
When I'm not gaming, I'm watching anime, taking photos of everything I see, reading manga, penpalling with friends all over the world, having drinks with 'local' friends, DIY...'ing', and taking road trips to places I've never been to.
I'm glad I found a place which honors classic gaming just as I do. Thanks for reading! :embarrassed:

Well to start off my name is Jack, I live in knoxville Tennessee but have moved all over the south (6 times :-/ ) Lets get one thing straight... their is nothing wrong with being a southener, but I am no southener. :)
I found the forums by accident really. I have always loved video games (since '92) and one day a few years back I went to a website that listed the rarity and estimated price of games. Over that time I got more and more interested in games, specificly older ones (SNES mainly, lol you guys probably consider those new.)
Games:
1) Super Mario RPG - First game I actually wanted
2) Earthbound
3) OoT
4) Shenmue 2
5) The Longest Journey
The list is probably not accurate in the least, other than number 1.
More personally I attend ETSU East Tennessee State University. CS with a consintration in IT. Network management of securities I'm aiming for... something along those lines.
P.S I can't wait to really join this community, my initial interaction with everyone has been amazing!

I stumbled on this site by accident.
I currently work for a major communications company who recently went through a merger. My hobbies include lots of videogames, Japanese Animation, doing video production and working on my videogame website http://www.paradoxshift.net.
As far as videogames I have 23 game systems and 663 games (give or take a few).
Pleasure to meet all of you!

I'm Chris, from Middletown, NJ. I found out about this site after learning about the store from one of my friends. Great store. Caught up on my SegaCD and SNES stuff and beat some guys on a Neo Geo machine. Haven't done that in about ten years. :D
My favorite games are almost always going to be 2D fighters and platformers. I love a good RPG as well though.
Older systems I'm actively buying games for include the NES, TG-16, and SNES. I always wanted to get into Intellivision and Commodore 64 stuff again but never quite found the ideal combination of game selection/system/etc. that I wanted. That's going to change now that I know about this awesome store though.
In real life, I'm an ASM at Gamestop, where the fun never stops. ;)

Hello, I'm Mike D, I'm a newbie.
I live in Massachusetts and recently I've blossomed into a more serious NES collector/player than I've been in the past. I've bought up a couple lots from people who were looking to get rid of their NES games, and as it stands I own about 108 of those light-gray beauties. Other systems I own:
-Atari
-Sega Game Gear
-Sega Genesis
-Super Nintendo
-Virtual Boy
-Nintendo 64
-PlayStation One
-PlayStation 2
-Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP
I won't get into it too deeply, but the fire that has fueled my NES obsession is based on a traumatic experience as a child. To make a long story short, when I got Super Nintendo, I diplomatically allowed my cousins to borrow my NES and the games. The system was not at their house, however--it was kept at a neutral location (my grandmother's house) for all of us to share in the fun. Then, inexplicably, they took the system home, proceeded to quickly break and destroy it out of sheer negligence and stupidity, and to top it all off--they threw away all of the games. My young spirit had been broken.
Oh, and I found the Retrogaming Roundtable because I'm destined to discover more about my prized NES cartridge, Satan Den. It was mentioned in this (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6404&highlight=)blue balls-oriented thread--one of two mentions of Satan Den that I've ever seen, throughout the entire internet, in my whole life.

Hey all
My name is Aaron Petrosky, I'm 24 and from Pennsylvania.
I been playing games since I was 4 years old, the first system being Intellivsion.
I mainly collect for the Master System. (For some reason I find it funnest to collect for)
I do try to collect for other systems but sometimes for financial reasons I sell some of my games so my collection changes lots of times.
I watch Hockey, and my favorite shows are the X-files and Boy Meets World.
I plan on finishing school soon to become a travel and tourism major. I currently work right now as a CSR agent for a company called Teletech.
I found this site through another site and always read the boards but never posted. I'm glad I'm part of them now.

Who you are: Jon
Where you live: Vancouver Canada
How you found the forums: Through another website while looking to increase my NES games
What your favorite games are: Of all time goes back to the Intellivision Shark! Shark! I loved playing this as a kid and I would play it literally for hours. I still think its a great concept for a game.
What systems you collect for: Just the NES, its my favorite system of all time. I love how original the games were but I also grew up with it so that makes me a bit bias.
What you do in "real life": Spend time with my wife and make money to buy more NES games
There was no real moment that I decided to start collecting games it was more just I wanted some NES that I remember playing or wanting when I was young so now is as good a time as any to go after them. I'm not out for a complete collection I just want the games that meant something to me growing up or that I find fun, which makes my wallet and wife very happy.

What systems you collect for: At the moment, serious about collecting Sega-CD (top priority), 3DO and CD-I
What you do in "real life": Work for game money! What else?
Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc: Been playing and collecting as far back as I can remember, and am also experienced in the arcade industry (building cabinets, PCB collecting, etc.)

Mr. Sound-About
03-08-2006, 05:10 AM
I am Mr. Sound-About. I collect bad game systems; the kind that will make you question the sanity of their creators. Examples? Sure, but you'll be sorry you asked:
Supervision, Super A'Can, Gamate, Mega Duck, Game Master, Game King, to name a few. And a few is plenty, because if I name any more you're likely to vomit.
I collect such things because I like them, and because much like myself, they were forgotten before they were ever known. So, that's about it, I guess. I live in USA, if you're curious, but you probably aren't. You'll likely see me here, posting about my various eBay auctions which include some rare gaming artifacts that I have finished getting excitement from, and am ready to pass on to the next excited gamer. Otherwise, I'll probably make a squeak very rarely, unless of course someone decides to actually make mention of one of the obscure systems above - but since everyone hates them, I seriously doubt that will happen.
Now, please allow me to shuffle back over to the dusty shelf in the corner and regain my place upon it.

I'm Michael. 21 and from Toledo, OH. Currently going to the Univeristy of Toledo. Not sure for what, besides learning Japanese. Also have a 4-year-old that takes up most my time, otherwise.
I'm mostly into RPGs. I tend to go far out there and play/collect imports of them. Right now I'm more so collecting cheaper domestic GBA or PS2 RPGs, but I've jumped back into wanting the imports of series I like (big fan of the Atelier games- even if I only have two). It all started when I was only four and watched my brother play games. My first RPG was Ultima V (also a favorite series of mine), though I mostly just stole crops from people and attacked guardless places.
I've come here a few times before, but just signed up on the forum. Usually I would look in the Online Rarity Guide.

I'm Shane from NY. I started collecting about 3 years ago. First systems and now games. I have almost all the systems I want, totaling 20 as of today. I have a few hundred games, nothing much compared to the number of systems (and compared to some of you folks!). But I hope to expand it quickly.
I work for a major insurance company (one of the largest in the world, towards the top of the Fortune list), play drums in a band called Full Circle (http://www.fullcirc.net) and design websites (http://www.fullcirc.net/sriley) for fun and a moderate profit. Hello, I'm Ben. I live in Westover, Maryland. Westover is a pretty rural place, so gaming stores are literally non-existent.
Despite this, I have gotten several games through eBay and Amazon. The most notable part of my collection are my GameCube games. I have over 50 of em'. My favorite game at the moment is Resident Evil 4. My all-time favorite game however, is Gunstar Heroes. If I ever buy another Genesis, that's the first game I'm going to look for.
Recently, I've taken a great interest in Macromedia Flash, although it will probably never go any where. My favorite Flash movie, of course, is Rockman Neo (the 2nd Arfenhouse movie is a close second).
Here are links to those movies, for anyone who's interested:

03-21-2006, 03:41 PM
Hi there, the name's Matt, but most people on the internet know me as SuperYoshi or SY for short, heh. I'm 16 years old, and I live in Pennsylvania.
I found this site while searching on Google for the Collector's Closet segments from Tips & Tricks. I've been an avid collector ever since I first really got into video games. Why, some of my earliest childhood memories are of me playing some NES classics such as Mike Tyson's Punch-Out and Super Mario Bros. I had always loved video games, but I was never a true collector. I would always sell my games once I got bored of them, a costly mistake. I think around 2000 is when I really started to get into collecting, which was when I finally got my own Super Nintendo (I was a Sega kid back in the 16-bit days). Nowadays I mainly collect video games for the NES, Super NES, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, PSX, N64, and Game Boy. I've always been wanting to buy the Atari 2600 and Sega CD as well. I have a collection that just topped 300 games some time ago. I plan to make it even bigger than that over time.
I've got alot of favorite games, I've never been able to pick just one favorite game but here's a few: Dynamite Headdy, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Battletoads, Mega Man X, etc.
In real life, what with me being 16, I spend most of my time in school (Which, I sware, I must be the ONLY classic gamer there). I'm not sure what I want to do with my life. Right now I'm practicing animation and working on Flash movies every now and then as a hobby, but video games are the main focus on my life, hehe. That's about it. This seems like a real cool forum, I think I might like it here!

My name is Mark, I'm 26, and live in Canada. I've been playing video games since i was in Elementary School. I remember being awed by Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt on the NES when I first played it and then playing Nintendo at friends' after school all the time.
I've been collectiong video games for the last 3 or 4 years now. It all started when I remembered how much fun my younger brother and I had with my SNES and N64 way back when.
Believe it or not though, my first system was a Nintendo Game Boy I bought broken from a friend for cheap in Junior High School. The rubber contacts under the directional pad were worn out, so I replaced them with some from an old calculator and it was still working great when I sold it years later. I had fun games like Tetris, Super Mario Land, F-1 Race, Donkey Kong Land, and a few oddballs like Boxxle and Shanghai.
My second system was actually a NEC TurboGrafx-16! This lasted about a week. After I had enough with Keith Courage In Alpha Zones, only 1 controller port, and hardly any games available, back to the store it went (now, I wish I still had it of course).
With the TurboGrafx-16 gone, I promptly picked up a used NES from a friend, and enjoyed it immensely for a few years. I had games like Ice Hockey, Rad Racer, and of course Super Mario Bros. 3.
The time came and I sold the NES and bought a used SNES. Little did I know then that this would become my favorite console of all time. Classics like Super Mario Kart, Pilotwings, Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario World, and Star Fox entertained me for years.
Next, the buzz around the Ultra64 was starting so I sold my SNES and games to get what became the N64, my second favorite console of all time. I enjoyed games like Super Mario 64, Golden Eye 007, Mario Kart 64, and Wave Race 64.
Around this time my brother traded his Nintendo Game Boy in for a Game Boy Color and The Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX. It was O.K. but I found the screen hard to see unless there was a lot of light.
Then I go away to college, and a few months later I find out my brother has sold the entire N64 collection (mostly mint and complete), in order to buy the new Nintendo GameCube. Needless to say, I wasn't too happy that he basically traded in a complete N64 setup and ~15 good games for a new system with one controller and Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader. But later games like Super Monkey Ball and Burnout grew on me, and I started to enjoy the GameCube more.
Finally, my brother traded his Nintendo Game Boy Color for a Game Boy Advance and Metroid Fusion. The screen still required a lot of light, and I was loosing interest in portable systems. I do most of the driving now so I can't play in the car anymore (Game Boy used to be great for long road trips).
To fast forward to the present, I've been rebuying all the old consoles and games I used to enjoy, plus many more I never had (like the Sega Genesis I just got). My brother still has a Game Boy Advance and a GameCube, but he's mostly a PC gamer now (yeah for Counter-Strike I guess). Thanks to eBay and a few local pawn shops, I now own:
Nintendo Entertainment System & 17 games
Super Nintendo Entertainment System & 23 games
Nintendo 64 & 23 games
Nintendo GameCube & 27 games
Nintendo Game Boy Pocket & 5 games
Sega Genesis & 14 games
That's a total of 109 games.
I guess I should mention the fact that I'm a computer tech and also have my share of PC games (which I don't really play much anymore, consoles seem to be much more fun after fixing PCs all day). Anyway, thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed my story.

After several years of coming here to Digital Press and actually meeting some of the members here I realized that I had never introduced myself.
My name is Ken Bell and I live in sunny Yulee, Florida almost on the border of Georgia. I used to live in several different cities in Ohio such as Ashtabula, Cleveland, Brookpark, and Cuyahoga Falls. I am Married to a beautiful girl named Rebecca that I met while managing an EB Games in Cuyahoga Falls. We moved to Florida after we came here for our honeymoon and to be in a city where we have a few relatives and friends.
I'm going to cut and paste over a post of mine from another thread here on DP:
Around 1979 or 1980 my Dad won an Atari 400 from his work at his company picnic. I used to watch him play and eventually started playing the easier games like Boulder & Bombs, Pac-Man, and others of the time. I remember him playing StarRaiders with a big book and the keyboard and thinking it was like controlling a real spaceship.
In 1987 I bought a Nintendo with Metroid, Castlevania, and Super Mario/Duckhunt.....it was all over from there. I practically stopped ALL outdoor activities and playing with most toys. All I ever wanted for birthday or Christmas presents were Nintendo games. We kept the Atari hooked up and I played that about 20% of the time.
My best friend (who was my next door neighbor) had a Master System. Then he got a Genesis and I got a SNES, we never sold any of our games and amass quite a large shared collection between the two of us...this was around 1991 or 1992. I had even started a small Import collection of around 4 or 5 games by this time that was a result of me having a job and being impatient....no way was I waiting for Mario Kart!
In 1993 I wanted an Turbo Duo so bad I could taste it so my Mom decided that if I could find a used Duo for around $100-150 that she would buy it for my big Christmas gift. I tracked one down in Erie, PA which was around and hour or so away. My Mom bought it (secretly) along with around 20 games including Y's, Neutopia, Cadash, Cosmic Fantasy, and others. Right after I recieved that gift, my Grandma gave me $50 dollars for Christmas I used this money to bribe my friend Kyle into selling me his Sega Genesis with 2 controllers, Sonic 1, and Castle of Illusion! Now I had access to my best friend's 40+ Genesis library.
That next summer in 1994 I had an Atari Lynx that I bought new (from old stock) with 6 games for $59.99, my next conquest was a Sega CD! I was now working at Babbage's Software and pulling in a little cash so that year was a blur....I started the year 1995 with an Atari 400, Atari 2600 Jr. (hand-me-down from a buddy), NES, Genesis, Sega CD2, Atari Jaguar, Turbo Duo, SNES, Gameboy, and an Atari Lynx.
My parents were not into games anymore and I had taken over the basement as my base of operations. I had all of my precious systems hooked up to a 19" Zenith with a GE stereo calibrated just like the Sonic CD manual told me to! All of this along with a collection of around 200 games made for fun times for a 17 year old kid!
I bought a Saturn at launch day for $399.99 along with Virtua Fighter and Daytona, I was in heaven! I continued to buy all of the systems from then on out right around launch and kept on playing the "old" ones too.
Years passed and I sold/traded here and there. Until one fateful day I ended up losing my Turbo Duo and Atari Lynx in a trade to Captain J (another DP member and my cousin) for a N64 w/Zelda: OOT & Castlevania!
Now I am 28 years old and I now own 1000's of games and dozens & dozens of systems. I start off a collection with the ones I like(d), then I go into the ones I couldn't afford when they were new, then I buy the rare games, lastly I move into the crap commons I will never play. The problem I have always encountered is that with so many different platforms to choose from I never focus on one as much as I would like too.
About 4 or 5 years ago I got my first Digital Press Guide and started collecting for everything under the sun, now I finally had checklists and could know what was valuable/rare. I still find tons of joy playing the "classics" and have recently rediscovered the almighty Neo Geo (I had one for a breif stint about 5 years ago).......there goes all they rest of my cash!

Introductions, eh? We don't need no steenking introduc --
...oh wait, we do. Oh, fine.
Name's Beth, though I go by the handle of Dragomorph on the net, and for various reasons I tend not to give out my last name unless necessary. (Long story.) I live in beautiful rainy Seattle, and have been a gamer pretty much my entire life. Family legend attests that my first full sentence was "I want a Nintendo Entertainment System" in perfect diction. Ah, the power of advertising.
I believe I first found this site trying to find reviews for more obscure NES and Famicom games. Lately, I've been ducking in here because y'all seem to know what you're talking about, and because it's nice to be able to read posts that aren't ALL about the same darn games over and over again. I'm kind of a marginal collector; that is, I prefer to collect what's GOOD and not what's rare. Also, what's in my price range. Blah.
I have various game related interests; in particular, I'm interested in finding more information about games never released in this country for the older systems. I'd love to make a website for Famicom games if I had more working knowledge of Japanese, but alas that's not the case. Anyway, I've only just properly started collecting Famicom games ever since buying a Messiah. (For the record, I'm a TAD bitter about it, but at least I still have a working Nintendo, so it works more like a Famicom for me.)
Nice to meet y'all.

Hello everyone!
My name is Fred and I found these forums from the Neo-Geo.com forums. I am an active member there but with all the drama, I found a place that covers all I enjoy about gaming.
I currently am new to collecting video games and have just recently purchased an Xbox. I have been playing video games since the Atari 2600 Jr. system was released. I have always enjoyed gaming and now can afford to have the collection I have always wanted.
In real life I work for HP in Colorado Springs and enjoy it. It gives me time on the internet and that is always fun.
I will start collecting for Xbox then move onto another platform. I have bought and sold many, many times and wish to stop selling at this point.
Thanks for your time,
Fred

Hello!
My name is Martin and I am from England (UK). I am studying a physics degree at Manchester University and I am really into my games. I am 22 years old.
My auntie bought her son a gameboy and I used to love playing tetris on it when he would let me! Then a NES was bought (I used to be childminded by her so it was fun being there!) and I got into the Nintendo/Mario scene.
I never owned an orignal game boy but I had one of those tetris video game things - fun for passing time!
The day finally came when a Megadrive was bought. Sonic the hedgehog. The colours.... the speed... I was hooked.
I ended up being bought a game gear and sonic the hedgehog, which was very good but wasnt enough (plus sonic 2 was solid!).
Eventuallym I got a megadrive with Sonic 2... OMG!!! I was beyond hooked. Hearing the music (which I have in MP3 format) still makes me smile. Sonic and Knuckles and Sonic 3 was my gaming highlight. My friend and I took 2 days at a sleepover to get all the emeralds and complete the best game at the time (in my opinion!).
I got a SEGA saturn with my own money and was wowed at Sega Rally. Still the best racing game out there in my opinion.
Then I got a Dreamcast... and a lot of games! Love that thing. Hated seeing SEGA go under, but I still love them.
In between, I owned a PS1 and my brother also had a gamecube - we both got xboxes to play together and now he has a 360 and I have lots of retro stuff. he's 18.
Nice to meet you all!!

Hello everyone, I am Richard from the United States. I am a college student at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. (Basically the middle of nowhere.) One of my friends at a game shop told me to come here to check the online rarity guide to check out what was rare/hard to find. My favorite games of all- Radiant Silvergun, ESP. RA.DE, Ikaruga, Gradius( II, Gaiden, and V), Renegade(Nes), Dracula X( PC-Engine), Double Dragon II (PC-Engine), and Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne. Honestly, too many to name, I'll break it into genres-Puzzle, RPG(includes Stragety/RPG, Action/RPG-ect.), 2-D fighters, basically anything besides sports and military shooters.
Systems I collect for- Nes, Snes, Turbographx/duo, genesis, sega cd, saturn, ps1, gamecube, dreamcast, ps2, and a little bit of gba and DS. I would like to collect more Neo geo, atari, duo, and 3DO, but when you are limited to stores, flea markets, pawn shops, and the normal retail stores, picking are slim.
How did I get into gaming? Well, I was a military child, and I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time in Japan as a kid, and my dad brought home a pc-engine for me, and I think ever since then I was hooked. Sure, I didn't have the language skills for it, but when I played Gunhed( I think its called Blazing lazers now,) I don't think I moved from that one spot for like 9 hours. @_@
However, that is me in a nutshell, and its a pleasure to meet everyone. :D

Hi everyone! My name is Greg and I'm 29 years old from MA. I found this site many months ago basically while searching for collector's list(s). Hello everyone,
My name is Steven and i live in Australia! (South Australia to be precise) I am 19 years old and was told about this site by one of your members, phreak97.
As for a job, I'am an apprentice electronics engineer at the Adelaide airport, I will also be trained to be an electrician!
I collect anything and everything SEGA and Nintendo. I have just started to collect tabletop systems and game & watches. I collect SEGA and Nintendo because that is what i was raised up playing and they simply have the best games of all time (except psx which has FF7).
My collection of NES games is my pride and joy, i think i have about 120 games now. I also have every common SEGA and Nintendo system, plus a psone that is soley to play my FF7 game.
Please note that i am ANTI X-BOX. My reason is that they are killing the console buisness and they ruined one of the best developers of all time, RARE.
I look foward to having my say in the forums and hearing what you guys have to say.

Hi all,
I'm a collector of primarily NES stuff. I have many fond memories of it and my Colecovision. I have more recently began collecting some of the newer Sega systems (Saturn and DC), but only when I can afford it. In real life, I'm a Software Engineer. I enjoy keeping up on the news and rare finds of the classic gaming community.

my name is ace and i live in the sunny state of michigan(when its not snowing like today)
i am 25 and im engaged to a beautiful woman named ellen.
i will be married in december and i have two dogs.
i collect just about everything under the sun. but my specialty is Ps2 and Nes 8 bit.
im always looking for something i dont have and never get the last of my nes collection done because im spending money on something else.
like sega?
i dont like sega and i dont collect sega until one day i get a boxed brand new sega 32x for 5 bucks. the guy was crazy. then i get a cdi boxed complete, a master system boxed complete, a sega cd like new boxed complete, and a sega nomad boxed complete.
i dont collect sega but have come across all of this near where i live which tells me that i must be the only true collector out there within 350 miles of my home. 350 becuase i live in the middle of michigan and thats how far it would be from the border to the border of canada(roughly)

Im always interested to hear if you know something about sony and their massive empire that ive yet to hear or if you think you have a label variation for a ps2 game, feel free to pm me and ask if i know about it.

Hello, I'm The Shawn. I live in Maine. I've been collecting die hard for about 5 years. But I was always into video games. Have always owned a system of some sort. Right now I'm up to about 31 Systems. When we went to buy a house we had to get a 3 Bedroom just for my video games.
I have also been a subscriber to Tip's N' Tricks for 5 years. And didn't know that it was affiliated with this website. Even though the first page I go to is the room of doom. I do Chef work and Bake for a living. Thanks

Hello, I'm Justin and I am a collector.
(hi, Justin)
I have been gaming for years, but I have been collecting for about 4 years. I don't heav the largest of collections, and i'm not really trying to get rare and hard to find things. The point of my 'museum' (as my friends call it) is to collect games people remember for nostalgia.
I have 29 different consoles and handhelds and juuuust shy of 500 games. Small indeed, but it's a fun collection that's steadilly growing.
Currently, however, I am working on getting Japanese and odd-ball stuff for the various systems. I came across NES Reproductions and am hoping to get some homebrew and promotional carts into the museum. If you have any suggestions of interesting classic games and homebrews feel free to let me know.
I hope I become a member that is well viewed by others. Thanks.

Hello, I am Adam, I live in Utah and I've heard about this place for a while from various classic gaming forums and I finally got around to signing up here. I collect primarily for Atari systems (2600-Jaguar) and I also do the same for arcades. I do enjoy playing games on other systems, classic or modern but Atari is my fave. I was into NUON back in it's brief day in the sun and I still enjoy getting the homebrew games for it.
For a living I train people on how to troubleshoot and fix computers. It's OK but I would much rather be running an arcade right now. In fact that is one thing I am trying to get started. But like anything else worthwhile, it takes money...quite a lot of it too. But I will get there one day. :)
For other hobbies I like to write, watch MST3k and post on video game related message boards. :)
Favorite TV show: Mystery Science Theater 3000
Favorite movie: TRON
I guess that's it!

04-08-2006, 02:03 PM
Hi, this is Tanda. I've playing video games ever since the early 2600 days. I've just discovered this community, and I think it's great to have so many retro gamers and collectors here.
I've been lucky that my parents and myself have kept all my systems through the years, and I have a nice collection going. My main interests are in the Neo Geo and Arcade cabs. I have a Neo 1 slot cab right here in my office (thank you wife) and I really dig the great mvs, jamma, and cps games of the past.
I really haven't fully made the transition to 3D gaming yet, though I did like the Dreamcast a lot, and look forward to the Nintendo Revolution (or whatever they end up calling it) Cheeers!

The Room of Doom's are currently down due to one of the RoD links circling about on the 'net, which eats up the bandwidth. I believe the current status update is that everyone is waiting for the link to work it's way out and then the RoD feature should come back online.
And to all on this page - welcome! :)

Hello.
Sometimes these forum intros seem a little pointless to me but here's mine:
I started playing videogames at about age 6 when my incredible parents bought us an Atari 2600. I fondly remember rushing home from school to play Space Invaders. I've been pretty much hooked ever since. I really miss all of the great arcade games I got to play as a kid in the 80's.
As a collector I'm focused mainly on the 2600 and the NES but I play games on many systems including some of the current consoles.
I have too many non-video game interests to list here but I work as an artist and high school art teacher in Cincinnati, OH, I should have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do in a few short months, and I scream a lot in a hardcore band called File and Claw.

I'll introduce myself the official way, then - as the few threads I started were linked to this one. Hi, my biggest passion is the Philips CD-i and I'm starting to discover more retro consoles these days. OK, I owned a NES and the SNES, but I never got a Sony console, stupid me (?). However, I really enjoy the CD-i and well, yeah, recommend you to look out for it!

Ok im going to use the original post from DP for my intro.
- My name is James
- I live in the wonderful state of South Carolina
- Was referred here by a good friend and (from what I understand) a heavy poster here. Name is Cmosfm. He is actually what inspired me to collect. I have always wanted to, always checked ebay auctions and bought at flea markets, but never got to "collecting" like I wanted to, until now.
- Favorite games : F-Zero, any Zelda, Halo 2, Sim City, CoolBoarders 2, Perfect Dark, GoldenEye
- Right now I am focusing on collecting SNES games. I would like to expand, and I will still buy stuff that I think is worth it, but my focus is SNES. I loved the system and now I want a good, possibly even complete collection.
- I work in the cell phone industry, and also like collecting older/awesome cell phones. I have had 29 different phones in less than 5 years. I get bored easily.
- Eh not many interesting facts really. Just like to hang out, work, do stuff with friends, the regular stuff.
My Collection so far:
3 x NES
1 SNES
1 GameCube
1 Xbox
1 Xbox 360
1 Sega Saturn
1 Dreamcast
1 Atari 5200 (pending...may be trading)
1 GameGear
1 Nintendo DS
Games:
10 or so NES (so many lost over the years)
25-30 SNES
3 Saturn
7-8 Xbox (none matter but Halo 2 to me)
4 Xbox 360
2 Gamecube
12-15 Dreamcast
1 GameGear
1 DS
7 5200
Small collection, but now steadily growing.
Well thats my intro. Thanks for looking.

- Was referred here by a good friend and (from what I understand) a heavy poster here. Name is Cmosfm. He is actually what inspired me to collect.
Cmosfm is a great member here, he and I always seem to be posting in the same threads.
Anyways James welcome to the boards!

Hi everyone, :)
I've been browsing the forums for about a week now and I decided to join. I grew up and have been gaming since the Atari and NES era. I was like alot of people who would be out with the old in with the new etc. ditching an old system for the new one. I currently own a PS2,XBOX, GameboySP and I aquired my Dreamcast back. recently though, I've been wanting to go back to the games and systems I grew up on.(sign of getting old?! X_x ) I am planning on tracking down a SNES and I'm also thinking about getting a N64 ( I never owned or played much of it either since I ended up buying a PS instead at the time)
Other interests of mine include, anime and collecting toys (action figures mainly) vintage and new. I'm building up my Shogun Warriors collection and also have some Micronauts as well. plus tons of other newer figures. :)
Anyways, I'm sure I will enjoy many great discussions and hope to contribute as well to the board. :)

How's it going. My name is John I'm 19. I live in Birmingham, AL. For my everyday occupation i install security systems. Aside from that i'm a combat engineer in the Marine Corps Reserves. I collect pretty much any video games. I don't really focus on any one system in particular. I would like to be able to complete my Neo-Geo Pocket Color collection though (just recently found a neo-geo pocket/dreamcast link cable). Some of my favorite games are SNK vs. Capcom: Cardfighters Clash, Grandia II, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Legend of Legaia, and Shenmue. At least those are the games that I am currently playing. If anyone is ever interested in selling any NGPC stuff let me know.
