Hello everyone, my name is Nigel and I live in New Zealand, and I am on ASSEMblergames and that's how I found this wonderful place!

My favourite games of all time are the SSX Series, I think that I'm the man at those games!

I am a mad collector of everything PS2 related, and my most recent addition to my ever growing collection was a DTL-T10000H, I also own a White Version 4, an Aqua Version 9, a Silver Version 10 and various other black versions 3-10!

I am a Senior Concrete Cutter for my daily job and amatuer PS2 programmer in my spare time!

Hello All,

I'm Zack! 28 year old dude from Dallas Texas. I currently own a PS3 and XBOX 360. I have an itch to play some classic games and build a collection up. Been gaming since 1987 when I got a NES. I like to play games and watch sports for fun.

My favorite console of all time is the Sega Genesis. My 2 favorite games were NHL 94' and RoboCop vs The Terminator.

My favorite games that I play current gen are All Pro Football and the Rainbox Six series.

I stumbled on this site looking for a review on a Gen-X and am glad I found it.

Happy Gaming!

Hello all! I'm John from Cincinnati, OH and I'm 20 years old.

I'm currently a student of business information systems (business application programming/computer programming on the business side). For my hobbies, I enjoy playing retro video games, making some amateur artwork, and making simple little web pages with my free time. I have a website which is pretty small right now located here (http://www.mrmollman.com) if you're interested. I also like to read computer programming topics and explore the world of open source software. I have a big interest in Linux and the various distributions (preferably Debian).

Other interests of mine include electronics and microprocessors (I just like to pass time by researching the hardware used in the classic consoles and arcade cabinets and whatnot).

Gaming caught my attention in 1997 when I saw my cousin playing Goldeneye 007 for the N64. After being jealous and wanting my own modern console, I asked for the PlayStation for Christmas later that year. I started hard-core gaming on the PlayStation with the classic Squaresoft titles up until the PS2. Once the PS2 made its release I started to lose interest in the newer consoles. After a few years, I gave the classic 16-bit consoles a try again and haven't put them down since. I've always been more interested in the 16-bit generation of gaming more than any other generation. My family originally had a SNES through the years so I started with that. A few years back, I decided to pick up a Genesis (model 1) and a NES at a local store used (in pretty damn good condition too). I even purchased some of the good classics like Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy I, and Ultima for pretty darn cheap.

So that is me, and even through the hard studies of college and a part-time job in a restaurant, I still manage to fit in lots of time for classics such as Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III, and Super Metroid on my Super Nintendo, and Phantasy Star II and IV, and the Sonic series on my Genesis, all while searching Amazon from time to time for older classics to fill my closet with. Maybe one day I'll have a collection like the others have in the galleries on this site. :D

Hello everyone, my name is Brett! \m/ I hail from Wisconsin, love metal, and have always been stuck on video games! I tour with bands doing such jobs as tour managing and selling merch plus much more! I like a wide variety of games(except sports), and I find myself playing games that most would consider nerdy. I like to collect weird promotional video game items, demos, etc. Not much more to tell you at the moment, but thanks for letting me into your community!! Any questions, please feel free to ask!

Hello all. In my spare time, I make (poorly done) animation episodes about obscure retro video game concepts. Not really a popular style, but hey it is fun to me and it makes me laugh so that's good enough for me.

You can find a link to my youtube videos in my sig. Please do check them out.

I have always been a huge fan of Final Fight for the SNES and to create animations about Mike Haggar keeps me entertained for hours on end.

I can't really get into all the new games and stuff they make these days. I would still rather crank up the old 8 bit consoles. (After a few smacks they always start working)

My name is Zoran, i found the forums because of the digital press store, which i found by surfing the interwebs :D
My favorite games would have to be mainly dreamcast games like sonic adventure 1 & 2, skys of arcadia, pso, shenmue, but a pretty obscure game that i love is for the genisis called Two Crude Dudes :D
I collect for nes,snes,n64,genesis,dreamcast, and im hoping to get some more :D.
In rl i still go to school :p I started collecting a few years ago, when i bought an n64 from a friend and a few games (i already had a genesis then) He gave me a few titles i knew like Yoshis island, Banjo Kazooie, Super Smash Bros etc... But the first game i decided to play was one i never heard of, superman 64. i popped that game in and had one of the hardest challenges ever, the game was awful, it did not make sense in the least bit, but i still felt like i NEEDED to play it. I played it for a week practicing and practicing but could not beat it, then i tried the other games which made me so happy considering they werent shit like superman. So from then on out i felt like i had to keep playing these amazing games :D

Hey, guys. Ah... well, the name's Chris. I don't have a huge game collection, and most of what I own are RPGs, but since those are all I really have the patience for, it's not such a big loss.

Hello, my name is Dominick. I'm a 22 year old male from Blackwood NJ. I've been using Digital Press from collection and rarity guides for a few years now, so I finally decided to join the forums.

I've been collecting for about 4 years now. My collection contains about 1100 games at the moment. I collect for just about anything, but I mainly focus on PS1 and NES/Famicom games, as they are my favorites.

I play games from nearly any genre and generation. Some of my favorite games include Resident Evil 2, MGS3, Doom, and Castlevania 3.

I'm the Editor-in-Chief of a small but enduring publication known as Digital Press, which is a hybrid of many different forms of media that caters to the gaming elite - those who love the classics. We started in 1992 and have done several books, over fifty periodicals, a ColecoVision game (Ms. Space Fury) and a music CD (courtesy Tony Fox NYC).

Mr. Chinese Gold Farmer Spammer, you might find your spamming tactic of copying and pasting the second or third post in a topic a little more successful if you could read English and realize that you're claiming to be the creator of this site, haha.

Hi everyone! My name is John, I am 30 and live in Tulsa, OK.

I found Digital Press one night when I was looking for online rarity guides, an well, came across the mother of rarity guides. I started collecting classic games roughly a year ago, and started out of the blue. Finding the 12 NES games stored in an old box put me back to the golden times of gaming for me really. I started thinking to myself just how frustrated I was with current games like Modern Warfare. Trying to play online was a test of patience and a lesson in frustration. So I turned off the modern consoles, and started digging out the older systems and found myself enjoying every second I had the chance to play something from my childhood!

Collecting has become a huge passion for me now. I am always browsing ebay, and sorting through so many inflated and ridiculous prices to find that one shining good deal! But my collection is prospering, and on the NES I am coming up to 100 titles now. Only 700 more to go! LOL

Howdy. Love the color scheme here. Got about 14 systems from "TV-3" to PS2 and about 95 games for them. As a testament to my nerdness I'm a staff member here (http://www.linnavaanijat.com/en).

I've been pretty serious about collecting games of certain series (most of them from Konami), but recently I've spend more time and money on increasing the collection as a whole and now I'm serious about all retro collecting.

I guess that is how I stumbled upon here. That and I was googling on information about game cart and box artists (which didn't really get me anywhere).

Hi guys!

I'm Matt, I live in Portland, OR. Been playing console games since the tender age of 5 in 1990, and possibly arcade games slightly before that. Found this site while Googling for vintage game discussion and have lurked for a while, but now I've joined.

Got a pretty nice collection of 8/16 bit games, with a few PS1/PS3 games thrown in. I don't play like I used to, and sometimes I can't find the motivation to do so. It seems easier with a friend, and luckily my best friend of 21 years still is decently heavy into games, so that helps.

Hope to contribute worthiness to the site!

I mainly collect games I'll actually play as opposed to a general hoarding of items. Reacquiring my Dreamcast, Saturn, 32x and SegaCD collections is top priority but I'm also working on my obscure XBox hardware bits as well as a slowly growing Playstation collection.

I also have an aquarium as well as four guinea pigs.

Who you are

As a twenty-eight-year old, I've been a longtime gamer. I got into videogames when I was about five or six years old through the NES. I grew up playing mostly console and arcade games, with less frequent but still substantial play times on the PC. As a result, I grew up to respect developers from Japan, since they dominated both the console and arcade space in the 90's. I really haven't stopped playing at all, with only my arcade gaming time being far less frequent than it once was.

Where you live

Currently in Austin, Texas. However, the nature of my career means I'll likely move again.

How you found the forums

I was googling on what the best TV to play older consoles is, one I could use for the NES, SNES, N64, etc. One of the links was to this thread (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=62521). I decided to register after that, since this community seemed to be both large and passionate about games.

What your favorite games are

My favorite franchise of all time is the Metal Gear Solid series, with MGS1 and MGS3 as my absolute favorites, but all four main ones occupying the top of my list. The series has everything I enjoy about playing games. Its focus on the single-player experience. Its attention to detail in every element of the game. The nature of its mechanics encourages different styles of play and multiple playthroughs. The story and characters matter. It has tons of surprises and rewards for players willing to explore everything the game has to offer. It has plenty of humor, and has the enviable quality of breaking the fourth wall without lessening the impact of its setting and story. Etcetera.

From there, the list is an ever-growing mess. A few examples, in no particular order:

- Okami
- Duke Nukem 3D
- Shadow of the Ninja
- Phoenix Wright: Trials & Tribulations
- Final Fantasy X
- Super Street Fighter IV
- Mortal Kombat II
- Shenmue
- X-Men: Children of the Atom
- Fallout 3
- Mass Effect
- God of War
- Ninja Gaiden (new series over original)
- Demon's Souls
- Red Dead Redemption
- Metroid Prime
- Resident Evil 4
- Eternal Darkness
- Bushido Blade
- Doom
- Bayonetta
- The Dig
- Mega Man series (X series slightly edging original)
- Beyond Good & Evil
- Perfect Dark
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- Marvel vs Capcom
- The Adventures of Batman & Robin (SNES version)
- Donkey Kong Country Returns
- Super Mario Galaxy
- Super Mario World
- Street Fighter Alpha 3
- F-Zero
- Final Fight
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time
- Killer Instinct
- Hotel Dusk: Room 215
- Mega Man Legends
- Double Dragon series
- Capcom-made Disney platformers in the NES

And tons, tons, tons others...

What systems you collect for

I collect for most of the systems I own:
- NES
- SNES
- Saturn
- PlayStation
- N64
- Dreamcast
- PlayStation 2
- Xbox
- GameCube
- Wii
- Xbox 360
- PlayStation 3

I also own several handheld systems and a PC, but I'm more picky about what I buy for those, since the majority of my gaming time is spent on consoles.

What you do in "real life"

I'm a game designer. I've been one in the industry for about three or four years. I hate the lack of job security in the industry, but I love my job when I get to do it.

Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc.

I imagine that to some people's standards, I'm not a collector. My goal isn't to collect every game of every genre or franchise. I mostly buy games that I want to play but don't own. The most I've spent in a game has been about ~$170 on eBay for a near-mint copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga. When it comes to older games, I'll buy games that I really enjoyed as a kid but never owned, or games I've always wanted to play but never did.

At one point, during the PlayStation/N64 era, my mom gave away my NES and its fourty or so games. I hadn't played the NES in years, so my mom figured to give them away. Later, when I got nostalgic and went looking for my games, I freaked out when I learned they were gone. My mom knew the person she gave them away to, so I had to make a deal. I gave away my Genesis and games to get my NES and games back. While I don't regret making the trade, as I had more games and memories with the NES, it still sucked in the long run. I bought a used Genesis years later at GameStop to try and rebuild my collection, but I gave up after one game.

I'm Cloche hat, and as well as a stylish piece of headwear, I am also a twenty-nine year old male from the UK, where I still live - the Lake District in northwest England to be exact. Currently I'm a wage slave in a supermarket, but I'm due to start university soon, making preparations for starting a history degree.

After searching for info on collecting old Famicom games, and those beautiful, coloured carts, I found this place and decided to register. This is what I am collecting, as well as old Super Famicom, Mega-CD, PlayStation 1, and PlayStation 2 games.

As you can tell by my avatar, I am a fan of Kiki Kai Kai.

Hello, I'm one of Rolf&Nei; found this site through a vague game search, but decided to join due to its activity and general decency (though I fear I've already budded a reputation for myself as a gadfly). A low-tech gamer, I hate the current feel in games; PS1 is really where I top out. Favourite systems: NES, Genesis, PS1. Half retro, half emulator, the toughest game I've beaten in hard copy would be either Bayou Billy (NES) or Goldeneye (N64) with every damned useless bonus got; the coolest game discovered through emulation, Growlanser (PS1). Wish I had the cash to collect, especially the cartridge era games and their fragile covers. Thanks for a good site.

SpaceFlea
04-18-2011, 07:30 PM
It's me, SpaceFlea, as you can clearly see. I typically spend my time at Sega-16, but since it's down at the moment I must dabble elsewhere and I've planned to join here for some time - perfect.

I'm a collector first and gamer a distant second. Primarily because I no longer possess an attention span of any length, let alone one long enough to keep me engaged in a game. But I also spend most of my free time purchasing more games for and cataloging my modestly gigantic collection (as of this post 3599 games - the wall pictured in my avatar is just 1500 of them).

When it comes to collecting I do not discriminate. I collect every game for every system - no kidding. I also do what most do not, I collect for both quality and quantity. And I would gladly spend my time and money elsewhere, but at the moment it's all I have - it's my baby.

I plan to put up a video once I finish my game room. The games have been boxed up for the past four years and I'm really excited to finally get the chance to display them properly.

I started out normal enough, just collecting the games for my Sega consoles that I had wanted since I was a kid. But my OCD got the better of me and turned me into a collecting monster - something I never intended and don't really like.

That's me in a nutshell! :P

Hey, everyone. QuickSciFi here, along with the sega-16 wave. Hope to make this a long-standing relationship. It's very nice seeing many of the same fa... avatars from sega-16.

About Me:
A hardcore Sega Genesis collector, I hope to one day finish-up with the ~712 U.S. NTSC titles in Mint CIB form, and then move on to the butter title exclussives from other regions. Besides the Genny/CD/32X, I also extend my love to every other console (retro and new alike). For every Genesis/CD/32X game I add to my collection, I've vowed to add another title for a different console so as to maintain balance as a gamer.

P.S.> SpaceFlea, can't wait to see that vid of yours. :D

Hello, my name is Brendan, and I live in Auburn, MA. I found these forums in a helpful guide I came across aimed at beginning collectors. My favorite games tend to be pretty simple, like Wizard of Wor, Outrun, or Tetris. I generally prefer racers and shmups. I collect for pretty much every system I can get my hands on up to the Dreamcast era. My favorite systems are the Commodore 64, NES, and SNES. I'm a student currently, but in the past I worked for a collectibles store which allowed me to get my hands on a ton of weird and awesome video game stuff. What I like most about collecting is the hunt: knowing that I might come across something awesome every time I check out a new store or post online motivates me to keep going :)

Greetings all
Name is Chris. Followed the flow of refugees from Sega-16. Inclinded to stick around . I graduated from UW-Whitewater with a degree in music (minor in Philosophy...so I'm qualified to write and critique rock/pop songs :p). Anyway, I've been spending my last 10 years combining my love of video games and music, writing music for internet browser games. Due to recent developments I may be on the verge of doing this within the industry proper (wish me luck :D).
As for my collection, while I'm primarily a Sega fan (I love my Genesis/Sega CD/32X stack), my collecting is generally platform agnostic ranging from my 30 year old 2600 to my PS3, and most of the major platform releases inbetween...even PC games ;)

Somehow missed this thread when I was first looking at the forums. Like the others above, I generally hang out at Sega-16. Whilst I was trying to figure out what was going on, I found some of the other members were setting up camp over here :D

At any rate, my name's Robert and although I grew up around kids with game systems (NES, SNES, Genesis), I've only started getting into gaming within the past few years. During my youth, my cousins were rocking their Nintendos and Segas, while I had...an Intellivision. With about 4 games...Yay (though Burger Time rocked :D ).
After the Intellivision died, I didn't pick up a controller again until I purchased a broken Xbox 360. Now, I know it is not anywhere near vintage, but it reintroduced me to games again and prepared me for the opportunities that would be presented to during Summer '09.

You see, during the city-wide garage sale week, I decided to see what I could find. I wasn't looking for anything too specific, and I certainly wasn't looking for games. But then I saw it- an ugly, yellowed Super Nintendo in a free box. That changed everything. I took it, a $3 Genesis, and a 50 cent n64 cartridge (Super Smash Bros). By the end of the day, I also had a PS1 and a N64.

I have amassed quite a bit more since then and have most of it hooked up to my humble (if overwhelmed) CRT television. I initially had a fairly small entertainment center, but later upgraded to one with more shelves. This also proved to be insufficient, so I have since added a couple more shelves to make room for a total of 24 devices (a DVD/VHS player, a TIVO, and the rest are game systems).

Most of these are hooked up and ready to go, though I need to get the switchbox situation ironed out, lol.

Anyways, nice meeting you all.

Hey everyone,
My name is Garry! I live in Ireland and I'm currently going to college (again), 1 year nearly down already.
I ended up here after trying to browse the Sega 16 site, so decided to join up.
I'm mostly a Sega fan, working my way towards a complete pal collection. My first games system was a C64 tho, so I will always have a soft spot for that beautiful beige beast. Though I pretty much have every major system going with a smattering of games for each.
I also update my blog with random videogame stuff from around my house, when I get time that is. Hopefully when exams are over and the summer kicks in I will post more frequently.
Glad to be here, hope to run into everyone soon

Welcome to all the Sega-16 members. I hope you guys plan on sticking around after Sega-16 goes back online. We could sure use a few more Sega lovers in the house!

I put it off and put it off, I think I may be the last from Sega 16 cause I waited so long. Anywho-I have been coming here for years to read the reviews. I am a Genesis lover at heart, but started gaming with the Atari 2600 probably around 2 or 3. It's not hooked up at the moment, but I probably have more games for it than my Sega.

So anyway glad to be here!

Hey guys, I've also sloughed off of Sega-16. I'm a Sega fan, of course, but I have about every game system since the Atari 2600. I really enjoy reading game reviews, technical discussions, and researching hacks and fixes for game consoles. I find the retro gaming stuff really enjoyable, overall...

I've read plenty of threads from the site, and I'm glad to finally be a member. Thanks for welcoming us!

Hi guys,

I suppose you can call me starvingstudent. Which is a pretty adequate description of myself. I have modest collection of SNES and PS1 games. I suppose I typically just pick up what has been recommended to me by others or what simply seems interesting.

I recently picked up a Magnavox Odyssey 2 from a textbook Hoarder in west Cleveland. It was a neat find. Killer Bees! and K.C.'s Krazy Chase are some fun games. Also in the bundle was "Demon Attack," which turned out to be a pretty rare game, which was nice.

I don't have a lot of space, so what I don't enjoy, I typically sell. Which, in all honesty fits me better, I think. I get to see some neat games and the hobby sort of pays for itself.

Looking forward to posting.

I'm sort of from Sega-16, as I tried to access their reviews section and got redirected here, and I figure now's as good a time as any to join a new forum. I have an NES, N64, and PS2 in a closet somewhere, but hooked up to my TV permanently are my Sega Genesis + CD attachment and SNES. It's all about the 16 bit generation for me, and I enjoy them both equally.

WOW, nice to see some of you fellow Sega-16 forum members join me over at this wonderful place called Digital Press. WELCOME!

It's amazing how many people migrated here.

Hope to see some of you stay even when Sega-16 is back online. There is always room for another forum in your bookmarks.

And yes, more Sega lovers is what this place really needs. :vamp:

I am Flacko the Weasel. (Sometimes I've been in a forums as Flacko, Flacko the Weasel, FlackoW, Flacko The Nutty Drawing Weasel) My real name is Merlyn Kotljar.

I am female drawing fanatic. I've drawn since 4 years old, ofc those at that age were rubbish, but from 7 years I started to get better. I watched every morning before school cartoons, mostly from Cartoon network or Tv3 or Nickelodeon. I absolutely loved those cartoons like: Cow and Chicken, Rocko's Modern life, Ren and Stimpy, Ghostbusters, Digimon. Then I started to draw things off the TV. When I got the hang of it, then I started to draw on my own. Ofcourse a big help was that Sonic books I made for a hobby. I was a huge Sonic fan back then. Played Sega Genesis all the time and wrote stories off them. Their very silly lol. But I drew on every page some picture and I can see that I got better book by book. Ofcourse nowadays I don't have that inspiration to write, as I have no ideas. I wish I could.

Some of my works you can see here: http://flacko.mikk36.eu/index.php
This is my portfolio of all drawings I have done for people for free. I havent asked any money from them because I want to be nice and that also helps me to get better in drawing.

My youtube where I show some Flash tuts and my animation tests: http://www.youtube.com/user/FlackoWeasel

And some tutorials where I teach people how to draw: http://flackoweasel.blogspot.com/p/opetusflashid.html

I am also a gamer, I love videogames and it's a great hobby. I'm collecting games and mercandise, my wish is to own all gaming consoles if possible. I also am collecting plushies of my favourite characters.

Animation is also 1 main thing I enjoy, I don't get tired of it and it's a big influence for me to carry on drawing and learning. Thanks to the Disney and other sweet cartoons I learned to draw and got interested in drawing. That's why I try to collect newest DVDs of animation and try to get every Disney, Pixar,Dreamworks, Blue Sky and so on animations to show my passion and respect and love for them. If people make enjoyable cartoons,I buy them and show to others who need to see them.

My name is Mr Smith. I am another of the Sega-16 displaced and it was all about the Mega Drive (until I got a PS2 and then real life got in the way) and 2001 a few friends and I started playing Mega Drive tournaments. These competitions continue today and have spread across five different nations and include an annual bout of elite European members coming together to represent their nations in the European Mega Drive Championship. I might well try to plug the contests here to increase the scope of our tournaments Mega Drive Championship Home Page (http://www.megadrivechamps.org).

Other than that, I am a law student, with an ever expanding ego and am on the prowl for my first person to sue. Who knows, you might be the lucky one!

I love the Pac-Man style things beneath everybody's user name and cannot wait to earn me a cherry, although how I am not sure.

I am uncertain how my post count number is also one being my actual post count. My first post was post '0', second read post '1'. Nevermind.

Hi guys, synbiosfan aka Jim here. Sega-16 is one of the many forums I belong to but a racketboy thread led me here. I enjoy games on pretty much every system but one look at my collection shows a bias towards Sega.

A look for anyone interested.

Sup guys, my names Andrew and I'm a pretty average videogame collector. I don't mainly collect for any system (though the SNES will always be my favourite), I just buy different consoles and dabble in some of the different games available on there to see what they're like. At the moment my collection stands at; a SNES, an N64, a Dreamcast, a Gameboy Colour, a Gameboy Advance (and the more modern ones) a Gamecube, an Xbox original and a Playstation 2.

Hey Guys,

My name is Corey and I am the editor over at the gaming website GameBlurb.net. I recently was informed about the Retrogaming Roundtable and I am really enjoying your discussions. So here is a little about myself. I have been gaming since I was 6 (I am now 31, yack) and have owned many systems throughout my life. I have always been passionate about games and find retro gaming to be the most enjoyable. Which is kind of ironic since I am a 3D artist by training...there is just something about a well drawn sprite based game that will always destroy the likes of Crysis 2 and Killzone 3 in my book.

Consoles Owned: NES, Genesis, Mega CD (import), Super NES, TurboGrafx-16, TurboGrafx-16 CD, Saturn, PlayStation (import), Nintendo 64 (import) Neo Geo, Lynx, Game Gear, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advanced (with backlight mod), Nintendo DS

Consoles I Still Own: GameCube, Wii, Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Virtual Boy, Nintendo DS Lite, Nintendo 3DS, TurboExpress, Xbox, Xbox 360

Jay, florida. I found the forums while trying to find out information about the original Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition. I want to know what "type" PS2 box this came in. Anybody know? Favorite games: Metal Gear series. REal life? Right now. Unemployed.

I enjoy collecting PS2 games. I've been out of the loop for a good 4 years. I'm back into it all and i'm playing "catch up" starting with ps2 games and moving forward. Its nice because I can get everything discounted and used!

Anyhow, its nice to see some people like me on this forum. If you own the Devil May Cry: Anniversary Collection please let me know!!! I need to complete my collection! I need to know what "type" of box it came with!

Nickname's Cmo which is derived from my real name. I used to be fairly active on here 7-8 years ago and then got out of collecting and what not. I wish I could remember my original username, but for the life of me cannot. I know this profile was created back in 2007, I just haven't been back into gaming really at all since then, until now anyways. My current girlfriend and at some point wife is way into gaming and dragging me back into it ;). So I have been showing here the DP greatness and reading all this again is making that collecting feeling spark again. I have missed the community and the feeling when I'm on these boards. We haven't gotten quite back into full scale collecting yet, but I am saving whatever orphans, gaming merchandise, misc items I can from the corporate file at the small video game store I work for.

Hello. My name is Mike, and I'm from Maryland. I found this site years ago; I can't precisely remember how I came to find it, but I didn't register until Sega-16 went down.

I mainly collect and play NES and Genesis games, but I also have an Atari 2600, SNES, Dreamcast and PS2. Some of my favorite games are Mega Man 2, SMB 1-3 & SMBj, Castlevania: Bloodlines, Contra: Hard Corps, TMNT: Hyperstone Heist, Splatterhouse 1-3, Metal Gear Solid 1-3, Portal 1 & 2, Counterstrike: Source, The Command & Conquer Series, etc, etc.

I've been playing video games since I was 4 and got an NES. I've established a nice collection since then. I hope to have fun and stay here for a long time.

Greetings folks.

Now that I'm done fighting with the registration process, I guess I should post here.

I've been around OverClocked Remix for almost nine years now, Sega-16 for nearly two, and I contribute reviews to the latter. I remix a bit here and there, make animated gifs, and am currently working on a trilogy of novels. I also write original music, short stories, create illustrations, and do various other things. I'm still rocking my 20-plus year old Sega Genesis, and I'm trying to catch up on some the old DOS games I missed out on by not having a PC until 2001.

Aaaaaand... that's about it I guess. See you around the boards.

Hi all! I'm fairly new to the collecting scene. What's always held me back is the fact that a lot of stuff is kinda pricey and I don't have a lot of money to spend on gaming (those pesky student loans keep getting in the way). Recently, I've noticed that prices on old games have been going down, so I figured now would be a good time to jump in after playing mainly on emulators. I have a particular fondness for the pre-NES era as well as the more obscure systems that didn't do too well (like the TurboGrafX 16 or the Virtual Boy). Sadly, it seems that the less well the system did, the more money people charge on Ebay, making it hard on the folks like me who just want to play the games. Oh well.

I'm Mike and I'm from NY. I just recently got into collecting games for retro systems and I've been hooked ever since. I found this site through sega-16 and I signed up after that site went down. I'm really into all SEGA consoles, but I have slowly come to enjoy what the NES and SNES have to offer. I am also getting into the import scene for the Genesis, SFC and N64.
This site is really awesome and I hope everyone enjoys my future contributions to posts and whatnot.

Hey all. Name's Anthony and from Philly. Grew up in the '80s and '90s, had a lot of the systems around at the times: NES, Game Boy, SNES, Sega, N64, PSX, PS2. Whatever I could afford. For various reasons most of those systems are gone now. Some just stopped working and some got misplaces as I've moved a couple times.

I did fall out of gaming for a bit, and only held onto my PS2 and N64, however recently I've gotten back into it. A friend of mine had an extra NES and let me take it. And I've been playing some emulators online for systems I don't have at the moment but may be grabbing eventually. I was looking up info on another site about unreleased NES games, and it led me to here.

Hello!

My name is Kenny (aka darkrpger on the boards) and I'm from south jersey.

Growing up, I played lots of Zaxxon, Donkey Kong, Dragon's Lair, Galaga, Dig-Dug, etc. in the arcades. The 1st console I had that I did any serious playing on was the 2600. I played from then right up until around the arrival of the NES & Super Mario Bros.
At that point in my life, bad decisions,, unsavory friends, a bad sense of priorities & what was really important, and a mis-spent youth drew me away from gaming.

Never being the quickest when it came to learning from my own mistakes, by the time I re-introduced myself to gaming, it was just about the time the ps2 launched.

Anyhow, from then until just recently, I pretty much was just playing/collecting games for my own personal enjoyment & pleasure. I'm a big RPG & SRPG addict.
The only consoles that I own & am familiar with are the ps1, ps2, & ps3.

A couple of years ago, after a botched surgery repairing a blood-clot in my left arm, I lost my left hand & wrist to an amputation.
Now, having only 1 hand to play with - I'm pretty much restricted to RPG's & SRPG's...good thing that they're my favorites.

Getting bored and having too much time on my...umm...hand - I decided to give more serious collecting & buying, selling, and trading games on-line, and some 'investment' gaming a try. I've yet to sell anything on-line, but I've spent the last few weeks putting together a rather decent (imho) inventory to start with.
I actually came across this site as I was ordering the Advanced collection book.
Since it's what I know, for now at least, I'm strictly interested in dealing w/ ps1, ps2, & ps3 games.
I recently stumbled upon a store that still has a good amount of decent ps1 games for sale that are still new/sealed. Slowly but surely, I've been buying him out :)

I'm sure that I'll be coming around a lot for help, tips, questions, and info-so I'll thank you in advance for any help.

I would also appreciate any help, tips, suggestions, and ideas from some of you more experienced sellers, traders, and collectors to someone pretty much just starting out in it.

Thanks-

- I am Bil McGee
- I live in South Western CT
- I was just browsing some classic games sites when I found Digital Press
- Tough to pick favorites, but I can play RBI Baseball anytime. I mostly play 360 now, but when I dip into my collection, it's usually NES, Genesis, Sega CD
- I collect NES, SNES, Genesis, 32X, Sega CD, Dreamcast, N64, and 2600 right now.
- I was a manager of a major electronics retailer, but I recently left to pursue better things.
- I began collecting because of my best friend, Rodrigo. He never traded in games because he said he would rather keep them than get next to nothing in trade in value. I started doing the same, and the collection started growing.

Hi, my name is Kyle

I just recently started seriously collecting video games. My main focus right now is acquiring original release CIB titles for systems that I already own, NES & SNES being the most prevalent. I've been getting a bunch of the systems I missed out on while growing up, like the N64 (I was on the playstation side) and the sega genesis, which is my most recent. The AVGN was right, there are far too many ridiculous cords for the 32x. Castlevania is my thing and I have nearly all of them, (yes even Dracula X which isn't that bad). I am most proud of the fact that I do not own any greatest hits/player's choice/classic series variations [aside from Punchout!! & Metroid where I own both]. Honestly I'd really like some help getting a mod for my genesis.
