Hey, I'm Mike Ciletti. That name might sound slightly familiar to some small subset of people here. I stumbled across this site looking for people related to the short-lived EG fandom that burst out in the 1990s.
I can't get away from "classic" gaming. I have PREY in the 360, all shiny and new, but I still keep grabbing for the DS with Yoshi's Island and the GBA Phantasy Star Collection! All the graphics processors in the world can't improve on a great game concept.

Hey everyone,
I'm (obviously) new to the boards. I just wanted to introduce myself before I start imposing my questions on everyone.
I'm what I like to call a "Nintendo Baby". My first video gaming experience was on the original NES with Super Mario Bros. I've been an avid gamer ever since.
I just recently started collecting video games and I'm looking to expand my knowledge (and collection) mostly in the Nintendo areas.

Hi all, my name is Chad and I have been a gamer since I can remember. I don't know much about the Brady bunch, but I could destroy my babysitter in Kaboom. Went from Atari to playstation II today owning most of the systems. I am not REALLY a collector but I just want games that I will enjoy and that are fun to play.
Outside of gaming I am a CPA who likes to work out, and jog (actually finished a marathon) in my free time.
I live in Boston so if anyone is local feel free to say hi.
That is all, off to the boards!

Hello. I found this site after seeing somebodies room of doom on another website, and had to find out where this place was; eventually I found digitalpress. I'd list my favorite games, but that would take up half of the page. I am collecting for the NES and Genesis but I buy stuff for pretty much every system I own. I am located in Ottawa Ontario. I prefer to pick up stuff locally, but can't pass up on an awesome deal regardless of where it is.

Hey this is Greg, my friend Rob and I do a weekly podcast, full of comedy bits, sarcasm and some local music. Since we've played every system since the 2600 (except PS2), we often interject video game discussions into our bits. Granted most of it is in a tongue in cheek comedic format. Please check it out!

PS: I went over to you location a few times when it was Outer Limits, had no idea there was something different. Look forward to check it out soon.

Hello, My name is Jordan. I live in Carthage, MO and work in the technical department for the local municipal utility. I found out about Digital Press at OKGE a few years back. I have been a member for a while now, but have not been very active but now that I am done with college hopefully I will have more time to "chill" on here. My collection contains a little bit of everything, from an odyssey 200 to playstation 2. I am finally starting to narrow down to all things NES. I have a complete Virtual Boy collection, and am wanting to get a NES m82. My favorite games are SNES-era RPG's such as Chrono Trigger and Legend Of Zelda: Link To The Past. My favorite series is The Monkey Island Series from LucasArts, I have been a huge fan of these adventure style games since I was a child. If you would like to know anything else about me, just drop me a PM.

Hey Everyone,
I just came across Digital Press yesterday - looks great so far... I must admit I'm a retro gamer for life! As a youngster on Christmas morning my brother and I opened the biggest box of all only to behold our very own Atari 2600 - I popped in Frogger and it was all over. I currently own Sega Genesis, Playstation, Playstation 2 and of course PC games. A few years ago I sold my third NES and all my 130 or so games - I've regretted it ever since. I am planning on picking up that re-tooled third party NES the Generation NEX and will now be attempting to replace many of my complete NES games I owned - so any help would be appreciated! My fav systems are Colecovision and NES followed by Genesis and SNES. I'm into Sidescrollers, SHMUPS, and RPGs.

hello everyone.
Im Gabe,Im 16 and I live in clifton NJ.
I found out about this website when I went to the DP store.(its 4 blocks from my house.)
I dont really collect anything, but I am a huge fan of arcade cabinets. the DP store got a "scramble" cabenit, created by konami in the early 80's. I think its great that the store got it because it next to some more recent cabenits, and that sorta symbolizes what DP is all about, both old an new games.
as for what I do Im curently working a summer job at the DP store. after the summer I gotta find a new job. :(

- Who you are
Brandon Staggs... Known also as "Obliterator" back in the day (NoCal C64 BBS scene).
- Where you live
Oklahoma, USA.
- How you found the forums
Rob Ohara pointed me here. I met him at OVGE 2006.
- What your favorite games are
Impossible to really answer. Some of my favorites over time: Pac-Man, Q-Bert, Raid Over Bungling Bay, the original Sim City, Ultima 4 (C64 version)...
- What systems you collect for
C64, Sega Genesis.
- What you do in "real life"
Program and sell Bible study software.
- Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc.
I collected hundreds of games when I was a kid. Those are all gone. Now my collecting consists mainly of picking up old Commodore equipment when I find a decent deal, and finding good Sega Genesis games. My collection is based mainly on sentimental value, not something I do to be a completist or for eventual sale. One of my favorite games I have collected for the Sega Genesis is Pirates! Gold, which is still fun to play to this day.

Hi,
my name is Axel Pfaender, I live in Berlin, Germany.
I work as a graphic designer, actually i run my own design company with a couple of friends.
I started computing and gaming on a Commodore128, later Atari ST. Right now I don't own any video gaming system.
I work as an illustrator for German Game Magazine "GEE".
The games i love most are Donkey Kong and Super Mario Land (a rather common opinion I guess).
I guess that's all for now.

I just realised that I never posted an intro in here. Anyway...
I've been into gaming for many years now. I have always been a big fan of arcade and console video games. My first system was Atari VCS and my newest is Playstation 2. I have accumulated many others along the way. The systems that I play the most these days are probably ColecoVision, NES, and Sega Master System.
I have come to this site for years, but have just joined the forums recently. I often post on AtariAge as well, and I am a contributor to MobyGames. That's about it... :)

Well, as you can see, I am .Goomba24. I live in the southern USA, so I may use "ain't" occasionally. Other than that, I found this place by always using the Digitpress rarity guide to check my games. I love collecting older games from the Intellivision to the PS1. I am a huge Nintendo fan with a wide sense of humor. I look foward to this place. Some of you may know me from Nintendo Nsider.

Hi, I am new to the forum, however, I have been checking out the online rarity guide for the past few weeks. I collect NES games as well as SNES RPG's. Anything else I come across for cheap generally gets sold on E-bay (unless it's Mario or Yoshi. My wife's a fan :)) so I can buy more of what I collect.

Dumsday
09-13-2006, 06:32 PM
Hi All. I'm a long time lurker on DP....I actually did try registering once but something didn't work.
- Who are you? - Chris aka Dumsday
- Where you live? - Vancouver, BC
- How you found the forums? - Man, it was at least a couple years ago. Maybe 3. I think there was a link on another discussion board.
- Favourite games? - Tough. The answer was always Super Mario Bros. 3 until 2 years ago when I played Mario 64. Yes, I first played it 2 years ago...I was in university during the N64/PSX era so I didn't have the time or money for games. I'm probably one of the few who played it after beating Super Mario Sunshine. Been really into the arcade compilations for the consoles. Right now I'm playing Guitar Hero, FF II (the one on FF Origins for the PSX), Shadow of the Colossus.
- What systems do you collect for? - Well, I buy games that I want to play. I have a list of all the games I want to play for ALL consoles and I'm working on those. I still need to get a 2600, TG-16, Dreamcast and some of the less popular consoles like Jag and 3DO (though there are not many games on my list for those machines). Not a PC gamer at all, but I just started playing the C&C 10th Anniversary set and Starcraft since I had never played an RTS.
- What do you do in real life? - Well, I suppose I can't go into detail but I'm a Development Director at a videogame company. Part of the reason I didn't try joining DP for so long was that I was unsure of the rules around an employee posting. I recently just had my 17th game approved by 1st party. Also...I started as a tester many years ago.
- Interesting facts...hmmm. I had to TwinGalaxies world record on Lock'n'Chase for the Intellivision for a couple years. Until my record wa smashed. Oh well.
I probably won't post much....but it's nice being able to once in a while! :-)

The names Martin, am from Australia
Ive known of digi press for a long time and had a few guides, thought i'd join the forum as i can relate to the threads easily.
Better off saying what i dont collect for, list would be shorter:
Snes
Megadrive
5200
CDi
Ive gathered a huge collection of games over the years, biggest would be either the 2600 or the saturn followed closely by dreamcast. I collect alot of consoles so plenty of pal/US/JAP systems, helps when you have imports
Currently playing parodius deluxe and Gunbird on the saturn and Dragon quest 8 on ps2

Oh I forgot to mention my gaming profile! I'm not just for looks yknow!
I grew up playing Nintendo casually, all the systems except for the Virtual Boy. My dad would buy the systems and a handful of games for me and my two younger step siblings. We would play a lot of wrestling, Goldeneye, Mario Kart, etc. My first video game would be Duck Hunt on the NES at the ripe age of 4, which was the same year I learned to read huh!
My very favorite series is Legend of Zelda, and I was influenced at an early age by watching a babysitter play Link to the Past. So that makes my favorite game genre RPGs. Mostly because I really love all the boring assed text reading and creating strategies. Lately my obsession is with MMORPGs, because obviously I'm trying to torture myself!
Currently I have a modest collection of 350 games and 10 consoles, but always trying to build up and learn more about classic games since I'm ODing on current gen. I totally buy games to play them because I'm not as dedicated as most of you to build and sell, although I respect those of you that do!
I would be classified as "deaf" since I can't really hear every day sounds. I still have some hearing but it requires headphones and cranking to 11! I love Nintendo for creating very accessible games to play since I never play with sound (it would freak me out a lot). And I get a lil angry sometimes when games don't have subtitles (I'm looking at you, Splinter Cell series!) and especially when DVDs don't as well.
DigitalSpace can vouch for me, I'm a very mellowed out and down to earth girl who can make some crazy jokes and always willing to learn new things. Expect to see a lot of me posting around!

Just Introducing myself,
Who you are - Dan (shadow77110 on every site I'm registered at)
Where you live - Dunedin, New Zealand
How you found the forums - I was looking up how rare my old PSX games were and came across this site.
What your favorite games are - This is a hard one, might be Metal Gear Solid 3 (PS2) or
Super Mario World (SNES) or
Resident Evil 2 (PSX)
What systems you collect for - PAL PSX at the moment, but when I get a SNES, I'll collect for that too.
What you do in "real life" - I'm still at school.
Any other interesting facts - Not many, other than this site got me collecting and I am 13 and like games other than PS2/XBox GTA replicas. Hardly anyone at school knows I collect though, because the people that do, say the games are useless, not fun and old (whats wrong with old stuff? My Fav. Artist is Pink Floyd).

I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself. I'm 31 years old, been gaming since my big bro brought home a 2600 when I was about 6 years old. Although I do own other systems, I'd say I'm more Nintendo-centric than anything else. I'm not a huge message board guy, but I do frequent one other board besides DP. I am in the process of moving right now, so all my consoles are packed Due to that, all my game time the past couple of months has been on my DS. Phoenix Wright, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart Wi-Fi, NSMB and Trauma Center.
See ya 'round the boards.

09-30-2006, 03:40 PM
- Who you are
I'm the Grumpy Hatter, pleased to meet you.
- Where you live
Small town in Connecticut. Not much goes on around here, and the nearest game stores are a 20 to 30 minute drive. Not fun.
- How you found the forums
I'd seen it linked quite a few times on CAG, and I thought to check it out two weeks ago. I like to lurk a bit when I'm checking out a new forum, just to see the general mood of the place.
- What your favorite games are
In terms of "classic" games, I'd have to say Chrono Trigger. Really incredible game. More recently, I've really enjoyed Guitar Hero, Tales of Symphonia, and Super Smash Bros. Melee.
- What systems you collect for
I don't really do too much collecting. Until recently, I didn't even realize people considered video game collecting a viable thing to do. I don't buy many games for older systems very often, as most of my money goes toward getting all the games I want for the current generation. CAG has certainly helped me out there quite a bit. However, now that I know more about the collection aspect of the hobby, I've been considering getting a system I don't own and collecting for it. Dreamcast is the most likely choice right now, because it's got a lot of good multiplayer games, something my friends and I are really in need of, and it has a lot of legendary fighters. I suppose that was a bit of a long-winded answer, but I get carried away sometimes.
- What you do in "real life"
Student. So I'm in the prime of my life in terms of free time to play video games.
- Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc.
Really, I have CAG to thank for starting me on the path that has led me here.

When I grew up I just knew that one day I wanted a computer. After looking at all the competition I decided on a Commodore 64. My grandmother at the time (85?) worked at a (now defunct) chain store called "Venture." They sold the Commodore / Atari computers in a big way. But one day she heard that Commodore was going out of business (it did, but not for quite some time!) As a result, My parents were a little spooked about buying a "dead" computer. So what I got instead was an Radio Shack Color Computer.
Now don't get me wrong. It was an alright computer w/ good games. But the sound was hideous, you only had a choice of 2 different controllers (the controllers were analog), really bad graphics (4 colors!)
After a while I upgraded to the CoCo 3. It was better graphics with the same crappy sound. Anyway, I eventually upgraded to an Amiga and well - I won't make it very long. But I still think once in a while how I might have turned out or how different my life would have been had I had a C64.
Fast forward to last weekend I decided to visit the Commodore show in Lombard, Illinois. I picked up a copy of Commodork and after finishing the book I think it inspired me to actually purchase the computer and get some software for it. I'd also like to learn Assembly language programming too. Anyway, that's enough for now![/i]

Hey everyone. I am new to the forums, but have been a fan of digital press for a while now. I will try to keep this brief, for I have a tendency to ramble.
I am a 21 year old male from Cary, NC. I enjoy games and playing bass guitar. My ambition is to work in the game industry with the ultimate goal of being a game designer. Some of my favorite games include Super Mario Bros. 3, the Metal Gear Solid series, the Resident Evil series, Diablo II, Morrowind, and Day of Defeat. I am not a serious collector, and I have a humble collection ranging from NES to PS2.
That's all for now. Bye, everyone.

Hello All!
My name is Matthew,
From Columbia, MO. I am mostly into Xbox stuff now, just because stuff is getting cheap and it's easy to find. I am up to almost 100 Xbox titles and counting. I have small collection of games, a little of everything. I enjoy my NES the most just because thats the system I grew up with. Usually sell my super rare games on ebay to buy other games. Will have a lot of stuff on for the Christmas season.

Let's see, the name is Glenn.
I live in Aston, PA which is about 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia.
I build custom cars/motorcycles for a living. Seriously. I'm also looking into a more "regular" job because I'm in line for at least one probably two major knee surgeries next year.
I currently have a NES, SNES, N64, Game Cube, GBA, and will be picking up the silver edition PS2 as soon as it shows up at the local store. In addition I'll basically buy any system I can find complete in box that I feel has at least 1 quality game worth owning in the collection for it. I'm a pack-rat basically. My one condition is that I buy only "complete" items AND won't buy re-issues. So no "greatest hits", "players choice" or any of that crap. It's all complete and original or I'll keep hunting.
I got involved in video games when I was a wee little lad and my father took me to sears and surprised me with the brand new NES system. It's been a constant thing, more or less, since that day.
Other hobbies or whatever, oh hell I can sum up my entire life in very few words. I am a tattooed and pierced freak obcessed with motorcycles, custom cars, and video games.
Hope to get to know you all better soon, peace.

Hello everyone, I'm JD. I am a long time lover of video games and am just now 'rediscovering' them. (having taken a long break to collect several 1980s action figure lines...;)) What I'm most into are the handhelds. I have many Atari Lynx games, and Genesis games as well. I also have a Virtual Boy with nearly all the games made for it, and I support GB, GBA, GG, and have about 300 2600 "commons".....so I suppose I have a sampling of everything. @_@ :D Sadly, I traded away my Lynx systems and my Nomad years ago, and miss them badly. What I'd most love would be both or either of said systems....its very frustrating to have the GAMES for them but nothing to PLAY them on!! rrrrrrr lol. Anyhow, I live in Kentucky (ughhh...I'm a NYer at heart..) with my girl and our puppy, and am a chef by trade. Thats about it I suppose. Thanks for listening! LOL

hey everybody, my name is justin. i'm 26 and married for about a year and a half from north carolina and i'm an elementary school teacher. i also coach church league basketball and work part time some at the local ebgames. i started collecting kind of aimlessly around 2001 and it slowed way down around my junior year in college. but now since i graduated in 2004 my collecting has become a definant obsession. i have an snes, n64, ps1, ps2, dreamcast, gamecube, xbox, xbox 360, sega genesis, and sega 32X. i own around a total of 350 games most of which are for the snes (112 games). my goal is to own a 3DO, Jaguar, sega saturn, and basically every 8 bit system. i want to try to have a complete sega 32x library and then go from there. i'd love to own a couple arcade machines. anyway, i love the website.

Evan, age 19.

Washington, DC ... The Catholic University of America.
- How you found the forums
A friend showed me the site a while back. I also visited the store a few times, and even went to one of the meetings. The store is great, and so is the site. I try to avoid this site cause I spend hours on it, and I need to focus on my studies now haha.
- What your favorite games are
I always have trouble with this one. Hmm... lets do it this way.
Favorite RPG: Final Fantasy IV or Fable, depending what mood I'm in.
Favorite Platformer: Sonic the Hedgehog 2 or Super Mario 64
Favorite 1st Person Shooter: DOOM series, although Gears of War is already in a close second.
Favorite Adventure Game: Dungeons and Dragons for the Intellivision! haha
Favorite Sports Game: Mutant League Football or Tecmo Bowl, depending.
Favorite PC Game: Dungeon Siege, Neverwinter Nights, or Diablo. I still can't choose.
- What systems you collect for
Currently? None. I'm a full-time college student now. But before I went to school, I was collecting for all the Sega consoles. I have plans in the future to expand my NES and SNES collection.
- What you do in "real life"
Whoops, answered that already. I'm a full-time student here at CUA, and I also work part-time at GameStop.
- Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc.
I started collecting after I was given the family IBM PC in the early 90s just to play games on. I became obsessed with the computer, and how it worked. So now, I'm really interested in vintage computers, which isn't really 100% compatible (pardon the pun) with retro video games.
I've read some of your introductions, and I can honestly say this is my favorite forum right now.

Hello!
My name is John & I`m 30 years old. I live in Wisconsin with my fiance & my 10 month old son. Hopefully he`ll appreciate the games when he gets older. I collect for quite a few systems, but I`m mainly working on the NES right now. I build industrial gas & electric generators for oil pumps, hospitals & all kinds of other things. These engines are huge! I`ve been told that if you were to run one of these engines non-stop, it would be well over 1,000,000 miles before it shutdown. Crazy when you compare to a car!
I found this site basically by chance just searching the web. I may have heard of it once before that. I just hope it`s up & running for good now! Well, chat with you later guys!

Since I have actually started posting, I thought it was about time to actually introduce myself.
Well...I have been a lurker since September/October. I FINALLY decided to join a bit ago. I randomly found the site via search engine! (the modern world, I tell ya)
I am doing Atari things. I got interested in Atari, on a suggestion from someone I used to know. I had Pong and O2 growing up, but haven't really done much of anything, since I was about 12. I have had limited experience with SDC and PS2. I am not really a "gamer." But, I spent countless hours at the laundromat playing Galaga, Centipede, and Asteroids...but other than that really not much else.
I just recently got my first Atari 800, and I look forward to doing what I can with it. I have been toying with my emulator for a few months now, playing games....so far, I seriously suck, but it is fun nonetheless.
Alright... now for the GOOD part! (yeah right) Okay, well I am 34 (soon to be 35) year old female. I have spent almost my entire life in NW Texas. I am divorced (about 10 years now) and have no children (although I am going to be an aunt soon). I have been working for 7 years for a telephone relay service for the deaf, hard of hearing and speech impaired. I have done a stint volunteering with Prevent Blindness Texas South Plains/Panhandle division.
I am into a bunch of different things.
I read a lot, write a lot (as you can probably tell), researching many different subjects, listening to music, chatting, cars, computers, chess, SLEEP. I hang out in the #atari channel over on IRC. Basically, I am a jill of all trades... mistress of none!
I think this probably covers anything anyone would WANT to know about me... and probably stuff no one really cares about. BUT, if you have any questions or just wanna chit-chat... feel free to PM me or find me on IRC.

Name is Mark. 36 and married with a kid due any second (new little gamer!). I'm a technology architect at a "very large software company"(tm) ;-) Been a lurker on the site and a customer of the store for a while, but figured since I started posting I might as well intro.
Been gaming forever and pretty much collect everything. I'm more into collecting systems than games though, and usually just keep a representative sample of the "best stuff" for the platform.
Favorite games are Everquest 1&2 (addiction), WoW (lesser addicition), FEAR, Half Life 2, Gears of War and Resistance (those two have been a HUGE pleasant surprise for me and are just awesome).

Let us begin.
Hi I'm Blake G. of Texas.
I found the forums thanks to my friend Matt (Goomba24).
I'm new at this old video game collecting thing and I would like to start collecting atari 2600 games and nes games.
Well in "real life" I got to school and make great grades (I'm on the basketball team by the way) and just collect and play video games.
I began collecting after my grandfather died. My grandma let me have his old systems, and thats how I grew to love old video games. So It Is Very Nice To Be Here!

Hi everyone, name's Ar and I'm a 22 years old gamer from Spain. I found the website through a spanish message board.
My favourite systems are Sega Megadrive (which was my very first system), SNES, Dreamcast and the Sony consoles. I collect games from a lot of systems and I'm trying to make a complete Pal DC collection (PS1 & PS2 are too big for me). I'd like to get my hands into some dev stuff too. My favourite (and recent) games are HL saga, Mafia, Oblivion, PoP and Fahrenheit. On my retro side almost all Capcom games for SNES, Sonic, Another World, Shinobi and the Disney games for MD.
In real life I'm in my 5th year in Medicine, hoping to finish next year. I love reading and I'm an average artist ;)

Hello all!
My name is Mark, and I'm new here. It's 1:00AM in the morning and I stumbled across this website while looking for information about spotting resealed games. It seems like a place I wouldn't mind calling home, since I've recently plunged into the collecting scene.
I live in New Hampshire. It's a pretty decent place--and contrary to popular belief, we're not all hicks. I'm attending the University of New Hampshire because I followed a girl there. It definitely wasn't my first choice, but the girl is worth it.
I love RPGs, from popular ones (such as Final Fantasy) to more obscure and (in my opinion) underrated games like Azure Dreams and Quest 64.
I've recently decided to start collecting PSX games exclusively for the next few years until I've sufficiently built a collection--then I plan to move on to PS2 games. I'll most likely skip PS3 (I don't like the way this current generation is shaping up) and move onto another CD-Based system.
I'm a perfectionist and starting a collection of games that I can go back to years down the road was more or less just a natural progression for me. The thought of having an expansive library of old games gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling.
In 'real life' I'm constantly trying to better myself through reading, exercising, and meditation while I attend school. I'm going to find a job next semester since I'll be moving in with my girlfriend and our two puppies. My current major is English but I'm changing it to Computer Science (weird, huh?)
Apologies for such a dry dissertation. Like I said, it's late and my brain is a bit scattered. Bottom line is I'm really looking forward to participating in a community that enjoys collecting as much as I do.

Luckily I found another store I like in San Diego called Luna Retro games. Great little store to keep my hobby going. Well just wanted to say hi.

- Who you are
Hello all, I'm Eric! ^_^
- Where you live
Toledo, OH
- How you found the forums
I was looking for online rarity guides and found this site.
- What your favorite games are
I love so many games it's ridiculous, but my favorite game ever is more than likely Chrono Trigger.
- What systems you collect for
A lot! Atari, Intellivision, Master System, NES, Genesis, Sega CD, 32X, SNES, PS1, Saturn, N64, Dreamcast, PS2, Gamecube, Wii, Game Boy, Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket, Game Boy Advance, DS...I mostly focus on the classic consoles though.
- Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc.
I started playing video games with my father's Intellivision, back around when I was two or so. I began playing as soon as I could hold a controller in my hands. Ever since then, I've been addicted to gaming. More recently, I've begun to get serious about collecting although I've amassed a decent collection just from being a gamer over the years.
