Hello all, throwing my hat into the ring here!

I found this site through several different Google searches, and collecting retro gaming gear is always something I've thought about doing if finances allowed it. I was raised on the NES, DOS and N64 back in the day. I thought I'd sign up.

Good to meet you all!

Hi, everyone.

I'm from Centralia, Washington. However, that will be changing in a week or so.

I mainly collect Nintendo stuff and Sony stuff, although I have a pretty wide variety.

I don't really remember how I found DP, as I've lurked here for a few years off and on. I really thought I had an account, but I guess I didn't. I may have seen an ad at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo, or just did a search on Google. I really don't know why it's taken me this long to attempt activity.

My favorite games would be the Zelda series and Final Fantasy's main series. I also enjoy some of the newer Fallout games quiet a bit.

Hi
I live in Tijuana, Mexico
I've played videogames since the age of two, my uncle had a NES and I could spend all day long jumping around and swinging my controller to make Mario jump higher (back in the day they laughed, but, who would have thought that that would make Mario jump higher 20 years later hugh?).
Well, I started collecting like 5 years ago, it all started when I found a copy of Vanguard for the Atari 2600 in the box, with original shrinkwrap, at a flea market, it was buried in a box of old cables, and I got it for a dollar. That's when i thought, "well, if this has survived, What else has?" and I've had digged in every box ever since.

I don't collect for a console in particular, I love all videogames.

See you around.

Hi everyone my real name is Jamie. Im from Newfoundland Canada and just like you probably I found this place through Google. The systems Im re-collecting for are PS1,PS2 NES,SNES,N64,Gamecube etc all the main ones..Aside from collecting my job is in Seismic Exploration

Here is a link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tudY9aztlJc) to my most recent Game Room tour (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tudY9aztlJc)from a few days ago..

I am new to youtube and I dont have very many subscribers as of yet so all the help would be greatly apreciated..I plan on doing updates of unboxings of complete NES games and others.. I want to go the whole way with having a youtube channel so if you want to subscribe I would be greatful of that

What's up everybody. I'm Bil. I was refereed here by Shadow Kisuragi over on RF Generation where I spend most of my time.

I've been collecting for about 6 months and I think I have a pretty respectable little gathering of games. I am always picking up new stuff and I get lots of doubles so if you like trading games, we're gonna get along just fine.

Not gonna give a sales pitch, other than to say we got tired of stores like gamestop that gave you pennies for your game and then turned around and sold them for $30

Hello new here.
I admin a website Shenmue Dojo forums as it's one of my fave series. My fave series is the Ys series. I'm broke as a joke but get what I can when I can. Sorta new to collecting since only last year. Still have a decent one so far with not just games but some merch as well and a few rare items.

Started by reliving my childhood picking up an Atari 2600 with some games at a flea market turned into a obession of a wall of consoles. As of now we have around 25 systems and growing.

We are blest to live a walking distance from the Digital Press Store so getting games for these sytems are easy to come by.

Hey everybody, I've been lurking here for a while and registered some time ago, but am only now actually getting around to posting. So hi!

I'm from southern Ohio, where I work at a game store specializing in used and retro games. I myself am a collector of retro hardware and software as well, though I still keep up with current trends in gaming.

Hello to all, my name is Anthony and I'm from Savannah Georgia.
I am a Father and longtime gamer. I have lived here in Savannah for two years and haven't met many people around here that are into classic gaming.
I would really like to meet up with people in my area and discuss/play/hunt for retro games. Plus, meet some new friends online who have the love for the classics that I do.

Hey everybody...

New here, apparently this is the thing to do.

I'm a lifetime gamer. My SNES and N64 were stolen by construction workers when I was 15 and I just bought new (alright, old) ones at a classic video games store this weekend so I'm back to navigating the classics after years of emulating... Glad to be here!

Brian here. Old enough to remember 2600 games being sold new... Moved to SC about 4 years ago from RI. Not much in the way of gaming going on here. We had a Play-n-Trade *gag* about 35 miles from here, but it's gone now, and I think we're all better off. There is http://lyonsarcade.com/, but that's a 3 hour ride. I collect for ANYTHING that's not CD based pretty much (save for DreamCast), but particularly have a soft spot for SuperNES. Really enjoy odd systems like my Mattel Aquarius. Would really love to open a Flynn's Arcade replica or even a cool store like yours at some point! Found the site when looking for help on how much to spend for a collection of NES games I bought. Without your rarity guide for assistance, I'd probably have a huge collection of garbage that I paid too much for! Thanks!

Hi Everyone,

Im new here, I kinda stumbled across this forum through a google search.

- Who you are

I am the Owner/Editor of BN-Games.com. We do Modern and Classic stuff, though my primary focus is on an ongoing "Classic Capture" video series. Unlike many "Let's Play" types of vids or flat out reviews me and the guys who work on the site as well do mini podcast format audio over gameplay we capture and edit etc. I know there are tons of people out there trying to do the same thing on some level and I hope that we stand out a bit in the style and format. My goal is to record a video for every game in my collection which at this point is going to take years the way things are going lol. If any one is interested the series is up on you youtube channel here:

http://www.youtube.com/user/BNGamesReviews

or the official listing page with links on the site here:

http://bngames.basicallynothing.com/?page_id=2489

- Where you live

East Los Angeles, CA

- How you found the forums

Google search for Classic Game Forums

- What your favorite games are

Im an unappologetic fan of FF7, it is my favorite game of all time and I have an entire disertation on why it is that I wrote up here: http://bngames.basicallynothing.com/?p=1451

Otherwise, there are way to many list. I would need to list top 5's on a per console basis at this point.

- What systems you collect for

Primarily I collect for the SNES, PS1, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast at the moment. I buy what I can for my other consoles, but these four easily contain my favorite libraries.

- What you do in "real life"

Software QA/Support for a Database Application, IT Consult on the side.

- Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc.

I also am an avid guitarist (yet again linking to my page) I like to play to game music and try to teach others the basic melodies of some classics like this one:

I found this site in 2002... couldnt remember my original account info so i had to make a new one. Ive greg from multimedia 1.0 back in late 90's i believe.
got into 2 horrible accidents that took a few years to recover from.
I still have most of my game stuff , but lately ive been sorting through it to see what can go. I usually have alot of pcengine , saturn, nes , snes, sega, cdi-magnavox , 3DO and i even came across a new old stock sega master system and games.. i opened it to test it (base set with cart and contr)
anyways .. good to see this site still up and strong.
last memory i have of it , i snap shotted and video'd a bunch of pcengine carts and cds for the sites database. I think the moderator bought some cordless atari controllers and a complete boxed atari 2600 from me as well.

After lurking here for a short while I decided to bite the bullet and register myself :D
Hailing in from Belgium, I'm a retro-gaming addict that's still stuck in the 8 & 16-bits era, when games were fun and simple!

Been out of the gaming circuit for a while (ever since the Genesis came to an end) never making the jump to all those newfangled 3D things but ever since getting a GPH Caanoo I've been hitting the emulation scene and getting hooked on all those old wonders

Hellooooo

I am Vertigo or VP for short, I live in burning hot hell south florida where my biggest enemy is the sun and I have daily battles with it to prevent it from yellowing my lovely systems.

I was looking for a forum for classic gaming and what nots and you guys just kinda came up.

Although I do collect games I've always been more into collecting the systems themselves and other hardware. My current goal is to own every variation of 2600 (i'm up to 8 of them). I do like to collect SNES carts more then any other though and my NES carts seem to be growing larger in size as well...

I went to college for computer animation, with a focus in digital lighting and texturing. Wanted to go into video game creation (mostly make environments) however after working in the industry (movie not video game) I realized that I don't like taking orders from other people when it comes to my art work, so I'm currently looking to open a video game store and keep computer animation as a hobby. I am also currently do pretty well as a refurber, breathing new life into old video consoles....

look forward to posting with all of you I'm off to play mega man, see ya around.

superfamicast64
11-02-2011, 02:45 AM
Hello forums! This is SuperFamicast64 speaking, from scenic Northern Virginia! @_@

I found the forums just a few hours ago with a google search (gotta love google) and being a classic gamer, this seems like my kind of place ;D

My favorite games go over many-a-genre. Just to name a few, Final Fantasy VI and VII, Romancing SaGa, the Sonic the Hedgehog series (at least all the ones on Sega consoles), the Super Robot Taisen series, Shin Megami Tensei I and II, Persona 4, Panzer Dragoon, Super Smash Bros. (the N64 version being my fav), etc. etc. etc. (The list goes on for an extremely long time =P)

As my name suggests, my fav consoles are the Super Famicom (SNES for those of you who are wondering what the hell a Super Famicom is), the Sega Dreamcast, and the Nintendo 64. I'm always collecting for these systems, which i jokingly refer to as "Holy Trinity of Video Game Consoles" ;D However, currently I am also collecting for the new Bandai WonderSwan that i got recently.

Outside of video games, my nerd-dom continues into anime and manga, Warhammer 40k, and model building (Warhammer 40k and Gunpla). However, i also have been playing keyboard since i was 12 and guitar since i was 14, so when i need a break from the nerdier side of my life, i got my instruments to go to :guitar:

An interesting fact, I started collecting originally in 1999, after getting my Sega Dreamcast for Christmas. My serious collecting however, didn't begin until 2002-2004, when I began buying lots of games for the Dreamcast when GameStop was trying to get rid of their Dreamcast library (anyone else remember that?) Since then, i've bought quite a few consoles to add to my collection.

Thank you for your time, and i hope to talk with you all on the forums!

I know this forum a while ago, but i felt it was needed to talk at some point.
I'm 17, and avid retrogamer guy from France.
I have quite many game consoles, mostly Nintendo ones.
I tend to like Mario and Megaman games in general, but i play some other games too. I'm also interested in alpha, beta and prototype stuff. And rare stuff too.

For now, outside this stuff, i'm a high school student (i wanna stop, i feel bored).

Well, hoping for the best by staying here.

Hey fellow die hards, I am rocky east bklyn and philly kid to the heart, lil about me i was born in 72 yes me and the console market are the same age but i pray that is all i will ever share with the magnavox oddity lol. I am a child 70/80's which i consider the best time to grow up in modern history boy, 80's had it all and i had most of it lol. From optimus prime with a pepsitrailer to action max....dam you worlds of wonder lol. The first home console i ever played was a vcs/2600 which i begged for for two yrs in a row after seeing it on jaws and in oct 82 my parents went to toys r us and got one for me with the understanding that it stay closed till Christmas, but. there was a very big 200$ gorilla in the room atari pulled a sega 95 e3 saturn fast one on me a dropped the 5200 which of course i had to have, mom took the vcs back lied about not finding a 5200 and i cried myself to sleep hating the world and everything in it espically coleco lol. Well humble pie is best served cold i know because after seeing the biggest console box in history [outside] of the tg-16 cd rom box lol, under my tress i ate a lot of it that day and that day i fell in love with gaming . I dont flame or bash gamers who grew up in the post golden age but i will always stand proud and defend us old gamers lol, the kids that went to see the wizzard and super mario bros. knowing they would suk lol. after the 5200 love affair ended early thanks to the 83 crash, and jack the jackass tramiel,i loved on to the monsters that are the nes and master system ,long live kid nikki and segascop 3d lol. I will not go on forever but i must say one day i would love to help the world understand the importance of the atari lynx it was indeed the fist backlit 16bit color portable console and had scaling and rotation{stun runner anyone} almost three yrs before the snes and its mode 7 hype machine, anyone who is serious knows that epyx sold the handy/lynx to atari but only after making the mistake of showing it to nintendo first who never had any intentions on using the tec or buying it but ironically or sneakily depends on how you view used the lynx inspired sprite trickery in the snes i guess thats life for atari who also in that decade blew a chance to have the atari name on the nes and sega genesis talk about dumb makes you wonder if the whole commodore success thing was a fluke jack! Well thanks for having me and thanks for being here for me and all die hards of the gaming world. o yeah ps Long live sony lol.

Don't really collect prototypes/betas but I do collect games and consoles of anything SEGA, Nintendo, PlayStation and possibly XBox. Was thinking of hitting Atari up but then realised I'll never finish any collection the way I want to if I divert too much! haha

Hopefully gain some more insight and knowledge from being on these boards. :)

Tell us any or all of the following:

<> Who you are - okretromix

<> Where you live - Brooklyn, NY

<> How you found the forums - searching for answers to a most annoying problem. That's trying to remember the name of a video game from one's youth. * But, as started looking around here, it seems like a really cool spot for gamers of all sorts, in general.

<> What your favorite games are - When I used to play more often, it was RPGs, Puzzle, Simulation, Non-linear Racing games, and random assortment of others.

<> What systems you collect for - Nintendo, but not so much anymore, other 'priorities'.

<> What you do in "real life" - "real life", lol. The 'net is my life. Just kiddin'.

Take care all and keep on gaming 'til ya' knuckles cry uncle and then game some more.

Hey this is Arctica121, found this site trying to find specific games. I like to be active and im not much of a modern gamer (I feel like i dont have the time to play a game like Assasin Creed anymore) so i still stick to the classics.

Im actually a fan of sports but more RPG.

For the record if anyone could help me, If anyone ever played FAXANADU for the NES, Im actually trying to find more games like it, like to the T. My only concern was that the EXP rewarded you with better passwords. I wanted something where you level up. Im not talking Zelda II either because the "Tales of . . . " series style of random combat where you fought someone in a new window was annoying. Basically a platformer action adventure RPG just like Faxanadu

- This is Bret aka A_Locomotive(I go by this on a few other forums and online games)

- I'm from Spring Valley, CA. For those not familiar with Spring Valley its a parts of San Diego.

- I've heard the forum mentioned a few times else where but decided to join since PCengineFX went down and I heard some of the guys had migrated over here.

- I have to many favorites to list!
Legend of Legaia
Bonks Revenge
Donkey Kong Country(all 3)
Secret of Mana
The Legend of Zelda series
The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series
Oddworld series
As you can see I have a hard time choosing favorites, there are so many I love.

- I collect and play quite a few systems.
Atari: 2600, Lynx, Jaguar.
Microsoft: Xbox, 360
NEC: TurboGrafx-16 and hopefully soon Duo-R
Nintendo: GB, GBC, GBA, DS, NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Virtual Boy
Sony: PlayStaton, PS2, PSP

- I work in costco doing food and product demos, my friends call me a food cart lady, I wear that title like a badge of honor!

- Can't think of anything to interesting... I survived being electrocuted by very potentially lethal levels of electricity when I was a kid, hows that? :bigmac: I'm not sure really when I started collecting. Maybe it started when my older brother gave me his GameBoy and a copy of Mega Man and Links Awakening. Maybe it happened the day my dad bought me and my brother our very first console a Super Nintendo w/ Donkey Kong. Maybe it started later. Who knows, I'm not really sure when the collecting bug bit me.

Hi. I am finally getting around to doing this. I've been lurking for a year or so.

My name is Wade and I live in Southeastern, CT. I am 38 years old. I own by own business as a painting contractor.

I have been collecting video games for about 7 years, but have been buying and playing since Atari2600 came out. I like hunting yard sales and flea markets for them - something to do w/the wife. I slowly started displaying my collection in a spare bedroom, which I have since outgrown to put it lightly.

I am attaching (to the best of my limited ability and really crappy camera) some pics of my collection. Five pics just doesn't do it but here's 2 walls worth.

Hey guys,
I'm Thierry aka La Blatte (cockroach in french), 33 yrs old, Mac technician, freshly arrived (from Paris, FR) in Joysey one year ago. So, excuse my crappy english grammar (but I'm working on it :)
My first computer was an Apple II Euro+, in 83/84, followed by an Apple IIGS and finally the Amiga in the beginning of 90'. I spent millions of hours on these machines (specially the Amiga ! my Machine). I used the Amiga as a main computer until 97....crappy date of my first PC (). Finally, in 2004, I came back on Mac and finally never stopped using my Amiga(s).
I started to collect old machines (computers, consoles, games) in 2001 to finally get almost 250 machines in my collection (Acorn, Atari, Commodore, Sinclair, Amstrad, Sega, Nintendo, Thomson, PET, crazy stuffs, etc...). Unfortunately, before moving, I had to sell a (too big) part of my collection. I kept the ultimate precious part, the Apple IIs and Amigas (and my rarest piece, an Atari ST Book).
I'm a member of old video games, computers, consoles and digital art french associations : Silicium.org (I go to their convention in the south of France every year) and MO5.com (the biggest french Association, with as honor members the creator of Tetris, Double Dragon, Captain Blood and main goal, the creation of a real computer science and video games museum, like in Mountain View, CA)
I should be crazy....no, "oldies geek fan", that's why I'm here actually !

Hello fellow gamers! I'm Jason, 30 years old. I started playing video games around the time of

the video game crash of 83, which means I was like 2 years old. LOL I remember it like it was

yesterday. I was sitting on the living room floor, right in front of a wood grain tv with a 2600

joystick in hand, playing asteroids or whatever and in walks my mom. She said to the family that

games were mere cents! We got about a hundred games! It was awesome. I remember playing

Asteroids, Q*bert, Chopper Command, Sea Quest, Berserk and a bunch of other good old games. A few

years later my dad sold the old 2600 and all the games with it.

I was :(. But then my brother got a NES and Super Mario Bros with Duck Hunt. I played that thing

like crazy \\^_^/. I played through SMB hundreds of times. My Brother still talks about me

wearing out the reset button LOL.

After seeing how much I was playing his NES and having to hear him complain about it, my parents

bought me a Sega Master System! Although I no longer have a SMS I never stopped playing games

since.

I have about 16 consoles and getting close to a 1,000 games. My absolute favorite console though

is the PS2. I don't think I'll ever get a full set of PS2 games but I'm gonna try and get as much

as I can.

I am glad that I have finally joined this great site and I look forward to talking to all you

awesome gamers! :)

I have an older brother and I would play 2600 games with him and his best friend. The friend had a way to pirate 2600 games that I still don't understand, but as a result, I got my first experience with classics like Space Invaders, Pac Man, Asteroids and Missile Command on the 2600.

Since I was just as vulnerable as any 5-7 year old to the Chuck-E-Cheese phenomenon, I got sucked into the arcade as soon as I could reach the controls. Glowing, hypnotic images of Dirk the Daring later brought me back into the arcades of Virginia Beach's malls when the newest game was a whopping 75 cents and my parents usually refused to pay.

I whiled away the desperate months after the video game crash with my C64 which was the first computer that I (eventually) had in my own room. Years passed, and I only had inklings through friends of how great the mythical Amiga was. . . I did opt for a NES eventually, but as I got older and was distracted with things like basketball practice, school plays, and AP government tests, I found myself going back to the great games of the 64 - It was still hooked up when I left for college.

I took a break from gaming and was brought back to it (again by my brother) with the advent of 3d exploration and the pointy boobs of Lara Croft. The 'Playstation Era' lasted quite a long time for me and everything after that is not really retro gaming IMO.

I found Digipress with the help of member 98pacecar who recently took my entire (broken) Commodore collection off my hands. I was happy to find a competent collector here in Dallas who would give it a good home.

I play lots of "modern" games, but my love for the classics was reinvigorated in the past years by the GP32x. Wiz. I've done a fair amount of posting on gp32x.com, gamegavel, atariage, lemon64, gamefaqs and others as wongojack.

I'll add a personal top games list here as that seems like a good way to get some rep. These are not in order but are listed chronologically.

Pitfall 2600
Pirates! C64
Superstar Ice Hockey C64
The Legend of Zelda NES
Wing Commander PC
Tomb Raider PS1
Resident Evil PS1
Madden NFL 200x PS1
God of War PS2
Mass Effect 360

Hey guys, my name's Chris I'm from Sydney Australia. I came across these forums recently while searching for information regarding ColecoVision games and figured I'd sign up and say hello. :)

I love all retro games and platforms, but my favourites are SMS I and II, Colecovision and SNES. My first game was Alex Kidd in Miracle World that came built into the Master System console. This was in the late 80's-early 90's and I've been hooked ever since!

The systems I own/collect games for are:

- Sega Master System II
- Super Nintendo
- Sega Saturn
- Nintendo 64

I work as a chartered accountant irl and actually began collecting fairly recently. This was because my parents had donated the consoles/games I had as a kid to relatives and family friends, and I was unable to track them down. Decided to try my luck on eBay and have since picked up SMS and SNES machines along with several games to start me off :)

I'm keen to join the various discussions on this board and talk about all things retro gaming.

Thanks,

Chris

Hello, I"m MisterRowland. I'm 31, live in Central Kentucky and I work as a product engineer for a printer manufacturer. I've been playing video games since I was 8 and bought my NES. Right now I'm pretty much collecting for every system I've ever owned, since I still have all of them. Some of my favorite games are Punch-Out, Bart Vs the Space Mutants, Madden series, and the Assassin's Creed Series.

Hello there,

I am Jamtex also goes by the name of Barry, feeling far too old. Am a member of a number of other forums too. I live a nomadic existance as I tend to travel a lot, Japan now, Brazil in Janurary, England, Wales, Finland and Norway in Feburary, etc. A number of people I know on other forums are on here so i thought I would join.

I hate being asked what my favourite games are as I tend to get asked that question when I am at work. Needless to say I have lots of favourite games from Donkey Kong, Puyo Puyo, Sim City, Gridrunner, Daytona USA, Centipede, Ace Driver Victory Lap, Super Real Mahjong P3...

I collect games in general, although I generally perfer Japanese games and have reasonable collections for the Playstation, Megadrive, Famicom, Super Famicom, Sega Saturn and arcade boards.

In real life I work for an art gallery, helping install an exhibition and then running it for them, helping curate and work on it. This involves travelling a lot hence the nomadic lifestyle.

Been collecting since I could afford games, which seems like several decades ago. so I am a bit of a cynical old bar steward. Have helped out at a couple of gaming cons around the world and do like helping out.

Hey guys! My name is Devry and I'm in DC. The forums came up in search of a Game Genie to Super Game Boy adapter. Does anyone have one available or where they can be found?

Probably favorite games ever would be Final Fantasy 3/VI, Super Mario Bros 2 and Zelda II.

I collect for NES and SNES right now and love old school games.

I'm not exactly a newcomer but I haven't been posting for some years so maybe it's time to re-introduce me.

I'm Barbara, 33 years old and I'm a gamer since my childhood days. I used to collect games but I did sell some stuff and so now I just own (nearly) only stuff I really like. I'm not that much into nowadays consoles. The Wii has some funny games but the only thing that got me on the X-Box is Scared 2. I haven't been playing regularly during the last 4 or 5 years because of different reasons but I lately bought a PSP and now I'm back... I feel like in my childhood days again since there are so many cool games around. Nice thing is also that there are a lot of cheap games around so I can feel like on x-mas any given day. ;) Anyway, it feels good to be back!

My name is Kyle Gottgetreu from Port Coquitlam B.C. Im 18 and have been playing games since the age of about 4 and have been serious collecting since the age of about 12! I was brought up on the SEGA Genesis and the SNES and played lots of Zelda, Sonic and Mario. As I got older my interest in games grew big and my family started to notice, I played more games and different series and started my collecting in middle school after my parents friends son inspired me to collect after seeing his amazing room. So since then Ive been spending almost every penny I earn on games and game memorablia, and soon I will start making videos on Youtube to talk about my games and show my collections as well as do reviews! I have one video up right now on my channel thats been sitting there for a long time, its a review I did in the summer of a game that really got my attention. www.Youtube.com/theshiregamer to those interested!

Hello DP, the name's Joseph Leo and I'm from Murrey, UT.

I found these forums many years ago but never took the time to join, finally decided to take the dive and hit the signup button. My favorite games include titles such as Super Mario Bros. 3, Chrono Trigger and more modern games like God of War and Metal Gear Solid. Primarily I'm an NES exclusive collector, but I'm going to be venturing out into all things Nintendo soon enough.

I work as a precious metal ore processor and have a pretty good standing in collecting high end titles.

I've begun my collection only 6 months ago but have sold it all off in order to restart the proper way. I want to buy the rare titles first and work my way down.

Hey fellow gamers and collectors!

My name is John, I'm from Western New York and I'm 27. My first system was an NES on my fourth birthday in 1988, but it wasn't until my dad bought me a Sega Genesis on a whim one day. I want to say I was probably 8? so maybe 92?...either which way, that is when my love affair with gaming arrived. Ever since I have been a die hard Sega collector. I don't just collect Sega, I collect all pre-PS2/XBOX/Gamecube with the exception of the Dreamcast. I am also a pretty big anime fan so I collect lots of figures. Outside of the gaming world...I am self-employed and own a nursery landscaping company, I am a coin collector and re-seller, and my passion is brewing beer, in which I hope to someday open up my own brewery!

Anyone with Sega merchandise, I'm always up to hear what you have for sale or trade since finding stuff in the wild isn't as easy for us as all those Nintendo guys :P

Hey - just decided to register. I've not really read much here, but when I'm looking for NES/Nintendo Power information, it seems a lot of the results that I end up checking out come from here. Found the console game checklist generator and some great Nintendo Power lists.

I've been rebuilding my NES/Nintendo Power collection as of late. I don't have a ton of games (enough to fit into a bankers box), but I've been working more on the Nintendo Power issues.

Anyway - thought I'd register here and look around a bit.

Hi All,

Just found my way to this site. Some may recognize me from Atariage(also drthielegood) or from KLOV(bob5150). I love the classic/retro collecting community and am pretty excited to see what goes on around here. I have been into all of this since my first 2600..I don't know when. I'm now 35 with kids of my own and I love sharing the classics with them. I currently collect arcade machines, 2600 cv, intv, vectrex, nes, snes, Genesis, Dreamcast, ps2, wii and 360. I'm considering Lynx and possibly SMS if I can snag a power base converter. Anyway...looking forward to posting.

Cheers,

Hi. My name's Daria... well actually it's Alex but for online purposes Daria suits me fine. Geez writing this feels a little silly. Do these actualy get read? Anyway I've been playing video games since I was 4 years old and I'm an avid collector of all things RPG- well RPG and in english I'm not too fond of playing games that I can't understand. My favorite games/series include Shining Force, Alundra, Lunar, Rhapsody, Dragon Warrior, Zelda, Breath of Fire, Harvest Moon, etc...

I'll play any game for any system, so I'm really unpartial when it comes to "console wars". I'm 20 years old, and female incase it wasn't obvious by now. And I guess that's about it for now. (:

Haha! I just unearthed this post from page 22.

Update: I am now 28, which means I have been posting on DP for forever and a day. I still collect RPGs for all systems (mostly in English, some exceptions have been made), I now know how to spell the word impartial, I love cats and quiet walks on the beach leave me irritable with ungodly amounts of sand in my suit.

- Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc: I never Really didnt collect, i always went to thrift stores and 2nd hand places, and if i found something for a decent price that i wanted id pick it up, i didnt so much go out of my way to do so like i do now to look for these gems, but if i was on a mission for something else and i saw it id pick it up, but now its serious :) for the past 2 years its been that way, i even still have my NES, Gameboy and SNES from when i was a child, and considering i was born in 87, we had a NES in the house already, due to having a older brother it made that possible, he got it Xmas of 86, and then it got passed onto me, xmas of 91 we got the SNES as a combined gift for both my brother and i, then the following year i got a gameboy for xmas, so video games have been in my life since the day i was born. and every day i still learn something, or find a game i didnt know existed, so its still a thrill for me and a sense of enlightenment. besides from video games, i collect other things, like Dragon Statues, unique Swords and Knives, as well as Anime. ill even pick up movies based after animes or video games, even if its crappy, to make it part of my collection if was a series i enjoyed.

sorry about that every one Lengthy i know, but i came here for many reasons, my main one right now is a few questions about Reproduction carts, i ordered a couple, off of Gamereproductions.com, but my question has nothing to do with where i can find these, or how to make em, and id rather post it in the correct area, so could some one point me in the direction, or possibley a person who knows a whole hell of alot :) thanks guys.

My name is Guillermo, im 22 and i live in Buenos Aires Argentina. First of all i want to apologize if there are some mistakes with my writing, english is not my first language. I fully started collecting about a year ago, so im not that advanced in collecting yet, the first thing im collecting are games from my favorites sagas: Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, Resident Evil, and Castlevania (among other things of course). I have some but not much, its harder to find things here, not to mention 5 times more expensive. I'll be posting around, thanks !

Hello Everyone:popcorn:

Im in beautiful smog filled Los Angeles, CA

I found these forums by either doing a google search for SNES repros or for ugc covers.

My favorite games are anything Castlefvania, anything Zelda, anything Ys, lol so i have lots of favorites. #1 game that brings the best memories for me though is Ys III for SNES, love that game soo much

I originally was collecting for Gamecube back in 2006 then stopped for a few years until now. Now i brought out my NES still nice in its original box so going to start collecting for that system too along with Gamecube. I really want to get an SNES and N64 to start collecting for those systems.

Currently i am unemployed so i am not able to enjoy buying games for my collection

So i never intended to start any kind of video game collecting. I started collecting DVD's, especially Anime movies and series. Then i fell in love with the gamecube and decided i was gonna try to get every game i wanted for that system. Never really intended to get back into my NES but playing the emulators now is really no more fun. I had to go back just cause i love seeing that big toaster their with its nice square controller. So now I intend to start collecting all the NES games i want, i currently have about 20 games including some favorites like Zelda 1 and Mike Tysons Punch-Out. Ive been stuck to ebay and craigslist recently trying to find a good deal on an SNES system or N64 system. Already have a few games for each system so now i just need the system to play them.

My PS3, 360, and Wii are starting to feel neglected lol. I dont know why but the simplicity of these old games is just so much more appealing recently. Plus like everyone hear it brings back wonderful memories

Hi. I'm from Finland and I'm so damn new here it hurts. I joined this place because I've decided to start collecting retro rpgs for various platforms now that I have given up on fighting games. A pretty brutal decision imo, so we'll see how it goes..
