Hey Guys!
My name is Delf, and after a long period of inactive game collecting, I'm finally getting back into the game!
Well, I'm 27, living in good 'ol Oklahoma City, OK. To my knowlege, I'm one of the only people that collect classic video game stuff in Oklahoma.
I have been aware of digital press for quite some time now. I have the collector's guides.
Favorite all time system is the Atari 2600, and favorite games are Yars Revenge, Pitfall, HERO, Space Invaders, and Pac-Man (but not the 2600 version of Pac-Man!)
I currently collect just for the ATari 2600, 5200, and 7800 systems. I used to collect for the ColecoVision, INtellivision, Odyssey 2, but late last year, I decided I need to focus on just Atari systems. So, I sold off the other systems, and now all I have is Atari stuff.
In my real life, I work as a network administrator, and go to car shows. I don't have a wife, so none of that stuff to attend to :-D (yet)
I began collecting for classic game systems a long time ago, sometime back in the early 1990's, when I was still in High School. I was living in the Western Part of Oklahoma at that time, where no civilization exists--electricity barely exists there. I remember when Cubicolor became available, and I scrounged a $100 up buy a cartrdige. Collecting was hard, but I would make it to Amarillo, TX about every 6 months and I would load up at the Flea Market.

My name is Danny, I am 30 years young and live near the town of Kewaunee, Wisconsin (If you go on yahoo maps, my exact town I live in is called East Krok). I am married and have 2 kids, Payton, 4 (daughter) and Brandon, 18 months (son).
I came across this site about 4 years ago which is when I started my serious collecting. I had all the good systems when I was a kid, but got rid of them when I got older. I started buying a few things here and there around town and bought items here and there, needless to say, here and there has become 4 rooms in my basement.
I collect games for many systems. I have about half of the Atari, Colecovision, Intellivision and SMS libraries. I am about 50 games away on the SNES and Genesis from being complete and only need 3 games for the complete NES collection.
I have thousands of duplicates, just need to go through all of them. So I plan on helping many of you out on your want lists.
When I am not collecting or playing games, I usually am hanging out with my wife and kids.
My real job is selling Potato Chips and other snacks for Jays Foods, a smaller competitor of Frito Lay up in beautiful Door County Wisconsin.
I look forward to working with many of you on this site and around the world.
Cheers!
Danny

Hello. My name is Brandon. This Introduction is a little late (when I joined the forums this thread was on page 8).
I'm 21 tommorrow (as it is 3/11/03 upon writing this) and am looking forward to spending my entire day in Dave & Busters playing DDR for the first time.
I reside in Jax FL which is the best place ever to collect games. There are about 11 games stores that I know of, and 7 large flea markets all within an hour of driving distance. Plus since most flea marketers have no idea what Ebay is or how to work a computer, good stuff gets sold for very low prices (i.e. Shining Force CD complete for 10 dollars, Miricle Piano Teacher for Nes at 4 dollars, Puzzle Fighter for 15, the list is endless).
Yxonomei is my fiance, and for those of you who saw my Mario Towel Ebay Insanity entrant, that would be her.
I'm going to collage full time and am trying to get into rendering or multimedia design. I'm also a proficiant short story writer (Go look at "Ballad of the Urban Psycho" in the Kingdom Arts forum). But I will be the first to admit that my spelling leaves something to be desired, so bear with me.
I'm also a fantastic Puzzle Fighter player and whoop butt at Blackjack.
I work part time for Citicard making collection phone calls. Its not fun, but it pays very well so what the hey.
I also like Capcom....alot. My main collection goal is to get every Capcom game released stateside. I've got 121 right now.
That is about it for me. Um pleased to meet you?

Howdy folks.
I'm a long-time RPG addict with a smattering of other games that have gained by interest by means of cute little gimmicks(being able to crawl around in a cardboard box, having talk radio stations where people complain about all the old floks in Florida) and found a place in my cold black heart.
I guess I'm a little young compared to a lot of the people here, as I was introduced with the NES, but didn't really fall in love until around the time I discovered Chrono Trigger.
Frankly, I can't remember how I found this place. Erm, what else is there? I'm your typical MS-hating, Squaresoft fangirl, anime nut(what I can afford, anyway. Which isn't much :) ), wannabe writer, smily-overusing, raving lunatic. Oh, and I have a sprite comic! Yay.
If any of this isn't quite coherant, it's because it's late and I'm tired. Granted, this is my usual state, but still :)

Aight.
Hello. My name is Chris. Im 23 and I work for microsoft.
*dodges tomatoes and other random vegitables being throw*
Ok, now that that's out of the way. I've been into videogames since I was about 4 years old. Atari owns. I started really getting into it around the time the SNES came out and I actually got to go to the Nintendo World Championships in 1994. It was called PowerFest '94. For those of you old skool enough you probably either remember it or actually competed in it. I've been mostly into computer games lately but I still enjoy fireing up the ol SNES and ownin down to china town.
Anyways, Im into mostly fighting games, but I like racing & RPG's as well. And other then a couple of exceptions, sports games can eat my ass. IMO they have no buisness being a videogame.
Ok, I think thats it. i r teh d0n3.

My name is Sonny Kyzer. Im 21 years old and live in Titusville, FL.
I came these forums by a friend over at Atariage. I was having some problems with TYGC and he showed me the mess he made over here.
I collect for the Atari 5200, Jaguar, and Vectrex. My favorite games are Zaxxon, Rayman and Rip off.
In real life, I am a Auto technician at a local dealership. I have a 2 year degree in general automotive service and just started taking courses in GM and Honda service. I also build engines and transmissions for friends and people who know of my work.
I began collecting recently. I was at college when someone started talking about how they sold there Atari. My parents bought us kids a 5200 back in the mid 80's. I remember sitting in front of our big TV playing Zaxxon and other 5200 games. In 91, the system quit working and they threw it away. We got a SNES after that and I forgot about the Atari. Now I am trying to get back what was lost and then some. This is more fun and cheaper than cars :D

I suppose I will introduce myself. My name is Evan and I am from Manitoba. I am a huge fan of the snes, and have created one of the largest snes sites on the internet. Currently my collection isn't too big (only 60 games) but it is slowly growing.

Greetings,
My name is Ed and I'm a collector of pretty much anything game related. So my collections are pretty much a little bit of everything and a whole lot of nothing so far. I collect for, and enjoy consoles, but my true love is arcade. I currently own an Atari 2600, NES, Snes, Gamecube, PS2, GBA, and about a dozen arcade machines. I have a few carts for each machine, nothing too rare.
I think my love for vids comes from not having too much money growing up, and of course no money = no games. I'm making up for it now. :D
See you around the forum!

Hi!
My name is Josh, I'm 18, and I once was a video game collector for just about any system I could afford to get my hands on. Lately however, most of my gaming stuff had been just collecting dust, so I decided to pawn it in favor of games I would play....which is really ending up to just be pretty much bemani games. Anyway, I guess you could say that I collect bemani stuff, and will go nuts over most of it. :D
I'm in Machesney Park, Illinois (It's about an hour and a half outside Chicago), and I found the boards thanks to a local friend (Captain Yashiro). I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about games and game systems, and am glad to be able to participate in the forums.
If you ever want to talk, go ahead and email me (ironjosh@ameritech.net) or AIM me (JWKobayashi).

Helloy everyone,
my name is Laurens and I come from the Netherlands. I don't now of any collectors in my country (I don't think there are to many) so thats why I love to see this forum with all these people who like the retro stuff as much as I do.
Right now my NES collection begins to grow the way I like it. I now have around 200 games for the NES. The games are hard to get here in the Netherlands..... Further more I have a SNES, SMS and Megadrive.
I have begon collecting not so long ago. I thought about the time I was playing Streetfighter II on the SNES and thought: wouldn't it be nice to have many/all the games for the NES and SNES. I still have a long way to go :D but I'm hopefully one day get to the point of having most/all of the games for at least the above systems.
In real life I'm working as a system engineer.

Hi everyone, my name is Nick, I'm 21 years old, and I am from South Jersey. I am currently a senior at Drexel University in Philadelphia and my major is Digital Media. Basically, my work at school consists of making 3D models and animations along with some smaller projects on the web and design. I plan to get a job in the videogame industry when I graduate in June...applications go out this week! Once my websites up you can see some of my work. I have been playing games since my parents gave me a colecovision and I haven't looked back since. I have just recently began my quest on collecting every system and the games on each that are appealing to me. Not sure what else to talk about. Hopefully I'll have the chance to become friends with the people here. If there's anything I can do for you let me know...I'm always willing to help. :D

My name is Saturn and I live in South Central Texas. I've been playing video games since the Atari 2600 was released and that's where the addiction began.
I found this forum by chance (and a tip from a friend at another forum) and have enjoyed every minute here since! My favorite games are mostly survival horror and/or fast paced action titles.<--contradiction? Once I got my hands on Resident Evil for PSX, there was no turning back. Since then, I've enjoyed every addition to the genre that I can. I have around seventeen systems, most of which I still play when time permits. Although that seems less and less frequently with the insane hours I've been putting in at work. Oh well, knowing there's a good supply of unopened games gives me a great deal to look forward to. :D

My name is Ed, I'm from Chicago; home of D'ah Bears..Although I perfer
videogames to sports. I've been in to gaming since the early '80s.
And I can state this " I never played A game system that I personally
didn't like at least 1 game for that system". Although I rather new in

Anyone who seen my post WHERE TO FIND would think otherwise.
For that is me in a nutshell I am curious about everything especially
where to find things. I have a side interest in Radio...Radio Shows
such as Jack Benny and The Shadow. I consider myself a pack rat
anyone who seen my closet would agree with me for I have gaming stuff
from way back...from when I started gaming....I never throw anything
out, and over the years I found plunty I took home including a
Radio Shack Color Computer and it's 2 joysticks also my 2 SMS
and a few games.
I am will to help those who need help, so please feel free to contact me.
Maybe I pass along a story or 2 I collected over the years from my dealings

How's it going everyone? My name is chris (lucifersam1 -- I'm HUGE Pink Floyd & Roger Waters fan), I am 25 years old and live in Massachusetts, in the Worcester area. I stumbled upon this site when I was doing a search for "massachusetts classic gaming". I found a site hosted here in Massachusetts called "New England Classic Gaming Headquarters," that made reference to "The Digital Press Guide." Naturally, I had to find out what it was all about :-). So here I am.
Here are the less boring details! The first systems I played were the Intellevision (which I found in perfect condition just the other day, along with 15 complete games!) and the Atari 2600 (the good old days of River Raid and Joust), of which I still have about 10 games (although the system smells horrible when i turn it on!).
Systems I own now include: Intellevision, NES (well my brother has it actually), SNES (w/ the super 8 attachment), Turbo Duo, Sega Genesis + Sega CD (just scored it for free!) and PS2.
My favorite series, hands down, is Castlevania. My favorite system is the SNES. I just can't get enough of it. Thankfully, all of our NES/SNES stuff has all the original boxes and manuals (we did something right when we were kids!).
Anyway, I hope this is not too long. I look forward to joining in on discussions and getting to know everyone.
thanks for your time,

What a great place this is!
My name is Pete. I am almost 30 and have been playing games since my 10th birthday. I got into collecting after getting the urge to relive my youth with a Vic20.
Since then I have collected a lot of bits I never had. I have 3 Vics, 1 Plus/4, 3 C64's, Spectrum 128+2, 3 Atari STs. In the past I never was a console guy, but now I have a few. Master System, 2 Mega Drives, GameGear, N64, Game Cube, and a PS/2. Phew.
Hope to have lots of interesting times remembering old games :)
Oh, and my GF thought I was mad until she saw some of the pictures on this site.. Thanks guys ;)

Hello,
I'm Mike, 21, from Rochester MI. i just recently started collecting, and stumbled upon these pages while i was looking for checklists of games for various systems. and checklists i found...
i was brought up on the atari 2600 and later got NES for my 7th birthday. i actually sold the NES (BIG REGRET ... looking for toploader now =) ), but now have enough systems to keep me occupied for awhile: Atari 2600, Gameboy (b&w), SNES, Genesis, Game Gear, N64, Dreamcast, Gamecube. My current goal (which i just started, and have a looong way to go on, is to get the complete dreamcast catalogue.
I work at a mall-based record store (FYE), we also carry some games (we've been blowing out some dc games recently for $5-$10, not much left tho), but generally we lack in that dept. I also have 1000+ cds... another addiction of mine.
thanks for reading my BS!

Hello my name is Nelson, from Puerto Rico, I am 28 years old, co-founder of one of the very few gaming sites in my area. My pages is www.palanquita.com and mostly we do reviews in spanish for every current platforms. Also we have a section of retro games, very cool page. I collect Oddysey, Atari 2600, NES, SNES, SMS, Genesis, Neo Geo MVS, Turbografx-16, Sega CD, Saturn, PS1 (mostly the big boxes), Dreamcast,Gameboy and Gameboy Advance. I have a PS2 and X-Box too.
While analyzing my list of Sega CD games I realized that in the complete list of Dreamcast games there is one game missing, or I guess that is missing: I have a Sega Classics 4-in-1 that includes a Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective game with it that do not appear in the complete DC game list. If anyone knows about this please let me know.
I'm Ste (yeah it's hard to get used to, I'm the kid of some hippy Swiss-German post-war immigrants (my parents were barely 5 when they came over, but they were instructed in all manners of the culture...but I digress) it's pronounced SH-tay - like Stay but with a SH- first). I'm have XY chromosomes.
I currently live in Ottawa - the scenic capital of Canada.
I began collecting fairly recently. I was a late-bloomer as is were. I started playing on an APF-401A pong unit in the early 80s. My brother and I kept taking it apart and staring at the parts in amazement - there's not much in there by today's (or then's) standards. We destroyed a few units - but they were failry easy to come across - being produced in 1976 - the year I was born - and Saskatchewan being a pretty boring province to live in, especially if you lived in the rural areas - it seemed every yard sale had one for sale.
Fast forward a few years, and we were playing on our TSR-80 portable. That thing weighed a ton! But it was fun. We didn't have any games for it, so we programmed our own from a BASIC book we found. It wasn't much, but we had lots of fun.
We lived vicariously through our friends machines - the C64, Apple IIE, etc. Finally we joined the rest of the "world" and got a Tandy 1000EX. It played lots of Games in 16 startling colours, whith only 256KB. During this time, we never heard of consoles for some reason.
Oh, I remember why - we lived in a small village in rural Quebec by this time, and had no Television stations - receptions was horrible. One day I got a job babysitting some brats (they were!) and they had an NES. Love!
A while later, I moved to Quebec City and Radio Shack was having a sale on TG-16s. I lost in my various travels and it remains in myt heart forever.
Then I moved a fewmore times and finally settled here in Ottawa - I got a job working in records at the Registrar's Office at the local college, and I decided I needed a hobby. I started to look for one.
One day mom visited and dropped of a box she had found. PONG! It was in the box.. YEAH MOM!
The memories came back. I started talking about systems of yesteryear and a friend volunteered his old C64 games to me, though he no longer had a C64 to play them on. I accepted. One month later I found a C64! FATE!
Another trip led me to some vic20 cartridges. I said what the hell - one week later I found a complete system....
Well before I bore anyone else todeath with my sotry - I now own quite a few consoles and computer systems from the early 80s to the late 90's.
Then one day I was zooming around the net - a few weeks ago actually, and some how I ended up here and decided to make it home. I bought the book and started highlighting like crazy.
That's me in a nut-shell!

I am pretty new at this collecting deal so I am looking foreward to reading up on as much as I can. My gaming expirence is fairly recent because of my young age. My first system I played on was the NES. NES still facinates me and I hope to find one that I can purchace (my old one was taken away :( ) When I moved to California I found my grandparents had a Atari 5200. That is alot of fun and I have about 15 games for it. Along with some consoles such as PS2, SNES, SEGA Gen. and N64 I also spend alot of time on my good old computer. I hope to learn alot here, meet some pals and eventually get into the collecting buissness.

Heya all.
My name is Adam Gallant, I work at a video game store and I'm new on the actual 'collector' side of gaming, but have been gaming since age 4 when my mom bought me an old Atari 2600 to play around with. I wish I still had it :(
I currently have the systems in my signature, favorite games would probably be Final Fantasy I, Metroid, Zelda, FF 3/6, Stampede, Video Pinball, I*Robot (which I noticed the site covered in one of their past magazines, good show!) and anything King of Fighter related. Even 95. Really. *cough* Oh yeah, Phantasy Star IV, but I've yet to really get down and play the other three before it.
Um, so yeah. That's about it.

Hello,
My name is Scott; I live in San Jose, Ca. I am 30 years old, and married. I started collecting about 5 - 6 years ago. When I was growing up, My parents made sure to keep my brother and I entertained by buying us an atari 2600. Ofcourse we played it so much, it broke and we had to buy a replacement. I don’t remember playing it much, but I am sure we did. We upgraded to a Commodore Vic 20, with the tape drive and such. I spent hours on hours on that thing. Now I wish I still had my original equipment)
Then instead of moving to the consoles gaming, I gained interest personal computer gaming. My parents bought me an Atari 520 st for my 7th grade Christmas present. I really wanted the apple 2e at the time, cause that’s what the schools had (what early brain washing apple was doing) :-D I had an Atari shop down the street from me where they would let you try before you buy. I spent HOURS there, "trying" all the games.
After that I was just heaving in to PC gaming after we upgraded to an IBM PS2, then to a 486, then the rest is history.
In middle of those years, I never owned a nintendo, but I love playing my friends. And I did not get another console game until I think I was 15 or 16 when I got a sega genesis. (Which I still have). I got really heaving into street fighter 2 arcade version and spent all my time at 7-11s and arcades doing the street fighter craze at the time. So Street fighter 2 came out on the super nintendo, I HAD to buy a SNES just for that game. Then other of the "newer consoles" slowly ended up in my home.
One day at work, We were talking about old games and such, and that gave me the "bug" to look for an old Atari pong system. (pre-ebay) I had no idea where to find one. So I put an ad in the paper saying "will buy old pong systems 20$" that same run of the paper someone was selling one for 50$ and I did not know he was selling one. But he called me up saying he had one. I drove to the guy’s house and he plugged it in, and everything worked. I was about to give 20$ and he said, "my ad I wanted 50$" between my wife and I, we only had about 37$. So I offered it to him, and he excepted.
So from there, I started looking for systems at Flee markets, garage sales, and thrift stores.... and ebay. I don't know how many systems I have, but I know I am still missing allot of systems. If I see something in the wild, and I don’t have it. I will pick it up (console wise). Carts are a different story; I will pick them up if they are cheap and or fun or rare. I have a fairly large collection in my opinion, but not as big as most people out there.
Well, that is all I can think of right now. Sorry for the grammar and spelling errors and the lack of flowing thought.

Wow, after nearly 150 posts, I realized that I haven't done this yet....
Hi,
My name is Matt, a 22-year old gamer in Toledo,OH. I own about 3,000 games (haven't counted in awhile though). I'm more or less a Neo-classic gamer, but do have a 7800 and Intellivision hooked up. My game room is a massive basement area and you can check out the pics here on the site. My parents actually found the site and ordered the 6th iteration of the guide for Christmas one year. I felt compelled to contribute, and I do, nearly daily now. I've written a whole lotta reviews for the site and love to do it. Outside of gaming, I'm a huge Godzilla fan and love basketball. I work at Toys R Us currently, but hope for something better (I.e, writing for a mag/paper). I also own nearly 15 animals of various species and find it quite an intriguing hobby. I'm always willing to talk about any of my interests so drop me a line if your bored.
Hi you crazy collectors ^_^
My name´s Daniel, I´m from Germany and 25 years old. Formerly I only took a look at the game rooms, and now I decided to register myself on this board. I started in 1984 with video-gaming. I played Pitfall on my big brothers Atari when he was off ^_^
My first own computer was a C64 (1987) and my first own console a NES (1989).
I collected since 1997 all I could get, but now I calmed down a bit, sold much of my collection, coz it didn´t fit in three rooms then. Now it easily fits in two rooms and I just kept the items I really wanna play with - I realized it´s better by now... but that´s just me - I stay in business. Greets to you all!

Hello, my name is Robert. I´m 24 years old and live in the Ruhr Valley in Germany. I started collecting 5 or 6 years ago. My first experience came in the form of a pong clone, then it went on with the Atari 2600. Then came the homecomputer time (C-64, Amiga) and i returned to videogaming with the SNES. I currently own 20 different systems and about 220 games. I recently started to focus my collecting on the Sega Mega Drive (Genesis), for which I currently own 60 modules, 10 CD and 4 32X games. But at the current tempo of games coming in, I think I might try to go for a complete set (PAL only, of course). I also have a decent DC-collection (with the focus on good games). I also like to collect games, which were only released in Europe (or just Europe and Japan), [so I might one day come to the USA and have you guys selling your kidneys (and souls, mothers, etc.) for my games. :D ]

Nick, here, from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I'm 24, working in software development, and still enjoying the bachelor life.
The first games I remember playing were Buck Rogers on the ADAM and Captain Comic on the PC. My interest in gaming in general didn't really pick up until I got a NES, though.
My favourites have traditionally been RPG's, point-and-click adventures, and sports games. I've enjoyed games of every type, though, except for flight-simulators (probably stemming from my awful experience in merely getting the plane up and flying in Jetfighter).
While I was in university, I pretty much got out of gaming. To make up for that lost time, right now I'm basically collecting whatever I can get my grubby paws on.
The PS1 and DC seem to have the most stuff easily available here, so I've been grabing mostly stuff for those lately. Well, maybe not the DC so much recently, since mine seems to be going through one of its random laser decalibrations.
Other systems that I've got hooked up are the GameCube, NES, SNES and Genesis. Got a GBA for portable fun, and a Lynx that I'm not sure even works since I never got any games for it.
Oh, and I shouldn't forget the Virtual Boy. Best $30 I ever spent.

Hey! So my real name is Amber and I am actually the fiancee of boatofcar (YAY!). He helped me find this message board and tells me about it ALL the time. I like video games... my faves to play are Grand Prix, Freeway, Tetris, Dr. Mario, and Kirby's Avalanche. I don't collect anything, I just enjoy playing games with my sweetie. :-D In real life I am graduating from college and looking for a teaching position...
oh... I am going to the video game convention in Las Vegas this summer...
so that is just a little bit about me!

300 posts later... I'll finally introduce myself. I'm such an ass.
My name is really Ryan Amos. I use the name INTVGene because I love the Intellivision, and Gene was always an alias I used when playing video games because I thought it is a strange name and it was kinda a joke at the start.
Anyway, I love video games, both new and old... although I think that the golden age has definitely come and gone. One of my favorites is Thunder Castle for the Intellly, you should give it a try.
I am 29, and a teacher in Canada. I like these forums because there are some good discussions about games both new and old. I think I just stumbled on here from a google search someday. Anyway, that's about it.

Greetings,
My name is Mike and I live in Warren, MI. I am 29 years old, and I have been actively collecting over the past three years. However, I actually started collecting around 13 years ago when I would go the goodwill stores looking for flannel shirts during my “grunge rock” period. During that time I would pass by the electronics section and I would always see an Atari or other game system. It made me remember how much fun I had with my Atari 2600 when I was younger and I started buying something every time I would go. I bought everything from the Odyssey to the Colecovision, but I eventually stopped when I went to college.
One day I happened upon this website, and it’s been an obsession ever since. I have been a lurker here for a while, but decided to come out into the open :D . I collect everything from the Odyssey to the Playstation, but I mostly focus on the Atari, SNES, and Genesis. However, just like any other obsession, I am always open to collecting new things :D .
Since I pretty much spent my youth in the arcades, my favorite game of all time is Galaga. However, Ghosts ’n Goblins still takes most of my quarters even to this day. I’m just not good at that game, but every time I see one, I can’t resist playing it. Other than that, I'm always looking to trade my games and to meet new friends.

Good evening!
My name is Nick, I'm 24 and currently living in San Francisco. I'm currently a graduate student in games animation, but barring any unforseeable circumstances, I will graduate at the end of June, at which point I hope to get into the games industry and make a difference.
When I was very young, my parents bought me a ColecoVision, and I would play Lady Bug for hours and hours on end. After that I got my first Nintendo system, and my collection of games started growing. As I got older, I would still stop by stores and look for NES games I had never heard of. Although I never really considered myself a collector, I did in fact begin to amass a fairly respectable library.
I stopped collecting for many years during college, thanks to money woes typically associated to struggling college students. :) Now that it appears I'll fairly be leaving that sordid world, my interests have been renewed. I recently purchased a Bally Astrocade, and immediately my passion for vintage gaming consoles came rushing back.
Although I hardly consider myself a hardcore gamer, I love games more than anything in the world, and could talk about this sort of stuff for days and days without ever getting sick of it. I probably won't post much, but I assure you, I'm probably reading.

Who you are - Josh
Where you live - Eugene OR
How you found the forums - My bud kevincure
What your favorite games are - qix, ninja gaiden 2, zelda 2 the adventures of link,
What systems you collect for - Nes, SuperNES, Virtual Boy, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, N64 and gamecube. Any and all nintendo, that's it, strictly nintendo. I even have pizza boxes with mario and luigi on them.
What you do in "real life" - I am a full time 19 year old community college student and I work for a magazine company called The News Group distributing magazines in certain stores. Sounds cool, but it sucks.
Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc - I began collecting about umm...4 or 5 years ago. I had just sold my nes two years before I started collecting so I could buy new stuff (yah! dumb me). Then i spotted A nes with about 40 games at a garage sale for 10 bucks, I offered them 5. They took the price just as well as I took them :D. Ever since then I have been on a constant quest for anything nintendo related. Sure, I was in the phase for a while where i wanted to collect every system. After I got my first 3DO I realized how shitty some systems were, so I sold what i had accumulated (other then nintendo stuff) on ebay, including a couple of atari's, jaugar, sega cd,32x and a geni, an intelivision 2, a couple PS1's and a few master systems. I'm always short on cash, so I am constantly searching out a good deal at garage sales, goodwils and st. vinnys so I can clean up, piece togather and sell other systems (as well as other crap that sells) and make cash to fuel my habit. Well that is me.

Hello!
My name is Ryan and I live in the suburbs of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I'm 26 years old and a graduate of the Photography and Advertising programs at Sheridan College.
I didn't know what I wanted to do after graduating so i went on a 2 year vacation accross Canada, Europe, United States and Mexico. I thought I would have figured out what I want to do with the rest of my life by now but I havn't, so I'll keep on gaming till I fugure it out. Buying and selling games is how I make my living.
I've been playing video games since the early 80's. I started on my cousin's Atari 2600 and eventually got my own Colecovision for christmas. I quickly became master of Time Pilot, Donkey Kong, Carnival and Smurfs. I graduated to the NES when it came out and couldn't stop playing SMB and Zelda. All of my own games and systems where eventually thrown out or given away and I totally forgot about video games when I discovered GIRLS!!!
After I had fully explored women, I rediscovered video games at a local yard sale! I picked up an Atari 2600 with a bunch of games at that yard sale. The following weekend I went to yard sales specifically looking for games and systems and the rest is, shall we say, history.
I started selling games to fund my trip to Europe. After returning from Europe I decided to start collecting every home console and game ever released commercially. No computers, imports, prototypes or homebrews. I own 30 different systems and I'm approaching the 3000 games mark.
I'm currently upgrading alot of my games to meet my goal of having a near mint or better collection with every game being complete. In doing so, I discovered the DP site in January and quickly ordered a copy of the DP Guide. I have learned alot about games from this site and hope to learn alot more. Next year I plan on going to the show in Vegas and in Philly.

Heh. Two Coloradans in a row...
Who I am -- I'm Duncan, 23 years old and a game fan since around 1985 or so.
Where I live -- Colorado Springs, CO, though I was born in Nebraska and lived there until 1986.
How I found the forums -- Well, I ordered up the DP Guide one day after taking a quick look at the web site. Having found the book immensely useful, I went back to the site for a longer stay and managed to find the forums. So here I be...
Favorite games -- Definitely Gran Turismo or anything Zelda-related. Overall, though, I'm generally a fan of platformers and driving games. (Still looking for a copy of Test Drive II for Genesis...)
What I collect for -- Well, I'm not deep into collecting at the moment. I have a lot of GameCube games at present, and I'm planning on wrenching an NES and around 40 games from my brother at some point. I've also got a Genesis, Game Boy (both Advance and Color), and my beloved RCA Studio II (currently in non-working order). It was my very first video game experience way back when, so don't laugh! In future, I'd like to have a Super NES (something I wanted as a kid and have never fulfilled) and maybe a ColecoVision (so I can span all the important eras). I have also recently become hooked on Sega Master System stuff, since I picked up a Power Base Converter and some great carts for cheap.
What I do in real life -- Still in school, actually, gradually slacking my way towards a communications degree (hopefully by next year). Besides that, I work at a major retail chain in the electronics department (which basically helps feed my gaming addictions).
Other interesting facts -- My major interest in life is automobiles, which might explain the Gran Turismo fixation. It also explains why I've listed www.mazdaworld.org in my signature; I serve as a moderator/contributor there. (If you own a Mazda or just want to talk cars, feel free to join us!) I'm also a big fan of the Megatokyo webcomic ( www.megatokyo.com ).
Having said all that, I'll sign off!
Duncan :D

Hi!
Who I am: My name is Mark, and I'm 17 years old.
-Where I live: Missouri
-What my favorite games are: Games that blend action and adventure well (Metroid series, Castlevania series etc.), puzzle games (Devil Dice, Tetris Attack, etc.), RPGs and action RPGs (Legend of Zelda, Chrono Trigger, Alundra, etc.) , and shooters (Space Megaforce, Ikaruga, Contra series, etc.). I like other stuff, too. =P
-What systems I collect for: My collection is still very small (I have 196 games at the moment). I currently own: NES (30 games), Super NES (48), Nintendo 64 (23), Game Boy Advance (18, including original Game Boy and GBC games), GameCube (9), PlayStation (53), PlayStation 2 (15), and Game Gear (2; this one needs some serious work. Luckily, my local Slackers CDs and Games has a rather large selection of Game Gear games). I hope to start seriously collecting (games and additional systems. I really want Sega systems... Maybe NEC systems, as well) as soon as I get some money and/or a job.
What I do in real life: I homeschool and I mow lawns for pocket money. I hope to get a job soon.
-How I started collecting: Well, my parents bought an NES in 1987 or 88 (hey, I was a baby! I don't remember). Some of my earliest hazy memories are of playing Super Mario Bros. That was the start of it all. I've played Nintendo for the vast majority of my life, and now I'm looking to broaden my horizons, as I've mentioned.
I hope once I post some more I won't come off as so humorless. :-D

Who you are: Jay M. I am 24 years old.
Where you live: Currently in Inami, Japan but I will soon be returning to Chester, NY
How you found the forums: I was bored one day at work and I did a search for videogame collection pics. It led me here.
What your favorite games are: My favorite game series of all time is Metal Gear, but I like too many games to count. Current obsession: Taiko no tatsujin.
What systems you collect for: Right now I have a NES, SNES, SFC, Cube, Atari 2600, GBA, Dreamcast, Wonderswan, and 2 PS2s (Jap and US). I'm looking to buy more systems when I get back to the states including a TG16 and a C64.
What you do in "real life": At the moment I am a member of the JET Programme "teaching" English in Japan, but I have a 1st class ticket to unemployment come next month when my contract runs out.
Any other interesting facts: Well, my goal is not to collect every game ever made. I don't even care about packaging. I have this idea where I want to create the perfect collection where I can sit there and know I am surrounded by gaming greatness. I have been a gamer since I was about 4 with my C64 and now I am ready to step my addiction up into collecting. It kind of sucks, though, since I already had perfect collections and SOLD everything but my PS2 to do things like pay the rent in college. Now I am buying everything back and enjoying every minute of it. I also recently got engaged to a beautiful woman in Japan who is a closet gamer (loves the Mario-san and FF action) and is helping me reclaim my ultimate collection.

I'm not a hardcore collector like other people. I just tend to buy games that I'd like to play. Due to the fact I have a hard time parting with any game I own, I ended up with a collection spawning hundreds of games. The systems I have numerous games for are PSX, SNES, NES, and DC.

- Who you are
My real name is Alastair and I’m 25 years-old
- Where you live
Close to Birmingham in the UK
- How you found the forums
Just though my usual trawls of the net looking for Console stuff. Wasn’t hard to miss. :D I've actually been a lurker for quite a while. Also post at ASSEMbler (http://assembler.roarvgm.com/) quite a bit.
- What your favorite games are
Halo (I am not ashamed), Streets of Rage series, Bubble Bobble (and it’s sequels to a lesser extent), The New Zealand Story, Tetris…
- What systems you collect for
Focusing mainly on the Sega 8/16bit era though I do plan to branch out at some point. I have a few other non-Sega systems but they’re really only because I got them free somehow or had them and never sold them

Just your usual Nostalgia trip. I was a little disenchanted with the current crop of games and had stopped playing for quite a while. Then one day I decided to get a cheap MegaDrive from eBay and the rest is, as they say, history and a large dent in my savings. My own current (small in the case of many here) collection can be seen here – http://www28.brinkster.com/ahconsoles/ - bare with the site though as it is a free space one.

Hello! My name is Mark (atomicthumbs)! I live in La Crosse, Wisconsin! Yay! I found this forum from finding out how to submit my Room of Doom (which I will in a week or two). I have a real problem of liking most everything (or at the least finding redeemable qualities in bad movies and games) which makes making a favorites list nearly impossible. Some of my favorites include (in no order)...
Bionic Commando (NES) (actually, this is the game I enjoy the most)
Donkey Kong (GB)
Tenchu (PSX)
Phoenix (VCS)
Moon Patrol (TI-99/4A)
Tomb Raider II (PSX)
EarthBound (SNES)
Final Fantasy VI (SNES III version)
Hell, I could go on forever!!!! I'm sure I'm forgetting tons of my favorite games like V-Tetris (VB), Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (PS2) and Dragon Warrior (NES). Can't ramble on forever, so I'll continue...
I collect games for all the systems I have, and I'm on the look out from time to time for systems that I don't have and want (which would be all)...
In real life? Well, I waste away most days at Blockbuster (it's been six long years dealing with the scourge of the civilized world), though I will be going to film school to hopefully make something of myself (I musn't fail. The outcome of failure is too horrible to imagine).
I've been playing video games all my life. I'm only 25, but I've seen and played a lot. My folks had an Atari 2600 and my best friend had a ColecoVision when I was growing up. In 1985, my brother got an NES for christmas (as did most of you). My best friend had a SNES and my other best friend always had anything Sega! Funny... I never owned a system until I was 19 and bought a Sony Playstation. The first game I got for it was Tomb Raider (before the hype). I love that system.
For some reason, I just felt the need to keep collecting. So, gradually, piece by piece, on my own (no parents to buy my xbox), over the last 5 1/2 years, my collection has grown to 29 systems (plus 10 very, very interesting Pong units) and over 1,030 games (everything hooked up to a TV and most split to the 2nd TV). Keep in mind that I also started collecting movies at the same time (I have these two major vices). At the time I started collecting games, I started collecting movies. I now have over 900 vhs and over 150 dvds. Needless to say, it's not easy or cheap collecting both games and movies. I must say, for not being rich or even that well off ( I work at a freaking video store), that this isn't bad for a relative upstart kid with a bad habit of collecting and a love of games!

Dude you don't always have to use caps. So don't. It's like the number one unwritten rule of forums/chat rooms. No you know.
You are the weakest link! goodbye...
LoL no seriously I'm sorry to rag on you about that its just annoying.
Glad to see more new members joining and I hope you have a ton of fun.
ciao.

I understand that :)
I have run several boards in my time online.
I on occasion use CAPS and I understand in 'net-speak' it is considered yelling...but in THAT particular case....I was using caps as contrast to the questions.
I do not like using 'quotes' and going through that hassle. Likewise, if someone asked something in all caps, I would reply in lowercase.

Storm Riding my way into yet another Message Board Forums, I hope this place proves to be cool. I already noticed quite a few names in the members list as either droogs or aquaintaines from the Ng.Com scene, thus I guess I'm late to this party. It'll be nice to have yet another home away from home... I tried the Higher Voltage Community and left it... Tried the GameFaq Community and left it. Thus I hope this place rocks. For those who know me already from my Blitzkreiging of the Internet all I'll say is you know what's up with teh MD20XX... and for those not well versed in the Storm Rider :)
Been gaming a long time now. Since 1984 having owned practically every system ever put out save the Vectrex, FM Towns Marty, GP32, and the Bandai Playdia. Other than that I've owned them (game systems) all at one point or another, though as my "Call Sign" / Handle indicates my true passion is for the Mega Drive / Genesis system that I shall be playing in the year two thousand and (X) something (X) hence MD20XX has arrived!

My 1st system was pong in 1979.My parents then bought us an Atari 2600 not long after.
I began collecting very slow, by simply keeping my old games when I got newer systems.I guess it picked up speed around the time Sega Genesis died
and many quality games could be found for under $5.I always went to flea markets and knew I could find games there. In 1996 I believe,I got a coleco + 9 games for 50 cents.I played the games and enjoyed them.
Ever since that score I'd say, I have been a rabid collector.I found a 2600 Ewok Adventure proto at a thrift store.
