Hey, my name's Adam. I'm a sega-16 refugee. I'm also on segaage and nintendoage. So far I'm digging the site. I collect for mostly sega consoles and nes. I'm a PS3 user, my name is profholt82 on there as well. I don't know what else to say. I'm married and have a daughter. I studied cinema in college, but I work as an insurance claims adjuster now. We all do what we've got to do I guess. Anyway, great site, I especially love the rarity guide. See you on the forums.

Hello, my name's April! I came across the site while trying to find what the "best" TV is for classic gaming. I ended up getting a Sony KV-32XBR200... looks great!

I'm not a collector per se, although I do have a fairly decently sized collection. I mostly just have games that I like. Probably my rarest game is a copy of Ninja Gaiden Trilogy (SNES), in box, with manual. That said, I do have quite a few games from just my years of playing games: BoF II, Chrono Cross/Trigger, Dragon Force, DW VII, E.V.O., FF III, Grim Fandango, Guardian Heroes, The House of the Dead, Legend of Mana, Lunar: The Silver Star (Sega CD), Magic Knight Rayearth, Mars Matrix, Mega Man X3, Secret of Mana, Skies of Arcadia, SM RPG, Thousand Arms, and Xenogears. I really like to spread the love around!

I did write a nice searchable, sortable list (http://www.twoevils.org/html/mygames/) of my games. Oh, and this is where I play them (http://soylentmean.livejournal.com/104371.html). Life is good!

Hello. I live in the UK and been collecting for about 2 years. Collect mostly Sega Mega Drive/CD/32x but someone gave me a GBA and so now have an ever expanding Game Boy collection as well with a few Master System and NES games.

Registered here as could not get my Sega-16 fix. Favourite games are any 2D castlevania games, and would like one day to own all of them:)

Hi,

My name is Mike, I'm from Pennsylvania (near Hershey). I found this forum by searching around on the internet, as I was looking for a gaming forum for a little while that allowed some trading/buying/selling and where people had knowledge of video game systems, games ect. I have many favorite games, for current generations systems I like, MW2, GOW, MLB the show, Alan Wake. For retro systems I like, Secret of Mana, Mario Bros (who doesn't), Chrono Trigger, Lufia, Banjo Tooie, Conkers ect. I own every "main frame"
system from 2600-PS3. I own some of the rare more fly by night systems too. So I collect anything that catches the eye. In real life im a 22 yr old college student studying in business administration. I play 2 sports in college (football, baseball) and play other recreation sports in the summer. Games are my down time away from studies, work and athletics. I began collecting when searching ebay back when I was 16 and realizing some of the games I owned were worth more now then I payed for them new :). I had arguably one of the most complete North American SNES collections in the country (Im sure of it) in 2008. However I sold that on ebay to pay for most of my first year college. Im still rebuilding my collection there but it is tough. I'm always will to trade (after the 10 day period) or buy if the price is right.

Thanks alot for reading!

I haven't updated it in about 3 weeks, so it is missing a few pieces. (Read as: a shoe box full of randomness)

I heard about this website from someone working at my favourite retro gaming store.

My favourite games would have to be:
Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic for Xbox
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie for Game Boy
Resident Evil 3 for PlayStation 1
Resident Evil Code: Veronica X for PlayStation 2
The Legend Of Zelda: Oracle Of Ages for Game Boy Color

I collect for all the consoles I have:
Nintendo Entertainment System
Super Nintendo Entertainment System
Nintendo 64
Nintendo GameCube
Nintendo Wii
Nintendo Game Boy
Nintendo Game Boy Color
Nintendo Game Boy Advance
Nintendo DS
Nintendo 3DS
Sega Master System
Sega Genesis
Sony PlayStation 1
Sony PlayStation 2
Sony PlayStation Portable
Microsoft Xbox
Microsoft Xbox 360
Atari 2600

My collection is currently somewhere over 700 games. I began collecting when I recieved my Game Boy Colour back in 1998 with Donkey Kong Land and soon afterwards Pokemon Blue Version. But I didn't start seriously collecting until about 2007.

Hello Everyone!

I'm Nostalgia Hunter and I'm a video game hunter. I love the rush I get when I find a rare game at a Goodwill and Swapmeet. It's almost orgasmic. I have a blog on tumblr (link is in the signature) and I'm mostly a SNES and NES collector. I'm looking forward to this place. Thanks for reading!

Hello, my name is Gregory, and I live in Lexington, KY. I am 36 and work for the government in Computer Services. I work with databases for Parks and Rec and Risk Management. Except for weds, that is my favorite day. On Weds, I get to ride my skateboard around the parking lot of Waste, and fix XP machines mounted in all the dump trucks. Weds is awesomel.

I used to collect vintage games a LOT. I had a pretty nice collection, but I have pieced it off since becoming a father and a homeowner. I do still love to play vintage games however and found this site looking for like minded individuals.

Hey, my names Robert!

Live in warm, hot, then cold, then scorching hot Cali

Found these forums years ago, but never registered (used other gaming sites, but I have a feeling I will adapt well here)

Any Zelda game is my favorite, but outside of the Zelda realm, I would say Final Fantasy VII is my favorite RPG.

I have a nice collection started and will continue collecting from all sorts of different consoles, just check my sig for my items!

Web Developers have some much stress to deal with. I think I want to become a Game Developer now...

I restarted collecting once I figured out I had a bunch of rare games and items when I was younger. I really messed up and to redeem myself, I am collecting everything and anything I can!

Thanks for the warm welcoming! :)

Hey there. I'm Chris. The GBA is the most current system I own, so... I guess I'll be lurking the Classic Gaming section a lot. It's not that I'm an elitist when it comes to video games, and only play old ones... it's just that I'm kind of poor, and all. Oh well.

Anyway, see you fellows on the boards.

Hey. I'm really bad at these, but I'll give it a shot. :)

My name's Mike, I'm from Northern Virginia. I stumbled onto this forum from YouTube in one of Little Miss Gamer's video descriptions. I've been sort of forum crawling looking for some good retro gaming communities.

I'm not a physical collector per se, just an avid retro gamer, nostalgiac and video game enthusiast.

Nice to meetcha! I hope to make some friends here.

Name: D.F.
Age: 25

My story:
When I was growing up, there was an Atari in my parents' bedroom (around 1989 or 1990), but I didn't understand what it was, as mom was typing some things on the TV screen.

Later growing up, I started to play the NES, but by the time I was 7, I could never understand how to play Pac-Man. Curious, I ask my cousin who was about 10 or 11 at the time what the Ghosts do. "They're trying to kill you!" she shouted. I wasted all my lives figuring out what to do - and I regret that now.

December 25, 1993 was when a first in my life came - my first video game system was a SEGA Genesis with Sonic the Hedgehog 2. As years passed up to 1996, I got the rest of the Sonic titles up to 3D Blast (except for Flicky, Ristar or Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine). Around 1994 or 1995, I received Tecmo Super Bowl II: Special Edition, but get this--it was a Japanese Megadrive cartridge that required a converter to play on an American Genesis. I also had a cartridge from 1994, X-Men, but lost it in Maryland (I don't know if someone borrowed it and never returned it, or was lost altogether). I made some mistakes with video game consoles along the way until 2004 when I got a PlayStation 2 as a high school graduation present that came with ATV Offroad Fury 2. I still have this memory of waking up early one weekend around 1995 or 1996 to see my dad playing Ms. Pac-Man on the Genesis--when I woke up, he had just cost Ms. Pac-Man her last life and got a Game Over!

But then disaster struck in 1995 with a minigame from the Genesis version of Cosmic Spacehead--the bumper car race. I didn't know what I was doing, getting the yellow car into the hole, running out of time, leaving me so frustrated. This kind of explains why most of my games right now are filled with cars--as I learned how to drive better with Ridge Racer Revolution on the PS1 and Daytona USA on the Saturn around 1996-97...until the day Gran Turismo arrived. The "driving" weakness was history after that.

Right now I own a PlayStation 2 and 3 and happily enjoying them. I've been a fan of the PlayStation lineup since 1996.

I am also working on a video gaming writing project called Insert Coin as well, which chronicles young people and veterans who have at least one love of video gaming trying to stop an evil competitor known as Player 4 (inspired by arcade gaming great Billy Mitchell), who is bent on corrupting every video game tournament and exhibition around the world.

Then again, my video gaming adventure is not over...

I'm Chris and the old NES sports games like Tecmo Bowl and RBI Baseball rock! I also enjoy many other games such as just about any of the Star Wars games.

Let us begin.

My name's Cass, and I'm from Charlotte, NC! Well, Greensboro to be precise, but I'm living in Charlotte now to finish college.
I found the forums a year or so back looking up information on NES/ SNES clones. Been just a lurker up to now.
My tastes have never been too crazy. Basically, if it's Nintendo, I'm probably into it. Though my favorite series are probably Legend of Zelda and Mother/ Earthbound.
I don't really collect for any other reason than to play. I'm mostly making up for lost time. I didn't get an NES until right before the Nintendo 64 was released, and never had a Super NES. After the 64, I owned most every major system, though I believe I've established myself as more of a Sony and Nintendo fan. In any case, so I started collecting NES & Super NES games when I was in 11th grade, and have been doing so since. Bit too elaborate eh?
In any case, right now I'm just a political science/ English student and cashier at a local record store.
I began collecting when I inherited my cousin's NES/ SNES/ Genesis collection, along with his respective consoles.

Hey everybody.

- I live in the USA.

- I used to browse the forums pretty regularly back in the day, but haven't really visited much (at all?) in the past 5+ or so years. I don't believe I ever posted too much at all, to be honest. I think the email I probably signed up with back then is now so flooded with spam that it is most likely bordering on unusable. So... Hopefully I will be a better user now!

- Favorite game is Super Mario Bros. 3.

- I collect for arcade, Famicom, and (going to be collecting) GameBoy. Pretty much Japanese stuff only.

- I've been collecting since maybe middle school/high school or thereabouts. I stopped over the past few years, which is why I stopped visiting here.

I guess I've never properly introduced myself. I'm Suikoman444 and I'm 21 studying Actuarial Science in Columbus, Ohio.
I collect RPGs, it is my favorite genre and what I play the most. My first RPGs were things like Super Mario RPG, Pokemon Red, and Dragon Warrior Monsters. My most prized possession is Suikoden II, but not for it's monetary value. It is my favorite game of all time.
My long term goal is to collect every console RPG, and I feel like I've made some good progress as I have some of the heavy wallet hitters and have only been seriously collecting for a couple years.

I found this site through Google, looking for a good video gaming forum. Looking forward to being here for a while.

Hi guys, I'm actually a member of RF generation, and I've been using this site for a while to look things up, I just found the forums a few minutes ago while googling something.

Off the top of my head the game series I've playing through the most games of and enjoyed are:

Metal Gear Solid(MGS: The Twin Snakes, MGS2, MGS3).
Devil May Cry(DMC 1, DMC 3, DMC 4)
Hitman(Blood Money, Contracts)
Blood(Shareware of the first game, Blood II/Nightmare Levels)
Assassin's Creed(ACI, ACII)
Resident Evil(RE4, RE5, RE: Dead Aim)
CSI(CSI: Crime Scene Ivestigation, Dark Motives, Hard Evidence)

Some of the one off modern games I can think of are Ghostbusters(360), Eat Lead, Fallout 3, and X-men Origins: Wolverine

As for retro games I haven't played many recently aside from beat em' ups on MAME do to only getting a game room to have it all out of storage recently, but I remember a few game from when I was a kid(I haven't played all the way through them, I wasn't that great at games as a kid)

LoZ: A Link to the Past(SNES)
Zombies Ate My Neighbors(Genesis)
Comix Zone(PC, Sega Smash Pack)
Shining Force(PC, Sega Smash Pack)
Streets of Rage(Genesis)
Pokemon Blue(Gameboy)
Pokemon Crystal(GBC)
Earthworm Jim(SNES)
Animaniacs(Genesis)
Tiny Toon Adventures(SNES)
Mega Man X(SNES)
Super Mario World(SNES)

I'm also a Sonic fan, but more of the cartoons and the character's then the games(there still fun though)

I guess I do have some interesting facts about myself. I live in Iowa, and sometimes I do have a bit of "redneck" side(most notable in my taste in music, movies, clothes, ect)
I'm the only 18(almost 19) year old I know that likes country music, or has lot of my taste in music for that matter, my Last.FM (http://www.last.fm/user/shoboni)

Do to buying a lot of used video tapes, I remember alot of cartoons and movies from the 80s.

Oh, I almost the about how I got starting collecting. I started gaming on Sega Genesis, and Atari 7800 as a kid, then my sister game me her SNES later.
The first time I had a recent system was when I got a PS2 when I was around 12

My biggest collection is my PS2 Collect(over 300 games) but I also collect Sega Genesis, SNES, N64, PS1, GC, Xbox/360, Gameboy/GBC and a few others, you can see my full collection here:

Hey all. Someone who knows my tastes recommended I visit here, so here I am. I'm a mad keen collector of retro games, and although my collection is in its infancy, I still have around 19 or so consoles, lots of handhelds, games etc. I'm loving it.

It's a crazy ride down memory lane, tangled in controller cords and weighed down by Neo Geo AES carts. Some people have a Gameboy here, a couple of NES carts there. Me, I won't be content until I'm buried under the weight of circa 1990's and older PCBs and semi-working Commodore 64 paddles.

Yeah, that's just how I roll.

You can check my full collection out here - http://mygurumeditation.wordpress.com/2011/07/02/a-collectors-story-in-pictures-again/

But it's growing all the time. Like a living being.... that's almost creepy, isn't it? Anyway, I'm a huge fan of fighting games, particularly older versions of the Street Fighter / Mortal Kombat franchise, and of course that's why I own a Neo Geo AES :). I'm also dead keen on anything Amiga because I grew up suckling on what I still consider to be the greatest computer ever made, the A500 (then A2000HD with it's deadly 52MB hard drive).

Looking forward to being a part of this little slice o' the web.

Hey everyone. I just recently rediscovered NES, nostalgia of my childhood brought me back around to it. I've owned atari, NES, sega, N64, and a Dream Cast. Nothing after those however. I prefer the NES most of all and it is the only system I currently own.

Haven't been here for 2 and a half months. The place looks good...and confusing, though I'll always be in favour of meseta as currency. I recall there were some good people here (no, I wasn't one of them); now if I can only recall which they were. Anyway, good to be back, welcome or not.

Hobbies: Collecting Game Systems

Started by reliving my childhood picking up an Atari 2600 with some games at a flea market turned into a obession of a wall of consoles. As of now we have around 25 systems and growing. Our last find has been a Neo Geo and I have just started posting them up on a wall on facebook as "The Video Game Collector".

We are blest to live a walking distance from the Digital Press Store so getting games for these sytems are easy to come by.

I have been here now for about 3 years now and just noticed i have never introduced myself. I am am from Indiana and have been collecting for 6 years. I have over 30 systems. I mostly collect nintendo stuff. I have over 400 snes games and almost 500 nes games. I am only missing 3 virtual boy games (I have jack bros.). I absolutely love this website. It has the best members. The reason I started collecting is because classic games are so much better than the newer stuff

Hello from Australia everyone

I've been collecting video games since the NES days. Unfortunately, my house was robbed and I lost pretty much everything; NES, SNES and a famicom.

Since then, I've focused mainly on sony with a few sega and nintendo games here and there.

My favourite game of all time is Metal gear solid 3, followed very closely by Mass effect 2. Not very retro I know, but if I had to pick a Retro game, it would have to be Terranigma on the Snes

looking foward to meeting everyone

Hello from Denmark. Found this forum via a link on another forum, to a sales thread with a modded Sega Saturn - because I'm looking to broaden my gaming horizon with some Sega action.

I have mostly been collecting arcade games until now - but have an okay NES and SNES collection from my console only days. Have a handfull of old classic original arcade machines and a couple of JAP candy cabs + ~100 PCBs and ~120 MVS games.

The Saturn games (especially all the JAP ones) seem very interesting, and I've bought about 30 games the last couple of weeks, without having any console to play the games on  .

So the first priority for me is to find a region+50/60hz modded Saturn in Europe and an arcade stick (pref. the Hori Saturn one). If anyone has something that could be of interrest, please shoot me a message.

Could be me that is blind but have I overlooked the buy/sell/trade forum, or isn't it open for new users to access?

Enough of me talking, just wanted to say hello and that I'm looking forward to be a member of this forum.

G'day, people-types. I'm a long-haired idiot from Britain. I've recently acquired a NES modified to play games from all territories, only it has no cables, controllers, or games. If anyone happens to know where I can find some cheaply or has some for sale, please let me know.

HI! im Bryant, im 14. I have a LOT of video games (Atari 2600, NES, N64, GCN, Wii, GBC, GBA(2), GBASP, DSi, 3DS, and a lot of games for all of these :D) I LOVE Sonic, and Mario, know everything about them. Im modding my GBC and GBA and my Atari is broke and missing an ac cord, so Im working on it a little. In "real life", i make games in gamemaker, im not that great though, mostly because I never finnish anything...
i almost never speak in real life, but as you can see, i talk a LOT online. :)
Im hoping to get the Nintendo sytems im missing soon, and then get some sega ones. I know L33T and other codes, and im also learning japanese.

I decided I might as well post an introduction since I've been meaning to be more active on the DP forums for the past year or so. I used to post a bit years and years ago, and I'm very happy to admit that I've grown much more mature since then. Hopefully this introduction can serve as a fresh start!

Anyway, I'm Nick, and I live in north NJ. I've been gaming since I was but a wee lad, and continue today. I've got a soft spot for fighting games good and bad (but not as bad as Shaq Fu), 2D platformers, and games similar to Metal Slug. I love the aesthetic of a lot of consoles probably more than playing games on them. Not to downplay the games, but something about the design of a lot of consoles is incredibly fascinating to me. I've also been working at the Digital Press store for just about 11 months now as well. If you come by early in the week, chances are that I'll be working there.

Hello everyone,
I wanted to introduce myself so I'm not that guy "creepin in the back".

First of all, my name is Bill, I'm 26 and live (currently) in Denver. I'm married with a beautiful 1 1/2yr old daughter. I found the forums a long while back, trying to find some resource for putting a price on my old games. I really don't have any favorite game per say, I do enjoy FPS'ers, NBA Jam and the first NFL Blitz. I'm not much of an RPG fan, although I do collect them, I find I don't have the patience for most of them.

I collect for damned near anything, except Game Gear (don't really care), and Nintendo DS. Most of the mainstream stuff anyway, the oddball (Vectrix, ect) I tend to stay away from, because it can become really pricey.

In real life I'm an Assistant Fabrication Manager for a metal shop, basically the shop b!tch and babysitter for 8 grown men. I do everything from meanial tasks to cutting with plasma torches (yes they are a real thing), welding, and driving a semi tractor.

I began collecting because my wife was unemployed and pregnant, and I needed some extra money. So I started selling some older games that were loose or what have you, and did okay. So then I took it a step further and started flipping things on eBay. Now they have both turned into a horrible disease, I cannot stop collecting and/or flipping and as you can guess, one feeds the fire for the other and vis-versa.

My loves are family, video games and technology, cars in general (concentrations in VWs and Mopar), and firearms (America F--- Yeah!)

I'm good with languages (I'm a native Texan and fluent in English and Spanish, not the other way around) studied German and Japanese, and I'm a closet Anime nerd (used to attend A-Kon and Quakecon regularly)

Anyway, I'm hoping to do alot of trading on the board, as opposed to selling as we mostly know what the games are worth and I have some oddballs, swag, and other memorabilia that needs to find a home.

Hello everyone! I've played games my entire life but only started collecting 2 weeks ago. I enjoy going to thrift stores, flea markets and yard sales looking for good finds.

I don't enjoy buying from ebay because it takes away from the hunt (but I have only been collecting for two weeks so that may change eventually.)

I love to collect anything N64/dreamcast or older. In the two weeks since I started I have collected over 300 old games from odyssey 2 to N64 (even some vectrex.

I was inspired to start collecting when I realized I had an unopened, sealed original Duck Hunt and Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego.

So far I feel like i have been getting really lucky from finding lots for really cheap at flea markets to finding Earthbound at a thrift store for 4$. If anyone knows any great flea markets/thrift shops in the Northern Virginia/DC Area that I should check out, let me know.

My favorite games are the exploration/adventure types, elder scrolls ect. One of note, for nes, is called Legacy of Wizard. I just love how you can choose from multiple characters and then explore a world with no direction. I know I'll probably never finish it since its so cryptic, but it's still fun and amazing a game like this existed then. (if anyone knows any more like this, let me know)

Hello all. I'm a mid-30's gamer-geek from the Pacific Northwest. I've been loving video games ever since I got an Atari 2600 in 1980 (Space War!). Now I've been seriously collecting for about 3 years, but dealing for close to 10. I love my old school clunkers, pong machines included. This month, I got my first Wii, so I guess I'm now in the 7th gen, just in time for 8! My favorites to play are SMS, Atari 2600, Sega Saturn and Dreamcast. My collection is entirely different, I have some rare dogs that I only dust off every now and again (Have any of you ever played Buster Douglas on the SMS?), and those are my favorites to collect.

I am a father, and a dealer of old rare 'junk', mostly video games. I play guitar, have a medical card (for you know what), and spend the majority of my time looking for rare additions to my collection. A local friend of mine clued me into this forum, and one look at the 'spider-web of wires' quote on the home page, and I signed up. Looking forward to exchanging ideas, info, trading, and just having an army of fellow geeks to show off my toys to. Glad to be here!

- Where you live
I'm from Birmingham, Alabama. Born and raised here and fucking love it.

- How you found the forums
I became interested in collecting older games and found it in a google search pertaining to collecting old NES games.

- What your favorite games are
This is a tough one for me. I love so many games.. I guess Ocarina of Time, COD 2(I had a wonderful experience with the ASS clan on the 1.0 server so I'm a bit biased towards the game despite the popular preference for COD1), KOTOR, FF Tactics Advance, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night(the gba port), Pokemon(loved most of the games(first of which was Blue version), despite how gimmicky and poorly developed they can be)), and ADOM(Ancient Domains of Mystery).

- What systems you collect for
I just started collecting, but the systems I'm most interested in collecting for are the Genesis, Dreamcast, NES, and SNES.

- Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc.
Well, I started my gaming career when I got the N64 for Christmas when I was 8 years old(1999). My first game was Donkey Kong 64 and that was followed by Ocarina of Time. After that I received the GameCube as a birthday present(I wanted it because I loved Nintendo and their handhelds), because of the disappointment from lack of decent GC games(except Windwaker and a few others, that game was fun as shit) I became a pc gamer. I've played pc games almost exclusively since I bought KOTOR(bought 2004 or 2005). Love pc games, but recently I've been more interested in enjoying the console classics I missed out on from lack of money and my age.

Something I've realized over the years is that I really really like 2d graphics and I FUCKING HATE when a friend of mine says one of my games has shit graphics JUST FOR BEING 2D!!! Being the big 2d gaming fan I am I've started playing more and more classic NES and SNES games. I only just started collecting when I found this site. I don't have a lot of games yet, but I probably will once I find all the games I'm seriously interested in. I've become a strong believer in the idea graphics come second to gameplay. I've also become disillusioned with modern gaming with the FPS obsession. I love FPS gaming, but I don't want to buy the same fucking game 12 times just with different titles. Recently i have had the pleasure of beating Super Mario and Super Castlevania IV.

Other than games my main interests revolve around history and politics(I'm far-left and I will leave it at that).

Edit: Had a few typos from, uhhhh, drunkenness. Not sure of rules on mention of such.

Hey everyone! When I first joined today I acutally didn't notice this topic as I was still half-asleep.

My name is Aryoshi (you can pronounce are-yoshi or ay-are-yoshi) or better yet, simply Mike. I just turned 21 on the 23rd and that marks my 20th year of gaming, though I don't remember the actual date I did play my first game of course, all I remember is that I played my first at age one xD;

I currently live in Alaska, the worst place you could live right now. I'm very unhappy saying that and, in fact, it's almost an embarassment to say it. Luckily I'll be moving to California hopefully soon, and from there, Florida. I suppose it's a good place up here for visits but whoever wants to live here is out of their goddamn mind. The winters are inhuman too, and no, it doesn't snow year-round :P I do live in an igloo though, I made an outlet out of ice and polar bear fat, and I built my own internet using a radio. Riiiight. Can you believe people have seriously asked me if I do live in an igloo!? And they weren't kidding either.

Digital Press.. I honestly can say I don't remember how I found it, but I know I found it a long time ago. I think I discovered it looking at a "top games" list trying to get some suggestions for a certain console, can't remember. I started exploring the website a little and looked into the interviews which I thought were all purely awesome. Checking all the other stuff out, I was happy with what I saw, but I didn't really look much into the forums. This morning, I looked on Google for a "top 20 Colecovision games" list and one of the first links took me here, so I dove in to take a look and loved what suggestions I saw. I finally decided to join, the community seemed very nice to me and everyone here seems to know their stuff about the retro age of games, I love meeting fellow retro fans.

I have many different favorite games but I suppose I can list off a few! In fact, I'll give my top 15.
1: Super Mario Bros. 3
2: Dragon Quest III
3: Final Fantasy VI
4: The Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past
5: Mega Man 3
6: Yoshi's Island
7: Bubble Bobble
8: Tetris Attack
9: The Guardian Legend
10: Star Control 2
11: Secret of Mana
12: Castlevania III
13: The "Strike" series on the Genesis (Jungle/Urban/Desert Strike)
14: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project
15: Road Rash 3

I tend to focus collecting on the NES and the SNES, but I also pick up an Atari game or two. Sometimes outside of my retro collection I'll pick up a PSX game or a couple of PS2 games and I have quite a collection on my 360, both on disc and downloaded games. I own close to 150 NES games and I have a shoebox full of SNES games. I'm currently especially focusing on collecting every NES and SNES RPG out there, ones outside of America I'm collecting as reproduction carts, currently waiting on Tales of Phantasia. Very hard task considering a lot of SNES RPGs aren't cheap at all, but it'll be worth it in the end I'm sure.

Outside of gaming, I have a fiance who loves her horses just as much as I love my games. We've finally begun taking more of an interest in eachother's passions and started communicating more and more about them. I play the piano, sometimes guitar, often recorder and I sing quite a bit. The recorder I picked up because of Final Fantasy VI actually, I loved the music so much I wanted to learn it, so far so good! I am a Mountain Dew addict to the extreme, I swear that stuff's going to kill me someday. Hey, nothing wrong with dying with a smile on your face, right? I love to cook, moreso for other people than myself, and people seem to love my cooking as well. One of my other greatest passions is writing, I mostly write poetry focused around either psychedelia, Medieval and apocalyptic settings. As for myself, people think of me as a hippy in many ways (probably the hair that goes down to my lower-back, my aviators and tie-dye headband and the music I listen to) but I do admit, a lot of my views and opinions are hippylike. Wouldn't want it any other way! Music is a big part of my life as well, my favorites being Syd Barrett, Tears for Fears, Pet Shop Boys, The Cure, Cream/Eric Clapton, basically anything from the 60s and the 80s.

The first game I ever played was Super Mario Bros., had a great start! I can't remember exactly what inspired me to begin collecting, but it was probably that I loved and still love games so much that I just simply cannot get enough of them, regardless of how many I have that I need to beat. I am NOT a hoarder damn it!! Now, excuse me while I go sleep a little bit. Pleased to meet you all! I'm very happy to be a part of the community.

Hello everyone!

I'm not exactly new, I have been posting on here with a different user name since earlier this year but for several (non-nefarious) reasons I want to disassociate that name from the forum/business side of gaming.

I'm a longtime Nintendo fan but switched over to the PlayStation side of things after the N64 proved to be a huge disappointment in terms of RPG titles. I'm mainly interested in the NES, SNES, and PlayStation although I'm trying to branch out into the dark side of Sega. If the extent of my gaming knowledge were represented as a map, it would say "here be dragons" all around Sega Land. I will play just about any genre of game as long as it was good for the time and has something new to offer.

I originally found this forum after I saw Gamester81's video of his visit to the Digital Press store on YouTube. I'm from the western third of New York, as you could guess from my user name, and my favorite video game is Final Fantasy VI.

I was looking for a way to say hello but didn't wanted to force a stupid reply so i thought writing a line or two here would be the best thing to do.

Well, i ended up here because i was bored and searched for "gamestop is evil" and on page 2 i clicked on a link that took me to THIS (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39747) topic. It seemed to be mostly about retro games and i was feeling "homey" so i decided to stay for now.

I got my first GameBoy when i was about six, still can remember it like yesterday. Last year i decided to rekindle that love and bought a GBA and this year it turned into a collecting-thing, my still small collection is now growing out of it's shoebox and i'm building it a new home, more about this soon i guess. The GB i got when i was 6 still works, even though the display is quite a mess. :)
