I just had a guy call me. I bought some things from this guy before though this was an odd call. He has a Super Nintendo, Dreamcast, N64, and games for all. He's willing to sell to me for $10 because they are a dime a dozen....this seems odd to me. Any thoughts on dealing with this type of call?
Take a nice big burly muscular friend, a loaded gun, and go get the stuff. :D

Does that mean I can pay his stupid $200 price with photocopied money?

Or I offer him $20 and tell him I won't go to the authorities with his blatant advertising of piracy? lol.

Alright, the day finally happened, my Sega Genesis finally died, kaput finitio. Now I am left with quite a few Sega Games. Some titles include Sonic the Hedgehog (the original), Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Little Mermaid, Shadowrun, LHX Attack Chopper and many more. There are 15 titles in all and the price is $10 for each game or $100 for the entire bundle...will go as low at $75 for the entire bundle.
Wow, $10 each on some common Genesis games. The only one that I think that's worth it is Shadowrun. ( I think, maybe)

I see your point, but I probably would have done the same thing she did. Unfortunately for the people who keep their word about picking stuff up, their are so many jerks out there that say they want something but never come to pick up, that sellers really can't hold onto stuff hoping the potential buyer picks it up.
When I was selling on CL (I quit because of the constant no shows and lowballers) I stated in my ad that the first to pick up would get it, not necessarily the first to email me.
Although, if it was a matter of waiting a couple hours for you to pick up, then I would just give the buyer the benefit of the doubt and wait for them to pick up.

Last week a guy flaked on me for something I was selling, ($25 item) he told me to call his house and ask for him. I did, and nobody answered. Then some woman answered and the phone hung up. Calls after that were ignored. Emails, ignored. I passed off 3 people because he said he was close by. What a lie. So I put his email in a email bomber application and blew up his email inbox. 2 hours later my cell phone rings and what'ya know it's him. I didn't answer. Checked voicemail. 1 new. Guy was screaming his lungs out saying who prank called from this number blah blah blah. He's the one who wanted me to call, to setup a time, and I did, and nobody answered. I ended up selling it to someone else but what a fucking pain. It takes me about 3 weeks to sell. I got tired of shit like this happening when I sell and buy. People not showing up, asking is it still available and then dissapearing, extreme crack head lowballers, crazy trade offers, losers pranking your phone, etc. I just said the hell with it. Try selling stuff and you'll see just how many bastard flakes there are around you. It gets old when you're selling something at an absolute steal and people STILL wanna haggle. Dude, make up your fucking mind and stop beating around the bush. Don't embarass me at work saying "oh uh yeah um ugh....i'll ugh be there at 6 ok what was the price again can you read the ad again i uh forgot what it was you said you were gonna sell it for lower....." CLICK.
That was the last time I used craigslist (week ago). Common courtesy is the exception nowadays rather then the rule.

I have some tires up for sale on craigslist. Right off the bat 3 people calling asking if they are still available, I was like yeah they are. All 3 asked if I would go down in price. I just want them gone so I told them $50 for the set of four then they went silent over the phone they told me they would call back. Set of 4 wheels for a Honda Civic for $50 can't beat that anywhere.....quick rant.

what i hate is people who offer ridiculous trades, especially when you don't say anything about being interested in trading.
a year ago when i was selling my 2004 nissan titan i put it up on craigslist for $12500 firm (at the time the closest price to that on craigslist was $15k for a similar truck, i just needed cash and was trying to sell it quick).
some guy emails me and says he has some old 1980's chevy pickup that hadn't been running for years and was sitting in his backyard. he said if i fixed it up i could get $20k or more. he sends a picture with it and it's seriously the biggest pile of junk i'd ever seen. i pretty much just laughed at him and told him in so many words that his offer was insulting.
he replies, all worked up, saying he knows what it's worth and some guy offered him a harley davidson for it but he held out because he wanted two and blah blah blah a whole bunch of gibberish.... tells me he's offering me a sweet deal and i'm the one benefiting from this.
laugh at him again, tell him no. he replies and says he wants to "settle up". he wants me to come to his trailer court and "scrap".
what a joke. at least craigslist can be entertaining...

This is the email bomber program I was talking about. You need to use a gmail account to do the attack. Make a gmail account, put the username and password in, and type your message and the victims email. It says how many messages it sends, it should stop when it hits about 1,000 or so.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=H3Q90TN3
here's a youtube video for it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAmH8ldhWls
you can test it out by making an extra email wherever but for the sending you need a gmail.

lol you can't get in trouble for posting addresses and phone numbers... that's nothing you can't find elsewhere on the net if you looked.

I'm gonna have to say no to that one.
So they can also sue Google and Yahoo for having their info and giving it out? What about any of those people search sites?
There is nothing private about addresses and phone numbers; period.

what i hate is people who offer ridiculous trades, especially when you don't say anything about being interested in trading.
a year ago when i was selling my 2004 nissan titan i put it up on craigslist for $12500 firm (at the time the closest price to that on craigslist was $15k for a similar truck, i just needed cash and was trying to sell it quick).
some guy emails me and says he has some old 1980's chevy pickup that hadn't been running for years and was sitting in his backyard. he said if i fixed it up i could get $20k or more. he sends a picture with it and it's seriously the biggest pile of junk i'd ever seen. i pretty much just laughed at him and told him in so many words that his offer was insulting.
he replies, all worked up, saying he knows what it's worth and some guy offered him a harley davidson for it but he held out because he wanted two and blah blah blah a whole bunch of gibberish.... tells me he's offering me a sweet deal and i'm the one benefiting from this.
laugh at him again, tell him no. he replies and says he wants to "settle up". he wants me to come to his trailer court and "scrap".
what a joke. at least craigslist can be entertaining...
Wait he wanted to fight you?

Haven't seen any noteworthy local ones in a while, until today:
http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/ele/1236938178.html
I suppose the price isn't wholly unreasonable since it comes with 6 DS games as well as 6 GBA's. What struck me as funny was that how the seller argues that addition of screen protectors - practically obligatory for all DS owners - somehow sustains the original retail value of the device.
I also like how the accessory listed right after the "Super Nice Pink Carrying Pouch" is a "Red Caring Pouch With Strap" :?. It reminds me of when my daughter was in 1st grade and I'd help with her homework but get frustrated sometimes with her misspelling and (in my mind) sarcastically observe that the word she just wrote down incorrectly did not have a new official spelling assigned in the two minutes since she last wrote the word correctly on the line above it :frustrated:.
Or maybe, even though the pink pouch is "super nice", the red pouch is better, because it cares.
And of course, the whole ad is made even better by...

You PayPal me (PayPal only, natch) $20, I email you the redemption code for 4000 360 Live points. Riiiiiiiiiight.....
Why didn't I even think of this? Oh, right, because I'm not a scam artist.
EDIT - I just emailed him and offered $30 cash today for both cards, but he has to give them to me face-to-face. I'll drive wherever I have to, to meet him. Let's see what comes of it.

If you think that's bad, don't go on Amazon or Ebay and look up Sega Moonwalker. $100 for cart only? Really? Here's hoping people come to their senses in a few days...

What sucks is I've actually been wanting Moonwalker for awhile and trying to find it at a decent price (I don't do cart only anymore usually, so that doesn't help). But that game was stupidly expensive before and now it's even more stupidly expensive. *sigh*
