I would be surprised if any of those sealed SNES games went for more than $20 apiece. They're not terribly rare or desirable.

For Sale- My personal SNES system with all hook-ups, 2 controllers and 17 games. All games come with clear plastic cartridge sleeves. I would prefer that this go to a serious collector who knows the value of such a collection. Hence the steep price. I do not want to sell any games individually. But i have put prices next to each in case someone is looking to fill-in or complete a serious collection. These games are very rare and have taken a lot of money, time and effort to put together. Selling individual games will lessen the value of the complete set, so they are quite spendy. Please call Jack @ 971-983-7177. Aside from the system working like a charm, the games are:
Super Mario World---$45
Super Mario Kart---$45
Super Mario All-Stars---$45
Castlevania Dracula X- Very Rare!!!---$65
King Arthur and the knights of justice-Very Rare!!!---$85
X-men: Mutant Apocalypse---$25
Super Black Bass---$25

Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts---$25
King of Dragons---$65

Mega Man X2---$85
Hagane- Very rare and expensive!!!---$140
U.N. Squadron---$25
Spiderman and the X-Men: Arcade's Revenge---$35
The Legend of Zelda: A link to the past---$65

This reminds me of last weekend when I hit a few garage sales. I found an SP for $2. Bought it no questions asked. Next sale I went to had one priced at $35 with games or $25 without. I told the lady I am not interested. She told me you'll never find a better deal then this...So with that note I walked to the car grabbed the SP from the last sale to show her. Well that made her quiet.

Wow only $800 that sounds like a great deal!!!! I've been looking for a ps3 for awhile and the ones by me are all $299 and under. Yours must be really rare since it's $800 dollars. i mean even ebay has them for $299 for the same 80gb but i guess yours is super special. and i get a free game! this sounds great. i would assume for that price that you would hand deliver it in white gloves, since it's rare and all i wouldn't want anything to happen to it. please give me a call 206- 622-0460 I am very interested in this. it's people like you who save the rest of us from getting ripped off by scammers on ebay. thank you for being so thoughtful person to sell your rare ps3 80gb, i don't know where i would have found one cheaper!!!

This dude has certainly lost his grip on reality (http://baltimore.craigslist.org/vgm/1343757179.html). Here's a highlight from his ad:
You are looking at one of the largest collection of vintage video game systems for sale in their original boxes in the United States. This is a set of 6 Game consoles which are 100% complete, and also come with the most sought after games for each system in that era.
In the next 5 years this set could easily sell for double or triple what you pay for it.
He's also charging $1200 for this lot so he thinks they will magically jump up to $2400 or $3600 in the next half decade. Considering I got a similiar lot of systems(PS1, Nes, Snes, X-Eye, 3DO) on craigs list with many more games a few years ago and only paid $150 for it, I'd say this guy needs a healthy dose of common sense.

I'd say it should probably be brought down $30-$40 for it to be priced for Craigslist, but it is a pretty good deal. I mean you are getting a lot of boxes and some harder to find games. Plus the Top Loader is probably worth $60-$80 (depending on where you look) so with the box it is probably around $100. If he wanted $250 or higher he probably should've gone Ebay. I'm guessing the seller is looking for a quick sale (well actually a Wii if you look at the bottom).
The WoW sales are laughable, but amazingly they usually do sell. If Blizzard really wanted to evil though they could hire "spies" to intercept sales of accounts and ban the users who are selling accounts. It is against their EULA to do this, so they have the ability to ban accounts for being sold. Plus if they sellers are stupid enough to use their e-mail address registered for WoW on Craigslist it is an easy job.

Here's someone local to me selling systems for pretty high prices, and they don't all work or come with the hookups. I also don't get why it says prices are firm yet right underneath it says other offers will be considered. Near the bottom it says all systems are tested and working, yet it says in the description several of the systems need repairs.

Not actually out of the question! If you're running 10.4, you can only upgrade in the "Mac Box" for $200; if you only care about the OS, it's cheaper to get a copy of Leopard for cheap and get the $30 upgrade.

http://racine.craigslist.org/cto/1336024540.html
Sure. On CL that goes on all the time. Getting a whole car would be a good deal. Some people will offer a PS3 in exchange for just a go-kart (http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/wan/1338047082.html), some for nothing but a set of 20-inch rims (http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/pts/1332480197.html). On the other hand some people will offer you rims for a PS3 (http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/pts/1324890299.html). PS3 is practically its own currency among the hot rod set on CL.

Um actually you don't need to even get Leopard to install Snow Leopard. The $30 version of Snow Leopard can be installed on 10.4 computers, assuming they can install 10.6 normally, as it has a self contained installer, or whatever the proper term is. The $200 version is just for people who don't want to technically break a EULA.

Hi!
I'm looking for people cleaning out their closets and looking to get rid of old games for all systems! If you have any of these games, email me and depending on which ones, I'll pay you up to $20 a game! Thats a hell of a lot more than your local pawn shop of GameStop is going to be giving you!
Please actually have the games too... by that I mean, if you see Turtles Tournament Fighters, and you only have the original TMNT game, thats not what I'm looking for. Also, please no emails requesting $100 for your collection of Maddens, Splinter Cells, Test Drives, and Grand Theft Autos. I am only buying the games listed here, thank you!

This one isn't too bad, but it still irks me: http://tippecanoe.craigslist.org/ele/1349261936.html
I have a ps2 and 16 games up for sale. I had this ps2 for yaer and half. I played with it 10 times, becascue I have a 2 yaer old girl. I works like new.
My main gripe is just with people selling PS2 in general as it seems that whenever they list a lot of games, the bulk of their collection is made up of sports games that aren't worth anything.
This article in itself is also weird. The only way his story makes sense is if he replaced his original PS2 as for some odd reason he owns Madden 02, 05, and 08 (wikipediaed it). Though that does make some sense.
Still, I feel for sorry for his little girl because her dad cannot spell. Finally, if you read the last sentence with work being plural as the problem the ad takes on a whole new meaning...

If I lived in the area I'd send him an email mentioning what games I have (you know, Caltron, Snow Bros, a Contra that "only has a weird handwritten label on it and the game casing looks messed up, but it works so you can have it for $5" and then set up a time either later at night (any time after 10pm) or early in the morning "due to my work schedule." We could meet in front of the Safeway by my house, that's forty miles away from him. LOL

Looking For Video Games
I'm am looking for free Video Games. Any and all games are excepted! If you have too many games and you just want to get rid of them, contact me, and i will pick them up Asap or we can meet at a location of your choosing as long as it's in the vicinity of north San Diego! If the game is a CD, I won't take it if it has deep cuts, however, if all it needs is a good buffering, or if is a PAL or JPS game, I will still accept it. It doesn't matter if the game includes the jewel case or manual either. If the game is a cartridge, i will except it, even if it has been known not to work on your own consoles, as long as the title label is well enough intact that i can read it. If you have any game handhelds or consoles, i am willing to take these as well. Please Note, that I DO NOT want to buy games or consoles and am only looking to receive donations. When you donate, you can choose to add your name to the donor list of my collection and receive credit whenever it is showcased. Thank you for reading this.

Okay really, this is just as low as you can go. Asking total strangers to authorize your PS3 so they can download their stuff. Sure, I do this with friends, but we usually all have stuff to share. We don't have a relationship where one person spends $15 and the other person just takes that for no reason. I wonder if he's going to try and get people to save their password so he can misuse their account and download everything else they have.

Before I use to think people were crazy for over pricing the games they're selling. But now I know why they do it.
I just posted my first craigslist listing, I'm selling a fridge for $200. It's pretty much new, I have to sell it because it's too big for the house we're moving into. Anyways I have people emailing me offering $125 for it and they haven't even looked at it yet.
So I now know the reason people ask for too much is because of all of the low ballers.
Icarus Moonsight
08-31-2009, 02:49 PM
If you want $50, ask for $75. If you get $75 you can dance after they leave. LOL
The principle also works on curb-side giveaways. If you put 'free' on something, no one wants it. But 'For sale: $50' on it and it'll disappear overnight.

You have too much faith in your fellow man. I think the vast majority of CL lunatics ask for high prices because they either use Ebay as a pricing guide, or they don't take depreciation into account.
mobiusclimber

Sure, you had people offering you $125. How many of those people would even show up tho if you said "Sure, come and get it!"? Probably none. As the wise professor of philosophy (he earned a doctorate, didn't he?) Dr. Dre once said, "I been there, I done that."

Generally I would take Ebay prices, and then knock off at least 20% from the average since I'm not having to recoup fees on CL.

Pricing slightly higher prices to get rid of lowballers is one thing, but some prices are so high they'll scare off any potential customers. See this NES system with 6 games, everything loose.

Nintendo Entertainment System
Price: $375.00
I am selling an original Nintendo - fully loaded - with all necessary components such as: The AC Adapter, The RF Switch, 2 Controllers, The Zapper, and six game cartridges. The games are: Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt, Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Contra, Super Contra, Blades of Steel, and Metroid. This is a RARE SALE, this system's internal port was rebuilt so there is no blowing in the game console or game cartridges necessary! Works like Brand New. FINAL SALE.

Not always so. I have to bring up my selling of some of my broken consoles (I may have posted this either a few pages earlier or somewhere else on the site).
They were pretty much worth nothing to me and were just taking up space. I was planning on throwing them away eventually, but I decided to use Craigslist instead. I put up a lot containing Intellevision carts I couldn't sell at the game store due to their quality, 2 broken 2600s (vader and Telegames), and a broken 32x. I threw in some cords that worked and even a controller for the 7800. The price for the lot was $3. No one e-mailed me.
On what I think was the day before garbage day on my street, I decided to list the times again for free. This time I removed some of the stuff I could sell at a game store as well. Lo and behold, I got over a dozen e-mails including some after I change the listing's status.
So that just goes to show you that at the least that analogy doesn't work on Craigslist. People are willing to take almost anything free so long as they think they can get a use out of it. I'm thinking the people who asked me about the games think they can get them to work or flip them for a profit. I can tell you, fixing Ataris is hard work and the only way they could get a profit is by being dishonest and saying everything works or is untested.
(As an alternative theory on my sale, I could point out that it may just show more people browse the free section than the video game sections. I guess that is obvious though.)

A couple of weeks ago I posted a "Craigslist haiku" (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1604893&postcount=1557) I had facetiously written. But upon deeper examination of my local CL postings I've come to realize that there's quite a bit of profound poetic work out there. Consider this one (http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/spo/1353237705.html) I just discovered today.

quads, fishing gear, remote control 4x4 high speed ones, xbox 360 with games, GUNS!!, a job!! i have cdl a. need a job..,
would give it up if someone can hook me up with a job. im newly graduated from trucking school.,anything pretty much. let me know what you have. thankyou.
Clap.....clap.....clap....(/wipes sincere tear from eye)
Herein the young poet wrestles with reconciling his earthly needs and desires against an elusive dream of flight, which is probably a metaphor for an spiritual tranquility. Because the dream is beautiful, yet unattainable ("two planes, only one wing"), the poet expresses his dismay by first recalling the simple pleasures of a rural childhood via a litany of toys, punctuated suddenly by a brief, base outburst ("GUNS!"), before returning to a more sober contemplation of the everyday world.
Seriously, who needs Poetry 101 when you've got CL?

First off, apparently he's never heard of the Enter key's usefulness in creating line breaks. And I'll grant that he's smart to lead off with the RPG's, and yes, there are some good ones in there, but not $900 worth of good ones, especially when it looks like mostly loose carts, and rentals to boot. I also like how when we get to the N64 it's all CAPTACULAR!
But the real kicker for this offer is that there's no console on the SNES side, just the games. Dude, for 900 monies, throw in a bone, here, even a nicotine-yellow one.
