Yesterday (or last year, rather, heh) on my GBA SP:
Street Racing Syndicate

I'm about 70% through the main mode of the game, though I don't remember the exact percentage.

One glitch that really bothers me is that combo points aren't added to the main score for some reason. It's not a problem in a long 3-lap race with lots of corners to drift around, but in the short point-to-point races where the combos were a big help in getting all of the 250 respect points you can get per race, it makes things a lot tougher.

Despite this, it's a pretty decent driving game, probably the best budget racer available on the GBA (then again, that's not a hard feat to accomplish, especially since Corvette, Ford Racing 3, Monster Trucks, and Quad Desert Fury didn't even try to be good).

I played some more of Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria on PS2 (during boring episodes of The Twilight Zone marathon, of course, hehe), and I still haven't beaten it but I did give the final boss a try. It took me a little while just to figure out what the heck was going on in the battle, but as I realized that, I also discovered that the dungeon's sealed stones were also working against me. I had just left all of them in their places and they hadn't been too much of a problem, but now I don't want them hindering me in the final battle, so I took some time out to build up some crystals and release them all. Now I'm back up to the final save point and really prepared to kick some butt. :)

This is a enjoyable title, I like how the whole world is open to skate through. But it has some noticeable problems such as the screwy physics and frame rate slow down.

Finally ..I was able to pass this mission by not doing the mission with the vehicle given to me to do it=boat.

I went to the start of the mission with an attack helicopter-(rockets)and when they said to take the boat I took the helicopter instead cutting half the time or travel to destination too.
When I pounded the train with this helicopter it blew right away,...then I had to chase someone down who I could hardly catch with the helicopter, thus I'd needed the speed of the boat.
I was able to just catch the person with the helicopter and finish the mission.

I finally polished off Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria on my PS2, and now I'm just trying to decide if I want to tackle the bonus dungeon just yet. After having taken nearly half a year to just beat the game, I probably won't. I've been putting off the bonus dungeon in the first Valkyrie Profile too, so I'd probably be more inclined to start that first, but I don't plan on doing either for awhile. I'm kind of in a weird mood about games at the moment. I'm not burnt out, since I definitely haven't had as much time for gaming as I'd like, but nothing really strikes my fancy at the moment. After spending so long getting through the last few RPGs I've played, I don't want to play another just yet, but I'm not in the mood for anything really demanding in challenge or thought just yet either (but at the same time I want some satisfying action that isn't too much of a pushover).

Maybe I'm moving in the right direction by testing some games I bought to resell. I got a tiny lot of three games, one of which another copy of E.V.O.: Search for Eden for SNES, so considering how expensive they are, I couldn't pass up on making a little profit. I loaded up a file that was already on there and did a few stages in chapter 2. Then I popped in Friday the 13th on NES, and I actually did something that resembled progress, which is more than I could have ever said before. For some reason, the game has its fans, but I'm among the majority that thinks it blows, so I quickly ended that testing. Finally, I put in Crystalis, and the test to make sure it works and will hold a save turned into non-stop playing, and two days later I'm at level 16 and close to beating the game. :P And unlike the first time I beat the game, I didn't use any FAQs, except just now to look up the use of some basic items (since I have no manual and they don't tell you squat in-game) and to see if I missed anything. I'm really having a great time playing Crystalis again, but I'll be back at square one soon trying to figure out what to play considering I've blown through it so fast.

I've been playing this a lot lately so now to see what it looks like non-TATE, and its pretty bad, you really need the higher resolution to get those bullets pinpoint so you can dodge them. Even though my new TV is HD and in yoko mode the screen is much bigger than my monitor it is much less clear due to the reduced resolution from not being in tate, sigh.

I didn't play any games at all for a few days while my boyfriend and his brother were away at that MAGFest convention since I had our apartment all to myself and used that time alone to get lots of other things done like getting my shelves of game stuff much more organized. :)

I just got back to Crystalis on NES, though, and I beat the game but I missed the Psycho Shield. I'll go back and get that really quick just to "complete" my file.

I've also been playing some two-player stuff on SNES with my boyfriend. He had never played Donkey Kong Country 2 before (sacrilege to me, hehe), so we popped that in. After a couple sessions with it, we're up to the third area on the first rollercoaster stage (love 'em). We played some Super Mario Kart in battle mode, but I find it kind of difficult to adjust to the controls after all these years. It usually just makes me wish I was playing Mario Kart 64 battle mode with four players.

Phoenix Wright:Ace Attorney - DS
Played some more of the 5th and final case on my way home 2 nights ago but I prefer playing this in long stints not in short bursts on journeys which i've been doing with this case so not properly in to it.

SVC Chaos - PS2
Bought this yesterday for a fiver and wasn't expecting it to be good and i didn't really enjoy it. I prefer having a team. I feel its lacking in character selections and against the CPU its really easy until suddenly it becomes very hard. Supers are harder to pull off on the PS2 d-pad also and i don't know what those "exceed" moves are yet but i'm sure to play this again at somepoint.

We Love Katamari - PS2
Still the most joyous experience. Me and my flatmate played some, doing one quick level a few times, the racetrack for the first time and a couple of goes on the 500m level where we didn't break 2km.

Cooking Mama - DS
I never really got into this but every time i pick it up i still have a blast.

Tootuff: Mission Nadia - DS
Tried to play this on my way to work this morning but the only mission avaliable was one to do with rubbing a thermometer, which just wouldn't work.

I quickly picked up the Psycho Shield in Crystalis on NES, and now I'm trying to decide what to get into next.

I played a little more Donkey Kong Country 2 on SNES with my boyfriend, but we didn't make any progress since we lost all of our lives on the brambles stage after the first rollercoaster.

I popped Beatmania GB into my SP just for the hell of it, and I really, REALLY suck now. Not that I was ever particularly good at it or any music games in general, but now I'm just a mess when playing.

For some reason, I got the urge to play Bikkuriman World on PC Engine, which is Wonder Boy in Monster Land with an anime license slapped on. I never really gave the game a chance before since it seemed so archaic in comparison to the later Wonder Boy titles, especially Dynastic Hero. I'm starting to really like it, though, but I don't know if I have the stamina to stick with it. It can get really difficult and really cheap, and the timer that slowly drains your life just gets infuriating. I just keep repeating to myself "You DON'T put a timer in an adventure game". I can make it up to stage 4 straight, and I got up to stage 7 by using the continue code, which really is more about saving myself time and repetition rather than "cheating". I think I've just about had my fill of it for now, so it's back to the drawing board.

Baseball Stars 2
I start off Horrible...He's working on shutting me out for the first time..
He's winning 10-0...I was swinging at everything and he was talking full advantage of that.
Bottom of the Ninth..
He was on his last pitcher and hits my first batter up....My Batter punches his pitcher and now he can't throw anything good...The pitcher is done..
I take full advantage of this and use up all my power ups to get the score up to 8-10..Two out,two players on base I hit a pop up..Game Over!!! He won..
(rematch tomorrow)
