Been playing mainly multi-player games as of late as I am living with some relatives for the time being. The games include:

- Super Street Fighter II (Tournament mode is brilliant!)
- Turtles IV: Turtles in Time
- Marvel vs Capcom (been hitting this one hard on Cross Fever mode)

But I've still managed to pull some time away for myself and have been playing the following CV games:

- Castlevania: Bloodlines (Gen)
- Super Castlevania IV (SNES)

I played some more Nanatsu Kaze no Shima Monogatari on Saturn. It's kind of a weird experience playing the game. I don't dislike it, but I'm not really enjoying it either. In fact, I don't feel like I'm doing much at all. I get really sleepy every time I start playing, and I think a big reason for that is that there's no music half the time - it's either a sound effect in the background like birds or wind or nothing at all. To make matters worse, almost all of the buddies that tag along with me have really loud, ANNOYING footstep sound effects. I think this may be one of the few games that REALLY need the player to be fluent in the language to enjoy them properly. Most people would say the same about the Wonder Project J games since those are also text-heavy, but I still loved those games without knowing much Japanese. They move at a fast pace, are fairly easy to follow, their puzzles have a good deal of logic to them, and you can tackle problems in varying orders to some extent. Plus, you get the whole sensation of raising and teaching the robot character. I have no feeling that Gaapu is "growing", rather I just feel like I'm slowly wandering around until he stumbles across whatever he needs to do to advance the plot. Maybe the game purposely sacrificed gameplay for storytelling, but that's all pretty lost on me. Sure, I get the basics of what's going on (so I don't know if I would call the plot that thrilling either), but something feels off. Well, anyway, I'm in chapter 4, which is just a couple chapters away from where the FAQ cuts off, so I may not be able to play it much longer regardless (since I am getting stuck quite often).

A few months ago I bought Kirby for the GameBoy and the pawn shop had both the English and Japanese releases. I was playing the JP version (which is the exact same thing) just for the hell of it and of course I love Kirby games. The only two things wrong with it (IMO) are:
1) You can obsorb enemy attacks like in the NES version.
2) No save spots so you die, game over.

Of course #2 isn't that bad because it adds challenge, however it was a busy day today and wasn't able to play right through. On a side note though, I played the new DS Kirby game the other week at a Target and it's pretty awesome, it's a must pick-up sometime, along with a bunch of other DS titles I want. :p

I'm still playing Wii Sports but not a whole lot. Picking a sport and playing for about 30 minutes is a blast but I tend to want to do something else when that 30 minutes is up.
I'm also still working on becoming a Grand Champion in NBA Jam TE on my Saturn. I suffered my first loss to the Supersonics and proceeded to lose to them about 4 straight times before I pulled out the Victory with my Orlando Magic. So much for a flawless record.
The other 2 games on my plate are Bushido Blade on PS which for whatever reason I havent really sat down and worked on and Mario Kart DS. On my next day off I'll have to put some time into these.

So, last Wednesday I finally got my Wii! Unforunately wasn't able to play it over the weekend but that leaves a good few days. I've got an official (pricey!) component cable and Wii Play with the extra remote.

Thoughts:

Menu - love it, i love the feeling from the controller like on WarioWareTwisted, gives that feeling that you really are moving over something. I love the little rounded TV screen corners on each of the channels. The messages are ok but should have an overall time played on each game. No internet connection to test most things though.

Mii Channel - I never thought i'd like the idea of Miis but they are brilliant, we all had good fun creating our Miis and its fun to poke them in Wii Play. Hopefully they'll be downloadable upgrades to this to, for example, add more hair styles and colours

Photo Channel - Great fun, love the way it zooms in and out and stacks photos. The sliding puzzle game is great fun and the music and ability to listen to mp3s is nifty. Custom soundtracks in future wii games?

Wii Sports - Good fun as everyone knows. Haven't tried bowling 2 player yet though... Tennis is a great intro to the wii.

Wii Play - Me and my flatmate have been putting a lot of time into this both 1 and 2 player. Its really good and the games can be enjoyed for the first time or replaying them to actually master them. Many have that really retro gaming feeling even though the control scheme is new. The 2 -player co-op tanks game is much better than single player and just feels like such an old videogame. Laser hockey reminds me of the BitGenerations GBA games. The Pose Mii game is also very intense and strangely, much like Ikaruga with the switching of poses. Right, i'll be attemping that 100 rally at table tennis later today...

Got in some Sega Genesis Collection last night. Shadow Dancer. I finally beat the boss of stage 4-3. What I once thought was so tought turned out to be so easy. I had no idea the boss weak spot was at the center. So I moved on to the final stage which was composed of a like 5 different rooms. I HATE black ninjas. They take the most hits to kill. The final boss made me truly hate Shadow Dancer's one hit deaths. I mean it's bad enough the boss's weak point isn't always showing but the freak calls upon a ton of blakc ninjas and I HATE black ninjas!!!!! I tried again and again to beat the fool but gave up out of sheer frustration.

Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact - Dreamcast
Not really into the flow, my flatmate was impressed by the graphics though, which suprised me as this game is almost 10 years old. Anyway, i soon gave up.

Wii Play
Some excellent 2player action, especially on Tanks, which we still suck at and can't get past level 12. Solo i got gold medals on Wii Pose, Shooting and Table Tennis. Woo!

Cooking Mama - DS
A few more recipies. I've realised i've a huge DS backlog of games i need to get through - long gone are the days when i only bought a new DS game when i'd either completed or played to death my last one. I should start gaming on my commute again really.

Oil Panic - Game & Watch Collection - DS
This confused me at first and then I got into it. Its good to go back to gaming like this. I guess i aim to loop the score on this and then sometime in the future go on to the 3rd game in this collection.

Me .against my Son and Nephew..
They Play as a team against me..we'll most of the time..

We tried some of the maps we never play..(basically become a Video Game Of Hide And Seek with us..

I woke up today and my face hurt from laughing so much....

I kept finding hiding spots and when they'd walk around the corner,BAM!!..This went on and on with them, especially with my nephew as he uses Melee Attacks a lot...He rushes in seeing my red on his map and BAM!!..

My Son however is a tactical player,he'll sneak around more,Going around another way instead of rushing in..,carefully going around, using obstacles not to get hit and hide...He'll lob grenades to try and fish me out if he thinks he knows where I'm at....

I'm sitting in the great spot...Nailing my nephew over and all of a sudden I have see sticky grenades coming into the corner I was in...AHHH,My son figured out where I was without even coming near me..Fished me right out.(me,laughing my ass off while trying to get away from them..

I'll find another hiding spot, and they'd look for me..
Nephew following my Son..When they pass..I'll come sneaking out, sneak up behind them...plant a sticky on one of them and run like hell..Utter Hilarity ..

I found a spot so good that no matter if they saw my red dot they'd not see me.(on a ledge)..So,close,so close they got,Both baffled as I hid and laughed..My gut was clinching as they walk past...
Finally,my Son sees the ledge and starts pounding the area..I didn't think he'd ever find me.

Those are some nice N64 games, I hope you give Ken Griffey a rest and put some time in those others, although I'm sure you will... :)

An indy store up the road was holding onto an NES top-loader for me because he knew I'd been trying to hunt one down for awhile, but I didn't have enough money so he sold it to another person that's also been in line and has the dough. Due to this I was paying attention to some eBay auctions and managed to get one for $59 shipped, which I know is a tad high but it's cheaper than most places around here and I'll be able to play my NES games again since I sold my toaster NES last month (Was tired of the problems and am too lazy to buy the nes pins).

But until I get to plug in my NES games again, I was playing some DC and SNES on Monday. Sega GT feels horrible compaired to a lot of other racers I have but it was a hoot to check back up with it. I also played an assortment of SNES like Yoshi's Cookie and Strike Gunner S-T-G.

By the way, I haven't had the ability to edit my DP collection profile since the upgrade and have sold a few games and found a lot more. Due to the inability to keep up at this time I have been manually entering my collection on my personal public html directory at school. It's at:
http://www.cs.odu.edu/~mcrainer
I think maybe, just maybe I've hit the 1000 game mark without knowing but I'll continue to enter more tonight and into the weekend.

School started up for me again, so I'm back to having very little time for gaming. Today I got a chance to play some more Nanatsu Kaze no Shima Monogatari on Saturn, and I'm in chapter 5. I kind of gave up on trying to figure out stuff on my own, so at school I printed out the FAQ on GameFAQs and I've been having that lead me through the game. I figure why frustrate myself now when the guide ends mid way through chapter 6 and I'll be completely on my own then anyway.

Now that I'm back to school I do have an excuse to use my Game Boy Advance SP again, though. I popped in Boxxle again for the first time in at least a month or two, and I actually managed to polish off the last stage I had left in area 9 so now all of area 10 is open to me. I swear, I must be going for a world record in how long it's taking me to complete the game. :P

I got up to where the GameFAQs' guide cuts off in Nanatsu Kaze no Shima Monogatari on Saturn, and I pretty much instantly got stuck. :/ I emailed the FAQ writer, but since it was his only guide and it was written several years ago, I kinda doubt I'll get a response. I'll probably have to retire the game until somebody else writes a complete guide, if that ever even happens.

I also played Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for Saturn (yeah, I know that's not the real title of it, but whatever) for a very brief amount of time when my boyfriend passed the controller to me for a minute.

Anyway, I'm kind of lost as to what to play since I don't think I'll likely be able to continue with Nanatsu Kaze no Shima Monogatari. Right now I just have Chulip lined up, but until its Valentine's Day release, I don't know what I'll play (not that I have a ton of free time to do so, anyway). So far I just popped Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria back into my PlayStation 2, and I only played long enough to exit the final dungeon and toy around with equipment and settings in preparation to eventually work on the bonus dungeon. I also played more Boxxle on my Game Boy Advance SP, and after trying and failing to beat the first stage in area 10 MANY times over, I beat two other stages practically back to back. Saw a trailer for the PS3 version and was impressed so downloaded the PC one. Was odd, excellent sound. I think the PS3 has improved visuals. Its lacking the tilting controller though. I'm still not sure what to do but i must of put 20-30mins into it and will definitely go back.

I beat three more stages in area 10 in Boxxle on my Game Boy Advance SP, but I don't think any of them were at school. I've been so exhausted when I get home each night (on most school days I get up at 8 or 9 AM, get ready quickly and leave, and I don't get home until around 10 PM or later), so I don't even have the energy to drag myself from the bed to the TV (and I don't really have the time to get involved any game that's a big commitment, since I barely have the time to eat, shower, and get ready for the next day before I need to get to sleep). Boxxle has been good for just laying back and relaxing. :)

Put down another few teams in NBA Jam TE [saturn] but spent most of today playing Diablo II after having some teeth pulled. Nothing easier than clicking on the baddies and picking up shiny new items.

Been playing Rainbow Six Vegas co-op with Alucard79. Truly great game to play with your buds. Other than that, trying to school some fools in Uno and climb the ladder in Fight Night Round 3. Later...

Played Castlevania IV (SNES) and got to level VIII (8), and then realized that I was getting my ass handed to me there and quit.

Also, been playing Hoshigami a bit, but it seems you spend most of your time trying to train in those towers to be good enough to do the next battle in front of you...which all that monotonous training really wears me out.

And lastly, I've played a bit of multi Goldeneye007 (N64), because you just can't beat that. Played 3's with my bro and cousin.

I'm playing Super Aleste on Super Famicom.

I just got a killer deal on Saturn stuff on craigslist so I've been playing Dragon Force and Sonic Jam as well. I'll probably play Daytona USA and Virtua Cop a little later on.

Yeah, I just got it in a couple days ago. I found it on ebay, cart only. I paid 10.50 plus $4 for shipping. I'm not too sure if thats a good deal or not, but I really wanted it, plus I got SS Rockman X from the same seller for $3.75.

Yes, I'm very much excited for FF6advance. FF3 is my abosolute favorite RPG of all time. I'm going to have to get the portable version in the next few days.

I ran Battle Garegga (Saturn) and ESP rade (arcade) at the same time today. Going between the two of them is much more fun than sitting down and playing 1 game at a time.
