I still haven't played much since beating Chulip, both because I can't decide what to play next and I've been really busy.
I did play some more Wetrix on N64 just for the hell of it since it was still sitting in my system.
Other than that, I tried out two PS1 games I just got: Project: Horned Owl (with no light gun or mouse, though) and Bubble Bobble also featuring Rainbow Islands. I think that was the first time I've played Bubble Bobble, surprisingly, even though I've played a lot of Puzzle Bobble. I bet most people would disagree, I actually like Rainbow Islands better. I've gone back to it a couple times, but I haven't gotten past that vampire boss on the third island. I tried the version of the game with updated graphics too, but I prefer the original.

Karous - Dreamcast
This arrived yesterday and was quite fun. Because of the colour scheme, everything kindof looks the same. Unfortunately i seem to be doing better with the shot than with the sword which i prefer. Going to give it more goes tonight :)

Little of this, little of that as of late:
- Guitar Hero 2 (PS2) - Just got 5 stars throughout Medium mode, transitioning intoHard mode
- Paper Mario Thousand Year Door (GCN) -- Two crystal stars obtained, spending some time looking around before moving on to the 3rd star location.
- Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin (DS) -- Needing to go through the 4 paintings to unlock the big one...but I running around trying to fill out my enemies guide and collect all the rarities.
- Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time (DS) -- At the end of Yoshi's Island area.

IIRC, a second playable character is acquired midway through the first mission. For most of the remaining missions, up to four characters can be selected for your team.
You may want to check out a game FAQ for leveling-up hints, as maxing out every skill/stat is impossible due to the limited number of skill/stat points available in the game.

Sonic and the Secret Rings - Wii
My flatmate reckoned i should give it another go and it was again immensely frustrating. Did a couple more stupid missions and unlocked a new world which i did the level of but was so annoyed by then that it wasn't fun. Needed something to cheer me up so played a good sega game instead...
Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast - PS2
Now this is more like it, excellent music, blue skies, just great fun, and you are actually in control of where you are going. The difference between this and Sonic is staggering.
Karous - Dreamcast
Sorted out what i'm doing and remembering that there is a shield helps loads on bosses. I'm still sticking with the shot although on level 3 it doesn't seem powerful and i still want to sword things. Haven't been able to make it past the level 3 boss (2nd form).
Sonic Rush (DS)
A nice game, the bad things is however the buggy bosses. If you hit them JUST when they're about to move (from where you stunned them), you won't hit them, and you might even take damage.
The idea with two stories is really good! I've played the first 6 stages for both Sonic and Blaze now, completed the stage 6 boss with Sonic.

Today my boyfriend surprised me with a brand new slim silver PS2 and a new memory card (black), for no particular reason at all. :) I don't know what the heck happened since the last time I looked it was impossible to find the silver PS2 brand new anywhere and used ones on eBay were selling for well over the MSRP, but apparently my boyfriend discovered they were available again. Sony had said that it was just going to be a limited release for the holidays, but I guess if anyone missed out on it before like me, here's a second chance.
Anyway, I still haven't been playing much seriously, just testing out various games. I got a second copy of The Revenge of Shinobi and was playing that for a little while, and I tried Sword of Sodan but it made me feel suicidal. :P
On PS2, I tried out Radiata Stories, Dragon Quest VIII, and Jak 3, and on PS1 I tested Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX and Um Jammer Lammy. Now I have the Chop Chop Master Onion music in my head. :)
The only thing I've seriously started is Lufia & the Fortress of Doom on SNES. Lufia 2 has a very fond place in my heart since it was one of the very first RPGs I really got into, but I've never played the first game before. I actually feel very fortunate to have played them in this order since I get to experience the story in chronological order. The ending of Lufia 2 sure was a shock to me having not played the first game (which spoils the Lufia 2 ending right at the beginning). I'm also really enjoying all the references to Lufia 2, even if it's technically the other way around. The game may not hold a candle to the sequel (or "prequel", rather), but so far it's fun. I'm up to Grenoble right now.

Played through Metal Slugs 5 + 6 via Metal Slug Anthology on Wii. The emulation seems very good and controlling the game 'NES style' (with the shake for grenade) works good enough to me most of the time. I like how slow down has been eliminated for the games. The brief load times in Metal Slug 5 are annoying, but at least they are short. Overall, I'm not going to get rid of the Slugs I have on MVS but this is a solid compilation. Regarding Slug 6, I have mixed feeling about it. The story and gameplay are much more in tune with the old SNK Slugs but the backgrounds are just a little too static and the music is a bit weak. A good game, but the last great Slug was 3.
Also playing more Final Fantasy VI Advance EX + alpha. Got to the floating island and had my ass handed to me as I ran out of Pheonix Downs and Tents rather quickly. So back to a previous save and off to level grind and beef up some esper magics...

I played some more of Lufia & the Fortress of Doom on SNES, and now I'm up to the tower from which I need to rescue Jerin. I'm at level 18 with my hero. Most of Lufia's spells are getting pretty useless at this point (except for Blast, but it uses too much MP), so I hope she learns some better stuff soon.
