These last couple weeks have been so crazy for me that I've barely had any time for gaming or getting online, but I do have quite a bit of gaming to catch up on with all the stuff that I put a tiny bit of time into.
First, I quickly finished off Brave Fencer Musashi on PlayStation with help in the form of a suggestion from my boyfriend. Things didn't quite work out as well as I would've liked with collecting all the secret action figures, despite that I closely followed an FAQ, but I didn't have the time to look into it more because I had to leave the state and head back to school. Before I did that, though, I went to the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle and tried out Jeanne D'Arc on PSP in the Exhibition Hall. During that weekend that I was attending the convention, I also played my GBA now and then to kill a little time. I played some more Atari Anniversary Advance (mostly for Centipede) and Pac-Man Collection as well as a few hours of Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance via the Castlevania Double Pack.
After my cross-country flight back home, I tried out some of the PS2 games I acquired over the summer: Dual Hearts, Suikoden Tactics, Tales of Legendia, Tokobot: Mysteries of the Karakuri, and Steambot Chronicles. I've been wanting Tokobot for a long time, and I liked it best of the bunch. I'll definitely have to play through the whole game in the near future.
The only thing I've been remotely playing "seriously", however, is Heiankyo Alien on my Game Boy Advance SP. I figured it would have 20 or 30 stages, but I was surprised to learn how close I was to beating the game when I read up on it earlier. I figured the cutscene I was getting was just one of many, but it turns out it was the half way point in the game. Then with a couple more attempts today, I was able to polish it off. I've only been casually playing it for the last few days, so I'm surprised that it went by so fast. I'll probably give it some more play, though, to give the "old" mode a tackle. It doesn't seem nearly as fun, but it'll at least offer a good challenge (or frustration, we'll see which).

Yakuza - PS2
I started this and put about 10hours into it over the weekend. I don't normally like starting long story based games but for some reason felt like it and this has been sitting around for ages due to the Shenmue comparisons. It does have quite a few negatives: too much swearing, loading times, graphics, no speech apart from cutscenes. I'm having a lot of fun with it though. The story is interesting and I like the characters. I like the idea of the whole world and you can wander about and participate in other activities like getting drunk and chatting up the hostesses (although the payoff was small on the one I tried). The fighting is very brutal but does get a bit repetitive although the usage of objects as weapons adds a lot. I hope they release the sequal in the west, even though the game may be improved if the voices were left in Japanese and there were just subtitles, especially since every single sentence seems to involve at least one swear word. This game definitely deserves its 18 certificate.

Yesterday I played Kingdom Hearts 2 for about four hours and finished the game. Then I jumped right into another RPG and started playing The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age for about three or four hours, untill I made it to West Moria and had random fights with goblins and trolls every 30 seconds which just annoyed the piss out of me so I gave up. Then when I woke up today I logged another three and a half hours into TLOTR:3rd Age.

I just played a quick game of one of my all time favorite games, DUCK HUNT! For the original NES. I'm sure some people here already know that I am a Duck Hunt nut. I've made it to level zero with one duck, and the clay shots. So yea, I just played a quick round I made it to level 38 mostly because I wasnt giving it my undivided attention. I'm playing:
Twilight Princess: Just found out about the whole "mirror of twilight" thing and am now (I believe) officially in the second half of this fantastic game. I think I safely like it better than Ocarina of Time, it is so choice.
Final Fantasy II: I'm playing through it on Dawn of Souls, and while the level-up system (or lack thereof) is a little frustrating, I like it better than FF1 so far because it actually has....*gasp*....a storyline!
Metroid Prime 1: Been chipping away at this for ages, still need to finish it.
Pokemon Diamond: Still slogging through Victory Road, I just need to sit down and get through it. The Elite Four will still clobber me, so I need to level up my Poke's some more.

Taito Legends 2 (PS2) - Stumbled upon a copy at Walmart (I thought this was supposed to be a GS\EB exclusive) last night. I had read the mediocre reviews for the game, but decided to spend the mere $14.99. First game I notice when I boot it up.....G Darius! This game is my favorite shooter of all time, and not one review mentions this kick ass game. Now, I'm not a shooter fan at all, but seriously, the giant end bosses and the mega alpha beem that fills the whole screen is fanfuckingtastic. This game alone warrents the price tag. Play some Hat Trick Hero on it as well, and laughed out loud several times after scoring goals. Haven't dug into it to much, but I try most of the games tomorrow.
Red Steel (Wii) - Pretty decent FPS on the Wii. The controls are a bit touchy but nothing that can't be overcome. I was expecting more fun from the swordplay aspect of the game, but that seems to be universal complaint. The health system in the game is pretty wierd as well, it takes a cue from Halo and when you aren't taking damage for a few seconds your life bar will recharge itself.
Recently purchased Yakuza and Disgaea 2 last night as well, so I'll need to sit down and give those a spin sometime.

Electric Yo-Yo, which is on the Taito Legends collection for the PS2. The randomness of the enemies is a little frustrating, but it's a pretty fun game. It's something of a cross between Oil's Well (ColecoVision) and Solar Fox (Atari 2600).

Tomb Raider: Anniversary PS2
http://www.tombraider.ws/images/anniversary/01.jpg currently on the 11th? level. or about 65% finished.
I finally picked this game up after noticing that just about every copy of this game in my area was vanishing like crazy for some reason maybe its some rabid TR fanboy or maybe it just could be the fact that this is one of the PS2s final truly AAA games!
dramatic enough for ya?
I have to admit this is a great freaking game!
I new it would at least be "good" since I had played a demo of both Legend and Anniversary on my PC but damn am I surprised at how kick ass this game turned out.
The PS2 version is actually better than I expected it to be A LOT BETTER AAA graphics (not just for last gen but for any gen system) the amount of smooth water effects and detailed textures are beyond impressive for being on the PS2 hardware and really put it up there with the likes of Shadow of Colossus and thats no exaggeration and get this the game runs smooooth unlike Shadow so thats a plus also.
PS2 version screen shot
http://www.ps2vicio.com/imagenes1/PS2/Lara_Croft_Tomb_Raider_Anniversary/Lara_Croft_Tomb_Raider_Anniversary_3.jpg
Also excellent improved gameplay and a solid all around game engine that seems to be tweaked to the max from the Blood Omen/Legend engine.
Even if you are not and never were a fan of Tomb Raider I suggest giving it a try and for anyone that were previously fans of the Tomb Raider series and had lost all hope after Angel of Darkness and still didnt jump in with Legend now is the time to rekindle that flame for sexy and nimble Laura as Tomb Raider Anniversary is the best TR game since the TR2 days but with updated GAMEPLAY and very sweet graphics to round out what might end up being the Tomb Raider that will be very difficult to top for Crystal Dynamics.
http://a248.e.akamai.net/f/248/5462/2h/images.gamezone.com/screens/30/0/24/s30024_ps2_10.jpg
I have been reading about the Wii and Xbox360 versions of TR:Anniversary now in development and Im sure some of the Wii mechanics might be interesting but with what CD has accomplished graphically on the Playstation 2 hardware I really cant imagine how sweet TR:Anniversary would look on the Xbox360 if given the right amount of attention and development time instead of being a quick port of the PS2 game like Legend was on the 360.

So i finally decided to shell out for a Dreamcast arcade stick. Its huuge. Bigger than the dreamcast and ps2 combined when i put it back under the telly. I was going to take a photo buy hey. So here's what I played to test it out:
Ikaruga - now i kept getting my buttons confused as i'm used to playing on a pad.
Mr. Driller - great fun but can't beat it. I'm taking things a lot slower and more thoughtful though
King of Fighters 99 - Seemed to have some trouble pulling off the 2 quarter circle forward supers.
Under Defeat - Does this stick not have rumble?? I can't tell whilst playing this game the explosions are so huge. Anyway, this is seriously good, I may have to get back into it, and mr.driller
But here's really what I put a huge amount of time into this weekend, doubling my play time to 20hours:
Yakuza - PS2

COD3
I could not find shit to play online with the game so I started downloading free demos.
Then I found a capture the flag game and got into it.
Damn it!,there's no one here but one guy..(FK,I hate that)He already had got my flag thre times before I joined.
Now,I have to find this guy so I follow some explosions I hear...I don't know what he was doing but he kept blowing something up..
I sneak right up behind him but decide to not kill him..I turn around and retreat back to his flag..
I throw a grenade far to awaken him to my presence..He automatically goes running to my side to get the my flag.
Ok,the trap is set..Let me lay right here infront of his flag, then when he runs up with my flag I kill him, retrieve my flag and grab his flag while he's stuck in the 10 second respawn.
LOL..it worked like a charm..I took his flag back to my base and scored.
OMG!! was he pissed..He found my ass and hit me right in the back when I was hiding..I can't figure out how this guy found me but he was no slouch..This guy was good, real good..We kept fighting it out back and forth trying to out smart the other..
I felt like I was in a boxing match with a pro boxer,it starte to get too intence..Too intence to just go on against one guy as I'm not big on the just kill the other guy gameplay, and that's what it became....(no main goal,we never went to get the flag again as it was waste..We both went on full defence....
The game had a good amount of time left but the contant fighting was getting tiring..There was just no where to really get around each other....I almost gave up but I didn't want to give up the fight to him..
I go find him again.he's jumping trying to kill me then I get hit from the back..WTF!!
... all of a sudden I get swamped..4 other guys joined his side since he had more flags scored and killed me..
I tried to continue the fight but it got ridiculous,I'd take out three with everything I had,and get killed by the other two..It was just too much and not fair so I quit...
No use taking on 5 guys by myself....
When I left that had no enemy to fight..so thy must of had to switch over to even the fight.
Sadly, people onlne would rather stay on the winning, more people side then to get into the underdog side.
I don't care about winning,as long as I have fun..
Later
COD3..
Went into a single capture the flag game at the Fuel Plant level...I don't know the Fuel Plant level well..
The group was full.... my side sounded like people from another country..(I heard words like Brit?said between them..)
Anyhow I got into the game late, chose to play as a medic via using the shotgun..
I rush right in to get the flag and 5 of the enemy are circled around the flag..I stopped in my tracks,whoa!!..I flipped a grenade at them but it's FN smoke for Medics, then I just started blasting away.
They jumped like as if I surprised them(OH SHIT!!)...Then my team started to follow up ..I got the flag, dropped it and one of my team grabbed it..He asked, what do I do with it.
I'm explaining this to him while fighting off the advancing enemy..Saying to myself,Ha,these guys are noobs via me noob to the level, this is going to be good..
Everybody was following me,I felt like a teacher with a bunch of school kids following.
...the shotgun wasn't cutting it as the enemy were coming from too far distance to hit them so when I died I switched to a MG..
I was ripping them up..All of the sudden I was just killing the enemy in droves with this weapon..Ding,time up game over.
I finished in the middle for kill rate.
We started over, duel sided full game..same map...I kept running ahead of the group and catching the enemy on the attack..Kill after kill,I'd hide,reload..And start ripping it again..
Eventually they got smart and set some snipers up on the catwalks above so I had to take a side route around them..
Sneaking I found this spot where the enemy were trying to flank us.(oh,this is perfect)...I'm just laying there waiting, watching a bunch of them coming..When they stepped into the open I opened up on them....They just kept coming and coming,I'm running out of ammo and switching to my side arm killing them while they ran up on me..I'd hide behind a barrel to reload the MG and then open fire again..
I don't know how many guys I killed but it was more then I ever did.
I was sooooooooo supped up,I felt like if I was in some sort of movie..They were so hell bent on trying to get me in this spot that they kept trying and I just kept tearing them up..
Eventually I ran out of ammo(pissed) and got overrun but man was the fight sweet.
That game ended and I had the high score..
.........
I heard a guy say in the lobby,"who the heck is that guy"....lol
Later I got into one game in a map I don't like, but it ended quick..It was continued on a map I prefer,..well into the game with a nice kill count racing up the whole PIECE OF CRAP XBOX LIVE goes Down..Everybody was kicked off.
I can't find any games going on in COD3 so I just gave up and turned the system off.

My latest adventures in gaming.......
-Sid Meier's Pirates (XBox, pretty solid but not as good as the NES version)
-NFL Fever 2004 (XBox, got my ass kicked not once but twice by the 67' Packers in that little Classic Matchups tourney thing)
-Dragon Warrior (NES, used a save state to see if the game can be beat without first rescuing Princess Gwaelin and if that happens to change the ending)
-Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (original Gameboy)
-NCAA College Football 2K3 (Gamecube)
-Madden 2002 (Gamecube)
-Evil Zone (Playstation 1)

Pole Position on the cabinet, relaxing to play after work. Here's the current game listing on the cab, probably won't change any unless I replace the computer in there one day. (which I doubt I'll ever do)...

Played Metal Slug 1 & 2 on Metal Slug Anthology (Wii) this evening. I had totally forgotten how badass those games are. A friend and I were able to beat both in a couple of hours but only due to the unlimited credits. I have always totally sucked at those games.

Heavenly Sword(PS3)
This game is incredible, it's everything I want included in an action/hack&slash title. The only downside? It's VERY short, I've played up to the final boss in around five hours...
Super Mario AllStars(SMB3)(SNES)
I never get tired of this game, over the years.

I beat Halo 2. It was bad, and I hated it.
Now I'm gonna finish SOCOM US Navy SEALS.

Wii Sports / Wii Play / WarioWare: Smooth Moves
Some lovely 4player action. For many hours.
Under Defeat / Mr.Driller - Dreamcast
Just for a couple mins, wasn't really into it.
Yakuza - PS2
On the last chapter now, i think i've missed things and sidequests, sigh.

I am frickin' SICK SICK SICK of Shining Force 2. Almost done (two battles to go?) then I'm taking a break until Shining Force 3... the game I abandoned 8 years ago.
