Are there any fighters on the DS yet? I can only think of scrolling beat-em-ups like Star Wars, Bleach and Jump Superstars.
Jump Superstars looks amazing but I havent played it yet.

Since my last post, I've played quite a bit more of TwinBee Taisen Puzzle Dama and the original Taisen Puzzle Dama, but I've had my fill of those for the time being. Now I'm playing through the Japanese version of Tail Concerto. I bought it mainly as an excuse to play the game yet again. :P However, it is cool to hear the original intro song and the Japanese voices, and a few other things are different (the options in the game are totally different; the Japanese version has some that the US version had removed, but overall the US options are far more useful such as three different difficulty settings and adjustable diving sensitivity and camera movement). It's also funny to see that the US version was censored a tiny bit. There are a couple pictures in the photo album showing the Pris sisters drinking beer which were replaced with art from the manual (which is still good art, but a lame replacement for art that was exclusive to the album).
With Tail Concerto, I also got Gunnm: Martian Memory (also a Japanese PlayStation game). I'm a big fan of the anime, and I intend to read the manga series whenever I get the time. From what I tried, the game seems to be pretty true to the story, and despite that the graphics aren't as great as they could be, the game definitely gives off the feel of the manga/anime. Although, I can't help but wonder what a detailed 2D Gunnm game would be like. Anyway, I'm not really in the mood for something dark and heavy at the moment (which explains why I'm quite happy playing Tail Concerto right now), so I'll shelf it until I'm in the mood. I'm thinking it would be quite nice to read the manga and play through the game simultaneously.
At school, I beat one more stage in area 9 of Boxxle, but I haven't been putting much time into it. In Legend of the River King, I caught one or two more record-sized fish.
Other than that, I played a few minutes of Metal Slug: 2nd Mission on Neo Geo Pocket Color, and a tiny bit of Marvel vs. Street Fighter in the arcade that I work at in my school (ironically, I almost never play the arcade games; instead, I play my SP, but the main reason for this is that it's a piss-poor arcade because the provider of machines won't give us a good selection nor do they maintain the machines that are there very well).

Got some more gameplay in on Simcity 4 Rush Hour and finally got a city with a population of 125k with lots of wealthy sims and high tech jobs and whatnot. It's going pretty nice but it appears once again I'm starting to hit a roadblock with expansion. I think there's a huge lack in public transportation and if I place a lightrail system that rides around the highway and through residential areas with parking garages nearby it'll help with congestion and increase the work force. I have a few ghettos on the edge of town and can't seem to get the rich to move in, even after adding additional schools, museums, police and fire protection. There's plenty of high income commercial businesses around it so I'm puzzled. I might have to start expanding on another side of the water and see how that goes. :) I'll try and put a picture up sometime on it's current progress and build some neighboring cities.

Kage no Densetsu - Famicom LOL
Lagoon - SNES
Sky Target - Saturn (JPN)
Vampire Hunter - Saturn (JPN)
Lagoon is starting to get frustrating, not because of attack range issues but horrible slowdown. Slowdown to the point where you can't attack because the game is chugging so much it won't register the attack sequence.

I beat Tail Concerto, which is to be expected since I always blow through the game fast (but savor every second of it :) ). I saw another picture in the photo album that was removed from the US version, but it's just a dull picture of Fool's art from the manual. If you collect all the photo pieces in the Japanese version, you get TWO rows of bonus pictures in the clear data, not one like the US version. Two of the photos from the second row were used to replace those pictures with beer, and the third with Fool was taken out I assume because they didn't want a second row consisting of just one photo.
I got one or two more record-sized fish in Legend of the River King, and I played a tiny bit of Boxxle since my last post but I don't think I've beaten any additional stages since then. I also played a little bit of Mega Man X2 on SNES while trying out my new Nintendo s-video cable. Unfortunately, the one that works with the N64 and GameCube doesn't work perfectly with the SNES since it outputs sound in mono, so I just ordered another cable from Nintendo that is designed specifically for the SNES. And neither work with the SNES model 2, so it'll be annoying when I play imports (since my model 2 is modded but my spare model 1 isn't). I do have a modified model 1, but I keep that at my mom's house on the other side of the country. :/

Yesterday I got the train back from Manchester to London to visit my mum. The time was mostly spent played Tetris DS (as well as the sudoku's in the paper). The thing was, my mum wasn't actually going to be home that day, so what better to do, I thought, then play some of my newer purchases for machines I leave at her place:
Rocket Knight Adventures - MegaDrive
I've heard lots of great things about this game and at the beginning it didn't strike me as particularly good but then the further I got the variety increased, with each part of the 3 stages I reached being pretty much completely different. This is a great game and I hope to revisit it soon and get through the rest of it.
Ganbare Neo Poke Kun - NeoGeoPocketColor
Managed to reset the data and started anew. Well, this is an odd one. A kindof virtual pet man is in a room and you can switch lights on and off and make people enter his room. The meat of the game is in the minigames which you unlock with time (? I don't really know how, doing stuff in the room might help?). So far unlocked 4. They've been quite nice so far but I'm still on the early ones so they're based on the really early pong era of videogames. I'm hopefully gonna spend some good time with this game :)
Today, I played more Ganbare and also:
Pocket Tennis Color - NeoGeoPocketColor
A fun game. Very simple, very basic, hardly any options and s ridiculously easy but I found myself coming back to it often throughout the day. Another good buy for the NGPC I think.

Had some free time this morning so I spent some time with the Saturn.
Asuka 120% Burning Fest. Limited - Saturn (JPN)
Capcom Generation 1 - Saturn (JPN)
Daytona USA Circuit Edition - Saturn (JPN)
I hadn't played Asuka 120% in a long time and really nowhere as much as the first week I picked it up but I played it for a couple hours today. About an hour playing National Park on Daytona USA Circuit Edition. Time with Capcom Generation 1 was spent playing 1943. I've probably played it the least of the other two games on the disc (1942, 1943 Kai) as it's been played to death in arcades over the years.

PC - Oblivion
This title has addicted me just as much as the rest of the series. Currently replaying through as an imperial monk / assassin. Mainly using alchemy, marksman and hand to hand for assassinating people with sneak. Also going to work points into Illusion to make a chameleon suit ;D. Probably going to go with all clothing for a challange, although specially made.
Xbox - Ninja Gaiden Black
Got my new 360 recently and it works like a charm. Really does run A LOT better than the other one, much more enjoyable. They actually did a nice job with the Ninja Gaiden Black update, I'm pleasently surprised. Cutscenes are kinda shitty, but the gameplay is super smooth. It really was shit the first time around, and now (up to the airship anyhow) it's been perfect.
Also downloading these 360 demos:
Battlefield 2
Burnout Revenge
Ghost Recon
I'll probably end up picking up Ghost Recon and Burnout tomorrow. I know I'll love Burnout, and it'll give me a reason to play the 360 a lot more. Ghost Recon I'm not too hot on, but all my friends at work LOVE it and have huge matches, so why not? Might as well make use of my live account.

I got a few more record-sized fish in Legend of the River King. My fishing memo is VERY close to being complete (although, I don't think there's a way to ever get a record-sized Guardian). Admittedly, I'm kind of sick of the game and eager to move on, but my obsessive-compulsive nature won't let me stop. :P
I also FINALLY finished off trying all the PlayStation games in the lot I bought quite a long time ago. Now I just need to clean them up, replace any broken cases, add them to my game list, and sell off the dupes. And bring a new bookcase in to put them on. :/

Now unlocked 7/30 mini-games but can't beat 2 of them, the Shinobi game and the stupid one where you launch the H upscreen.
I wanted to play a beat-em-up, specifically I really wanted a Capcom fighter to play on my Saturn but don't own any yet so without my Dreamcast here looked to see what else I could do, so tried Eternal Champions on the MegaDrive and was severely dissapointed again so resorted to:
King of Fighters R2 - NGPC
Haven't played this for years and looked at the records screen and apparantely I've beaten this 39 times before. I really like the look at feel of this still, was doing well with Ryo and Iori who I play with on Capcom vs SNK 2 but couldn't settle on a character I wanted as a 3rd team member. I used to play pretty much just as Kyo's team but didn't enjoy Kyo this time.
Also had a quick go on Virtua Racing on the MegaDrive but stopped because I really wanted to play Daytona but the TV the Saturn works on was occupied.

Went bowling this afternoon and spent a bit of time in the arcade afterward.
DDRMAX2 (DDR 7th Mix) - Arcade
Daytona USA - Arcade, DX pneumatic machines
SCUD Race / Sega Super GT - Arcade, DX pneumatic machines
Granted that the arcade there SUCKS. The bowling alley part is great, but the arcade blows - I haven't come across a Daytona USA machine with a bad accelerator in years. Like, it wasn't registering AT ALL and the morons there wouldn't put the machine out of order. I even offered to attempt a quick fix for them. LOL The other Daytona USA machines were junk in terms of their displays but ran fine.
The SCUD Race machines had shot displays, the speakers were crackling and shorting out, and the wheel was jammed to the left so it would ALWAYS fight to pull that way. They must have had the resistance motors near their threshold since it was starting to hurt my wrist by the third lap. A simple recalibration could have fixed it. Then when I went to disembark the cockpit didn't lock properly and dumped to the side. I should have fallen out and sued them.
DDR was a little better but both back arrows and the left side left arrow were prone to misregisters. Display needed to be capped but it was alright. Also on the way out I noticed that the bolts that they had up through the ground to secure the back of the platform, were bare. So there were two about 2" long screws sticking up through the ground on the back side of the platform. x_x Oh well, 7th Mix is my favorite aside from the now hard to find Korean 3rd Mix machines that used to be common as dirt. It's mainly more modern DDR songs but at least they're all pretty good ones.

Ahhhh, fun times. I picked up an arcade stick for my Saturn last night and have been playing my arcade games with it. It's so much better than playing with a controller! I've been playing a lot of Space Invaders and Tetris.
I may start replaying Doom 3 soon, only this time on the hardest setting.

Full Auto Rocks.
I think I like it so much is because it reminds me of Spy Hunter......

Xbox 360 Call of Duty 2
Last night in my Call of Duty 2 progress the Tiger Tank level would not load..took 15 minutes to move the progress indicator to the end then it never loaded it gets halfway through loading then drags to the end......I flipped out.
.I stood up to 4 AM trying to get it to load..I kept trying and later it just froze the 360 up..
So then I put in a code to bypass that level(opens up all the levels) that I left off at and the levels afterward load no problem,I played through two of them.
What I think I did is I glitched it..The 360 saved the previous level ending wrong and is having a problem loading the save..I need to play the level before the Tiger Tank level and complete it again, then see if the Tiger Tank level will load..
Could just be the disc..IMO. :/
Today I'm going to try all the games I have for it and see if any of them give me loading problems..So far Full Auto works flawlessly..

Haven't had the time to really sit back and enjoy a game in a few days due to over sleeping, work, and school. I have to get a few assignments done tonight then I should be good to go for the weekend and playing games.
All I can really claim to playing was poping in some of the games I found the other day into their systems and test them out. They all work splendid and am quite happy with what I got. Some of the titles I tested were:
-Mega Man 8
The game feels alright. I don't follow too much of the Mega Man series (mainly because I find it too hard and sucks when I can't duck). I'm use to the "select a stage and fight that boss" type of selection from the start so it felt a bit wierd.
-Blast Radius
For a few seconds I felt like I was playing X-Wing for the PC (minus the death stars and all). It was a great feeling and the game was pretty fun. The only problem was my ship runs off fuel (in the future... gas still?) so I blew up after running out. Strange way to die in space.
-Darkstalkers: the Night Warriors
Was expecting a nice fighting game and somewhat got that. The characters seemed a bit pixelated to me and I cracked for awhile to figure out specials and other moves and failed to do so. Maybe when I get the time to play it I'll learn the moves better.
-Soulbade X
Pretty odd fighting style, like the first virtua cops. I like to watch people play the Soul Caliber games and never really got to play it myself. I got my ass handed to me against the first computer and had to laugh. It felt a bit slow moving at first but I'll have to see about this later as well.
-Mega Man X4
Pretty decent graphics and once again with a beginning story mode choosing characters. Didn't know what to expect and it seems quite fluid. I liked the hack and slash Zero does, felt like a roboto shinobi.
-Lode Runner
Never seen the game before but had heard of its name. I grabbed it not knowing what to expect and its a bit wierd. At first I was thinking some sort of lemmings game with the large, zoomed out 2D levels, then like I was playing some adventure game, like Pitfall or Heart of Darkness. Need to look into the gameplay a bit more because I was stumped with what to do in the second level.

Forgotten Realms : Demon Stone
-I'm in the Underdark now. The game would have been better with multiplayer co-op, but I like it.
