Today:
Katamari Forever - PS3
After about 20 or so levels the game finally lets you loose on a stage where you get to roll up towns etc and it felt so so good.
Super Stardust HD - PS3
Completed the 3rd planet.
Racer - iPhone
Finally beat level 20. Only to find out there's a final challenge, to do about 15 levels in a row without dying. Sigh. I thought I'd finished the lame career mode.
And since I haven't updated this in about a week, here's the other significant games I've played:
Yakuza 2 - PS2
Now about 21 hours in. I love this game and love the side quests too.
Bejeweled Blitz - iPhone
Got within 2000 points of my top score with 201,000 points, then smashed it with a whopping 227,000! Then a coupla days later completely aced myself by scoring 295,000! The end of the run I could have scored more than that though, which is a shame as I would have pushed past 300k.

Mega Man II - Wii (NES Virtual Console)
Well, its the first MegaMan I've ever played, and I only got it because they were giving away a free NES VC game before the New Year. It was a pick between this, Mario1, Mario3 and Zelda1. And I decided to get this. Maybe because one of my friends has it. Anyway, I didn't really play it until now. Played about an hour. The whole "choose your level" thing and the way you get new weapons is quite novel. I've done 3 levels. Randomly. But then got stuck on a coupla others. I'm not sure whether I'll carry on.
Super Stardust HD - PS3
Didn't get further on planet4. I'll blame the whisky....
Shatter - PS3
I haven't played this since I got it and completed it but it proved once again to be brilliant. While I only see Super Stardust as okay (or mediocre), I really enjoy this in all its aspects.
And well, I also played my fair share of Wurdle and Bejeweled Blitz on the iPhone today. I'm thinking its time to get a new word game so may download Bookworm soon.

I already have way too many games to play on my Nintendo Wii, between retail, WiiWare, and Virtual Console. Heh heh. It's a good thing I don't have that much play money these days.
Right now, I'm going through Neutopia 2 (TG-16) on Virtual Console. I'm in the mood for a really fun game in the classic Zelda style, and Neutopia fits the bill perfectly. It reminds me a lot of the old-school values the recent Zelda games have lost, the overworld, the combat, the action.
Devil's Crush is my other Turbografx standby on VC. I've always loved this pinball game and I've raved about it for years and years and years. Hasn't aged a day in my eyes. That new Alien Crush game on WiiWare? A bit of a disappointment, to be perfectly honest. Devil's Crush still had it beat.
My go-to Wii game these days? Just Dance. Now I know this game is hated by the "hardcore" gaming sites, but bear with me here. Just Dance is an excellent game. The songs are widely varied, covering the '60s to today, and everything from Surfing Bird and The Beach Boys to '70s disco, '80s pop, '90s rock, and modern pop tunes from Gorillaz to Fat Boy Slim to Brittney (yeah, I know). And they've got MC Hammer - and the dancer wears the Hammer Pants. The dancers wear a lot of goofy period costumes, in fact, keeping everything tongue-in-cheek and fun.
Just Dance is a classic arcade game at its core. You hold the Wiimote in your right hand and follow the dancer on-screen. The scoring is based on controller momentum, and keeping the beat. The game is actually quite sneaky. Sometimes it judges your hitting the beat, sometime it judges your final pose, sometimes it judges your movement towards the pose. Sometimes it even checks to see if you're standing still. It's more subtle and varied than Dance Dance Revolution, taking advantage of the motion controls.
The scoring system is quite strict, but you can score, and more importantly, you can learn. You'll get a lof of X's early on, but you will turn those numbers around very quickly if you're paying attention. As I've said, the game judges velocity and momentum. If you're not scoring moves, be patient, follow the dancer carefully, and slow down. If I can do this, you can do this.
I hope this isn't rambling. I just wanted to help communicate how Just Dance works to some genuine gamers. This is THE exercise and party game of the season. I think this is the next step beyond the older rhythm games like DDR and Guitar Hero, which challenges you to press buttons. This is more involving, more three-dimensional, and I think it opens the door for real improvisation, the way Wii Music opens up improvisation and breaks the Guitar Hero mold.
Anyway, I wanted to share that with you, and I hope it's helpful. If you have any questions, just ask and I'll do my best to help.

For what feels like the millionth time, I'm trying to once again get back into Infinite Undiscovery on Xbox 360 after abandoning it for goodness knows how long. Last I left off I had the whole world reopened to me and I was doing a lot of connecting and side quests, so that's exactly what I'm doing now as well. It's already growing tedious again, but learning some interesting details about the characters is keep me going. I have one last side quest to finish off in Fayel, and then I'm heading to even older towns.
I'm also still "playing" Star Ocean: Blue Sphere on my Game Boy Advance SP for the sake of my FAQ.

-Chip 'N Dale Rescue Rangers 2 - Beat the game for the first time. Just as good as the first one (and a little tougher - for example, the bosses are a bit more challenging).
-Chip 'N Dale Rescue Rangers - Wound up playing through this again after beating Rescue Rangers 2. Btw, I played through both games with Chip.
-Wolverine - I beat this game a few months ago. However, I wasn't as fortunate today.
-Pac-Man (Tengen)

I'm still plugging away at Infinite Undiscovery on Xbox 360. I finished up in Burgusstadt, got a couple treasures in the field, went to Nolaan for its locked treasure and to connect with everybody, and now I'm back in Halgita, the last town I have to do before progressing the plot of the game. I saved the worst for last, though, as it's so annoyingly long to connect with everybody in this town. I've been doing some Item Creation while I'm here, since I had a fair bit of cash, but at this point it drains most of my money just making a few of the most powerful weapons. I have two side quests to do here, and one of them will get me some more money at least.

Today:
Soul - Xbox 360 Live Indie Games
Just tried out the demo, the graphics/style is really good and the atmosphere is all there. Played in the dark with the volume up and it really creeped me out. I didn't complete the demo (don't know if it has a set number of screens or just on a timer though) and the game scared me too much that I don't want to play the full game. When I get more points though I'll through them the developers way because its really well done.
Chime - Xbox 360 Live Arcade
Instead I put my points towards this. Apparantely 60% goes to charity and its a great puzzler with a musical theme featuring 5 tracks/levels by really good artists (well, I hadn't heard of one of them before). I went through all the tracks on 9 minute mode then played the Philip Glass level on freeplay for about half an hour before stopping. Good stuff.
Recent notables:
Bookworm - iPhone
I was getting a bit bored of Wurdle but wanted another word game to play in quick doses so got this its by PopCap so quality guaranteed.
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars - DS
About 5-6 hours in and 25% complete according to the in-game stats. Really enjoying it. The missions seem more unique, the game is suited well to the system and the drug dealing side of it is quite addictive. I did check out GTA IV again on the Xbox to see if this does bring "the full GTA experience to a handheld" and well, it does not. Half the joy of GTA4 was experiencing the sights and feel of Liberty City which doesn't translate to the top-down viewpoint and lack of speech.
Katamari Forever - PS3
Quite near the end I think. I've done the really huge level thats on the same world as the old game which was great fun but then there's this new really huge level where you don't get as big but is on a different map and the items are much sparser so after a few goes I couldn't do it.

I finished everything I was doing in Halgita in Infinite Undiscovery on Xbox 360, so I'm finally progressing the plot. I'm half way through Castle Valette right now. I don't know how much time I'll be spending on the towns once I get the opportunity to head back (hopefully they didn't update the dialogue so I can just do the secret Item Creation quests and be done with them), but I'm definitely getting close to the end.

I actually got a Game Over in Infinite Undiscovery on Xbox 360, so that was pretty surprising. I almost got a second one too, in fact. I finished Castle Valette and that was no sweat at all, but the Plodhif Caverns caught me off guard a couple times since Capell is going solo until he meets up with the team again. I'm so accustomed to not paying that much attention to battling because it's been so easy, and if I run low on HP, the AI always heals me up. Even if Capell dies, the AI is pretty good about reviving him before it turns into a Game Over. Well, I got to the save point at the end of Plodhif and I went back through it to collect the treasure I couldn't get with just Capell, so now I'm ready to enter the next area, which will bring me up right to the final areas and also to a teleporter back to town. Now to just see if the towns will be a massive timesink again or if there's not much new in them.

Katamari Forever - PS3
Finished! The last few levels were great both gameplay and story wise. Then I checked out some of the new graphical filters and the new Katamari Drive mode (and Classic mode on the gingerbread level!) This game seems to have so much more content to give.
Star Prince (Retro Game Challenge) - DS
Right, so I got to Loop 2 Area 2 without losing a life! I had stockpiled 12 by that point (and got a "secret bonus" of 2 million points) but then lost 4. then lost a few more of area 3. And then area 4 finished me off before I got to the boss. I was trying to use the correct shot type on loop 2 because it is hard but maybe I should stick to using the P shot and using the shield a lot. Loop 2 is hard. Its annoying that you have to get through loop 1 to play it. A medium/hard difficulty select would have been nicer.

Still can't get to the last boss on the second loop. But while this was in I played...
Robot Ninja Haggleman (Retro Game Challenge) - DS
And make it halfway through the 2nd loop. I still think I can beat both these games second loops.
Mushihime-sama Futuri - Xbox 360
Been a while since I played this. Did ver1.5 original as Reco Normal and tried out both Palms. Got to level 3 a couple of times. On Black Label Original (as Palm) I can now get to level 3 consistently. That level is hard though. I engaged practice mode (for the first ever time) and can't even beat it with 2 lives! Its a lot of fun though. Also played Black Label God mode with Palm because that is just really fun. Level 1 boss kept besting me though.
Mega Man II - Wii (Virtual Console)
Did all the normal levels/bosses. Then on to the whatever endgame. Annoyingly you need to use the items and if you muck up and can't recharge - well, thats it. So gave up. Did play this for over 2 hours though!
Chime - Xbox 360 Live Arcade
Went through the 3 middle levels on free mode to get 100%. One more level to go. I don't think I'm even going to attempt getting 100% on any of the timed modes.

I left Plodhif Caverns in Infinite Undiscovery on Xbox 360 and entered the Pieria Marshlands. I made quick work of the dragon in there, although I had to load when I accidentally destroyed a chest during the battle. The second time around I made sure to open all of the chests in the area before I got to fighting, even though I had to take a little bit of a pummeling in the meantime. Then I continued on and watched the long sequence of cutscenes, rejoined with the party, and saved. Now with the teleporter activated, I can head back to Kolton.

Mushihime-sama Futari - Xbox 360
Did quite a bit of Ver1.5 original as normal Reco. Got to stage 3 quite consistently, scoring better than I have before. So then entered stage 3 practice mode. Learnt quite a lot but with 2 lives set I could only make it past the mid-boss a handful of times. Back to real mode and I annoyingly always lost a life (or 2) on the stage 2 boss, even though I know I can beat him without losing any lives. And then invariably lost my last life on something stupid before I could put my stage 3 practice to good use.
Aquanaut's Holiday: Hidden Memories - PS3
Went back to this after a big break (it seems I'd previously done 8 hours...) and discovered a few new things. Still couldn't complete the chapter so resorted to looking online and found out where I had to go. I'd spent so long previously trying to find the one little bit of map I hadn't visited it was so annoying. So saved and will try again another day.
Other bits recently:
Chime - Xbox 360 - did the 5th course 100% in freeplay. All 100% in freeplay now :)
Bejeweled Blitz - iPhone
Real Racing - iPhone - did a few courses on the 2nd difficulty. This game is really really good. However, enemy AI isn't. Tried out the demo of Ferrari GT because I thought it'd be just as good but its horrible. Making me realise that Real Racing isn't just good because its the only proper racing game I have on the iPhone, but that its actually a well put together, solid, quality title.

Ridge Racer Accelerated - iPhone
I've wanted this for a while but held out due to mixed reviews. But then thought I should just give it a go anyway. Initially I didn't like it, I couldn't control it, the graphics weren't as good as Real Racing and there is no sense of speed. However, once I found a car I liked, switched to in-car view (I had to do this to enjoy RR on the PSX as well) the I got into it and came first in both the included courses. I should probably try to beat the reversed courses and try out the Class 2 cars as well before moving on to purchasing the DLC.
Mushihime-sama Futari ver1.5 - Xbox 360
Only a little bit. Kept making bad mistakes before I got to stage three. The game put far too much adrenaline in me so I needed to calm down, so I played...
Aquanaut's Holiday - PS3

I thought I caught a break in Infinite Undiscovery on Xbox 360 when I saw that nothing was updated in Kolton, Halgita, and Port Zala besides the Item Creation quests they added, which I completed a couple of, but I was surprised to see that Fayel had been completely updated. So I won't be rushing to finish the game just yet. I'll take the time to connect with everyone there, and I still have to check out Sapran, Burgusstadt, and Nolaan. Hopefully those others weren't updated and I can get on with beating the game. I also went through Bihar Mines for the first time in forever because I read that there was a locked chest in there. I found that easily, but what was really stumping me was this one chest showing up in the middle of nowhere on the map. I thought I had somehow missed filling in part of the map, but it turned out to just be a very sneaky out of reach chest.

I'm on the road again, and weather is terrible. Can't wait to get home this weekend, so I can work on some PS3 titles some more. Dante's Inferno is waiting for me at Gamestop, with the pre-order bonus statue.
On the road, I picked up Prince of Persia for my PSP. I've only got a few minutes into it, but I'll have more time tonight. I'm also playing Crisis Core again.
