Today, I decided to pop in "Real-Life Chronicles" and give it a shot. I took my character outside and shoveled the driveway before chainsawing logs into thirds to feed into the wood splitter. This raised my physical stats up quite a bit. Then, I noticed that my hygiene stat was dropping rather fast, so I threw my character into the shower. Thank God that his junk is patched over like a Ken doll! :S Afterwards, I then commandeered a vehicle and drove into the nearest town to pick up supplies. My bartering skill is quite high, so I was able to get the supplies at a price lower than normal. When I arrived back home, my character's energy was quite low, so I had him make some nachos and chicken wings. That fixed things up right away!
I played a little bit more before deciding that that was enough for the day. Maybe I'll try some more tomorrow morning. :)

Boy, Boomer's Adventure in ASMIK World was kicking my butt for the last couple days, but I finally got my revenge and beat it on my Game Boy Advance SP just a few minutes ago. The last set of stages was pretty brutal, as was the boss at the top of the tower, but it was nice having the stages get easier as I climbed back down. The bosses all get harder on the way down, though, but only the final boss proved to be a real frustration. Well, I guess that's one last game beaten before the year's end, I guess the last one for the decade too.

Totally different developer, dude. You'd be better off checking out Resonance of Fate when it comes out, which is also a tri-Ace game like Star Ocean 4.
Anyway, I just got back from Magfest yesterday, and what a weekend that was. I didn't do a ton of gaming, though. I just played some Centipede via Atari Anniversary Advance on my Game Boy Advance SP and Centipede on the cabinet that was there. I'm kind of bummed that I couldn't get the high score, which I was really aiming to do if the cabinet made a return. They even had some high score challenge going on all the retro arcade cabinets. But I was so busy with other stuff the whole time that I barely got a chance to get a crack at it, and when I was ready to play, it seemed like somebody else was always playing. Plus there's the fact that I'm not so used to a trackball since I've played it with a d-pad so much more. I did claim the high score on Friday, with a score of 50,000-some, but that was no biggie since the settings weren't on the default. Rather than two lives, it started with four. I'm not sure how high the top score climbed, but I know it was at 130,000 late Sunday night. Given that my personal best is 106,000 on the default settings, I know I could've beaten the other person's score given the extra two lives at the start if I pulled off a good game. Not much consolation, but oh well. :P

Played two one-on-one online matches against a friend. Typically she'll win the first match, I'll win the second and then we'll do a third as a tiebreaker, but this time I kicked her butt all over the place in the first match and we tied in the second, then called it a night.

Smackdown vs Raw 2010
Fallout 3 GotY
Brigandine Legend of Forsena
Fallout 3 is an awesome game. I never would have purchased it if a GotY edition wasn't released with all the DLC. However, it doesn't matter much if I didn't have all the DLC anyways as it still would have been worth it. I've been playing atleast 20 hours and from the amount of area covered it looks I've hardly covered anything. Still have the entire other half as well as top of the games world to explore.
Smackdown vs Raw 2010 is also good. The first Smackdown vs Raw I've played sucked and really didn't interest me much, back with the one button reversals and actually knowing how to use the grappling system due to a training session that comes up on start up. There are hardly any loading times this time around.
Also. While it's not as good as Smackdown 2 or Smackdown Here Comes the Pain, the game still is a very good game. The combat system is the reason why it's not as good as those as it doesn't have as much depth to it. However, the amount of modes in this new title are amazing. Online is another amazing aspect and creating your own season of WWE is another awesome added feature(which I haven't used, but yeah.)

I hadn't played much GameCube stuff in awhile so I hooked it up and sampled 4 games, most of which I find I suck at since I'm rusty on this system. I played...
Animal Crossing--Lots of bugs in my house. I thought I might have a gift in my mailbox since I last played before Christmas but no...
Namco Museum 50th Anniversary--I played Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man and Mappy. I love Mappy...you'd think I hate it since I'm a cat person but no...
Swingerz Golf--Boy did I suck at this. Played 18 holes and came in last.
MVP Baseball 2004--this is my favorite of the two editions that came out for the GC. MVP 2005 seems to have cut out some cinemas. I got a trade offer...Mark Texeira for Tike Redman! I took the offer though Texeira wasn't the superstar then that he is now.
So what GC games can I play today?

Yesterday:
Aquanaut's Holiday: Hidden Memories - PS3
Still on the 4th part of the Voices quest. I got a bit further but then couldn't progress. So instead did quite a few of the singing challenges in that area - I'm getting quite far at them, around level 10 and its pretty hard now. I kindof want to progress the story though but not sure how.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - PS3
Did up to the train part. Its still pretty good - not as awesome as everyone makes out. And I had to replay quite a bit on the train so it was annoying me. I've left it saved at that chapter progression in the tunnel.
Today:
Mushihime-sama Futari - Xbox 360
A bit of 1.5 but mostly Black Label, Original, as Palm. Got to level 3 again. Tried God mode, wasn't very good today so gave up to play:
Ketsui Death Label - DS
And finally beat Very Hard mode on this. It only took 26 attempts. It was indeed very hard. I was a bit annoyed that the game unlocked Death Label for me before I beat Very Hard. I got down to the last 1/8th of Doom's life bar and died there a few times. And on my final run through I somehow made it to Doom with 8 lives left so easily finished him off, I'd previously only got there with 3. The trick in this game is bombing. It gives you loads of points and if you finish a boss without dying then you get 4 bombs at the start of the next one. Anyway, I tried Death Label a bunch of times and its a huge step up in difficulty. I don't like how the bullet colours and boss order has changed from Very Hard though. I have only made it 4 or 5 bosses in - but then again I haven't unlocked the full 20 lives yet and haven't sussed out the patterns of the bosses I have reached.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Xbox 360)
Didn't really play much of anything, but I did finally get around to enchanting my primary character's Perfect Madness Claymore. The newly-christened sword "Requiter" adds 15 points each of Fire, Frost and Shock damage, 9 points of Drain Health and Soul Trap on strike. I enjoyed watching it make marauders appear to explode with one strong hit while trying it out.

Magfest must've fried my brain more than I thought because I had completely forgotten about the gaming I did just before it. I picked up two DS games, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and Blue Dragon Plus, for cheap thanks to GAC's daily Amazon deals thread, and I gave them both a go. Both seem pretty good, although I prefer the art and battle animations of Fire Emblem in the Super Famicom game. Blue Dragon Plus really threw me off with its unusual battle system. I was expecting a grid-based strategy RPG, but I'm actually happier that it's something more innovative.
We had a friend from Europe who was at Magfest with us stay at our house for almost a week, and tons of gaming was going on but I mostly just watched. It was really cool to introduce him to the Virtual Boy, though, since that system never got released over there at all. It was the first time I pulled my Virtual Boy out of the closet in probably at least a year or two, so of course I couldn't resist playing it some myself. I really stunk at Mario's Tennis, but I eventually got into the groove again.
There were also tons of cheesy arcade games going on via MAME, so I got in on one match of Jackie Chan in Fists of Fire.
By myself, I've been playing Atari Anniversary Advance on my Game Boy Advance SP, and I also started Ultima: Runes of Virtue for real, picking Shamino as my player, but considering I only wandered the map, I haven't exactly accomplished anything in it.
I've also slowly been trying out my other Secret Santa games. I popped in a bunch of the disc-based game and played Fahrenheit for Sega CD, The Ring on Dreamcast, Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus for PlayStation, The Bard's Tale for PlayStation 2, and Tales of Vesperia on Xbox 360. Lots of great stuff, and I still have even more left. :)

Another coupla attempts at the final level. Its far too intense. I hate it when you have the required number of stars but don't make it to the end of the level so lose.
Rez HD - XBox 360
So, I finally downloaded this. I loved the Dreamcast version. Played through all 5 stages. I don't remember the Tera forms of the bosses before - they were harder. There's lots of visuals in this HD version I don't remember from the Dreamcast. Also, with the 2nd controller as a trance vibrator (underneath my feet) its weird how the game shares out the rumble between them. Like when I played Outrun2SP on Live Arcade, I think the music on Boss 4 of this game seems to be lower quality than I remember. Still a complete rush though. This is one of my favourite games. I love how every time you play through you unlock everything - I never did unlock everything on the Dreamcast and now have to start again from scratch but its unlikely I'll play it that much now.

World Cup Italia '90 - Mega Drive
It was a horrible game back then, and is a horrible game now. Was fun though.
