Been cracking away at Super Puzzle Fighter II (Saturn) and hit up some Tales of Destiny (PS) for the last few days. Got a bunch of new games today for the N64 so I'll be testing those out and installing Command & Conquer the First Decade.

Brain Training - DS
Street Fighter Zero 2 Dash - Saturn
Tried out Sakura, seems like a good, easy to use character. The Saturn pad is indeed great for fighting games
Uggg, for some reason I struggle with fighters using sticks, much better with D-pads. :/
As for Brain Training, do you have other "thinking" games for the DS? One of my friends has been just burning time on Sudoku and use to play it on those on-line places. Man does he love the DS version. :)

Quake 4 360 ...I found some marks on the disc that I cleaned off and it cleared up the freezing ...
but the game won't load into another screen after going to an Exit..it freezes up..
I have to (try) and return the game for an exchange.
If the second copy doesn't work I may be retuning my 360..
All my other games work though..

Xbox 360
Went to Target that I bought Quake 4 from and though they agreed to the exchange they didn't have any in stock.
So they called around and found me a copy in another Target (said to have 3 in stock)....I get to that Target and they had no Quake 4's in the displays.....
Two employees went frantic to find the missing games(you go this way and I go that away) and found two/behind other games...The third is MIA..
I hope this one loads up right or my 360 is going back to EB..
I picked up Hitman Blood Money 360 too...

This Quake 4 works flawlessly..so it was the game.
Thing that stinks though: I get past where the other disc would not load and progress far and get to a huge boss that whoops me real quick . x_x .I die and I have to start all the way back at the last load-save..(where the other disc would not load)
It's way back...(Ridiculous)
I then just popped in

For brain training games, I've got a Japanese only release called "Unou no Tatsujin: Soukai! Machigai Museum" which is part of Namco's "brain training" series and is basically a spot the difference type game. It has some nice gentle modes and also some really hectic ones which have some nice innovations.
As for other "thinking" games i guess you mean non time-hectic puzzlers, in which case Shanghai and Polarium are pretty decent.
There's going to be a lot of other DS games coming out sometime which would fit the bill
As for what I've been playing:
Layer Section - Saturn
Played this with a friend and it was excellent fun. With 2 ships at once things get very hectic and hard to see whats going on. We both wish I'd brought one of my Dreamcast shooters with me as thats what i really wanted to show him

I haven't been playing games much lately, since I've been really down about getting totally screwed over on Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria. You see, I had the limited edition Artifact Box on pre-order for three months (two with Play-Asia, then I decided to cancel to switch to NCS thinking I would get better service), but price gougers screwed over NCS and they couldn't fill any of the pre-orders except at twice the price (nearly $300, instead of the $155 pre-orders were taken at). I definitely wasn't going to pay that, and it was already too late to get it from other import stores. Now I'm busting my butt trying to get a copy that doesn't cost an insane amount, but I likely will end up having to pay considerably more just because NCS doesn't deal with reliable suppliers. To add insult to injury, had I just stayed with Play-Asia, I would've gotten the Artifact Box with no problems.
So between that and lots of other bad news from work and elsewhere, I've been feeling pretty bleh and not in the mood to play anything.
However, I did play a little bit of Castlevania: Bloodlines and Rocket Knight Adventures on Genesis a few days ago, and I helped my boyfriend play Star Ocean 3 a little (the original Japanese version).
Yesterday I put a couple hours or so into Yakata: Nightmare Project on PlayStation. It's sort of RPG mixed with a murder mystery plot. It's definitely got a horror feel to it, but it's very different from a Resident Evil kind of game. I haven't seen any gore (besides a tiny bit of blood) or anything that would make me jump out of my seat, but it's still very creepy and mysterious. Definitely an interesting game. It's also got a lot of anime cutscenes and a surprisingly large amount of voice acting, pretty much for every important dialogue scene, which is more the kind of thing you'd see in a PS2 game than a PS1 release. The game is three discs long and I've only just begun, though, so I don't know if the plot will continue to center around the murder of the woman or not. Anyway, Spartacus very kindly sent me this game and Kakyusei on Saturn completely for free, and it's really cheered me up between all the problems with my Valkyrie Profile 2 pre-order and work and such. :)

I've been on a Neo Geo and Polygame Master mission this weekend.
I've been practising on King of Fighters '98, KoF 2003, Last Blade and Samurai Shodown! 2. Now I've found some worthy opponents, it's worth me really practising. However, I'm the only one using real SNK hardware; everyone else is using emulators on GP2X or Xbox. But still, it's better than nothing and it's nice to see others enjoying the games. I'm really impressed with how much everyone has been practising, tbh. They still prefer to come over and play on the consolised MVS though. Nothing beats real hardware and massive ROM carts.
I've also been enjoying some Run n' Gunnery with Demon Front, Metal Slug 3 and Metal Slug 5. And a bit of 2 player on Knights of Valour: Super Heroes and Sengoku Legends 2001.
And I finished off the weekend with a good blast on Pulstar and Blazing Star. The 1cc is coming, oh yes I can feel it.

Xbox 360 Quake 4 craziness..
I switch off the power to the 360 systems power supply(switch board) after I stop playing and I think it's keeping the clock from keeping the correct time such as the Xbox does.
Last Night I get past the long aggravating part where the previous disc plagued me with trouble..I beat two bosses and saved..But the 360 saved an old saved game in place of the new save so when I loaded up after dying I was set way back...I saved twice and both saves were overwritten by an old Aqueduct save..I didn't realize this at first when I went to go look for my current saved game it was gone only to show Aqueduct.
Ohh no..I have to start all the way back now as even many closer saved games have been overwritten by old saved..What I figure happened is somehow me saving the games with the time and dates always being similar the system got confused...or my using a cheat on the game is effecting it.
I found a save closer to where I left of and had to play the whole thing again..I used a cheat to get there faster, changed the time in my system and my current location seems to be there...
If I fire the system up today and the saves are gone..I'm going to be sick..

I'm still feeling rather down and thus not in the mood to game much, but I decided to get back into my Valkyrie Profile file I had to abandon back in January. I was surprised at just how far I was in the game; I forgot I was at the end of chapter 7. I left off in the Tombs of Amenti, which isn't exactly the best place to pick up the game at after months. However, I completed the dungeon and honestly didn't find it quite as frustrating as people make it out to be. I have nothing left to do in chapter 7 now, so I'll probably waste some periods going into the Forest of Spirits and building up my characters (in particular Nanami, who I'm going to send up this chapter).
I SHOULD be playing Valkyrie Profile 2, though. :/ Still no luck with that, and I haven't heard a peep from NCS, who appear to be acting like nothing ever happened.

I started this game last week before i visited my mum for a week. I was struck by just how out of date it is now, i'll probably purchase 2007 when it comes out. Anyway, last night did the 2nd half of my first season with Arsenal, finished 3rd, annoyingly. I think the first 4 places all were within 3 or 4 points of each other. And got knocked out of the Champions League in the semi-finals by Inter with a whopping 8-4 aggregate. This game still crashes a lot.

360 - Hitman: Blood Money
My favorite of the series. I love the missions in this game and the accidental deaths you can cause. Nothing better than the old man who "accidentally" fell off his balcony ;D. My favorite accidents are the ones where you replace the fake mauser pistol with a real one, and the actor shoots the opera tenor in the face, as well as the one where you rig a shooting flame system and it causes the woman to fall into the tank below where the shark eats her, lol.

Xbox 360 - Hitman: Blood Money
Finally got the last achievement tonight which was "Notorious". Raising noteriety to 100 was pretty damn hard! The second level opera house had so many corpses in one doorway it was horrible. I truly loved every moment of this game and it's my favorite of the series.
Xbox 360 - Burnout Revenge
I pretty much stopped all work on this title a LONG time ago but I'm getting back into it now. I've perfected every race in the first three events and am working on the next rank..."offensive" I believe. Getting a lot better.
Xbox 360 - Oblivion
Whatever extra time I've got I'm squeezing in sessions of this. My custom class is going pretty well...I kinda screwed myself not having an endurance based major skill, but what can ya do? Two nights ago I completed all the puzzle matches in Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo on the Saturn so everything is unlocked and the hidden characters are fun to kick around with. I've been spending about 30min a day or so playing the arcade game and just trying to stomp previous high scores, and I'm up to over 500,000 points. :D
Today I was trying out some of the new games I got and that's been fun. The Mega Man 8 game feels almost the exact same as the PS1 version, but I'm sure over time I'll see differences. Rampage World Tour is just as fun as ever, and is quite different than the N64 port. Then there's SCUD, it's insane and I can tell there will be lots of attempts in beating that game.
Then there's Command & Conquer Renegade, freaking awesome game. I've been kicking ass in there and watching my dad run through the levels like a hot knife cutting through butter. It's pretty sweet and has some great team match modes. I'm glad I got the C&C First Decade box. :)
