I've been enjoying playing this game,it's got a lot to it..But...Last night I got stuck ast a boss that I feel I've been pit against with the wrong weapontry..I can't go back far enough in the map to get the right weapontry.
No matter how much I try and what I hit the Boss with I die quickly..,,I must of re-loaded after dying 20 times before I gave up..
The thing is,I can't get the weapon I need because you start this level off empty handed, the weapon isn't on the map.

Finally bought Crysis, now that my rig is good enough to run it. Getting pretty good framerates on high settings, 1920x1080p. According to my FRAPS - I'm getting about 42fps, avg.

As for gameplay, this game is alot harder than I ever thought it would be. The enemy AI is a total bitch, and guys just appear from out of nowhere. And it takes a while to get used to all the nanosuit functions.

Yeah, it's just a composite cable with a splitter plug on one end. I'm amazed just the same that people can't put two and two together.

Decided to give my PS3 a rest and have been on an original Xbox tear lately, amassing lots of games at way cheap prices. Playing Fable The Lost Chapters. Just played most of the way through Mega Man 2 (NES) on the "Difficult" setting. Have completed the game many times before, but this time messed up on one of the late bosses in Wily's castle; the one with the five gun turrets that can only be destroyed with Crash Bombs. Misfired a bomb and ran out of weapon energy on it, so I just gave up. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow night or something...

It's been so long since my last post I'm not sure if I can even remember all my gaming, between the insanity of my birthday, PAX, a huge 30-some person get-together (all in a single family house!), a cross-country flight, starting up a new semester of school, and catching a cold.

Before my vacation ended, I did start up a game of Pikmin on GameCube, another game I've been wanting to replay. Well, actually it was more of a result of finding out how ridiculously expensive Pikmin 2 had become, kicking myself for not picking it up for $20 brand new all over the place a couple years ago, and refusing to pay the high prices these days. I figured I'd just go for the best ending in the original instead. I've been very careful about my time usage, and so far I've used up a few days and acquired several parts (can't remember exact details). I left off right when I discovered the Blue Pikmin, and it's been on hiatus for the last couple weeks.

I also played a little more Elite Beat Agents on DS to kill some time, and during the gathering, I played some Street Fighter Alpha and Salamander via emulation with my boyfriend, but I couldn't tell you which ones exactly. Oh, and we all did the usual pornographic arcade games too. :P I played some Lady Killer, which is more fun than you'd think a porn game should be, haha.

Back home, I finally got into my Game Boy collection again, and I pulled out my next game to conquer, which I had already planned out while on vacation - Metal Walker for Game Boy Color. I'm playing on my Game Boy Advance SP like usual. I've already put several hours into it since being sick just makes me feel like laying on my bed all day. It does get a little repetitive, but it's a pretty interesting concept. It feels like it's going to be a blatant Pokemon rip-off, but the pool-inspired battles are like nothing I've seen in any RPG before. My main beef with the game would probably be the frequency of random battles, but that's not an unusual complaint for RPGs. The landscapes also tend to all look the same because the game takes place on a destroyed wasteland of an island, which is both drab and kind of depressing. It's tough to tell just where the heck I'm going when I need to remember old locations to return to with new abilities. Oh well, I don't expect this to be the most memorable RPG I've played, but it'll at least keep me decently occupied and entertained during downtime at school.

I hung out with BobaFettHotep again last night. We had another NES point tournament and then an SNES points tournament with another friend that showed up right before we started.

NES:
-Super Mario Bros. (we decided to go through world 1-1 and whoever got the most points at the end of the level would win - BobaFettHotep won)
-Contra (co-op with no continues, BobaFettHotep finished with the most points)
-Pinball (I won)
-Burai Fighter (BobaFettHotep won)
-Ice Climber (just went through the first level, I won)
-Thundercade (BobaFettHotep won)
-TaleSpin (I played this just for fun)
-Pin Bot (I played this just for fun as well)

SNES:
-Super R-Type (BobaFettHotep won)
-Super Mario World (similar to SMB, we decided to see who could get the most points running through Yoshi's Island 1, and then Yoshi's Island 2. I won level 1, but BobaFettHotep beat me on level 2.)
-Phalanx (I won)
-Super Ghouls N Ghosts (BobaFettHotep won)

We also played some co-op Contra 4 on DS. Good times!

Ok, I've been playing Chaos Field for the Dreamcast for the last week. HOLY COW! This game is HARD. I definately think it's harder to beat that Ikaruga was. I took Ikaruga and Mars Matrix down both in a matter of a few weeks. Chaos Field has taken longer. I've made it to the final stage, atleast, so hopefully soon.

Good game. Very intense, even by shooter standards. I would say the only thing this game lacks is that there are no "normal" enemies. No large fleet of ships to take out. It's just boss after boss after boss.

I'll consider it a real accomplishment when I beat this game. Atleast it's bringing my shooter skills back up to where they used to be when I was playing Mars Matrix/Ikaruga a few years ago.

Just got some "new" games from Gamestop (cheap), love them both:

PS2 - Front Mission 4
I've been meaning to buy a Front Mission game every since I played a little of Gunhazard on emu like 6 years ago or something ridiculous like that. Passed up my chance to buy Front Mission 3 when it was out used--decided to break down and spend a whopping $5 on this one (took a little searching through bins to find a pseudo-mint copy though) but it was worth it. I heard it's not as good as 3...but I've never played it so I don't really care, haha.

GC - Megaman Network Transmission
I totally forgot about this game until I saw it in the cheap gs gamecube games thread in the discount/deals forum. Love it--as I've been hurting for some Megaman platforming action. I like the X series as well as the Network series--so this was a great combo. Haven't gotten far at all but I am enjoying it for sure. Also love the fact that they pretty much kept all the Japanese voices for this game, subtitling them in English. Some might say lazy, but I think it's a treat! No suffering through terrible English voice acting!

Also the SNES is plugged in again...

SNES - Super Mario World
Seems like a couple people are playing this recently too. Love this game. Never had it as a kid (owned a Genesis) and only played it at friends. Nice to actually sit down with this one. Been giving it some good amount of gametime...now at the Bowser castle. This could be my favorite mario of time (aside from the first)?

SNES - Gradius III
Got this awhile back, like SMW but haven't gotten to give it some good gametime till now--very fun, but also frustrating at times. Haven't really gotten too far above 100,000 yet (i know, im horrible). But i've discovered OPTION is your friend.
