XBox: Crimson Skies- Loved the PC game. This game is awesome on the Xbox, despite the dumbed down arcade style controls. No rudder control? Booooo!

PS2: Heroes of The Pacific- I <3 this game!!!! Just picked this game up today as I was in the mood for a more "realistic" vintage air combat game after playing Crimson Skies. It took me a while to get the hang of the controls. What's that? Rudder control! Yay! Dare I say this is a WWII version of Ace Combat. Super fun so far!

This game is excellent fun! If only the volume could go a little louder as you really need to hear the music well and on loud trains its a problem.

Not so sure about this yet. Just played a tiny bit. Its like Breakout meets Puzzle Bobble and styled like Puyo Puyo (even though this is the PAL release it has the Japanese voiceovers in game, which I could do without, infact, I could do without the whole Puyo-Puyo esque styling)

In Final Fantasy Origins on PlayStation, I explored Fynn Castle a bit more in Final Fantasy II. I got the White Mask, then went to Mysidia, finished off the Tropical Island dungeon to get the Black Mask (doing it all backwards by going to the village last unintentionally), then I completed the cave by Mysidia to get the Crystal Rod. Now I'm ready to start the area in the intestines (I assume it's a whale like in Pinocchio; I only peeked a little ahead). Hopefully this next area isn't heavy on those slimy blob enemies like the last few areas were. It's really hard to kill them with physical attacks, and they're a pain to kill with magic too since most have a fair bit of HP and they tend to only be weak against one specific type of spell.

Hey, what do you know, I'm back for a moment - well, until two weeks from now, anyway...

NES - Hudson's Adventure Island
NES - Sky Shark
Arcade - Sky Shark

Made another run through Hudson's Adventure Island (the cartridge this time, not via emulation on the Dreamcast), may have read a thread I created about it a couple weeks ago. Sky Shark is for my next Retrogaming Times Monthly NES'cade article. I forgot how much I dislike the arcade version. hehe

Super Mario Land - GB
Emu'd on my DS, started to play this thanks to the thread here but obviously i'm not as good as everyone else

I have a fairly long review over at my site. I saw that thread too but didn't post in it as I'm trying to conserve a bit of bandwidth. LOL

RoboWarrior is kind of interesting, though. It's like a combination of Bomberman and Blaster Master (well, it should be like Bomberman, at least, since it's some sort of spin-off).

Love the game myself - Bomberman on steroids and what the "quest" mode in the more recent Bomberman games should have been like. A couple of the boss fights are pretty intense.

Finished Cat & Ana (which had excellent music/styling) so onto the final Jimmy remix before the last bit. This game has been great, not as good as Touched though - but your first WarioWare is always going to be the best...

Sonic The Fighters - PS2
Had a little go at this - which i got Sonic Gems Collection for. The ring sound when anyone gets hit is annoying and i've been button mashing then i get beat - I try and pull off some moves but I'm doing the standard 2D fighter things which dont do anything and then it feels like sonic so i just want to run, spin dash and jump on their heads!

Well, I guess my assumption was wrong because the intestines, stomach, and mouth I traversed in Final Fantasy II via Final Fantasy Origins on PlayStation belonged to Leviathan, not a whale. I should've seen that coming. :P It was just a small diversion, though, and now I'm hacking away at the Tower of Mysidia. I've had to warp out twice now to refresh my party and sell off unneeded stuff (I HATE limited menus that store key items as well as everything else; I'm sure I have at least ten slots [out of 60-some] used up on key items I can't get rid of). The last thing I did in the tower was defeat the thunder boss, and going by how many items I've collected, I guessing I'm close to polishing off the dungeon.

One funny thing is that I made a stop in Poft/Paloom (whichever is closer to Altair), which is kind of out of the way for my current quest, and I noticed that the townspeople dialogue had been updated nonetheless since the recapturing of Fynn. Well, anyway, one of them said that Mysidia was a far off "content" instead of "continent". Way to go localizers. :P I see they got more lazy when it came to dialogue that they didn't expect the average player to go out of their way to see, hehe.

I was gonna post an update about my progress in Final Fantasy II via Final Fantasy Origins on PlayStation last night, but I ended up closing the wrong tab in Firefox on accident. :/ Anyway, I finished off Mysidia Tower, and I killed off the emporer in the Cyclone in a rather lackluster, anti-climactic battle (this game seems to make all the events that it builds up as significant ultimately rather anti-climactic, like recapturing Fynn Castle and getting the Ultima spell). Then I went through Palamecia Castle, reaching Leon/Dark Knight at the top, watched, in all its cheesy glory, as the emperor came back from hell with "ultimate power" which instantly made Leon decide to be good again for no apparent reason and join my party. Now I'm about to enter the Jade Passage to I guess find a way to get to the castle that the emperor is in now. I imagine I'm pretty close to the end of the game at this point (and I also imagine Leon will permanently remain in my party), but it's funny how most people who have played this game say it takes around 17-22 hours to complete, and I'm already well over 30. I know I'm one to usually really take my time in an RPG, but since there's not much to do in this game but progress the story, I've actually been moving at a pretty brisk pace I think. Although, I must admit that there have been a few occasions where I had to leave the game on and do something else for awhile, which may have all together added a few extra hours.

I had other plans today but they kinda got ruined, so I ended up playing some more Final Fantasy II via Final Fantasy Origins on PlayStation. I'm working on the Jade Passage, but I've been getting a lot of Game Overs because the worm enemies in this area royally kick my butt. I can handle a battle with a couple, but the ones with four or more pretty much always result in certain doom for my party. I've been making temp saves left and right to avoid having to repeat a lot, and I've warped out of the dungeon a couple times to refresh my party. I think I got down to the fourth floor, but since I warped out, I'll have to quickly try to make my way down there again.

Had a game night on Friday. I picked up a few more controllers to hopefully play some 5 player Turbo Grafx 16. :) After getting the Turbo setup, I played some Rondo of Blood, Bonk and Gate of Thunder waiting for folks to show up.

After my first guest arrived we played a little Dugeon Explorer, Battle Royal and Final Lap Twin. Then we hung out for a bit until we have 4 players. After that we popped in Bomberman. Multiplayer Bomberman really is awesome--and it got even better when a 5th player showed up! Of course it didn't hurt that I won most of the time. We kept playing Bomberman until my dog farted, effectively clearing the room!

So we went into the other room to play some Guitar Hero. I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir, but man this is a great party game. Here's where my friend Alan is just a machine, so the rest of us are lucky to get a third of his score. Still, we had a lot of fun.

Then we switch to Magical Drop III on Neo-Geo. This is the first time I really gave multiplayer a go and this really is a fun "versus" puzzler. Again, it helps that I won most of the time...

After most folks left, my buddy and I tried out a bit of the download vs. play on New Super Mario Bros. Both the SMB style collect ther stars game and the Mario Party style mini games were pretty cool...

Tried out the first Panzer Dragoon last night for the first time ever (couldn't sleep) and ended up staying up an extra 2hrs, but it was all worth it. I was getting my ass kicked and served until the 3rd new game on normal I pulled out my arcade stick and set the fastest rapid turbo fire.

Besides that though, I played some Mario Land on the GB (ahh memories) and checked out that Spanish translator thing, interesting and will bring it along I guess or study it a bit more.

Bomberman DS and Mario vs. Donkey Kong on GBA, very fun games and have gotten quite a bit of gameplay out of thus far. I'm pleased and can't wait for the MvDK 2 DS to launch.

What I'd like to play is further into Tales of Destiny when I get a chance because I'm still just 12hrs into it. I was cracking away at two games yesterday:
Bomberman (NDS): made it to the second world and keep resetting the game a million times over. It sucks when you die and there's no save state between levels. I know I have a bunch of items qued up in my inventory but when going against a boss, if you die you can't use your upgrades so you're suck with crap for awhile.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong (GBA): Now on the 4th world of this game. It's really freaking fun and it appears to be very simple to get extra lives. When the sequal gets released for the DS I'll be all over it, really kick ass. It's so nice all the moves they made available to you for solving the mazes/puzzles.

Pretty much playing just the 360 ATM.

Dead Rising - Got two achievements left to do which will require A LOT of time, so I don't know when I'll get to them. Gotta do Transmissionary and 7 day survivor.

Prey - Borrowed this from one of my friends. It's pretty cool, but nothing mind blowing. It's defenitely been fun so far, I'm up to chapter 9. I tried out the multiplayer before quitting and my GOD was it horrifying. I don't know if I got in a bad match, but the latency seems as horrible as what people were saying when it came out.

Chromehounds - I'm playing the shit outta this title ATM. It's really fun since I hooked up with my old high school buddies and there's about 10 of us in the squad. It's really fun jumping on, chatting while building hounds and blowing shit up ;D! So far I've built an inverse soldier with two heavy cannons, a sniper with 4 sabre cannons, and a scout with nothing but anti hound piles.
