Played through Metal Slug on the PS2 Anthology yesterday. Was great fun. Forgot loads of bits and loads of details. This game sure is a visual feast. Shame it was diluted by so many sequels.

Today, I've only played a handful of Dodonpachi Daifukkatsu ver1.5 on my Asian Xbox 360. Still can't get the 1CC. Made it up to the last boss again though. Stage 5 is so long and punishing on this game though. I should time it. I reckon its as long as all the other stages put together! (And a hell of a lot harder!)

I finally finished cleaning and testing all of those Nintendo 64 games. I played some Banjo-Kazooie, Mario Tennis, Mischief Makers, Mission: Impossible, Knockout Kings 2000, Star Wars Episode I: Racer, Waialae Country Club, Madden 2000, and Wave Race 64. I did something kinda silly with Mischief Makers. The copy I just recently acquired is nicer than my old one, so I was going to replace mine. However, while I was testing both copies, I saw the files on my old one were almost 10 years old with my fiance's one from when he was 22 and my own with the file title "Tina<3Andy" from when I was just 19. I felt kind of sentimental about the files, so I actually swapped the boards in the carts. It's silly because I have files that even date back to my childhood, but the combination of naming the files and having to put your age makes it more of a time warp.

Oh, and I actually was only playing Wave Race 64 again because I felt like it. It's too bad that my own copy is in a whole other state, so I'm enjoying this one a little before it ships off.

Pac Man Championship Edition DX: I had a lot of fun playing the hell out of it this weekend. It's half off this week ($5) and well worth it.

Battlefield 1943: Played a little tonight. Surprised to see a full game (12 vs. 12). Haven't played for a year.

Halo 2: Thought I'd give Legendary a shot. (After I die 20 times on a checkpoint) Nope. Put that one away.

F-Zero GX: Tried it for the first time in 5 years or so. Damn is that game hard. I remember it launched the same day as Soul Calibur 2. I bought both and ended up neglecting F-Zero pretty much since (imagine that). I can't even win ONE race. Pathetic.

Lately, I've been playing EarthBound for SNES. First time going through it and it's been a really fun experience thus far! A lot more in-depth than I would have thought.

I haven't been playing it every day but, when I do, I record large chunks of gameplay once or twice a week and release 10-15 minute videos daily of gameplay with commentary.

Lately I have been getting into the Gameboy, so I have been playing like the entire Gameboy library. It rocks! I like Maru's Mission, Super Mario Land 1-3, Bomberman GB, Aretha, Tetris, Castlevania Adventure, Belmont's Revenge, Contra, Altered Space, Cosmo Tank, Balloon Kid, Adventure Island II, Shiren the Wanderer, Wizardry Gaiden, Wario, Dragon Warrior 1 & 2, Dragon Warrior III, Dragon Warrior Monsters 1 & 2, Gargoyle's Quest, Zelda: Link's Awakening, R-Type, Gradius: Intersteller Assault, Nemesis, Revelations: The Demon Slayer, baseball, Little Nicky, Star Saver, Fortified Zone, Mystical Ninja, Ninja Gaiden Shadow, Montezuma's Revenge, Great Greed, Face Ball 2000, Rolan's Curse, Final Fantasy Legend, Heiankyo Alien, Kirby's Dream Land, Survival Kids, Mole Mania, Castelian, Pokemon Blue, Monster Rancher Explorer, Metroid II, Spy vs Spy.

It's great. What a great system! I never knew. I thought it was like the Game Gear. I put all my carts in a Bentley's tea chest (wooden) that my sister gave me for Christmas. Had to take the tea packets out.

But now I'm running out of room.

Thanks. :)

As for my playing, I've only played a little bit of Drill Dozer on my Game Boy Advance SP since it was so cheap on Amazon that I nabbed one. I played through the first training stage. It's a shame that it did so poorly (and that many of the people who did play had lukewarm reactions) because, from what I tried, it seems like a great game. Nice gameplay, great sprite work, hilarious animations, it's very cool. Definitely had the odds against it, though, what with the really late release and the fact that it stars a cutesy, pink-haired girl.

I've been playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 at my friend's house. We all gather down there every week and switch off doing the 2 minute runs, trying to 100% the game with everyone. I finally got around to doing two things that were long overdue.

The first was that, after months of dealing with DealExtreme's horrible service and China's equally terrible postal system, I tried putting the second replacement bottom LCD screen in my DS Lite, half expecting it to be broken/defective like the first one. Much to my surprise and joy, it works. :D The screen isn't perfect; it's got any area with two small horizontal lines of pixels that are screwy, but it's good enough. It's so wonderful to have it playable again, and now I can finally play region-locked Japanese games without borrowing a DS. I gave the system a test by playing some Mawashite Koron, replaying a few courses and unlocking a couple new marbles. The game is actually the same as the US-released Labyrinth. I normally don't buy Japanese games unless there's no US version at the time, but that's the one time in which I didn't do adequate research and slipped up. No big loss, though, as I believe I paid under $10 shipped for it.

The other thing is that I pulled my Xbox 360 out of the closet and started Star Ocean: The Last Hope. I should have done this a long time ago, but, despite that I'm still thoroughly obsessed with tri-Ace's older games, my feelings on their modern output have changed a lot. Valkyrie Profile 2, Valkyrie Profile DS, and Infinite Undiscovery were all disappointing to me to varying degrees (VP2 being the lightest degree, as I still think it's an excellent game which I definitely can't say about the other two). I can only get burned so many times before I lose the desire to play subsequent games. Here's to hoping that SO4 will turn it around, but between what I've heard about the game and my own early impressions, I don't know if it's looking good. I've played about an hour and half so far, and I haven't accomplished squat besides going through the battle simulator and watching cutscenes. So far, it seems like it's got an even worse cast and plot than Star Ocean 3. I really hate how these stupid, immature kids are supposedly qualified as the "last hope" of the future of mankind. Gimme a break. As annoying as the characters were in SO3, at least they were presented as inexperienced and ill-prepared but grew to the challenge. But, still, I don't play any games, RPGs included, for the story, so if I can thoroughly enjoy SO3 despite the lame characters and story, I hope for the same with SO4.

Finally bought a PSP. Surprised at how light it is and how wide the screen is. It does need a resolution upgrade and the graphics look aging. Anyway, it came with Gran Turismo and Little Big Planet but I don't want either of those so will sell them off - they are still sealed. I'm still waiting for the 4 games I've ordered to arrive (OutRun 2006, Hatsune Miku: Project Diva, K-ON, Chili Con Carnage), so I tried out a lot of demos. LocoRoco was awkward to control and I got stuck and wasn't quite as joyous as the PS3 game. Ridge Racer 2 looked worse than the iPhone version and didn't have the immersive tilt steering so I think I'll pass. Wipeout Pulse didn't look shiny, appeared slow and I'd rather play the PS1 original. Patapon I didn't really get and they annoyed me.

So, I decided to buy a download release of a game where a disc is available, which is annoying and I'll have to pick up the disc now. But basically, I needed a full game to try my new system out. So I bought Gottlieb Pinball Classics which I thought would suit the vertical view very well. However, the view options are bad, and different for each table and the game not being sprite based really shows that the PSP needs a resolution upgrade. However, despite the immensely frustrating challenges and tasks I got really sucked in. Completed a few tasks and spent most time on the Victory table which I am getting really frustrated by. You have to hit all these checkpoints in order. I finally made all of them and then in desperation to hit the checkered flag tilted my way to doom. Haven't repeated it. Its been eating up a lot of time.

I've got the EU Labyrinth release. The last table is so hard. Can't get past it. Have you managed?

There are 6 courses with the last being the Ultimate course, right? And when you beat a course stars appear on it, correct? If I'm remembering everything correctly, then, yeah, I beat everything. I just tried playing a little of the Ultimate course, but I gave up on the second table because I couldn't remember how to power through grey blocks. I assume I have to power up the gyro, which I believe is based on timing, but I can't seem to get it past the electrical level. I remember doing it easily, so I don't know what my problem is now. Sure would be nice if anybody cared about the game enough to write an FAQ, especially considering I still have lots of ball designs to unlock and have no idea how. I don't remember the game being too difficult when I cleared it, but I grew up with On the Ball on Super Nintendo.

Anyway, as for my Star Ocean: The Last Hope playing on Xbox 360, I now have 6 hours on the clock and am pretty much ready to take off for the next planet, short of doing the Private Action before leaving and seeing if I can harvest some items to fulfill more of the shop orders. I'm enjoying myself a lot more now that I'm battling and exploring caves and forests, but it's still not the awe-inspiring experience that the previous Star Ocean games were for me. I don't know if that'll change given that my outlook on tri-Ace has changed since then. I can't look at their new games with rose-colored glasses anymore; now I'm cynical and suspicious, half-expecting to be disappointed. They're going to have to really wow me to eliminate those negative feelings, and I don't know if "Okay, let's do Star Ocean 3 again with shinier graphics" is going to cut it.

@Aussie2B: Yeah, I think I just had trouble on the final level of Ultimate. Seems like I needed to stock up on time on the previous levels to beat it...

As for today:

Since OutRun 2006 still hadn't arrived and my imports are stuck in customs, I once again played Gottlieb Pinball Classics on my new PSP. Still can't beat the Victory table. Isn't going to stop me from trying.

Also, I tried out Global Defence Force on the PS2. This is the 2nd in the EDF series, and I'd only played the Xbox 360 one before. This is basically like a sequel. Played 1 hour (love games which keep track of your time played...) and did the first 12 missions and already its got so much more variety than the Xbox 360 version. Its like a sequel (indeed, its set in 2018, cf EDF 2017 on the 360). I also loved the way it began in London, a city I grew up near to and still visit every couple of months. The only thing its missing is the cheesy voices. I loved the slowdown when it first appeared, but maybe a tad too much, not sure yet. Love the game.

Now that I've finished off Blood Omen 2, starting Soul Reaver 2. Such a weird order to play the series, but since I've already finished them doesn't hurt. Might just go with Defiance after this, then go back and play Blood Omen then Soul Reaver.

Except that Yakuza 4 has been released and is already on its way to my house, so might not even get to any of them. I need to just finish Hard and Extra Hard on Yakuza 3 and I'll pretty much have a platinum trophy. Again, usually don't go for trophies, but Yakuza is such a great series so I want to put in all the extra time to fully complete it.

I've been playing a ton of Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360, with over 17 hours on the clock now, ready to leave Lemuris. With this much time put into it now, I would say that it's a very good game, with no significant flaws, and I'm having lots of fun, but it also feels kind of derivative. Solid game, definitely, but nothing that new or special for the series. I recall talk of Star Ocean 3 being the last Star Ocean (and I've heard the same for this), but as long as it's tri-Ace's biggest series, I bet they'll keep cranking them out, whether they're all that inspired or not. With the previous games, each was fresh and valuable to the series: the first was brilliant but a little rough and unfinished, the second was an excellent evolution and expansion of the original's ideas, Blue Sphere was completely new and innovative, and Star Ocean 3 was a re-envisioning of the franchise for full 3D. Star Ocean 4 just feels... disposable.

That's not to say it doesn't have its improvements over Star Ocean 3, though. I really appreciate the better Item Creation system, not having to hug the walls of every room, the return of pickpocketing, etc. I also appreciate that they learned some lessons from Infinite Undiscovery (since this was built with the same engine), like the sprint ability.

Finally, the game I bought my PSP for arrived - OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast. Strangely, its also the game I first got a PS2 for, 5 years ago. It took a while to get a control layout a was happy with - settled on analogue nub for steering and the shoulder buttons for gears. After getting used to the low resolution graphics (once again) I was amazed at the scenery for the tracks I'm not so familiar with. This game is utterly amazing. I only stopped playing the PS2 version because my save file got corrupted. I started playing the Flagman challenges and unlocking songs. Then got annoyed because it said I could only unlock certain things on the PS2 version. Sigh. Well, at least now I can link the two up, although I lost all my progress the first time around. Shame I can't find a list of what items are exclusive to each version though. Anyway, according to the save, I played for 2 hours and beat Flagman 1 and 2. I love it. The only thing better would be if you didn't need to link to the PS2, and if it included OutRun 1. I'd love a portable version of it (the GBA version is so so easy) and I've never completed it. Also, whilst playing Flagman, I realised how terrible the courses are in reverse, they just don't flow. They are just designed so well to flow nicely in the original version. Which explain why SP basically took the same course designs and tweaked and added different backgrounds. This is one of my favourite games ever, and its good to be playing it again, and its even better to have the variety 2006 offers over the last version I played (Xbox 360 Online Arcade, actually, thats a lie, I've played both 2 and 2SP in the arcade since then, but that was over a year ago).

Several more hours of Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360. I just got Bacchus and finished the Cardianon stuff. Now I have some downtime to return to previous places and do some new quests and such, which is welcome because I'm a bit exhausted after what essentially amounted to one huge dungeon (even if, story-wise, I was visiting a few different areas). Plus I started to get sick of the generic high-tech sci-fi look. That was an issue I had with parts of SO3 as well. It's not that I think medieval-style fantasy can't be generic too, but I think Star Ocean works best when most of the game consists of characters from advanced worlds exploring undeveloped worlds. I think a lot of people associate Star Ocean with sci-fi themes, though, so tri-Ace pumped those up in the last two games. Maybe I just rather look at pretty forests, mountains, waterfalls, beaches, temples, etc. than sterile corridors.

And since my DS Lite is back in action, I finally sorted out my WiFi woes as well, thanks to assistance from my family for both. I'm extremely happy to say that I finally have all of the download quests for Solatorobo, and I've completed two of the twelve so far. It was a little weird playing for the first time since January I believe, but it quickly felt natural again.

So, on Friday I set up the PS2 to PSP USB linkup cable for OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast. It took a lot of struggling as the instructions weren't clear on which menus to click on both consoles. So I merged the files. Seems like it saves your progress, unlocks and miles but not your total time spend and your time trial records etc. Anyway, the point is, some of the things you can buy in the shops are exclusive to only one console, so I'm trying to get all the PS2/PSP exclusive stuff first before I just buy what I want. Played a lot on both consoles actually. Got my first OR tuned car - was way too fast, prefer the normal version!

Then yesterday I decided to download Riff: Everyday Shooter on the PSP. Decided not to go for the PS3 version because I haven't played a game on the PS3 in about a year and don't want to do all the updates, plus my PSP is new and shiny. As for the game, at first I was dissapointed, it looks very much in the style of Kenta Cho, and the maker even acknowledges it. It was nice to see the synaesthesia thing done with gentle guitar music instead of the usual techno/dance. After a while I kinda got into it, I see why people say its like an "album" of arena shooters. Each one is a bit homebrew and different graphical and gameplay style, but they all sorta fit together like an album of music.

Thanks. :) Yeah, it's a game worth savoring. I've heard of some people completing the full game in as little as 20 hours, but I actually spent 40 and I'll rack up a bit more with the side quests I'm sure. I'm going to pace myself in the completion of them (it helps that I'm already deep in another game), but it's also nice to know that even when I complete those and the second boss rush, I'll still have a little bit of extra stuff to do in replays, plus I think the difficulty is supposed to increase with each replay (not that it matters when you're getting stronger parts and balancing it out, though).

As for my playing, I'm got over 35 hours in Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360 now, and I'm about to challenge the Black Eagle in the Coliseum. It's so great to be on Roak now. I knew it was in the game, so I've been looking forward to it. So much great fan service for long-time Star Ocean fans. I'm especially thankful for the music because, ever since around Star Ocean 3 or so, Sakuraba's music has been getting more orchestral and atmospheric, and in my opinion, duller. The original music in this game hasn't stood out much, but the arrangements of old Star Ocean tunes are great. I just hope the balance in this portion of the game will get a little better as it's going to extremes. The trek from my ship to the first town was exhausting, with no save points in between, and by the time I finally reached the town, I had a headache from playing so long straight (over two hours). And then reaching the town, I've been stuck going back and forth between two large towns. I'm exhausted with just talking to NPCs, so I want to get on with some dungeons, or, at the very least, be able to leave town and take care of some quests and Item Creation.

Well, yesterday I spent far far too long on OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast on my new PSP. I'm up to Flagman 4, something I don't think I got as far on the PS2. And I finally bought the Testarossa and Superamerica, my two favourite cars from OutRun Online Arcade on the 260. The Superamerica is really fast. Really really fast. On manual I can almost beat my Outrun tuned default car. I'm only a few minles away from the Outrun tuned Superamerica, which is going to be a beast.

And tonight I played Global Defence Force on the PS2 again. Just did level 21 (I think) which was the first one with RED ants. Was so so hard. Took a lot of replays. Did it with a big ass shotgun and a machine gun. I'm up to 4 hours played now. And I think there are 71 missions. The Godzillla one was crazy, but this beach one with the red ants was seriously tough. The most scary moments I've faced in a videogame (at least since EDF2017)

Over 40 hours in Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360, having just visited Tropp for the first time. It was pretty stupid that the disc change is smack in the middle of the desert at random, but I'm much relieved to have learned that the only disc-swapping in this game is between disc 2 and disc 3. I'm sure that'll be annoying too, but it would've been unbelievably annoying to switch every time I'm traveling back and forth on Roak. Anyway, seems like I'm relatively on track time-wise in the game. I've heard other people (those who take the time to do quests and such) also taking about 40 hours on the first disc and that the later discs are much shorter. Usually I go through these games much slower than everybody else.

My next target is to complete Pokemon Red for the original Game Boy with all of the in-game Pokemon's final forms. It's kind of tedious so it might make me want to sneak in some progress on other game series or stand alone games, but really I should stay on task because I have Blue and Yellow versions to follow. I'm in Cerulean City now.

I'm choosing not to trade with myself until all games are done because I want each one to give a slightly different experience. I'm using Charmander in Red and will use Squirtle in Blue. Then Bulbasaur will usually be my choice in my loose extra copy of Blue as I go through it multiple times to trade special Pokemon over to the completed Red and Blue Versions.

Playing Pokemon HeartGold. Finished the fourth gym and caught a storyline pokemon in a lake. Played Sega Bass Fishing 2 for the first time in almost 10 years. After about 30 minutes I caught one fish, a 1.8 lb crappie.

Yes, a crappie fish.

Finally, the two Japanese imports (both Sega rhythm games!) I ordered when I bought my PSP got through customs! So I tried out the first one - Hatsune Miku - Project Diva. I know there is a sequel now but I thought I'd start with the first. Plus I got the limited edition with the Nendoroid Petit. And its such an awesome Nendoroid. Really love it. And love the whole packaging, the Nendoroids on the UMB, the way the inside of the UMB case has a nice picture and that the picture on the manual in the tray blends into it. As for the game itself, it seems there are loads and loads of songs, loving the styling (I can see why Miku has become such a phenomenon now - I want to buy some merch!) and the songs, but the game is BRUTAL. Seriously, the first song on medium mode is mental. Luckily the game gives you 6 songs unlocked from the start - and beating each unlocks different song paths. After a while I gave up medium and went down to easy and started to unlock songs. It was good fun and very satisfying after each level when Miku told me I'd completed it. But the patterns were nowhere near as good as the medium patterns. But, on medium, its not like its just that the patterns are hard - you need to score really really well to beat the level. In the end I picked one of my favourite songs (Secret Garden) and played it over. And over. And over. Again. Until I finally beat it! Accomplishment!

Sin & Punishment: Star Successor showed up in the mail today. Man, these levels are long! Every time I think I can relax a sec, its ANOTHER HUGE BOSS!!

Gran Turismo 2 - now that I have a PS2 that plays CD-ROM based games again, I'm gettin back into this old favorite. I'm one test away from my IB license. After all these years, all the GTs.. still: Viper + Laguna Seca = spin-out into the dirt.

I'm over 50 hours into Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360 now, about to clear the Purgatorium. I spent a good chunk of that time since my last post on quests, orders, and Item Creation, especially since I have Myuria now. Only one more character slot to fill.

Getting more games for my new PSP. Lumines turned up so I thought I'd give it a quick go - 35 minutes later and I couldn't wait for it to end. Its such a long game. Don't know how far I got compared to on the PS2 version but I'd rather play it for just 5 mins, not have to play constantly for this long. I've never thought it lives up to Mizuguchi's other work.

I've also been playing lots more Hatsune Miku - Project Diva. Getting the hang of normal mode now and completed quite a lot of songs on normal - some on the first attempt. Trying to go back and do all the songs I've done on easy on normal now. And also grinding to unlock some of the unlockables, which is a pain. I don't like Hard mode though because I'm really not used to the button labels on PlayStation systems. When its quickly switching between different buttons, when I see X, I end up hitting Square, as thats where X is on the Dreamcast/Xbox I'm more familiar with and then it screws up the whole pattern for me.

I'm nearing 60 hours now in Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360, and I'm on my way back to Aeos with new party member Sarah (god, what horrible voice acting). I've been spending my time doing all that Roak has to offer, and then I went back to Lemuris for the first time in what feels like forever and took care of some stuff there. I'm in the middle of the long stretch of Private Actions before Aeos, but once I land, I plan to head right back to Roak for some more quests that'll open up.

been blasting through Donkey Kong Country Returns. Sadly I have skipped collecting everything and even some of the "locked" levels. Not sure if I'll return to those before I move on to something else. But I just started level 8...the volcano area. Nearing the end...

Also just started playing Diablo II again. Got a Barbarian named Thundax up to level 23 and I'm at the end of Act IV

Boy, after playing Tales of Tempest, I can see why people are bashing this game. However, I got it for dirt cheap, so I'm not that disappointed. So far the only things that really bug me are:

1) The small amount of towns and dungeons in the game world. Also, the towns/dungeons seem really small in scale too. Even the so-called "capital city" of the game world isn't all that impressive looking.

2) The game's length. I'm only seven hours in, and I've already cleared two-thirds of the story. "Tales of Ten Hours" indeed!

Playing Tempest, reminded me that I haven't played Tales of Destiny in while. So I last night I booted it up, and finally managed to clear a very time consuming portion of the game.

It's the part where Stahn and his group have been asked to defeat some pirates that have been attacking that local merchant ships. What makes it so time consuming, is that you must defeat 3-4 pirate ships in a row without being able to save. (Well, not until you get the final pirate boss.) Not to mention that it's hard to avoid battles because the the on-screen enemies move so erratically.

So I downloaded two shoot-em-ups on Xbox Live this evening. One an Arcade game for 800 points and one an Indie game for 80 points. Which one do I much prefer and have spent far longer playing? That's right - the indie game which cost me 10 times less.

Anyway, I'll start with Strania, its by G.Rev so I was looking forward to it. However, it has an annoying weapon switching system. Nice Naomi/Dreamcast esque styling ands throwbacks to Ikaruga and Under Defeat, which are the only other G.Rev games I've played (oh, apart from Senko no Ronde/Wartech).

However, Infinity Danger on XBLIG is highly recommended. It again looks like a Naomi/Dreamcast game and has great Ikaruga-esque music. However, its a twin stick shooter that essentially is a boss rush time attack score attack game. The bosses have destructable elements and you gain time from destroying a part. Upon defeating a boss the next boss is created building upon the previous bosses weaknesses. Soon the bosses fill the screen and its real bullet hell. There's some strategy over what parts you destroy and its really really enjoyable. Much more worth it than that other game which cost 10 times as much.

Just achieved what could be one of my greatest ever gaming achievements! I'm so excited. Just beat The Dissapearance of Hatsune Miku on HARD on the PSP game Hatsune Miku: Project Diva. I didn't think I could move my thumb that fast. It was amazing. For an idea of how hard this is, search for it on youtube, but the game itself tells you, it ranks all songs on a 5 star difficulty system, there are only a few 5 star songs. But this song it ranks as 7 stars! It is mental. Bring on the sequel - I hear there is an extreme difficulty :)

Last time I played Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360, I had just cleared the Astral Caves, so I'm about ready to get back to progressing the story.

However, I unfortunately got sick again, so it was back to spending a lot of time laying around, which in turn means handheld gaming. Since I had the quests downloaded in Solatorobo, I figured it was as good a time as any to pull out the DS and work on clearing those. Several fun quests later, I now have completed 11 of the 12, and I'm basically in the same position as I was prior to downloading. The last download quest requires every other quest to be cleared, which includes the boss rush ones, so I still need to beat the Part 2 boss rush. Granted, I'm a little better off than before since I gained a level by doing all those quests and also collected enough cash to buy some better equipment. It's still tricky, though, and will take some practice. I've gotten good enough to get the last boss down to around 1/3 of his life, so I need to just perfect my patterns a slight bit more.

Yes, I finally beat Part 2 of the boss rush in Solatorobo on DS. :) Considering the boss rush quests were the only parts in the game to offer a legitimate challenge, it's satisfying to finally have them licked. Now the final quest has opened up, but since I'm mostly over my cold now, I'll save that lengthy quest for another rainy day.

Now I'm feeling well enough to get back into Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360, so I'm starting to explore the new southern area opened up on Aeos. So far I've only played enough to reach the first save point in that area.

Pokemon Heartgold

Obtained 8th badge, only to get my 6 pokemon handed to me in a blood-soaked bag by some kimono girls with Eevee evolutions. That will teach me to over-rely on my starter for everything (hey, it worked in Pearl! I almost singlehandedly went through the entire game on Turtwig alone! LOL). Looks like I've got some power leveling in my future. I think this was the first time I've ever gotten completely wiped out during the main storyline of a Pokemon game.

I have over 70 hours in Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360 now, and I'm on my way to En II (for real this time). I'm in the middle of all the Private Actions, but I've held off from playing because I had something weird happen. Most of the time, doing a PA advances the trip to the next leg, but I just did all that a leg had to offer and it didn't advance, even though an FAQ says it should and the BradyGames guide seems to imply as much too. I don't really want to continue on until I'm confident that there isn't something secret I could be doing. I guess I'm a little suspicious ever since I discovered a PA that neither found at all.

I solved my Private Action mystery in Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360, so now I'm on En II and the third and final disc. I guess I'm probably getting pretty close to beating the game, especially since I know each disc is progressively shorter (not counting all the post-game stuff). Granted, I know I'm really taking my time with this. I've read of some people that rushed through the game so fast that they beat the whole game in less time than I spent on just disc 1, but what a waste I say. Anyway, I spent a good chunk of time exploring Centropolis and the surrounding areas, completing quests and some orders. Now that I've got the Wind Ring, though, I'm all set to start fighting some baddies again.

Finally started Castlevania Lords of Shadow. Up to chapter 2 and while I find the game more enjoyable than a God of War title, the gameplay itself has a lot to be desired. The game design with it being called Castlevania but is has much more of a resemblance to Lord of the Rings, etc, is stupid, but I don't take much notice to it anymore as I just don't look at it as a Castlevania game. There's a storyline, but it kind of sucks so far.
