Gave SMB another go via Virtual Console. I have yet to beat it :(
Borrowing CV: Portrait of Ruin from a friend. While the music and art style have taken a hit IMHO, the tag team gameplay is really growing on me. Another plus is the bosses require some real thought to beat...

Practically right after that last post I made, I beat 7C in Bikers on my Game Boy Advance SP via the Konami GB Collection Vol. 3. Then today at school I beat 8C (just minutes before heading to calculus :P ), which is the final course and difficulty level of the game, but I didn't get an ending or even a "congraturation". It just gave me a stinkin' "Game Over", like it does when I lose, and thus took the game back to the title screen (with no changes obviously). Oh well, I shouldn't expect much from what is essentially a sports game. Now that I've destroyed this collection and packed it around for months, I think it's time I finally give it the boot and find a new Game Boy game for school. :P

I decided that the next game I'll play through on my Game Boy Advance SP will be Wario Land II, and even though I should probably save it for time I need to kill at school, I've already reached Chapter 3. So far I'm really having a lot of fun with it. It's been too long since I've played through a classic Nintendo-developed game. The whole puzzle nature of it is interesting too, what with being immortal and all. I think I prefer the straight action of the original Wario Land (and Virtual Boy Wario Land which is even better), but this is an enjoyable change of pace.

Yesterday:
I went to Keansburg Amusement Park(forgot to take my camera)
Played:
STACKER..Well My wife did...Reminds me of Tetris.
They had several of the Large STACKER Machines right out in front of the Arcades, and 1 smaller version.
Most had either PS3s,Wii's,DS light and TVs in them as Prizes..
My wife mainly played(with an audience)the one which had actual pictures of winners, one kid who won a Wii,No ps3 in this one though..My wife wanted to win me a Wii...My wife would get all the way to the top then miss the last stack..(it's very addictive)
I don't know what the trick is,but that particular machine the arcade owner would come out to watch,if you won you'd get your picture taken..Prize given right there,it falls out if you win..
As in this link..We played these big Stacker Machines.

That machine was great,A lot of gameplay to it.. My favorite South Park Machine right next to it was too loud and being played by a couple who shook it so bad it shook the family guy machine(killing the game for me)..I had to walk away and come back later to play Family Guy in enjoyment.

I finally got back into Lufia & the Fortress of Doom on my SNES, and I got the bridge to Arus repaired. I haven't crossed it just yet, though, since I had two more levels of the Old Cave to complete. The 7th level really handed my ass to me at first, but after I loaded up on 99 Smoke Balls, I skipped the tougher battles until I was ready for them. Judging by the new NPC dialogue, it seems like that was the last floor, but I'll check back later anyway.
In Wario Land II on my Game Boy Advance SP, I'm up to the "Final" Chapter, but I think it's just a trick since it seems like this is only half way through the game judging by the treasure collection screen and the map that pieces together.

I'm way into a Japanese PS RPG called Dragon Knights Glorious. It's a really long game -- there are 25 possible endings, and I've been playing for about 15 hours and I've gotten 2. The battles are nice with animated enemy sprites and an attack system that lets you chain techniques between turns.

Well, I was kinda right and kinda wrong about Wario Land II. I played a bit on my Game Boy Advance SP at school yesterday, and once I got home I did end up beating the game. It was the final chapter and end of the story, but it's not an end to the gameplay. I had heard that the game had different endings, but I assumed it was like the first Wario Land where the amount of money and treasures determine the ending (which basically was just a different home for Wario, ranging from a birdhouse to the whole moon). However, here there are actual different stories to go through by taking a different branch from certain stages. Right now I'm working on the one where the bad guys throw Wario out of his castle, and he has to invade it to get it back.

The Final Mission I tried to take my time with, going around the outskirts-fooling around.. but once you cross the line that kicks in the Bosses it's hard to get away from them..They kept destroying my Hound over and over..Everything I tried would not work,I was way overmatched using the given Hound.
So I created a few Hounds(still trying to understand how to) that worked a bit but not enough to get the job done..
The Last Hound I made after two tries I finally was able to beat the Boss Hounds, not with ease but with more of a fair fight.
Games Finished but Free Play is now Open..
I just got Over G Fighters so I'm going to try that out tonight.

I beat the story path in Wario Land II on my Game Boy Advance SP that I was working on yesterday, and now I'm working on the second alternate path. This one doesn't lead to another ending, though; it just wraps around. I got a couple treasures that I missed when playing through the initial story, but there are still a couple more that I haven't bothered with. I did have to cheat a little on one treasure where I had to get an eel to grab me and pull me down to a different section underwater. I never gave that a try myself since all signs pointed to the eels being bad guys just there to screw the player up. I also kinda cheated on how to take the path I beat yesterday since I had read to just leave Wario sleeping and it'll start, but I came across that information more on accident than anything else. I'll try to figure out everything else on my own as much as I can.

I played a little more of Lufia & the Fortress of Doom on SNES, and I finally finished up the cave with the bridge after exploring everything that comes after crossing it. I made it to Arus where Professor Raile was supposed to be, but of course he left to go to some tower, so now I have to go through yet another cave and climb yet another tower. :P
In Wario Land II on my Game Boy Advance SP, I finished the second alternate path, and now I've begun the third, which does lead to a different ending. In this one, I had to sink the SS Teacup rather than drop anchor, so now I'm exploring some Atlantis-like ruins at the bottom of the sea. And, boy, did it take me forever to find that alternate exit on the SS Teacup. I explored every little inch several times over, and I was oh-so-close to checking an FAQ, but I really wanted to figure it out myself and and eventually I tried chucking enemies around and discovered two spots where I could break the wall with an enemy even though they weren't marked with the typical icon that indicates such.

I got up to Linze in Lufia & the Fortress of Doom on SNES and started searching the cave for Alumina to turn my ship into a submarine, but I got the lamest Game Over ever. None of the enemies in the cave are all that difficult for my party, but I was battling the damn ever-full menu. I figure I'd use up some attack items in battle since I needed to clear up a spot and I was unaware how strong the items were (so I didn't want to just throw them away). I got in a battle with two Were-frogs, set everybody to use the item (I had four), saw that the item was actually really weak, and then lost as the frogs cast Flood four times. :/ If I had attacked normally, the battle would be a piece of cake. So freakin' frustrating that I lost all my work because of the damn limited menu. >_< I HATE RPGs that have really limited menus. If you want to limit things, lower the total number of each item you can have, like in Star Ocean you can only have 20 of each item. That way you can't load up on 99 of every healing and revival item and make the game too easy, but at the same time, you can still hold one of every item in the game. I'm not even hoarding stuff in Lufia; I've been selling all of my old equipment. I've only been holding onto rings and various usable items.
Anyway, I played some more Wario Land II on my Game Boy Advance SP as well, and I never was able to find the alternate exit in the factory. All I was left with was one little area that I couldn't seem to reach. I did find the alternate exit in the next stage, though (by again throwing an enemy at a wall not marked in the usual way; I would try that in the factory but there are pretty much no normal enemies present). Now I'm taking the path through the "Uncanny Mansion" stages, and I've completed a couple of them so far.

I beat the Uncanny Mansion path in Wario Land II on my Game Boy Advance SP, and all I had left was the path branching out from the factory. I ultimately decided to cheat and look up the alternate exit, but I don't feel too bad about it because I had missed this one random block I had to butt stomp. It doesn't stand out in any way, so if I found it on my own, I'd probably have to butt stomp every square inch of the stage to stumble across it. After I got through that, I completed the first couple stages of the Mysterious Factory path.

My boyfriend has been working on an arrangement of one of the tunes in Dragon Spirit, so I popped it in my NES to inspire him a little. :) I was tired and being careless, though, so I died in stage 3. For some reason I just couldn't recover after that, so I very shamefully lost on that stage. :( I had to redeem myself after that, so the next day I played through the whole game without even using a continue. This is still my absolute favorite shooter, even if it doesn't seem to get any attention from hardcore shmup fans or anybody else.
I got back into Lufia & the Fortress of Doom on SNES after that shameful Game Over too. I've collected 6 pieces of Alumina, so now I just need one more.
