Test Drive: Eve Of Destruction
From the moment I popped this game in and started playing tonight I had a smile on my face..
It's just so much fun..You could slap that smile off my face and I was smiling all night playing this game
I played the PS2 Demo over and over..and over..I was left wanting more...The demo I'd say was pretty much plain compared to the game
This game packs so much in it... I just can't spoil it...It's just so much fun to play and theirs so much to do.
I would of played this all night if I didn't have to get up in the morning.
The races ETC in this game are just straight up fun and well created.....

Though I never watch Replays they are really cool to watch in this game and you can manipulate a lot of things with that.

I'm so GLAD I didn't settle for the PS2 version this morning.
The Xbox version lets you play your own music for the background music..(sweet!!)
You choose and check off a whole list of whatever music you have put on the Hardrive.
You can choose to play everything/all the music you have on the Hardrive.

I'm dying to see what the multiplayer plays like..(need players)
If this game was linkable..It would of been Amazing..

I don't know why I love to SMASH cars etc so damn much...It's just so much fun in this game..

I chose this over Burnout 3 this week..Everybody and their brother is buying Burnout 3..
I'll get one used or cheaper in a week or two..
I almost bought it too and I had the plan to..
But,I decided to buy Test Drive EOD first, play through it since I burn through games like water then buy and play Burnout 3 ..
These 2 games are totally different and I didn't want to get intertwined playing them

I overheard an employee conversation at EB in Willowbrook..N.J.
They already have over 5000 pre-orders for Halo 2...(they have to bring them in on a skid.

I also was sick when a Customer came in with his wife and Bought a new XBox Sports title and traded in last years copy for a Whopping 50 cent.
The employees clearly told him they only give him 50 cent to $1.00 for it and he took it..
When the couple looked down/away the two employees looked and each other and smile/laughed.

Test Drive: Eve of Destruction ......

Destruction-derby games usually spell sheer metal-shredding carnage, and Test Drive: Eve of Destruction delivers more fender annihilation than you can imagine. But it’s also an innovative, deep, and spellbinding racing game.
A Wise Man Once Said…

Monster Games and Ratbag Games are two of the most underrated developers of racing games out there, and Monster’s raw talent comes pouring out through the seams of Test Drive: Eve of Destruction. Instead of just slapping together a string of mayhem-filled events, Monster created an absorbing and surprisingly unique Career mode that makes the game worth playing for a good while. If your attention span doesn’t linger that long in one place, Test Drive also does the string-of-mayhem thing quite well by letting you crumple metal in single- or multiplayer events, along with a less-structured array of challenges that are fun to master. No online action, though.

The long list of events delivers some impressive variety, and shockingly, they’re based on events that real-life insane people actually drive in—you can unlock the video footage to prove it. In Gauntlet, you drive one way around the track, while a pack of other cars goes the other way and basically tries to kill you. Or there’s the awesome trailer race, where you pull a camper or boat trailer, and you’re out if someone knocks your trailer off. Other derby standards like suicide races, figure-8 jump races, whip-around races, and much more pack the roster. You can unlock a slew of cars and fun special vehicles like the all-powerful school bus or the flimsy postal wagon.

Back to that Career mode—it’s really the heart of the game. You start in a hub-like town, where you can take your cars out for a practice spin. You can also shop for new cars or put your money on the line by racing other locals or betting you can set a record time in addictive Stuntman-like time trials. For the real action, you head out of town to enter events, but even that’s not just a loading screen—along the way, you race an opponent to the track. You can spend your winnings on a variety of cars—speed demons, derby crushers, and more—and you’ll need to because cars wear out over time. As your reputation grows, you unlock secret racing series and other cool challenges. It’s great stuff.

…Dirt Is for Racing…

The cars handle like a breeze—extreme racing prowess is not required, and hardcore racing gamers will find the going a bit easy until the latter half of the Career mode. But the cars have a great dirt-track feel that makes setting up slides and spins simply a blast, and the game is tuned to reward you for playing like a battering ram or a racing technician—your call.

The audio, however, clocks in as just average. The track announcer is gratingly lame, and the game offers a pretty standard array of hard-rock tunes. The sound effects do their job just fine, but there’s nothing exciting about them. Visually, though, the game fares much better. You can knock the crap out of your slickly rendered car in an impressive variety of ways, and the tracks and landscapes looks sharp in that lovingly tongue-in-cheek redneck kinda way. The Xbox version, which wasn’t ready for review at press time, sparkles with slightly better, crisper graphics, but it’s otherwise identical to the PS2 one.

…Asphalt Is for Getting There

Test Drive games are usually street-racing affairs, but this left turn into destruction derbies really pays off with a rich experience. If you’re even slightly interested after reading this, go pick up a copy—you won’t be able to put the controller down.

Test Drive: Eve of Destruction ......

I've been playing everything in this game outside of starting a Career...(Milking it)
Opening up Tracks,Cars etc..
The game difficultly set on level 3 veteran is a breeze and a lot of fun...and that's how I've been playing it...

But,..I decided to turn up the difficultly to level 4 champ...
Whoa...This game got much harder..I can't beat races I was winning easily on level 3 for nothing..
The AI has improved drastically, faster more aggressive ..On level 4 the game has become technical..
The car I choose matters a lot now and concentration is now key..

Something's are beatable on any level though..

Switching one level in difficultly felt so jumpy IMO..

..(Level 5 Legend is the highest)

I just finished Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the GCN. No, I never played it on the N64 - this is my first time. I thought it was going to be a lame ending when she sent him back, but no, it wasn't. That last shot that they take that they turn into shades of brown clinched it.

Also been playing Fire Red. I'm on the S.S. Anne - looking forward to the TRU event on the 25th. Hopefully there will be Mystery Gift actions going on there resulting in either a Mystery Ticket, an Aurora Ticket, or a Mew / Celebi.

Neo Geo MVS..

I got OWNED by my 3 yr old son in Rage Of The Dragons tonight..(that is Sad.)

He was playing Shock Troopers 1 & 2..and ROTD.

While he was playing ROTD..
I walk over to the Candy cab press player 2 and he goes into this fast button pressing mode and Whoops my ass..

I learned something tonight from him..
I never knew that when you press the player 1 or 2 buttons while in play it's a taunt for Neo Geo fighting games..

He kept taunting me and I could figure how the heck he was doing that..
(His character keep saying "What are you waiting for"

I was going to hit the Arcades in Keansburg N.J. today though the weather looked gloomy..I left here..ran into massive traffic on the parkway, hit a U turn then went to the Willowbrook mall..

My wife is looking to beat my but in Outrun 2.

I really wanted to go today and I had a few friends who were supposed to pop down there later tonight ..they all flaked out..
So I went to Fun & Games but I didn't play anything...Just passed through.
They looked like there was some sore of Coplay-Gothic thing going on outside the Arcade

I hit all the game stores in the mall..Mainly EB..

I wanted to buy ShellShock: Nam '67,I've been waiting for this game to come out..I'm a War Game War History Nut..
Most of the reviews I read about the game are bad..So I started talking to an EB employee I know there..He doesn't like the game, though that won't stop me from buying it.
I was looking to pay $39.99 (Xbox) but it's $49.99....EB has a $10.00 Mail in Gift Voucher, but that takes to damn long.
I was ready to buy Shellshock then I saw VIETCONG Purple Haze behind the glass ..
It just came in..So I bought that and Terminator 3 Redemption..($36.00)Since this ShellShock: Nam '67, seemed to sell well though..I'll find one used cheaper in a week I bet..

I say I talked to my friend there for 15 minutes about this Terminator 3..Now this game he likes..

I'm not playing these yet..
I'm still having to much fun with Test Drive: Eve Of Destruction....Played that for a few hours tonight.
