I just bought an NES SP yesterday, along with The Legend of Zelda re-release. So I've been playing that, and this time, maybe I'll actually finally beat it.Does the Zelda port have any quirks? Also, you got a camera? Can you take some pictures of it all?

A lot of Tetris and Tetris Attack on the GBA SP and Tempest 3X on the PSX.
Wish there were GBA versions of all three of those. (The original Tetris, not Tetris Worlds.)

I'm pretty deep into Full Spectrum Warrior the game still makes me say HOLY..........!!
But,I think I may be and the end..and I will be disappointed due it being extremely short..
I can say I have ran into a few glitches in the game that have caused me to Redeploy for the Mission..and having to do that really sucks..

Whoo! Just beat the first half of Mario vs. Donkey Kong. Now starting the PLUS levels. But I need more lives first, DK really knocked me out a few times in that (Overly easy compared to the original 1994 Donkey Kong. Damn, he was hard in that. And actually big.) battle.
I find it rather amusing.. "Donkey Kong.. you okay? Wait a minute. Not again! Here we go again!"

Hey Ed - do you have high-speed internet access? I've done SS2 multiplayer once, but wanted to do so again. If we could get 3 people then it would really rock the casbah.
I've been playing Pokemon Silver non-stop for about a month now. It's really just about the only game I've been playing. I don't know what it is about these games that has such a long-lasting appeal for me...there's just always something to do, and you can play for like 10 minutes and still get somewhere, usually, and then save and put it down. And Mystery Gifts, and breeding, and running around collecting berries, and...
My Pokedex is 125 and climbing. I'm glad I spent so much time developing my guys when I was going through Red - it's the only way to get some of them, and it gives me great breeding fodder. It's just delicious to take my Raichu from Red, breed him with a Ditto, and then get a Pichu with THUNDER. Or, my Alakazam from Red with Ditto, and get an Abra with Psychic. I lay waste to my opponents.
Of course, there are also the times when my Dragonite came over and was a female...so no Hyper Beam Dratini :( That would've been sweet.

I've been on a StarTropics kick lately (as you can tell by my avatar). For some reason, it just seemed perfect to play through the two games on my relaxing, sunny summer vacation. :)
I've already played through and beaten StarTropics. It was the first time I ever beat the game. The furthest I had ever previously played was Chapter 3. Yeah, the controls are a real pain, but I got used to them rather quickly. The game sure was difficult and frustating at times, but I took it slow. In the end, I found it to be an extremely fun and satisfying game, and the ending was AWESOME. I'm amazed that the NES can handle such detailed, beautiful pictures.
Now I'm playing StarTropics 2, and I'm already up to Chapter 8 (the furthest I had previously gotten was Chapter 4, I think). This one is definitely significantly easier, but it's still a challenge compared to modern adventure games. After getting so used to the limitations of StarTropics' controls, I have actually had a somewhat difficult time getting used to the better controls of StarTropics 2. I miss the game controlling everything for me when I jump from platform to platform. :P
I used to think that StarTropics 2 was better than the original (mostly due to the controls), but I'm starting to rethink it. The time-traveling in StarTropics 2, while cool, is rather gimmicky. I liked StarTropics' consistent tropical world (granted, the alien stuff in StarTropics was a gimmick too). I liked the original game's music better, but the second game's music is really starting to grow on me too. I guess I'll just have to keep playing and decide which is better once I have both finished. :)

StarTropics.. along with Earthbound one of those really great games I want ported to the GBA! StarTropics and StarTropics 2 would be a great combo cart for the GBA if they spruced up the graphics and such. I still can't believe the bastards haven't brought over the GBA Earthbound collection. If it weren't in Japanese, I'd import it this second!
I've never beaten StarTropics without a Genie sadly. I just found it so hard. And the Genie just made it actually beatable. Chapter 3 was such a big place. Multiple parts and caves, a Shamen that turns you into a girl so you can infiltrate the Female-Only castle. (I used to try and escape the castle so I could continue playing as a girl just to see if it was possible.)
But even as a little kid, I always had to wonder why the hell the Sub-C couldn't go through the "White" colored water. I mean, it's in the Tropics, I HIGHLY DOUBT it's Ice! Plot device, Jasoco.. Plot device. (Like in the part where you had to go between the two islands but a ship is blocking the passageway so you have to sink it. Obviously, we can't go around the islands, that would be too easy.)
Without a Genie, I can only get to the Ghost caves.
Man, I wish they would port it. Both of them. I never got to play Zoda except on an emulator.

I was going to start Chronicles of Riddick but I haven't had enough of Full Spectrum Warrior..
So,I started the game over on hard..saving at the first save then stopping..
I want to see just what else they will throw at me now that I know what I'm doing..
During the last mission of the game I threw a Grenade at an Enemy and I'll remember what happened for a long time...(They turn it up towards the end)
The Enemy was fairly close and I had to throw it quick or get killed ..The Grenade exploded blowing things all around and a large piece of wood came right towards the screen like 3D,filling the right part of the TV screen flight right fast the Soldiers head who I was ..(Real Fast)...Whoa I said..
No lie it was so realistic "MY" head bobbed to the left and my heart was beating fast....Man that was so awesome..

Taking up a majority of my time this week has been Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which I last played through almost a year ago (guess I'll try to be a good Jedi this time...). I've also dusted off (quite literally) my Turbografx 16 recently, so I've been playing quite a bit of Dungeon Explorer and Bonk's Revenge. Perhaps once I can scrunge up some change (or stop at the bank, whichever comes first) I'll scour the local garage sales and swap meets and try to find some more TG16 games...any TG16 games. The last thing I picked up was the complete PS2 titles for $4.00 a piece..

Local EB games was having a sale, so based on someones (daryll?) comments in this thread i picked up Warhammer 40k: Fire Warrior for $25 AU, as well as Time Crisis: Project Titan for $15 AU.
Fire warrior is good, but i think ive almost finished it and I doubt ill have the patience to play it through again for the "extras". Its good, but like the majority of single player FPS games it starts off well enough, but eventually turns into doom style "get the colored keys". I might have to pickup a network adaptor to try it online :-P
Project titan is ok, but oh so ugly. 3 years and they could only barely improve on the originals graphics
All up though, money well spent.

Well..since I like Full Spectrum Warrior so much I've been playing the game a lot..(offline)
I'm playing the game on Hard..this requires no mistakes..
Since I have the controls down packed so well..I basically can clear out enemies fast or by actually fooling the game since the game sort of wants or hints to do things I certain way..
I don't do it the way that is hinted..I do it in a more aggressive way and I keep causing the game to glitch whereas an announced SIT-REP/Save will "not" be visible but said to be there..then another will appear.
Then the SIT-REP/Saves I do use won't work if I have to re-deploy the mission.
I'm causing them to come in quick conjunction to another one..
Both will allow me to save but only one will actually work if I die and have to re-deploy.
I'm glitching this game so bad that enemies are disappearing from where they should be..this happens if I have the second team way up further into where I'm going next...Providing I can get past the blocked parts.
Then when my say Bravo team is at the spot where this enemy should be and I bring the Alpha/second team into view the disappearing enemy will all the sudden reappear and basically shoot at the second team coming into view completely missing the Bravo team that is right next to them.
A lot of this happens when I bring a team up near/to an objective and the game takes over..with the other team being further or to far ahead.
Another thing I do is I use "one" team to do most of the work and I think that may be confusing the game.
When I have to clear out a tank I throw smoke at it then run up to it.
Being next to it,it can't hit me ..(I'm tricking the game)..If when the tank gets blown up by the game taking over and I'm standing right next to it that team won't die like it really should.
The tank will be totally obliterated but my guys standing right at that tank won't have a scratch on them..
