Speaking of NES repairs, getting back to your PM from earlier this week, that other NES arrived finally, I worked it out, and It's now running smoothly (tested it exactly 8 times to make sure fire that it is ready to be sold again lol)

While the one you and I were discussing last week, it's mysterious grey solid screen remains...I tried every single theory, test, and cleaning process..and it is not going anywhere lol

Altered Beast on the Sega Genesis. This year marks the begining of my ownership of the Genesis. I've had friends that have owned them throughout the years, but now that I have steady income I decided it was time I started buying the stuff I always wished I had as a kid.

Strange game to say the least. What was Sega smoking when they made this a pack in?

Well,..It's nothing to write home about.
The tutorial is funny whereas Gunnery Sgt Hartman constantly curses at you..

The cut-scenes and music do give the feel of Vietnam..

The game feels to easy and simple on normal.. I put it on the hardest level and got killed quick before I turned it off.
I'll restart the game over on hard now.
Though I only played two missions,from what I see from watching the game play through it's intro etc.
It looks like it's going to get hard...and lots to do..
The firefights on normal difficulty are pretty good..

Vietcong: Purple Haze/Xbox

The game is much better played on the hardest level(VIETNAM)..I would not consider playing it on normal now.

You have basically have no HUD on hard...You have to rely on your comrades to heal and bring you ammo.
Sneaking around is more important now..IMO..it gives the game a better feel to realism

If your not careful you'll get your ass SHOT OFF quick on this difficulty level..

The 150cc mode in Mario Kart DD is a PAIN IN THE ASS. The game won't give you much help if you're struggling, which is fair. But the AI can be cheap sometimes.

Here's something that really pissed me off:

I'm near the end of the final lap of Waluigi Stadium with Donkey Kong and Diddy, 2'nd place. I have to pass Bowser and Bowser Jr. to win the cup. We're both tied at 26 points. I get a red shell and I'm about to chuck it at the duo and pass them by. All of a sudden, a lightning bolt strikes and I lose my shell. Then a red shell is chucked at me. After that, a green shell hits me, and I'm knocked to 5'th place.

I don't remember the last time a game has pissed me off that much. :angry:

I almost picked up Donkey Konga tonight,Cosco has it for $42.99..But the boxes have a horrible wide Cosco sticker going around the whole box.
It's to prevent people from opening the box but it totally ruins it...

I played one mission of ..

Vietcong: Purple Haze

I usually only play one mission..
The reason is because I have the game set on hard (Vietnam)..No health gauge/no ammo gauge nothing..bare bones.
There is no Crosshair,you have to aim at the enemy/no pansy ass auto aim..
Best bet is to get down on one knee...lie down or get behind something and use the sight on the rifle to aim..picking them off and they don't go down easy..
This is no run & gun game..(in this difficulty)..Lots of cursing in this game..

The mission I just went through I had to take out several VC mortar positions..I kept messing up and you die a lot in this game.(if you don't think things out..or get hit by an enemy grenade.
In this Mortar-take the compound mission everytime they called me on the radio they said I was too late Mission Failed/game over.
So I decided not to answer it until I took over the heavy VC occupied compound.
For some reason I got past that Failure/answered the next call and had to hold the compound while the VC tried to take it back..(Hamburger Hill)

Some missions you can get resulted with ammo from another soldier but sometimes they are with you at a star of a mission..
Soldiers get killed in the cutscenes..it seems you have a constant change of certain soldiers who go into action with you.
From 3-to 5 at a time.
Without a soldier to resupply you..You have to rely on accuracy and taking the weapons from fallen VC.
I went into this Mortar-take the compound mission with a M60../New weapons are opened as you progress.I had just got the M-16 but chose the M60 for this mission.
I ran out of ammo after shooting a few of the VC advancing up the hill to try and take the compound..
All I have is 3 grenades and a Colt M1911 handgun..I'm getting pounded hiding inside the top of a small guard tower...It's hair raising,,
Bullets hitting real close/grenade explosions...they want my ass.
I pick off one of the advancing VC jumped down and crawled to get his weapon...(the first time I tried this I killed by a grenade.
The second time I jumped down and crawled to get his weapon I ran into the compound passages and took out VC trying to enter from the sides..
They were coming from all over..it was intense...

The save at anytime is a great feature on this difficulty..but the loading times suck...

I can't say this game is Award winning...it has it's faults...but I'm having a great time with it..

What I want is the music from this game by itself....The music brings back so many memories from great war movies.
