Ugh, Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360 is starting to drive me bonkers with this Trial of Love quest to get a Synard Egg. It's a rare random item drop, and while some people have good luck and get one within 10 or 20 Synard fights, I'm having terrible luck and am up to around 80 fights under my belt without a single stinkin' egg. I've probably added 2 or 3 hours to the clock already just trying to farm for this, along with harvesting for Blue Roses and filling some shop orders. I just want to clear this Trial of Love quest before I trigger the next story scene and progress to the final area of the game, at which point I know I gain the ability to warp to all the towns and can work on all the pre-final boss optional stuff in earnest.
I'm doing horrible with games this year, it's only 3 months in and I already have about 10 games added to the backburner.
Right now I'm trying to focus on The Saboteur (PS3). Although I've read it's unfinished and EA forced it out the door, it seems pretty polished to me. The game basic mechanics (driving, shooting, climbing) are pretty solid and I haven't experience any horrible bugs yet besides the game freezing once, also the way they played with the colors going from B&W to full color is pretty damn creative.

I finally got the Synard Egg in Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360, and since then I got to the final planet (watching a massive cutscene in the process). From there I teleported back to all the old areas to complete a whole bunch of quests, orders, and Private Actions. While I still have quite a few orders left to go, I'm ready to move forward in the final place now. I'm not going to go really out of my way for the remaining orders when I can just as well do them post-game after I've had the chance to naturally acquire some stuff without having to specifically farm. As it is the Synard grinding probably made me a bit overleveled, so I should avoid picking up more short of fighting the new baddies.

I'm right at the gates of the final dungeon in Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360 now, and I got a whopping 100 hours on the clock. It's funny, I got a similar time in Infinite Undiscovery, but while that felt like an eternity of tedium, these hours in SO4 have felt like nothing and I'm perfectly prepared to dump a few dozen more into the post-game content. I've gotten in the habit lately of putting off tri-Ace's bonus dungeons, but I think I'll get to these ones right away. So far Blue Sphere is the only Star Ocean in which I haven't done the bonus dungeon, and that was only because I built my characters so poorly that they can't get strong enough to tackle it without replaying the game. It's just a shame that I've yet to do the bonus dungeons in any of the Valkyrie Profile games.

I haven't advanced much in Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360. I didn't play at all yesterday, and today I only went into the final dungeon and cleared the first (of nine, I believe) floors. Looking at the guide, it appears that there isn't a save point until I reach the very top, so that'll probably be annoying. Not because I think it'll be terribly hard but because it's so time-consuming. By the time I hit a couple hours of playing, I want to just turn it off and take a break.
I did, however, play around three hours of 4-player Mario Kart 64 on Nintendo 64, and it was great. :) Just like the good ol' days in '02/'03 when we'd play a ton of that and Super Monkey Ball practically every weekend. I don't think we'll ever get back into consistent 4-player gaming again, but it sure was nice tonight. And I ended up being the victor, hehe (after a three-way tie at 12 points).

Playing assassin's creed 2 for the 360 and Final Fight 3 for the SNES
I never gave the assassin's creed any attention. Last night I went out to buy the first game but they did not have one at Game Stop so I got assassin's creed 2 and like it so far. The only thing that sucks as I am going through doing the little missions the Enemies men are at every corner so I end up fighting them or trying to finish the mission in the allowed time which is hard whn you have these guys trying to fight all the time. Other than that great game so far.

I finally fully explored the final dungeon in Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360 and then beat the game. Not that exciting of a conclusion, really. The main plot is pretty loose and aimless. It feels like more of an excuse to hop from planet to planet and get wrapped up in each planet's troubles. Those concerns feel more "epic" than the overall plot, despite the whole "the universe will be destroyed" factor. But whatever, no biggie. I ain't playing for the plot. Now that I completed the main game, I can start on the post-game. I got the Darkness Ring, so now I can collect some previously inaccessible treasure and open up the first bonus dungeon.

Well, I finally completed the second story arc of Solatorobo. There were some epic cut-scenes during the final chapters of the game! I can't wait for the English version to come out because I want to know the finer details of the story.
Now all I have left to complete are some of the downloaded quests, and a few regular ones that I skipped. I'll probably wait to start the "new game plus" until after someone posts the English script online.

I'm currently tackling the original Castlevania on the NES. The gameplay is delicious. And it doesn't seem to be as merciless as other top franchises on the system (I'm sort of rediscovering the NES nowadays).
On the Genesis, I'm tackling Bio-Hazard Battle. The music is just outstanding. Probably some of the best the 16-bit era had to offer. Also one of the best 16-bit shmups I've ever played. Already beat it on Practice mode. But now even on the easiest level, it's already starting to get merciless. I'm down to the level 6 boss. Two more levels to go. Gotta keep trying.

I've cleared two floors of the Cave of the Seven Stars in Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360 now. Nice boost to the game's difficulty in this place. Because of the threat, I decided to stick to Bacchus and Sarah in my party full-time for the time being (I normally just swap characters after level ups, always keeping the lowest four). I could probably just as well go with Myuria as a healer, but nobody can surpass Bacchus in brokenness, haha. As tough as the enemies were at first, they're basically no threat when I'm controlling Bacchus. Skill that converts HP into MP + skill that costs 5 MP and recovers full HP + moves that cover the field and do an insane amount of hits = unstoppable. Granted, his moves don't do huge amounts of damage, but I can spam them and keep everything occupied while the others chip in. Plus, with all those hits, his Rush gauge fills up like nothing, allowing me to trigger powerful Rush Combos all the time (although they're kind of boring and time-consuming, so I save them for bosses mostly). I don't want to use Bacchus forever because that would get dull, but for now he's working out great.

Whoo, I cleared Gabriel in Star Ocean: The Last Hope for Xbox 360. :) Nice challenging fight, although it did only take two tries. That was actually the first time I've seen the Game Over screen, which is kind of sad. The game is easy as it is with just a 4-person party, and then they add in the ability to swap in any of the other 4 at any time. Even if you let all of the active party die, the game just sits there waiting for you to swap in the reserves, so you can't get a Game Over until until every character you have is dead. Anyway, I picked up the Water Ring and got the lame treasures covered in fire, earning myself the 100% treasure achievement, so now I'm all set to tackle the final bonus dungeon. Sucks that it's randomly generated like the horribly lame and tedious Sphere 211 in Star Ocean 3. And I'd equate the Cave of the Seven Stars to the Cave of Trials in SO3 as well. Decent fun and challenge, but no real variety, creativity, or personality. I don't know if any tri-Ace bonus dungeon will ever live up to the Cave of Trials in SO2. I just adore that one.

I've been playing the Gears of War 3 beta the most. They definitely need to balance it some more so I'm glad they are taking feedback. Right now it's pretty much roadie run, roll, shotgun or sawed off. Thats all 99% of everyone does. I've also been playing X-Men arcade to help people get some of the achievements they missed.
Hopefully next week I'll finally be able to pop in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2. I've held off on playing it this month because I was using my trial Gamefly subscription and that ended a couple days before the beta started. So I want to get these things out of the way first before getting deeply engrossed in another game.

I started up the Wandering Dungeon in Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360, and just my luck, the first floor wanted 14 Geostones to progress. Rather than being smart and restarting the place, I farmed for them for a long time, so by the time I got to the second floor, I was already spent. I did keep going until the fifth floor, but then I headed out. The randomly generated floors seem pretty compact so far at least, so that's good. I don't know how the difficulty is going to ratchet up, but clearing four new floors each trip seems reasonable. I also finally kicked out Bacchus. Given that I'll need Geostone drops and there are plenty of insect enemies, I figure Arumat and his amazing Dragon Howl move can clear the field even more effectively, especially with my combo of Critical Hit and Berserk.

Ugh, my last trip into the Wandering Dungeon in Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360 wasn't quite so pleasant. My plan to tackle four floors at a time fell to the wayside, seeing as the floors get bigger and bigger and it's so time-consuming even going through the ones I want to blow through. I spent around 5 freakin' hours my last trip, and all I intended to do was get through two additional floors (which had me leave after the 12th floor). I had such horrible luck in getting the Geostone quests, getting the ones with large requests, AND not getting the monsters to drop them much, that I probably spent a good couple hours or more purely on tediously farming from monsters that I have no reason to fight otherwise. I probably spent at least the last hour with a headache because I'm not one for marathon gaming. Gimme two hours and I'm spent. I guess at least I didn't get a Game Over so it's not like the time was wasted, but, argh, I'm really ticked at tri-Ace for dropping the ball on this. I'm not jazzed on the idea of a randomly generated dungeon anyway, and then they have to put random, tedious missions on every other floor just to drag you down and keep you from progressing at an enjoyable rate. Isn't it enough of a challenge that you have to refight all the bosses on the even floors each trip? Don't give me annoying busy work, or at least make it reasonably small, like a requirement of maybe 5 Geostones tops, not freakin' *18*.

I had a much nicer run in the Wandering Dungeon in Star Ocean: The Last Hope for Xbox 360 tonight. I cleared up to the 15th floor, which was still a long trip at just over three hours, but I'll gladly take that over five hours to cover less ground. I only had to do two extra battles to acquire Geostones; the rest of the time I either already had enough or got the other, more preferable, missions. I also picked up a couple more of the rare treasures along the way, so that's nice. That also cuts down on my time on the earlier floors since I can skip searching through the treasure chests once I know I have all the good stuff that a particular floor offers. I'm also getting much better at the 10th floor boss, which is by far the toughest so far. I now have two characters over level 200, AKA past the level cap. I think it's pretty dumb that there's a level cap in the game that can only be removed by getting 50% of the character's Battle Trophies. I spent a good chunk of time playing yesterday, and it was all purely to collect Sarah's trophies. Not only is she the crappiest character with the crappiest voice but she has the crappiest trophies too. What a pain. But I suppose it was a welcome break after my frustrations with the Wandering Dungeon.
We also play some more Mario Kart 64 on Nintendo 64, mostly 3-player but a tiny bit of 4-player, and I very briefly played some Super Mario Bros. 2 via Super Mario All-Stars through emulation.

I had another good run in the Wandering Dungeon in Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360, clearing up to the 17th floor. I hit the final batch of enemies in the dungeon, so I almost have a complete monster data collection. I also started to get a decent number of Philospher's Stones. It's been slow going in the Wandering Dungeon in Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360 lately. Even when I have a good run with no real hang-ups, it still takes a huge chunk of time. I got up to the 19th floor after over 4 hours today, so hopefully one more run will finish it off. I feel kind of torn because I don't want Iseria Queen to be a pushover, but given the investment of time to reach her, I really do hope I don't lose. I think I'm definitely prepared, though, considering I have Arumat and Sarah maxed out at 255 and everyone else around 180-190. Hopefully my run to her won't take all eternity considering there's only one piece of rare treasure I've yet to acquire, which leaves only two floors that need searching.

I've been playing Arc Rise Fantasia on the Wii. The common complaints I've been reading about this game are 1) the bad voice acting, and 2) the difficult boss fights.
I'm about 8 hours into the game, and so far I'm enjoying it. Yes, the voice acting is crappy, but it hasn't been bad enough to make me mute my TV yet. As for the boss difficulty, I've beat the first three bosses without dying. But I won't be surprised if the next one beats my party to a pulp.
Actually, the game gives you a good incentive to grind. Your weapons have special attributes, some which can be removed and placed on another weapon. But, in order to unlock the attribute pieces you have to earn "weapon points" by winning battles. It's quite addicting, and it gives you lots of customization options.

I've sort of been alternating in Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360 lately. I'd do a run through the Wandering Dungeon, like I wrote about in my last post, and then I spend some time creating items, gathering materials, messing around in the Colosseum, and earning Battle Trophies, which is exactly what I've done since my previous post. I finally completed all of the game's quests, all 200 of 'em, so that's one less thing to think about. Since all of my characters are creeping up on level 200, I've been working on unlocking their level caps too. I believe only Reimi and Meracle still have them now. I might say to heck with Meracle for now since she's only at 32 and getting 18 more would be a big pain, but I should be able to quickly polish off Reimi's cap.

Yes, I finally beat Iseria Queen (technically the "Ethereal Queen") in Star Ocean: The Last Hope on Xbox 360. :) That about wraps up what I want to do with the game for now, but I think I'll play a tiny bit more, if only to beat the team battles in the Colosseum and get Ashlay's monster and weapon data (which would get me the 100% monster data achievement). I don't know if I want to shoot for the weapons achievement just yet, despite how close I am, since it would take more runs through the Wandering Dungeon to earn more feathers and Philosopher's Stones, not to mention some more fights with Gabriel too. To be honest, it's going to be a little hard to just stop playing, haha. I'm only around a dozen hours shy of 200, and I've been playing this almost exclusively for, what, around three months? But I definitely can't do everything now, since some things would take replaying the game.

Before I start my next game that's new to me, I decided to replay an old favorite - Wonder Project J on my Super Nintendo. The replay was largely inspired by the fact that I finally landed a copy of the 4-koma manga based on the game, which has eluded me for many years. Unlike the sequel, which I've beaten more times than I can remember, I've only gone through this one once before, and my memory of it is so faint that I probably wouldn't get the gags in the manga without a refresher (not like I'll get half anyway, seeing as I don't know much Japanese). Anyway, I'm already on chapter 7, so I'll probably have it wrapped up in no time. I may very well give it a replay immediately after that, though, seeing as I've never seen the best ending. I could've attempted it this play, but I'd rather get a handle on the stat necessities for each part before I go for a clean run that could earn a high rating.
It's been a little bit frustrating of a replay because I've been getting stuck some. I prefer the continuous feeling of progress in the sequel rather than the back and forth stat management in the original. It sucks to have great stats and need to purposely ruin them, then having Pino confused by items he had already learned, and then grinding stats back up. But little complaints and frustrations aside, I still adore this one too. :)

I beat Wonder Project J on my Super Nintendo, and, not surprisingly, it choked me up a little. What an amazing, special game. I think it's all the more beautiful because it was so fleeting. An amazing series, with amazing music, made by an amazing company, and all it was gone practically as soon as it appeared. The company dissolved right after the sequel, the composer passed away, and the series was never heard from again (unless you count the recent mobile phone port). Now that I finished my normal replay, I'm already on the 4th chapter of the "new game+", and I've only slept away one day (because I screwed up the Hole-in-One shot, and it seems like you need to sleep before you get another chance to try). It's a good thing I didn't rush straight into this game as my first replay because the money carries over from the completed file, and I must of really squandered it my first time playing. That file had even less cash than you get in a fresh start. This replay that I just finished had over twice as much, which is much needed for the A-Chargers to restore HP/MP rather than sleeping.
Other than that, I've been playing some PSP, both because I picked up some new games and because I've been having issues with it. I hadn't touched it in months, but I bought Knight in the Nightmare and updated my firmware to 6.30. As soon as I did that, I started getting all these problems with the tray not reading that it was closed, when the dang thing worked perfectly before. I learned about tugging on the metal prongs to give more tension on the disc, which appeared to solve the problem, but it seemed to only lessen it because then my fiance had some issues with the Gradius Collection. I bought Me & My Katamari and Prinny 2, which I tried out for a fair chunk of time, with no problems with either. Then I tried the Gradius Collection myself, playing the first Gradius like my fiance had, and I was about to rule it out too when I finally got that Home menu message (the same thing you'd get if you popped open the tray mid-game). I played through the whole game and got the problem a couple times back-to-back on two different occasions, but overall it was infrequent. It's very frustrating that this is happening, but at least it's not a huge problem like it was before.

I blew through my second play of Wonder Project J on my Super Nintendo, earning the best ending with ease (although it actually only changes a small portion of the ending). I'm basically a master at the game now, haha. I even made a little handwritten quick-and-dirty FAQ for myself for whenever I play again in the future since all the guides out there in English stink. I really should make a real FAQ myself, but I got too much on my plate to undertake something like that now.
At the insistence of my fiance, I started Wonder Project J2 on Nintendo 64 (not like it takes that much badgering to make me play it, haha). This is the first time I've ever played both games remotely near each other. It's throwing me off a little since I'm so used to the first at the moment, despite that I've played the sequel many more times. I keep wanting to mimic the controls in the original. I am picking up on some stuff that I never did before, though, like how the room in which Josette sees Gepetto in the intro is the same room as the upstairs room in the first game. I also never realized that some of the original's music is arranged in the sequel.

Currently waffling between Contra: Hard Corps Uprising (360) and Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!. Pretty usual state of affairs for me, to be jumping back and forth between XYZ and MTPO!!. I've been playing the game for some 24 odd years now, and it still doesn't get old.

I'm up to, I believe, 80% in Wonder Project J2 on Nintendo 64. I've never been that crazy about the obligatory 3D sequences, so it's a bit of a pain getting all of the achievements out of those. I should be almost done with the sub and plane, though, so that just leaves the mazes which aren't so bad. I'm guessing I'll have the game licked either today or tomorrow.
Still truckin through GTA4 and Borderlands, I also started on Shadow Tower and will eventually start Crystalis when I get the chance.

Started playing Saboteur again. Hoping to finish it this time because it's a really good game with a few flaws. Main flaw is that you can't turn off the music while driving in a car.

Still in the second half of Star Wars: TFU2. I don't have many complaints so far but I'm really going to hate playing thru this game on the hardest difficulty to get those achievements. Well not "hate" it but it's going to be quite a challenge. I'm also attempting to finally finish Perfect Dark on XBLA. Had the aiming controls not sucked so bad I would have finished this game last year but they are bad enough that I completely lost interest in the game for awhile. I need to atleast beat it once though.

I've been spending a considerable amount of time playing Geometry wars, both on the 360 and DS. It's rather addicting. :D

I finished off Wonder Project J2 on Nintendo 64, so now I'm just trying to figure out what I'd like to play next. Since I was reading the Nintendo Power issues leading up to Star Fox's release a few months ago, I've been wanting to take a crack at that on Super Nintendo. I don't know if I'll stick with it seriously, though. My first attempt resulted in a Game Over at the boss of the 4th stage on the easiest path. I have practically no experience with this series and little experience with fully 3D space shooters in general, so safe to say I stink, haha. I'd definitely like to at least beat the easiest path someday, but I don't know if I'm up for a game that'll take serious practice at the moment.

Well, I made my goal a reality in Star Fox on Super Nintendo as it actually didn't take too much practice to beat Path 1. Since then, I went into the Black Hole just for fun and popped out in Path 3, which of course I couldn't get farther in (although I did reach the boss of the stage I was dropped off in). I attempted Path 2, but I couldn't even make it past the second stage before losing all of my lives and credits. I watched my fiance play through most of Path 3, so that was interesting to see. I'd like to see the planet stage on Path 2, so maybe I'll practice enough to at least reach stage 3. I don't know if I'll keep playing long enough to beat Path 2 also, though.

My main time seems to be spent on Castlevania - Dawn of Sorrow on the DS. Double Dragon on the GB, Tomb Raider on the GBC and Dangerous Seed on the Mega Drive on the side.

I have now beaten both the campaign and dlc for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2. I have to go back and of course get all the extra achievements. I'm also going to play alittle Uno and Modern Warfare 2.

ive been hacking my mega-mans lately and playing my Super Mario JP2 cart on the side, hacked that too!
i would be playing punch-out and glove ball with my power gloves but they recently all decided to die of old age on the same day, i was like wtf! i got a sealed one but dare not open it lol
Started on Episodes from Liberty City (PS3) and I'm really growing to dislike Lost and Damned. It seems needlessly difficult at times, the aiming must be purposely off or something, because I'll end up wasting 2 clips on one person who isn't even wearing any armor.
I may just completely skip it and play Ballad of Gay Tony instead, I'd rather not deal with the games bullshit right now.
