Blargh, after over a month without a computer to call my own, I'm finally getting situated with my own PC again and get back to online business as usual. At least I've been able to do a fair amount of gaming (but definitely not as much as during the summer, unfortunately).

I doubt I can remember everything I've played since my last post, but I did finish off Pikmin 2 on GameCube, getting every single treasure. I also got pink flowers on all but three challenges, and I'd like to finish that off still but I haven't touched the game in weeks now.

My main focus now is getting back into Infinite Undiscovery on Xbox 360 and finally finishing it off, after playing off and on for a year now. I just got back to Kolton after the events involving the lunar rain over Fayel. I imagine I'll be done pretty soon, but I am still sinking an absurd amount of time connecting with every party member and talking to everybody in each town after dialogue updates so that's dragging the process out.

I haven't been giving my Game Boy Advance SP that much time, but I did make a tiny bit of progress in Magi Nation (now I can jump larger gaps), farmed for items in Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, and tried out Digimon Battle Spirit, Mega Man Battle Network 2, and Altered Space. I put Altered Space in my case, so I'll probably attempt to play through that one soon.

I also tested out Mana Khemia 2: Fall of Alchemy for PlayStation 2, since I got that at launch, and Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? on PSP, which was a birthday present. I very briefly played Fushigi no Dungeon: Fuurai no Shiren 2 on Nintendo 64, not because it's a new addition but because I wanted to recall what its Sugiyama music was like.

I've been showing my PSP some more love. For the longest time I've only had three games for it. Now I've been playing a lot of Miku Hatsune: Project Diva/Vocaloid. I've opened up all the songs but three, and I have no idea what to do to unlock the rest. So far I've only acquired four costumes and two of those are different characters.

Then after waiting a long time I finally got Persona PSP in the mail. So I briefly played it until I went to sleep last night.

I've played a little Infinite Undiscovery on Xbox 360 since my last post, but I haven't really done much beyond what I last said. I noticed I can use the boat freely now, so I plan to do a ton of connecting and treasure hunting before I head to the next dungeon. Hopefully it'll be the last of the connecting and I can just finish it off after that.

I'm still farming items in Castlevania: Circle of the Moon on my Game Boy Advance SP, and I also farted around in Altered Space without really knowing what the heck I'm doing.

But the main thing I've been playing lately is Idol Hanafuda Fan Club on my PC Engine Duo-RX, which is an unlicensed pornographic game, haha. A few weeks ago, I looked up hanafuda on a whim because I was curious as to how people actually use the cards, which ultimately led to a complete hanafuda obsession, haha. I got outbid on the first hanafuda video game I was going for, so I settled on this one, with the bonus of laughing at 16-bit naked ladies. I've already beaten the game, but it's so addictive that I'm still playing. I even skip past all the nudity. :P I actually like this a lot better than the flash game I had been playing previously since it has some features that streamline card-picking, letting me focus on strategy. It's not bad at all for a game that was probably banking on the nudity to sell copies more so than the gameplay itself.

I also picked up a few other random imports with my order which I tried out: Tengai Makyo: Fuun Kabuki Den, also for PC Engine; Princess Minerva for Super Famicom, which is surprisingly fun for an anime cash-in; and Yakouchuu II for Nintendo 64, which was a dumb purchase considering it's a visual novel I can't really play, but being a Japan-exclusive N64 game makes it an automatic purchase for me, hehe.

I started with the connecting in Infinite Undiscovery on Xbox 360, but I'm still just wasting time in Kolton.

More farming in Castlevania: Circle of the Moon and more wandering in Altered Space, both on my Game Boy Advance SP.

I'm still playing Idol Hanafuda Fan Club on my PC Engine Duo-RX the most, but I've probably been playing the online flash game more lately. I'm still heavily addicted to hanafuda in general. I'm actually thinking of writing an FAQ on Idol Hanafuda Fan Club just for the heck of it.

I also finally tried out one of my birthday presents (which I think came late anyway) - Typing of the Date for Dreamcast. I adore Getter Love!!, which it's based off of, so this is a real treat to me. I'm most excited that it appears to have special event scenes that weren't in Getter Love!! at all. It's also awesome that it lets me type in romaji, otherwise I probably wouldn't be able to play it at all. It just stinks that even if I type perfectly, I still have the dates end bad more often than not from picking bad responses, but I suppose that's to be expected.

I was at my brother's yesterday and his son (my nephew) Derek and I played a pair of games of MLB Power Pros against each other. He beat me by 1 run in both games. I haven't been playing a whole ton since practically everyday I've gone in for school the last two weeks I've had a midterm and now I got a stinkin' 4-page paper to write. What's kind of silly, though, is in my off-time I've been relaxing by doing even more writing, having decided to write an Idol Hanafuda Fan Club FAQ like I mentioned before. So that's about all I've been playing, mostly just to fact check.

I think I did more item farming in Castlevania: Circle of the Moon since my last post, but I really haven't had many opportunities to turn on my Game Boy Advance SP lately.

Haven't posted these in a hell of a long time, but just feel like it after todays play:

Soul Calibur - Dreamcast
Played this yesterday for hours against my housemate. Its only the 2nd time we've played videogames together. Was great fun. And due to her Tekken experience, can put up a lot better fight than in Street Fighter.

Marbles! Balance Challenge - Wii
Finally got the sequel to Kororinpa and not sure if I like it as much. Since I'm in a very non-game-playing phase I'm not going to get into it as much as when I just got my Wii and played this a lot with my then-flatmate. The ball feels slightly odd. Still, I did 22 levels. Didn't try for medals apart from on 1 of them - and thats where the fun really lies. Its just like Kororinpa though - so I should love it.

Bit.Trip Beat - WiiWare
Played a lil game yesterday before my housemate came home and then today played some - and finally managed to beat the 2nd level - Descent! It was awesome, and it was the first time I ever got to the boss - and it was such a standard Breakout throwback I was in shock, but still only managed to beat it in the black and white bit. Did a bunch of tries of Growth - the final level - and it seems amazing. Its great finally playing a new level of this game. I hope it saves my progress - I didn't get a high score when I beat Descent, but after quitting and starting again, Growth was still open, so here's hoping...

I played plenty more Idol Hanafuda Fan Club on my PC Engine Duo-RX since my last post, but since I finished my FAQ and beat it tons of times over, I think it's time to put it out to pasture, at least for a little while. I think I burnt my Hanafuda obsession to the ground, haha.

So I'm getting back into Infinite Undiscovery for Xbox 360, the game that seemingly never ends for me. Even though I've put way more time into it than the average player, it's really not a ton of time in the grand scheme of things, not compared to the time I've invested in many other RPGs; it's just that I basically have no urge to play and easily go weeks, if not months, without touching it, which is exactly what has happened over this past year. Oh well. I haven't made much progress lately either; I'm just wasting more time connecting and doing some side quests that opened up.

Still playing Castlevania: Circle of the Moon on my Game Boy Advance SP, but now, in addition to the item farming, I also got back into my Fighter file. It's so ridiculously easy on this mode. I just blew through a few areas, beating the bosses before the battles felt like they had even begun.

My previous FAQ served its purpose as it's spurred me into action on my long-unfinished Star Ocean: Blue Sphere guide. It's kind of a stretch to say I've been "playing" it, but I've been turning my Game Boy Advance SP on and off a ton to tinker in the game.

But it's also getting time with Castlevania: Circle of the Moon. I've blown through all of Fighter mode, and now I'm sitting at the Dracula battle. I've lost a few times, but mostly because I completely forgot about what he does in the battle. Now I'm just having a little bit of trouble on the second portion of the second form. It's tricky to hit that blasted eyeball without any magic.

I've been playing through the translation of the Sailor Moon Another Story RPG (SFC) on my GP2X via the PocketSNES emulator. I haven't played through this game since WAY back in 1999 when it was first translated. It seemed fitting since I'm presently working on restoring my old Sailor Moon site (nearly exactly as it was) that fell off the face of the 'net back in 2001. I played up through the end of the Sailor Mercury portion of Chapter 2 before calling it a day. Of course this area ends with the slowest and most boring boss battle in all of RPG history. Of course, once you get Nabu to use all her EP, it gets even more slow and boring. Essentially a slugging match, you doing 1-5 HP damage per turn, her doing around 0-2 HP damage per turn.

Of course, there are ways to make this battle go faster and be less boring...

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/current-sailormoonRPG001.jpg

Ah, much better! About ten minutes later the battle is over. The GP2X is a pretty incredible machine, best money I've spent in quite awhile.
