Ok, I tried, but that N64 Castlevania is just horrible... Decided to break out the gamecube again... I'm into the Fire Emblem game, Radiant somethin' or other. I loved the FE series on the GBA, this GC version seems to be much less forgiving than I remember the GBA version being.

Testing out some MVS game compatibility for a Neo Geo.com member.
I tried the carts in both my two slots..Double Dragon knocks out Rage of the Dragons sound if you demo to it or select to it..
I switched the carts around and tried it several times and still the same thing..
It's Double Dragon..I have a note with the cart that it won't work with other carts in my 4 slots so I didn't even try.
Double Dragon doen't work well with other games, one reason why I never play it..

2 slot.
Rage of the Dragons I tried with Goal,Goal Goal and,it runs fine ..it's running fine right now with Samurai Showdown II..It's been on for awhile now..I'm actually going to leave those two games in the cab.

Consolewise, I'm playing Drake's Fortune and NFS Pro Street on my PS3....FF7 on the PSX. I just got a gaming PC, first one ever, always wanted one and decided to spark up the very first Baldur's Gate (even though it's an oldie), which I bought years ago from a bargain bin. Other than that, I'm playing Postal 2 on it. Looking forward to buying Neverwinter Nights and all the other great PC RPGs..

After using Super Star Soldier to test my PC Engine back when I was having some issues with it, as stated in my previous post, I ended up getting the urge to play some more, so I finally sat down with it with the goal of getting past stage 1, haha. I lost quite a few times, but after testing out different weapons and learning a few patterns, I finally got into a groove with the game. After I got past that hurdle, not only did I beat stage 1 but kept playing all the way to stage 4 before getting a Game Over.

I had a craving to pop Detana! TwinBee in my Duo-RX as well, and I've completely lost it with that game. I used to breeze through the game; this time I couldn't even beat it. Funny how I magically got better at Pop'n TwinBee on Super Famicom, but I got worse at Detana. I guess I lost my groove with it, but with practice I'm sure I'll easily regain my skill.

I also have been playing some Bubble Bobble also featuring Rainbow Islands on PlayStation. I've been playing all the games on the collection (Bubble Bobble and both the original and enhanced versions of Rainbow Islands), but since I don't like the enhanced version of Rainbow Islands much, I've mostly stuck with the originals. I wrangled in my brother and his little sister to play Bubble Bobble with me since it's much more fun (and easier) with two people. It's seriously gotta be one of the best cooperative games ever. Even though most people don't like it much, I also really love Rainbow Islands. It's more a traditional single-player platformer experience, though.

And finally, I played some Bubble Bath Babes on NES via emulation (of course). Don't ask. :P Seriously, though, in this day and age, you're led to believe that it's easy to make a decent, if not derivative, puzzle game by just making a Tetris or Puyo Puyo knock-off, but then I play something like this and can't believe some of the incompetent design. O_o It still has a minor amount of that addictive quality found in most puzzle games, though.

Ikaruga for the GC... I've heard a lot of raves about this game... and while it plays a bit different than other shooters, I don't like the screen interface, as it seems way too cramped on my widescreen TV. I know that you can zoom in somewhat, but then your missing part of the screen. Oh well... I'll play it a little more to see if it grows on me- in between Metroid Prime 3 sessions (a game which is turning out really great).

Super Mario Galaxy - Wii
Did one Purple Coin star, then failed to find 2 hidden stars. It tells me they are in certain levels but I just don't know where. Also tried to tackle the LPC level, generally regarded as the hardest star. Wasted a lot of lives but I think I can do it now... Then only 1 galaxy to go as I've been saving up opening a new galaxy for the end.

Splatterhouse - PC Engine
So, it took a few goes but I beat the level 3 boss. Level 4 is pretty good, the boss beat me though...

Still playing Halo 3 ever since release day. My friend and I liked to play ranked team multiplayer online on split-screen so we can coordinate our efforts better (easier to say "there's a sniper, look at my screen" than "there's a sniper ... uh ... at the one tower, but not the one with the invisibility, no that's not a tower that's a roof, uh ... oh, you're dead").

Also have recently gone back to trying to finish Starfox Command Mission and Final Fantasy 3 on DS.

Next up is Shadow of the Collosus once I have time, and I also need to finish Planescape: Torment, which I'm halfway through.

Bubble Bobble on Taito Legends for the PS2. Much improved over Bubble Bobble for the PS1 for the simple reason that the PS1 game did not let players save their high scores (or anything else). Bubble Bobble Also Featuring Rainbow Islands was one of relatively few PS1 discs without memory card support.

Was this post in relation to my recent gaming or just a funny coincidence? :)

Yeah, Taito Legends does make owning Bubble Bubble also featuring Rainbow Islands kind of pointless, especially considering the PlayStation game costs around three times as much as Legends. I only picked it up because I got a great deal on it, and, surprisingly, it's still the only version of those games that I own. Still great fun, though, and it was a godsend back then to anyone who wanted to play the arcade originals at home, rather than console conversions, even if it didn't have memory card support. I can't say that really bothers me all that much actually, since I have tons of games that don't save scores, even arcade compilations released more recently.

Anyway, I'm still playing it from time to time. Mostly I've been sticking with Bubble Bobble, but I did play some original Rainbow Islands the other day.

Other than that, I returned to Super Star Soldier on my PC Engine Duo-RX, and I got up to the boss of stage 4 for the first time but I lost all my lives on him. With no power-ups or anything, I just couldn't recover after that. I blew through a couple continues, and then I just decided to turn it off since I wasn't getting anywhere. It's really one of those old-school kind of shooters that you gotta get through on one credit or you're screwed.

Pole Position... lots and lots of Pole Position on the arcade cabinet. I hadn't turned it on for a few days and ended up playing for about three hours before switching over to Pole Position II for a few credits. Aside from that I played Rez for a bit on the PS2 last night, been years since I've played that last. I also spent a few more hours playing Grandia III this afternoon. I'll stick with what I said before, Grandia III feels a lot more like the original Grandia (my favorite RPG) than the sequel did.

Finished up Mario Galaxy on the Wii
and the other game I have been addicted to this month:

Heroes II Gold Edition (PC)

One of my favorite PC games of all time. Installed it on my comp when I got settled into my new place and haven't been able to walk away from it since. The concept and gameplay of this game is excellent and unique and I wish there were more games like it.

Too bad 3DO did a worse job with Heroes III andwas asking to go bankrupt with the release of Heroes IV and a little help from Might and Magic IX.
Been a long time fan of these two series starting with MM3 and Heroes 1...and I was very dissapointed in 3DO's last few years of development.

Bubble Bobble on Taito Legends for the PS2.

The controls are much better on Xbox, where jump is moved to the A button instead of the circle button on PS2 if I remember correctly.

Oh, and I've been played Neo Geo Battle Coliseum on PS2 this morning while my girlfriend's at work. I'm on Christmas vacation, so no joystick...I'm using the Street Fighter joypad. I already beat Mizuchi on the arcade mode and unlocked Athena, but he's so tough to beat on the first try that I don't know if I'm going to unlock all the secret characters.

I WAS playing Rock Band on PS3 with friends on a regular basis until the guitar hardware strum bar failed (waiting on EA's "express" repair/exchange).

Choro Q (got stuck on a random mission to retrieve two other cars from inside a sewer and stopped because the cars didn't know how to follow me out, so I quit)
Demon Stone (hadn't been played since September 2005, and I got through the second level finally)
Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal (kept getting killed, can't remember the name of the stage)
